Everyone always has bad stories about their dentist, but I am happy to say I do not fall into that category.  Once I found Dr. Shahkarami at SoCalSmiles, going to the dentist has become a breeze. She truly cares for her patients, taking the time to explain everything and answer any questions you have. She is also very detail oriented and thorough, which as a patient makes me feel comfortable knowing my dental work will be done right the first time. The rest of the staff at SoCalSmiles is also great. They are all really knowledgeable and helpful. The only down side is that I have to drive a long distance to get there, but I am willing to do it every time because I know I am in great hands with Dr. Shahkarami.

Dr. Shahkarami is the best. A friend referred me yesterday and I was a little nervous going to a dentist I’d never seen. Especially since I was experiencing severe mouth pain. From the second I walked in the door I felt so at ease. They took me in right away and everyone made me feel very comfortable. You can tell Dr. Shahkarami knows what she’s doing and is an excellent dentist. They were very thorough and I left with a big smile on my face. Would definitely recommend!

The last dentist I had was a nightmare. I dreaded every visit and every teeth cleaning. All that changed though when I visited Dr. Shahkarami. You will not find a better dentist!!  She was warm and friendly. So personable and so nice. I felt comfortable in the dentist chair and confident in her knowledge and abilities. I’ve had dentists in the past where I really questioned if the dental work they were proposing was actually necessary, but with Dr. Shahkarami I trust that I am in good hands. I’ve recommended a lot of my friends her way and wanted to post my feelings on Yelp to help spread the word!

Dr. Shahkarami is the best dentist in Los Angeles! The office is lovely and very clean. Dr. S herself is very personable. She is genuinely interested in her patients and goes above and beyond to satisfy their every need. I chipped my front tooth, and she was able to get me in right away. She was quick and it looks better than before! I am usually hesitant to go to the dentist, but she made my experience easy and painless.

This is my first review on yelp, however, I feel that this dental office deserves the acknowledgment! I found this office browsing on yelp and decided to check them out based on the reviews and I definitely agree with the 5 star rating! I have been a patient since last summer and every visit to SoCal Smiles has been great! Everyone is so nice and personable which definitely helps ease some of my dental anxiety. The office is very clean and organized which is something I can really appreciate(I work in the healthcare field). Right when you walk in Sara and Agita greet you with a warm welcome. Brenda did a great job taking my X-rays, Quick and gentle! I was seen by Dr Shahkarami for my initial exam. She was thorough and took the time to explain the treatment I needed. She is very genuine and prioritized my treatment in my best interests. Agita then went over my insurance and broke down everything which made the costs easy to understand. The hygienist Darwin is thorough and very gentle! I am currently doing Invisalign (after having braces for four years in high school and not wearing my retainer after =/). I am halfway done and I am very happy so far. No one ever notices I have my trays on! I’m glad I found SoCal Smiles and definitely recommed this office to anyone looking for a new dentist!

Dr Shahkarami, is in one word, INCREDIBLE! She is kind and caring and extremely meticulous in everything she does. She contacted all of my doctors to make sure that I was in good health for the procedures that needed to be done. It turned out that some of the dental work could have involved major complications and had Dr. Shahkarami not checked and worked with my doctors, some of the work that needed to be done could have resulted in very serious problems. So far my teeth are at a point where they look beautiful even though more work is still needed. A HUGE THANKS to Dr. Shahkarami and her entire staff, hi Andy! There is more work to be done and I will be going back to her as needed. Thank you all so very much!

This is truly the BEST dentist ever. I definitely recommend this dental office to anyone looking for a dentist. The staff here is amazing. I saw Dr. Shahkarami on my first visit and right away I knew that she is a caring and professional dentist. She explains everything in detail and makes you feel SO comfortable. She is not the dentist that will push you to have work done. Everyone at the office is great. Agita at the front desk is so sweet and very good at explaining all of your benefit information. Andy and Brenda have both called me the day after my procedures to check-up on me and see how I was doing. Everyone is so gentle and kind. I got a deep cleaning with the hygienist (forgot her name) she was wonderful! I felt like I had a new mouth. Dr. Chong is amazing; he was able to redo one of my old root canals since I had a horrible job done before (at another dental office). I had no pain during any of the procedures and the recovery was not bad either. Minimal pain afterwards but that’s expected. I have never waited more than one minute in the waiting room. They call you in right away. They also send you text message reminders for your appointments, how awesome is that! Dental work is pricy as we all know, but for the wonderful work they do here I would pay that price. Thank you for the amazing work that you do!

I am soooo glad I found Dr. Shahkarami! After a horrible dentist experience last year, I was a little hesitant to just randomly find a dentist. The last one over charged me and told me I needed like 3 fillings and I really didn’t think my teeth were that bad. When in doubt, refer to Yelp…so I did. Called a few and SoCal smiles said they had a Yelp promotion going on so I booked an appointment for a check up and basic teeth cleaning. I had to reschedule a few times but they were so nice about accommodating me. The place is clean and Dr. Shahkarami was amazing. She genuinely cares about the patient and wants to get to know you. I also had a lot of questions and she was very patient with me and answered them all. She is also very honest which I respect so much. She will tell you her truthful opinion about whether certain things need to be done or not…like filings. I did not need them, which is not what the other dentist told me. She also personally cleaned my teeth which I think was really nice. All the staff were so nice too, it made my visit very pleasant. I would highly recommend all my friends and family. *At first it may be a little hard to find, the place is in the building in the back of Tarzana Square, so not one of the shops surrounding the plaza.
