If you want a caring, loving wonderful person to work on you and have 0 stress, this is definitely the place. From the minute you walk into the door till the second you leave you’ll feel like family is treating you and not just another dentist trying to slash your wallet. Had 2 fillings done that I couldn’t imagine going any smoother. Didn’t feel a thing and was explained everything step by step. It’s one thing being a normal patient to know that your in good hands, but another knowing that me being a dentist, she was doing everything above and beyond. I even learned some tips for better caring of my own patients.  For new and anyone just looking for a superstar dentist, it doesn’t get better than this. You’ll see!

Looking forward to my next appointment! That is something I have never said about going to the dentist. Dr. Oliviera and her staff are professional and very friendly. Everything is explained and shown to you so you know exactly what is going on. Pain? No pain, I think that was the best part. I am so happy my coworker referred me to her. HIGHLY recommended! The doc and her staff are so kind and professional – and they explain everything in a warm and empowering way. I felt immediately comfortable having my dental work done at this office – reminded me of my childhood dentist (who I love!) only more modern and tech -savvy. I’ve had just a few fillings at this office and honestly, the most you feel is a slight pinch when you’re getting numbed … the rest is a breeze!

As a newcomer to Santa Monica, I chose Dr. Jennifer because of her many positive reviews, and am pleased to add my support along with the myriad of other satisfied patients. Dr. Jennifer ‘s professionalism, skill and compassion is truly a rare find. She puts you at ease immediately, is approachable and clearly knowledgeable about dentistry. Dr. Jennifer should teach bedside manner. At the end of my appointment, I was trying to decipher the insurance lingo regarding my next treatment. Dr. Jennifer stopped what she was doing and explained exactly what would be happening by labeling a diagram of the mouth – translating the lingo into English! I brought it along with me to my next appointment as a useful tool that enabled me to fully understand the treatment. Additionally, I was very satisfied by the cleaning from Mary, dental hygienist. She took the time to explain the numbering system for teeth, empowering me to better communicate my needs and concerns. I learned more from Dr. Jennifer and Mary in one visit than years in other offices.

Very happy we found Dr. Akagi Oliveira! My son had his first appointment today. We are very pleased with the whole experience. Our experiences with dentists have been pretty bad ever since ours retired. The office is very welcoming. All up to date equipment and devices. We were told up front what our Insurance covers and doesn’t cover. She will be seeing our whole family now. Parking is easy, which we were told on the phone before the appointment. They text messaged me a reminder. They dont waste paper on meaningless forms. And they sent me a thank you email even before I left the building. Everyone in the office is extremely nice. Good find!!!

I had a great first eperience with Jennifer and her staff, after leaving a dentist I loved in San Francisco I was nervous about finding another as I have had some not so good experiences with other dentists in the past. I am so pleased I chose this office. There is a reason there are so many good reviews about this office on yelp, everyone I spoke to in the office were lovely on the phone and very accomodating when I had to reschedule with short notice. And Jennifer was so sweet and friendly too and explained eveything she was doing as she went. Definitely would recommend to everyone. 🙂

I was somewhat content with my previous dentist, whom I had not changed for years. It wasn’t the best service but it was OK. I came across Dr. Akagi because her office was very kind and accommodating with my schedule. The entire experience was great, from scheduling my appointment, to the follow up calls and emails. I was blown away at the quick and effective way in which they dealt with my insurance. Once at my consultation, the staff greeted me in a very friendly manner. The office is clean, well organized and comfortable, parking in the area was not an issue at all. Needless to say the music that was playing at the office was awesome 80’s rock.  I knew I was at the right place when sweet cherry pie from Warrant started playing.

