My wife took our 2 kids to meet with Dr. Nissen yesterday, they so kindly offer free consultations. The whole visit , from meeting Miss Kim, up front and than Dr. Nissen, was outstanding. Miss Kim explained the whole process and than Dr.Nissen even further . Dr.Nissen was very accommodating to our kids`s needs, especially our daughter, who was very scared. Dr.Nissen was kind, welcoming and very patient. She also answered all the questions our kids had. The office environment is very calming and kid friendly.

Dr. Nissen is a great orthodontist and her office has a spectacular staff. When you walk in you will be greeted with a smile and promptly taken care of. The oral care is equally as impressing, their experienced staff sets them apart from other orthodontic offices. Personally I was first a patient in middle school and just finished my last set of braces pre and post surgery. They made me feel important by constantly checking up on me and doing everything they could to answer any questions and make me feel comfortable concerning my braces!

My experience so far has been wonderful at Dr. Shannon Hilgers Nissen’s office, she is very professional and yet very caring. Explains the procedure and what may or may not take place which makes me feel at ease, because as an adult I was very concerned to have braces yet Dr. Hilgers and the entire staff have been so caring, they make me feel extremely comfortable from the moment I come in the door. My children came to her dad Dr.Hilgers back in the 90’s and we where extremely happy with him as well, now that he is retired and met his amazing daughter I feel comfortable with her, you know what they say: “An Apple does not fall far from the tree”. Dr. Shannon Hilgers-Nissen is talented, knowledgeable and gifted in her field, I am sure they have some very interesting father – daughter conversations. Coming from a family of dentists, I am pretty particular in who I choose for oral care. I can honestly say that Dr. Shannon Hilgers Nissen’s practice is first rate. She has a natural talent for orthodontic care (as a third-generation orthodontist, it must be in her blood) and is very caring of her patients. My personal favorite though is front office Kimberley. She won me over to the team the second I met her. Genuinely interested in others, she makes each experience at the office a positive one. So thankful to have landed in this practice via a referral from my dentist, Dr. Schneider, and one of my best friends!

This was my first visit to Dr. Nissen’s office. My fixed lower retainer had come unglued so I needed to see someone right away. The office staff was very understanding and friendly. They got me in right away to see Dr. Nissen. The waiting area was very nice, a beautiful room with thoughtful amenities. The called my name so quickly that I only was able to enjoy the teas, cookies, comfy for a short time- but I was still very impressed. Overall it was an excellent experience! Thank you.

Dr. Hilgers and the entire staff are wonderful.  My daughter’s teeth are looking great, scheduling was easy and  they worked cooperatively with our family dentist.  Dr. Hilgers noticed a very slight problem my daughter’s tongue that was causing her two front teeth to be pushed forward and so she referred us to get speech therapy.  My daughter went to this therapy and now all is well!  Thank you Dr Hilgers for being a kind and thorough orthodontist.

My 16 YO son finished his orthodontics 2 years ago and we returned today for a retainer repair. He was thrilled to be warmly greeted and remembered by the team. Over the past 5 years of provided services, I couldn’t be more happy with the expertise and professionalism of this group. And the outcome, with respect to my son’s teeth and overall appearance — everything I could have hoped for. Thank you.

If you have been in this area for some decades you might remember that there were only two orthodontists to go to around here and one of them was Dr. Nissen’s dad, Dr. Hilgers and he was the bomb. So when my kids needed braces I knew where I was going. I heard he was still practicing and his daughter was in practice with him. Their practice did not disappoint. He has since retired but in those years I got to know the staff and Dr. Nissen and then decided I really wanted to get my teeth re-straightened. I’d had braces (w/a diff orthodontist) but common practice back then didn’t include long term retainer wearing (either a night only kind or a thin wire behind just the bottom lower teeth to keep the whole bite overall super straight). So I went in for a consult with this great feeling of knowing their very track record which I have to say was huge – everyone in the practice is incredibly professional but also super friendly. Turnover over the years is zero and that says a lot – you can tell they genuinely enjoy each other and what they’re doing. To make things even better my insurance covered a pretty great portion so I was excited about “treating myself” to something that maybe most people didn’t really notice but I wasn’t super happy with. I have had TMJ and I have had gum recession issues in the past, so I really REALLY wanted to make sure I worked with someone who knew what they were doing. Now I have straight teeth again!!! And so do my kids! You can’t go wrong putting yourself in their care. Dr. Nissen is super knowledgeable and really focused on making sure you are happy all along the way and especially with the results. She is patient – she’s not about to compromise your results with getting you in and out. No one there is. And you’ll love the front office staff too in that they always have it together and this place runs on time! Having several friends who were patients as kids and now have returned with their kids to get their work done says a lot. The consistency to excellence is always paramount here.

Pain to get into the office from how the intersection is set up, but totally worth the stop! Every part of your experience within the office is great! From the front desk with her beautiful teeth and most friendly personality to Brooke Benford who helps you out with your treatment with the biggest smile and friendliest welcoming as well. It kind of throws you off because dental offices aren’t usual this friendly. Then you get to Dr. Shannon who goes through every single option with you and really, truly takes the time to listen to your needs and goes through what would work best for you with your teeth and budget. They also have a flexible payment plan! Great place to be even with the pain of braces.

I just love my orthodontist! Besides being a fantastic ortho, Dr. Nissen is a kind, compassionate, lovely person who always acts an advocate for her patients. Her office staff are also always professional and such pleasure to deal with. I had TMJ issues prior to surgery and Dr. Nissen immediately ordered a splint for me at no additional cost. I just had double jaw surgery this past week and was completely blown away today when I received a beautiful flower arrangement delivered to my door with a hand written note from the HNC offices wishing me a speedy recovery. These folks really care about their patients. If you are looking for a top ortho with experience in TMJ issues, orthognathic surgery cases and more–look no further this is the place you want to trust with your teeth and face!
