Hands down the best Dentist! Caring, attention to detail and such a professional. I had a Root Canal done by him and let me tell you it was painless, like magic! I was perfectly fine within less than an hour. I live over an hour away, with plenty dental offices in my area and I would still make the drive to Dr. Lee’s office any day. He made me feel very comfortable, he took his time, and again NO PAIN. Him and his wife are so incredible, everything was easy going, and will work with you on the prices. I left very happy, and in such a shock to find out there is still honest Dentist out there that truly want the best for their patients. I highly recommend Dr. Lee’s office, you will not regret it. I’ve been seeing Dr. Lee late last month and since then I had two procedures which included wisdom teeth extractions. If you read his bio, you will know his years of expertise and knowledge is all facts once you consult with him. He is very thorough, professional, an expert and simply a great person. As far as the procedures are concerned, you can tell he is experienced and just simply a “master of his craft.” I experienced minimal pain during my procedures. What I was very impressed with Dr. Lee is he followed up with me the the next day by call and text to check how I was doing. He provided his direct contact so if I had an issues and questions I can contact him direc As far as his dental office is concerned, it’s pristine and clean. For the staff, they are all great. Mrs. Lee has the motherly touch, especially if you have that “fear” of going to the dentist. It’s has a family environment that makes the experience smooth and enjoyable. So if your looking for a dentist that is knowledgeable, efficient, has passion for his patients and work, enjoyable, and simply gets job done, Dr. Lee is the Dentist for you!

Dr. Lee is the absolute best! As a consummate professional, Dr. Lee is always efficient, kind and caring. He always ensures I am feeling ok, regardless if it’s a teeth cleaning or having wisdom teeth pulled. He and his staff are friendly and always make me feel comfortable and welcome. With every appointment I’ve had with Dr. Lee, I am always certain that I am/have received the highest level of dental care. I trust and highly recommend Dr. Lee and his office!

Dr. Lee makes going to the dentist a very easy process. As soon as I walk in for my appointment, I never have to wait a long time. Dr. Lee gets right to work and is very easy to communicate with. He keeps you informed on what he is doing every step of the way and always makes sure you are completely numb before proceeding with any treatment. His practice is super clean and modern as well, which makes every visit even more comfortable. Dr. Lee is the best!

If you follow my reviews then you know that I am very careful when I decide to review a company, service or product. Reviews are meant to be a guideline to help people decide on whether they should work with a company, use a service or try a product. First and foremost, I have extremely high anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist. I had put off going to the dentist for many years because I was terrified. The last time I had been in a dentist chair I had an anxiety attack and it took me a whole year to complete the dental procedures that I needed done, when the procedure could have been done in two hours.   About four years ago I started reading about the different links between oral and general health and realized that I needed to seriously take care of my oral health the way I am taking care of my general health. I was living in Duarte, California at the time and decided I would find a dentist near where I lived. I was so afraid to call the dental offices. I would look at their websites, look at their reviews and PRAY A LOT! I finally decided to call Dr. Hanfu Lee’s office in Arcadia, California. I told his assistant that when I go to the dentist I have extreme anxiety and was afraid. She assured me that Dr. Lee was very gentle, knowledgeable  and would be able to work on my teeth no matter what I may experience. So, I decided to TAKE A CHANCE on Dr. Lee and his dental office. His dental office is very clean and they offer water, coffee, snacks while you wait. When I first started going to him my anxiety was so strong that my whole body would literally shake while he was working on my teeth. Dr. Lee was so patient, so kind and allowed me the time and space I needed to calm down. He and his staff made me feel so comfortable that now after four years when I am in his chair I don’t experience the anxiety. Before Dr. Lee starts any procedure he explains what he is about to do. In my case he would also ask me if I wanted to watch a movie, which I always did to take my mind off of things. I love watching the movie “Monster-in-Law” starring Jennifer Lopez, Jane Fonda, Wanda Sykes and Michael Vartan. Side note, Jane Fonda and Wanda Sykes are hilarious in this movie!   Recently, I had made an appointment for my mom to have just a consultation with Dr. Lee. During the consultation, Dr. Lee realized that my mom needed some emergency work done that could not wait and also she thought that she was going to lose a tooth but he was able to treat the tooth and save it. Later that evening, Dr. Lee text me to check on my mom and to see how we were doing. Dr. Hanfu Lee is the most compassionate, patient, caring, knowledgeable and professional dentist I know. If you have ever dealt with anxiety or you are fearful of going to the dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Hanfu Lee. He is great with dealing with children, elders, high anxiety issues or whatever you are concerned with. I moved back to the Los Angeles area but still drive about 30 miles from Los Angeles to Arcardia for Dr. Hanfu Lee’s dental services! Now, if I could just convince him to open up a second practice in Los Angeles!

