I have always hated going to the dentist.  I had some really, really, REALLY bad experiences as a kid.  Have you ever seen the movie “Marathon Man” with Dustin Hoffman & Sir Lawrence Olivier?  That kind of bad experience.  To this day, I get the “shakes” whenever I hear the words “Is it safe?”.  Then, when I joined the Air Force, even more bad experiences.  So, for the most part, I’ve kept going to the dentist down to only when I had to (broken tooth, pain, etc.). I mention all the previous info only to show that dentist’s have NOT been my favorite doctors, not by a long shot!  Well, I’ll be turning 60 this month (how THAT happened, I’m not sure), and for the first time in my life, I’ve found a great dentist – one who doesn’t scare the bejeezus out of me.  And at my age, I’ve had quite a few of those.  As a matter of fact, Dr. Kim is totally the opposite! Dr. Kim and his entire staff are awesome.  They are some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet in a medical office.  Really!  I found Dr. Kim thru my girlfriend, who highly recommended him.  I had broken a tooth, and couldn’t let it slide, so I took her recommendation and went.  After the initial exam & X-Rays, Dr. Kim explained everything that needed to be done and was happy to answer any questions I had.  We discussed the different ways to repair my broken tooth, and he made sure I was aware of all my options.  I also want to point out that his office is very beautiful and modern.  Digital X-Rays – how cool to see the pictures come up on the monitor right next to your chair.  It sure helped to make things clear as Dr. Kim was explaining what needed to be done. I am diabetic and take insulin shots 5 times a day, so I’m totally used to shots.  But needles in the mouth have always been one of the worse parts of getting dental work done.  I’m not sure why, but some doctors and dentists have “it”, and some don’t.  Unfortunately, I have always seemed to attract the ones that don’t.  But not any more.  I had to have deep cleaning done, so I needed several shots, and Dr. Kim’s touch with a needle is practically painless!  And as a matter of fact, he asked numerous times if I was ok, and kept checking throughout the entire procedure.  My comfort was a priority.  That was really nice for me, a dental “chicken”.  My tooth repair and deep cleaning was done in two stages.  During the first part, Dr. Kim made an impression of my broken tooth, fitted me with a temporary crown, and performed a deep cleaning of one side of my mouth.  Then I returned after the real crown was ready to have it put on and to have the deep cleaning of the other side.  So, there were quite a few shots involved.  The first ones were no fluke – the second round of shots were as painless as the first ones.  I was certainly relieved. Bottom line is this:  You couldn’t ask for a friendlier or more knowledgeable dentist and staff than at Dr. Kim’s office.  If you want a dentist that has a really great facility, uses modern technology, keeps up with all the latest dental techniques, and really cares about his patients, then this is where you need to go!  Just check out the other reviews – everyone agrees – 10 West Dental is AWESOME! I will definitely recommend this place to my family and friends! I have seen Dr. Kim several times now, I really needed a dentist that I could trust. I was so satisfied with the results of my dental work, I won’t go to any other dentist. The office was really professional and clean. The technology that you see inside the dentist chair was out of this world. Loved the rest of staff there, they are so friendly and caring, about your well being so much

If you are looking for a great dentist and office staff, go to west dental.  i happened on this office one day when i had a appointment with another dental office, when i got there they we lined up out the door and everyones appointment was for 8 am.  the guy checking people in said it would probably be about 3 hours before i could see a dentist and that would only be a consultation and  maybe exrays.  i left, being really mad for the disrespect and on my way home i was on 10th st. west and saw the office west dental  and decided i would just stop and try to make a appointment.  i was getting out of my car and one of the girls that works there said hi and i asked if the office was opened and said i wanted to make an appointment.  to make a long story short she said that if i was ready they would take me immediately. within 20 minutes  of filling out papers i was having exrays, extensive exrays and consultation started immediately of what i needed.  dr. kim was very nice and explained what needed to be done and then listened to what i could afford to have done.  that morning i had a tooth extracted and a deep cleaning and home before i knew it.  i went back to him tuesday and had a 5 tooth bridge made and the temporary was put in all in a couple of hours.  dr. kim explained every move he was making and the temporary looks so good you can’t tell its temporary.  within 2 weeks my permanent bridge will be ready.  thats service, and the girls, jen and patty and courtney were so nice, always making sure i was ok.  you got nothing to loose, give these people a chance, you’ll be glad you did

I went to 10 west dental because I had an infected tooth.  Dr Kim and his staff we so great. Dr.  Kim is very caring and Knowledgeable. He takes the time to show you what he is seeing in your X-ray’s and explains it in detail in words that you can understand.  And any concerns that I had I no longer do because he has eased my worries with his abilities to explain the procedure with out making it so frightening.  I defiantly recommend this dentist to all of you who may have been looking for the perfect dentist.  Well Dr.  Kim at 10 west dental is it!