Starting from my initial visit, I had a very good impression.  Loan, Dr. Oliveira’s dental assistant, took a detailed set of X Rays.  And when Dr. Oliveira came in, she patiently and thoroughly reviewed my teeth and gum health with me, and her other assitant Laura walked me through all of the charges for a crown in advance, which also took into consideration my insurance coverage.After my root canal, I needed the temporary crown while a permanent crown was being made.  Dr. Oliveira was booked that week, so I made the appointment with Dr. Dogra.  And even though this second appointment involved preparing the remaining tooth for a crown, which is a lengthy process including dental tools to prepare the remaining tooth to bond with the crown, I can say that it was actually a pleasant dental visit.  Dr. Dogra, who like Dr. Oliveira has a friendly personality, kept me informed about what she was doing as she performed her work, while asking me how I was doing throughout the process.  I really appreciate this practice, and it made the experience all the more comfortable.  Loan also assisted Dr. Dogra, and I felt she was very attentive and considerate throughout the process.

Dr. Oliveira & her staff are wonderful. They’re very good at what they do and I’m very pleased with my experience. First off, the office is very clean and organized, and wait time is minimal. Everyone in the office was very professional and knowledgeable. I really appreciated how she explained everything in detail to me – what she was going to do, why she was going to do it. The staff is also very knowledgeable about insurance and are willing to explain everything to you. I’ve been here about three times(?) now and I’ve been recommending her and her office to everyone I know. You can book an appointment online which is great!

I was recommended to Dr. Olivera from a coworker and I’m so glad I found her! I had a recent visit with another dentist I found on Yelp with great reviews, but he charges rip-off prices for cavity fillings so I wanted a second opinion. First off, her office is right down the street from my house so it’s much more accessible, and it has a cute homey ambiance. Now about Dr. Olivera… She is so sweet and knowledgeable. I really appreciated that she took the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions. She also uses modern techniques and technology, which made the appointment very comfortable for me. Hands down, the best experience I’ve had at the dentist! I even received a call from the front desk afterward to see how I was doing after my appointment! Dr. Olivera is passionate about her work and creates the most pleasant patient experience. I highly recommend her!

Dr. Jennifer Akagi is by far THE BEST Dentist I have had the pleasure of meeting and I have had my share of dentists. Every “bad” kind possible. Here are my top things I look for in being a consistent dental patient. Comfort – the office is soothing and comfortable. From the moment you walk in to sitting in the dreaded chair we all fear. BUT with the nice decor it makes this place very soothing. Communicating “$” – I have had so many bad experiences with Doctors not communicating to me pricing and out of pocket before a procedure happens. Dr. Akagi explain all of this! She also wants to make sure your insurance takes care of most of the visit. WIN WIN people.

I came here for the first time today and I have to say it’s the best experience I’ve had at a dentist. Dr. Oliveira is really really sweet. She made me feel really comfortable. She talks you through every before and after step which I liked. I loved that I didn’t have to wait a long time to get called in like I usually do at other places. This was literally in and out. I will definitely make this my regular dentist.

Everyone in the office was great, kind compassionate and patient. Great experience, outstanding service, knowledgeable and kind staff and Dr Olivera is awesome. Great listener, talked me through everything and was clear and professional.

Let me start by saying all dentists are bad dentists (because I have a fear of the dentist) that was until I came here. I (along with 90% of people) fear and have always feared the dentist. I have only seen 1 dentist my entire life and Dr. Jenny is the only other dentist that has made me feel comfortable, comfortable enough to say goodbye to my last dentist of 20 years. When I come across a GREAT doctor, restaurant or anything else, there is always one thing (sometimes small things) that really bother me but not here. Everyone here was amazing. The receptionist was very helpful, kind and went out of her way to give me info. The dental assistant, was also very nice and help calm me down. And Dr. Jenny, well I don’t think I could say a bad thing about her if I tried. She explained everything to me very clear and calm to the point where I wasn’t too scared to be there anymore.

I was very pleased from the moment I called to schedule a next day emergency appointment to check up on a sore tooth.  When I arrived I was nervous at first but then after the warm friendly greetings and fast service there were no worries.  They also did not over charge me.  I’m very please and happy to have finally found “The Dentist” that will help me fix my list of issues with open arms and no fear.

My first visit to a dentist since moving to the US from the UK and it was a great experience. All lovely welcoming people, hugely professional and a dentist I will definitely be staying with. Customer care was amazing before, during and after the visit, and explanation of cost was made very clear.