Got my upper wisdom teeth out by Dr. Lee! It was painless!! Ate Arcadia Chinese food a couple hours after with no problems! Btw thumbs up to Capitol Seafood on Huntington. 🙂
I’ve been going to this dental office for many years now. Getting a cleaning here is a real joy as the hygienist is gentle, uses various gels and mouthrinses to help numb you more, and uses advanced technology such as lasers to help my gums really heal up well. She is also extremely friendly. I used to have 5 mm pockets, but after help from her and better oral hygiene, my gums have significantly improved to 3 and 2 mm pockets now. The office is the most beautiful office I have seen! Also, one can see that he does beautiful cosmetic work from all the pictures of cases adorning his waiting room and reception area. He really is the best dentist I have ever been to! Dr. Lee is a UCLA dental school graduate (Go Bruins!), and is definitely extremely intelligent and friendly. Disclaimer: I am a dental student so I know a lot about teeth! I don’t know why there are such negative reviews below from the Groupon people. I guess haters gonna hate. Dr. Lee is very gentle and getting injections I honeslty barely even feel the needle. He’s had 30 years of experience performing everything from implants to basic fillings and is really the best dentist I know of in terms of overall gentleness, compassion when explaining things, knowledge, technology, and scope of practice. It is unfortunate that others had a negative experience here, but I guess those that don’t get cleanings regularly and buy Groupons to go to a new dentist for a cleaning probably don’t realize that the worse shape your mouth is in, the more it will bleed and the more it will actually hurt during a proper cleaning! Steven below had a “cap popped” into him or in other words needed a deep cleaning which can cost 5x the amount of money but Dr. Lee probably just charged the groupon fee. One can think about it this way, gums that aren’t taken care of well are inflamed and infected with bacteria that is within plaque. Inflammation causes bleeding because of thinning of the gums as well as increased blood flow (the reason that if you are allergic to something and you get inflammation it gets all red and also why gums get more swollen when infected). Also, inflammation causes increased pain due to a heightened response to pain (read wikipedia if want more info)! Getting off all the tartar/calculus/plaque that has built up over months is sometimes something that requires more force. Gums have the potential to heal if given a clean environment so removing all the tartar is essential for proper healing. Furthermore, the “bill” that was stated above by another patient is not a “bill.” It is an estimate of how much further treatment would cost if decided to perform said treatments. And yes, I will admit, dentistry can be expensive. That is why wisdom teeth extractions at oral surgeons are over 2000 dollars for 4 teeth and an hour appointment! But, that is why preemptive work is done on teeth, to actually save money for more costly procedures in the future. Lastly, it is unfortunate that one of the patients felt sensitivity after the treatment of his teeth. Since I’m a dental student now I know some things about dental work and sometimes the patient can perceive things differently because they do not know what actually is going on. Pain is not the only indicator of a tooth problem. Root canals are actually often done on teeth that are dead and can no longer feel anything at all! A filling that is falling out or that is leaking is an indicator that there is a cavity underneath an already drilled filling. Sensitivity can occur post-operatively from drilling because taking a drill to a tooth can always be a traumatic experience especially if the filling was already deep and close to the pulp (the nerves in the teeth). However, to save the tooth from its ill fated ultimate destruction if the cavity is allowed to continue growing, a dentist needs to sometimes drill on a tooth to clean out all the decayed tooth structure. A filling is much cheaper than a possible 2000 dollar implant down the road and sensitivity can often go away soon or after a few months, but it can also linger as the tooth has been through a lot. I am sure Dr. Lee had the patient’s best interests in mind, and I am also sure the X-rays would show that they were necessary treatments. I actually implore the above reviewer to go and get the x-rays from Dr. Lee and bring them to another dentist to get a second opinion on those fillings that were done, and I am sure that another dentist would agree with him. If you guys have any questions about dental procedures or dental work just comment on this review! I’d love to help explain why a dentist did something or why things are necessary. Dr Lee is an amazing dentist! I have been coming to him since I was 5 for my dental work and I would never go elsewhere. His hygienist Rae is the best she is the only person I have ever and will ever get a cleaning from. You never have to wait in a room full of people for a while before your called up for your appointment. He sees people one at a time which I love because it means that you get his undivided attention for the remainder of your visit. It’s a small office which means that you get treated like family when you come in. His office is so clean and very modern looking, and the tasty pretzel snacks are great too!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Lee!!! Let me first express that I NEVER write reviews, however I am compelled to write a review about the excellent care I have and continue to receive from Dr. Lee and his entire staff. To begin with, I needed A LOT of work to be done. I’m telling you, I needed extractions, gum treatments, fillings and orthodontic work. I am the BIGGEST sissy ever hence why I neglected to take better care of my teeth. I was afraid to have any work done because of bad experiences with previous dentists. Dr. Lee is very gentle and extremely caring. He takes time to explain each procedure and puts me at ease. His expertise and compassion make him by far the best dentist I have ever been to and I will NEVER go anywhere else. To say that I highly recommend Dr. Lee and ALL of his staff, Rae, Rose, Crystal or anyone else that I forgot to name is an understatement. They all go above and beyond to provide a welcoming and catering environment. Dr. Lee truly is an expert and does a stellar job. My teeth and gums are looking FANTASTIC. He is brilliant at what he does. He’s a perfectionist and a master in his field.   I am and forever will be grateful to Dr. Lee for doing such an awesome job on my teeth.