If you dread going to the dentist like me, read on: My aversion to the dental office began at youth. A combination of poor dental hygiene education, genes, and love for sugary drinks and sweets necessitated some unwanted visits to the dental clinic. Apparently brushing your teeth twice per day and flossing once per day, is not enough to stave off the terrible monstrosities better known as cavities/decay. Dentists love me because of my love for sweets and the business I bring them… Before Dr. Kim, my dental visits consisted pretty much of the fear-inducing shrilling sound of the dental drill, odors from the friction of the drill and tooth, and pain. Lots of pain. I thought it was normal to experience some pain even with the anesthesia I was given. Oh the dread. It was not until my visit at 10 West Dental that I realized seeing the dentist wasn’t so bad. Dr. Kim and his staff, Jennifer and Courtney, are great. They’re super friendly and funny and do a great job at making you feel as comfortable as possible. Importantly, Dr. Kim is passionate about his practice and is an educator. He spent time to educate me about the health of my teeth, the proper techniques for taking care of them, and best of all – he didn’t tell me to stop drinking soda. During the procedure, Dr. Kim was careful and constantly asked if I was okay or experiencing any pain. He didn’t rush and took his time to make sure everything was done properly. He would periodically hand me a mirror to show me what he was doing. Dr. Kim is generous with the amount and cautious with the placement of the anesthesia. In my two visits here, I felt ZERO pain during the procedure and there was no pain or discomfort even after the anesthesia wore off. I was pleasantly surprised that my teeth felt completely the same as if no work had been done on them. Thanks to Dr. Kim and his staff I no longer have any dread visiting the dental office because they make it pleasant and literally a pain-free experience! =D

I was nervous to bring my children to a new dentist in a new town because i never thought that any other office could compare to the care we received from our previous longtime family dentist. But, I LOVE this dental office and wow what an amazing team they have! They are very caring and knowledgeable. Dr. Kim went out if his way to give me,  this over protected mom, his cell number just in case my daughter had any issues during the weekend with all 4 of her wisdom teeth being pulled. And Jennifer explains to us in depth of the do’s and don’ts after all visits and her knowledge of insurance billing leaves me with nothing to do now. I just sit back, enjoy a Frappuccino from their fridge and wait for our children to come out. Thank you 10 West Dental staff!

First off, let me begin by saying I NEVER write detail yelp reviews — but after my experience with Dr. William Kim, I felt it was the only right thing to do seeing as he has changed my outlook on dentists all together. Dr. William Kim is the BEST dentist in Palmdale — not just for people who are VERY fearful or embarrassed of getting dental work done like myself, but also because he is a grade A professional at his craft. I Went into his office and was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who made me feel at ease and made me feel comfortable through the entire process. The Dr knew I had some nervousness so he talked me through the whole thing and made me really understand what I really needed. I originally planned to just fix a broken tooth and a filling that fell out and probably ignore all the dental work that needed to be done, but because I had such an excellent experience with him I plan to go back and get all the necessary work finished (which is a lot mind you, 3 cavities and a broken tooth) etc…. — not to mention, the detail billing was the topper they explained all charges as no other dentist has done before. Icing on the cake the office was very clean … I look forward to my next appointment! I went back and I love the fact that Dr Kim make sures I am aware of what’s getting done. Cost is always explained. I have more work to go but the process is definitely worth it he’s great at what he does. I highly recommend Dr Kim to all my associates no family

I highly recommend 10 West Dental! You are always greeted with a warm hello and are made to feel as comfortable as can be. The office is very cozy with plenty of magazines, a nice touch of modern decor, and complimentary drinks. The staff, especially Jennifer, is very friendly and helpful from accommodating appointments to assisting during dental procedures. Dr. Kim is also very friendly and highly knowledgable. Suffering from anxiety and panic attacks directed towards dentistry has always made me afraid to go get my dental check ups, cleaning, and to make sure my mouth is in a healthy state. When I went to my first appointment with Dr. Kim I was really impressed with his patience and how he really tried to make me calm and relaxed. Since then I have done multiple visits and am growing out of my fears. I would recommend this dentistry to anyone because it’s just amazing. Great atmosphere, the staff are so kind and helpful, and no complaints with all the dental work that has been done after multiple visits. Thank You so much!

I am not one who enjoys going to the dentist, because I always have something going on with my teeth. But Dr. Kim has been the only dentist who takes the time to explain everything in detail so that I knew exactly what was going on with my teeth. Not only was his exam painless and in great detail, but the dreaded root canal I had to get does not hurt me at all on day two. The staff at 10 West is also so amazing! They genuinely care about their clients and it shows. My 5 month old son was getting a little restless while waiting in the exam room for my husbands cleaning so the staff went out of their way to find something for him to watch in the room. The office is immaculate and beautiful! I am so glad to have found this dental office! I would recommend anyone to go here!