My experience here at this office has been one of the best so far. After moving to Santa Monica I was skeptical at finding a dentist, because many offices where I had gone previously had diagnosed treatment that was unnecessary. I was so happy when I found this office. I recently saw Dr.Dogra  and she was amazing! She not only explained her background to me  but she took the time to explain all treatment to me and prioritized my treatment . I did not once feel like this office was playing “bait and switch” tactics with me. All the fees were presented to me all up front. The organization this office has is great for someone like me that would like to know what my insurance will cover and what I have to pay. Dr.Dogra and the staff are amazing and I will be recommending many of my friends and family to this office

I called and came in as an emergency–they were so accommodating.  I was having severe pain in my mouth and wanted someone to look at it.  They got me in right away!  The reason I was most likely having severe pain was because I have a lot of anxiety going to the dentist.  I had one bad experience as a child and it still haunts me still.  It’s almost 40 years later!  I got to their office and noticed how calming it felt.  At first I thought I entered a spa or something.  I double checked with the front desk that I was at the correct location.  After being offered water (it was a hot day) they took me back and the doctor came back to introduce herself and she listened to me while I went on and on about nothing.  I do that when I’m nervous.  We actually started talking about my interest and I felt so relaxed.  She started the exam after that and unfortunately she told me (what I already secretly knew) was that I needed a root canal.  She called over to another office and booked my appointment right away.  I was able to drive straight to them.  Before I left,  I thanked her and her staff.  I was so appreciative that they took me in last minute and was able to answer all my questions.  I never felt rushed.  I know she was busy and had another patient but she never made me feel like she wanted me to leave.  I apologize to her other patient and let her know my situation and she smiled and said she completely understood.  Even her other patients are so nice and welcoming!  This experience has made me more comfortable going back and I know in the future I won’t let my teeth go so long without seeing a dentist!  The best part was the day after my root canal–they called to check up on me to make sure I was OK.  (they weren’t trying to sell me anything–just simply check how I was doing!)  I highly recommend Dr. Oliveira.  She’s amazing and calming.  She patiently listens and answers all my questions.  I honestly would be in so much pain now if I didn’t go to her.  It had been over 10 years since I saw a dentist and even with so much pain, I was on the fence about even going to one but I’m glad I did and I’m glad it was here.  Thank you Dr. Oliveira.  You answered all my questions and never once made me feel silly about asking simple things (my dental hygiene is not the greatest!).  I got amazing tips and a good referral for my root canal and now I’m scheduling to come back to make sure I don’t let my teeth get so bad again!  THANK YOU

I had my first visit at Dr. Oliveira’s office and I saw Dr. Pappas. She was so so nice and sweet. I knew I needed a ton of work and was super nervous, but Dr. Pappas was very calm and gentle and understanding. She explained everything clearly and showed me my xrays and pictures and never tried to pressure me. She had a “soft hand” and even did my cleaning which didn’t hurt at all. I highly recommend her, especially if you have a fear of dentists like me and always get cavities!

I would highly recommending Dr. Oliveira. There was no waiting time at the office, extremely friendly office staff, and I was seen immediately. The doctor took her time explaining everything and answering all of my questions. They are very concerned with your comfort and do everything they can to make you comfortable and relaxed. One of the best experiences I’ve had.

I am so happy I found this dentist office! My first visit was in December and I had Dr. Dogra (Dr. Oliveira was on Maternity leave) it was really nice, the staff was very nice and they were really accommodating as I had my newborn with me. There is meters to park at on a little side street or there is a lot behind the building, but they do not validate, so I usually try and park at the meters. The office seems very clean, and it is pretty small, which is good because they are not over booking appointments so both times I was in and out in a reasonable time. My most recent visit I had was with Dr. Oliveira. I can’t say enough good things about her. She was very gentle, explained every step (which was really reassuring as the patient) and used the newest tools and tricks to make is as least painful as possible. I would highly recommend her!

I went to Dr. Oliveira’s dental office this afternoon for a teeth cleaning and check up. I will definitely be coming back. The entire experience was very pleasant. Plenty of street parking or parking in the back. The office is nice and clean. The X-ray technician, dentist and hygienist who all saw me were very nice, helpful and got me in & out as quickly as they could. I’m very happy I found a Westside dentist so I don’t have to schlep to Miracle Mile anymore.

