My wife who is a dentist referred me to Dr. Jacobsen because she knows Dr. Jacobsen’s wife from the Arcadia school district. I had a toothache that was so painful that i couldn’t do anything. i called dr. jacobsen’s office and they had a 6 am appointment available. that was really convenient for me because i didn’t have to miss work. Dr. Jacobsen told me that the tooth had a crack from grinding. he temporarily filled the tooth and took care of the nerve that was causing so much pain. He explained everything to me step by step and showed me the decay in the cracked tooth. The pain went away immediately. He followed up later in the day to see how i was doing. He is a competent and caring dentist who has a lot of experience in dentistry. i recommend him to anyone who is looking for a dentist.

His office staff is very approachable and they have very convenient office hours, especially early in the morning (6am!) for those who work and have trouble getting time off. I don’t like going to the dentist. but i’m willing to drive 1+ hours in LA traffic to see dr jacobsen… and i have been for 15 years. in those years, i have been treated with respect, patience, and an all around stellar level of care from dr j and his entire team (thanks judy!). they’ll always spend an extra couple of minutes with me to explain things if i have questions… and i really feel like dr j has my best interests at heart — and he really cares about his patients… AND i’m starting to feel ok about going to the dentist. thanks dr j.

Thank goodness for Dr Gary Jacobsen! I just lost my top front porcelain crown this morning. Is frightening to feel such a large tooth just disappear! I quickly pushed it back on and began process to have it repaired asap. Remarkably, I was able to get a same day appointment with Dr Jacobsen. His kind and efficient front office staff quickly made my appointment and handled insurance billing. Upon arrival Dr Gary and his technician quickly did X-rays and were able to gently and painlessly cement it back on. I’m now as good as new. Thank you Dr J!

I have been going to Dr. Jacobsen for about 15 years and always felt great leaving the office… I knew that whatever work was done–whether regular checkups/cleaning or repairing a problem— was performed by the best possible by the most qualified and congenial folks I deal with in any service business. Dr. Jacobsen is clearly the best dentist I have ever visited, and I had two before that taught at USC and were famous in the area…maybe Dr. J. teaches as well…his staff is proficient and very sensitive. My family & I have been patients of Dr Gary Jacobsen for over 20 yrs. Dr Jacobsen is always concerned about the patient & the comfort of his patient at all times. If you have had a difficult procedure he follows up later to make sure that you are ok. My daughters are in their 20’s & 30’s & they continue to see Dr Jacobsen. They have even sent their boyfriends to Dr Jacobsen! Dr Jacobsen & his office staff are very caring & helpful to keep you & your teeth on the right track. Sylvia the hygienist still cleans my husbands teeth & he has dementia. They have been so good to our family. I could never imagine going to another dentist. The staff is like family, I love them so! The staff at Gary B Jacobsen are excellent. My calls were returned the same day. When I walked into the office I was greeted with a smile from the receptionist. The dental hygienist that cleaned my teeth was very personable and professional, she answered my questions and made suggestions of things to try. I had a question regarding my insurance and the office manager took the time to review the policy with me and answer my questions, I really appreciated this.

We LOVE Dr. Matt. He is so patient. My 3 year old just had an experience where she was TOUGH for him because she had 3 cavities and I didn’t want to sedate her and she really probably should have been. She was wiggly and crying so like I said, tough!He was so patient and didn’t make me feel like I was wasting his time. We came back a few weeks later and tried again. She started wiggly again but he and his assistant had the trick and showed her such love. She DID IT! She didn’t have to be sedated!! We have been coming here for years and will forever! Ps the assistant we LOVE is Amy. She is the best too!

My dentist, Gary Jacobsen DDS and his office have helped to change my dental life. I am not a “good dental patient”. I am fearful and anxious and just stepping into the waiting room freaks me out. This all goes back to the thirteen cavities I had as a child and my childhood dentist who was less than patient and kind. Then there’s the four extractions and the cutting of my gums when I was ten. I want to never have another cavity. Just going for a check-up makes me nervous because I’m afraid I’ll hear bad news. I’ve even dreamt my teeth fell out. Well, I’ve been going to Dr. Jacobsen for a while now and things are better. I’m still not a good patient, but they help me with my fears. Unfortunately I have had to have a couple of cavities filled (don’t eat Altoids, you heard it here first). I’ve broken a couple teeth – I grind my teeth at night and on the freeway. I now have a night guard. Dr. J’s gentleness, confidence and dedication to excellence make me less worried during my appointments. When I have to get THE SHOT, they numb me beforehand with some numbing gel and I hardly feel it. After that I’m good to go. The assistants are very kind and cheer me up and the appointment people are always helpful. I’ve even gone in at 6 AM to get dental work before going to work. The insurance billing is good and they take my Delta Dental.

Every procedure he has done, which have been 4 bridges with crowns, deep cleaning, and unfortunately teeth extractions, have been done painlessly and with great satisfaction.The Doctor and his staff really make you feel at ease. Gary B. Jacobsen, D.D.S. & his staff are very personable and caring people. I had not been to Dr.Jacobsen before. From the first phone call I made to his office to the end of the dental procedure I felt comfortable. The office is clean and pleasant. The people are clean and pleasant. You know how turkey burger has small fragments of bone in it, well, I bit down on one and part of my tooth broke off. Yikes! The dentist where I was getting my teeth cleaned took an x-ray and said I needed a root canal, but I was afraid of that so I told her to pull the tooth instead. But then I decided to get a 2nd opinion. And I found Dr.Jacobsen. He took an x-ray and said I did not need a root canal. Only remove the old filling, refill it, and crown it. What a relief. I have not had any dental work done in many many years due to fear. I have TMJ disorder and they were able to do the x-rays and the work without hurting my jaw. I was very worried about the drugs used to numb my mouth and they knew what drug would be the best for me, and they were right. I was very afraid of the shot and they were calm, kind, and gentle. My experience with Gary B. Jacobsen, D.D.S. and his staff was very very good. I’ve already scheduled my cleaning appointment. Before I went to Dr.Jacobsen I checked out his web site, and it is very informative.