The best dental experience I’ve ever had!!! Dr. Oliveira was knowledgeable, kind, gentle and entertaining! She answered all of my questions and gave me manageable tips! Her staff were friendly and her service was quick and enjoyable! Appreciate everything, see you next week!

Dr. Oliveira is kind, caring, gentle and knowledgable. She educates you on everything she is doing and is happy to answer any questions throughout the appointment. Dr. Oliveira also shows you how much your bill will be BEFORE she starts working on you – I have never met a doctor who does that; but it was greatly appreciated!

I’ve always been anti-dentist. Hated the noises, the pain, the discomfort, the environment — all of it. But I LOVED my visit to Dr. Oliveira’s office. Any nerves I had going in were immediately dispelled by the welcoming, friendly office staff. The woman at the front desk chatted with me, answered my (probably silly) questions, and made me feel right at home. The dental hygienist who did my x-rays and started my cleaning was also super friendly and gentle. X-rays are never a fun experience for me, but she made it as quick and painless as possible. I echo the sentiments of all the other positive reviews when I say that Dr. Oliveria put me at ease and made me feel comfortable as soon as she walked in the room. She talked me through each and every step of my exam and cleaning, which I loved. She explained what tools she was using and what I could expect to feel/hear with each one. She took photos of my teeth and pointed out things like plaque build up, stains, inflamed gums and cavities. It was simultaneously disgusting and fascinating. She took her time explaining the photos and answering any questions I had about my teeth. After she said I have cavities (my first – boo!), she pointed them out in the photos and walked me through next steps, fillings, etc. I don’t feel nervous for my follow-up appointments, because I know everyone at Dr. Oliveira’s office will take great care of me.

I hadn’t been to the dentist in years when I came here– and now I can finally say I’ve found an office that doesn’t make me want to put off my next appointment. At any medical office, there are 3 groups of people you have to interact with: the office staff, the doctor’s assistants, and the doctor. My experience has generally been that, if you’re lucky, maybe 2 of these will be friendly, competent, and professional. Rarely do you get the whole package. This office, however, is an exception. Every single person I interacted with had excellent social skills, good communication, bedside manner, and professionalism. Dr. Oliveira and her staff listened attentively to my concerns, and  took the time to educate me without being preachy and judgmental, made sure I understood what they were doing and exactly how much it would cost, and didn’t try to push unnecessary procedures. They were all genuinely warm and sensitive and made me feel like I was the only patient there.

After damaging two crowns in two years, I realized it was time for a new dentist. One that would build me a flawless crown that wouldn’t crack or sit incorrectly. I stumbled across Dr. Oliveira (formerly Akagi!) after reading the numerous 5-star yelp reviews and I am so glad that I did.Her office is warm and welcoming. Her staff is just amazing. The nicest ladies ever! So how about the services? Well, awesome of course! Dr. Oliveira did an extremely thorough examination of my mouth. She even took pictures of my teeth and rated the gum levels between each tooth. After finding my problem areas, she sat with me and went over exactly what procedures needed to be done.  

Dr. Oliveira was recommended by a friend who is also a dentist and I am so happy I went! The doctor and office personnel are so nice! The office is very nice as well and she has all state of the art equipment, Dr. Oliveira is very patient, thorough and explains everything! Whether you need extensive work, a filling or cosmetic work, I highly recommend Dr. Oliveira and her team!

The best dentist I’ve ever been to. I didn’t think that all of the 5-star reviews could be accurate but they are. Dr. Oliveira is friendly and kind, the office never feels overcrowded or too busy for you; it’s clean and comfortable and the whole staff is helpful and friendly. They talk you through the costs up front, answer questions without making you feel dumb for asking and help set up a dental plan for you. Dr. Oliveira is very sensitive to how her clients feel and is very gentle when cleaning teeth or taking care of other dental procedures like fillings and crowns. She always makes sure that you are comfortable before proceeding. I really appreciate this dental office and highly recommend them.
