I have been under Dr. Vargas’ care for over 2 years. She has saved me from an infection on my tooth root without my knowledge till i went to see her on an unrelated cracked tooth. I had no idea that was even infected till she showed me the X-rays and photos. It could have traveled to my central nervous system. Her staff in Cumming is a fun group and kept me calm as we worked to fix the issue and get me back to good oral care. I thank God for Dr. Vargas and her team. If you need the best dental care and someone who will pay attention to the details look no further.

I was so happy to find North Atlanta Dentist for my family. The hygienist was thorough with Explaining and cleaning my teeth. One of the best cleaning I ever had in years. I have some anxiety (who doesn’t going to the dentist) and a terrible gag reflex. they have always been very patient and accommodating. my kids went here when they were teens and they were very good with them too.

This was the first cleaning visit after the pandemic started. I felt extremely safe in the office. They implemented so many precautions to keep themself and the patient safe. You wait in the car until they are ready for you, they measure your temperature, they make you wash your hands with soap, rinse your mouth with hydrogen peroxide solution. Everybody wears masks ( 2 at the same time), gloves, face shield, and disposable gowns. And they do not use high water pressure instruments to avoid aerosol, but only manual ones.. It couldn’t have been better! Great job of keeping your associates and customer safety as top priority. Of course the service was great as usual!

Very friendly and personal staff. I always have a wonderful experience at their DULUTH Office. My dental hygienist Rodica is sooo awesome. She makes everyone’s day that much better with her wit and humor. Dr. Sandra Vargas is the most compassionate dentist I have ever had bar none! She performed dental work with absolute perfection and even saw me a few minutes early. Her entire staff was very energized, easily conversed with me and I felt like a wayward traveler had finally made it to heaven! She explained all my options prior to any dental work and I was always kept informed by her directly. I had an emergency tooth extraction that she performed absolutely flawlessly with no pain or discomfort whatsoever!! I never felt nervous or uncomfortable as Dr. Vargas exudes pure confidence. I have to deduct a point for poor communication. I scheduled with, “I’d like to make an appointment with Dr. Vargas,” then showed up to find I’m scheduled with someone else (a new dentist). Another time, I was specifically scheduled with Dr. Vargas, but on arrival given to someone else new to the practice. (I did at least get to see Dr. Vargas then when she came in a few times to give advice.) I find this practice deceptive and unbecoming; at least be honest about which dentist the patient will see. Other than that, however, I have been happy with the office. I have zero complaints about the work performed, even when done by a fairly new dentist. So I will continue to go there. I *do* recommend them, but let’s demand openness and honesty about which dentist they schedule us for. It’s perfectly fine to say, “Dr. Vargas is booked solid through February, but Dr. X is available, and he’s great because.

And yet, another very pleasant visit to my dentist! I had my routine cleaning which was again, excellent and also a root canal instead of the scheduled filling on another tooth. Dr. Vargas proactively recommended it after reviewing the x-rays, and after about one painless hour I was on my way back to work!; I didn’t even need any pain medication. Wonder full dental care, I highly recommend Dr. Vargas and North Atlanta Family Dentistry!

I have switched dentist due to moving AND my old dentist drilling and charging for cavities that didn’t exist.. Having Saturday available dentist is very important to me, and this did not let me down. The work was done pretty quickly and thoroughly and the dentist and dental hygienist were kind and courteous. I had a horrible toothache from an impacted wisdom tooth and did not have a dentist yet since I moved to Georgia. I checked the internet and found that Dr. Vargas’ office took emergency appointments and even has Saturday hours 8 am to 1 pm. I called the office at 8:15 am on a Saturday as a new patient and explained that I was suffering with a toothache. The receptionist was extremely nice and caring she asked if I could get to the office at 9 am so, I eagerly accepted the appointment. I thought I would have been giving a hard time not being a prior patient but that was absolutely not the case. I provided my insurance information over the phone so it was confirmed prior to my appointment which was a time saver. I made it to the office at about 8:50 am. I only waited there for 15 minutes. Actually, my wait was more like only 5 minutes considering as a new patient I had to fill out my dental history etc. The dental assistance I met first was extremely patient and so caring. She took a full set of x-rays. I had not been to the dentist for a while so I requested a full set of X-rays. She was gentle and patient with me considering a have difficultly taking dental x-rays. After the x-rays were done I immediately meet Dr. Gloria Alvarez she was extremely nice and immediately identified the problem with my wisdom tooth as well as some leaking/loose fillings. She advised me that my wisdom tooth must be removed and I asked for nitrous oxide. Dr. Alvarez ensured me that I would not need it. I explained that I hate pain and had several teeth pulled when I was young and I remember how much pain I was in. Dr. Alvarez promised that I would not feel pain and the initial shot would not hurt much more than a prick. She ensured me that she would not pull my tooth useless she was sure that I would not feel pain. She was right the initial needle was quick and almost painless, the rest of the shots were completely painless. Her assistant provided me with my estimate of out of pocket costs ( my deductible) so I did not have a surprise after the procedure was done. It was very reasonable so I approved. While awaiting my mouth to be completely numb, a dental hygienist who was also extremely nice and gentle evaluated my needs for future teeth cleaning. When she was done, my mouth was completely numb and Dr. Alvarez immediate checked to applied further numbing to ensure that I would feel no pain with the extraction. She asked if I thought I needed nitrous oxide and I was surprised to say that I did not because my mouth was virtually painlessly numbed without it. Dr, Alvarez extracted my tooth in approximately 5 minutes!! She sutured the area and provided me with prescriptions of antibiotics, pain relievers.I was in and out of the office in less than an hour and a half. Everyone at Dr. Vargas office was so caring, cheerful, and nice they set my rattled nerves at ease. I truly thought having my one and only wisdom tooth pulled would be my worst dental experience but, I am surprised to say that it went much better than I would have hoped for! Thank you Dr. Alvarez and the staff at Dr. Vargas’ office.

I had an abscessed tooth on a Friday night and was so relieved that this office was open and accepting new patients on a Saturday. I was able to get in right away, it’s a huge practice with at least 10 operatories. I was lucky to get Dr. Vargas who was kind, gentle and explained everything in detail. Dr. Vargas is my doctor and I have been seeing her for over 20+ years. I find her very competent and easy to work with when developing plans to keep my teeth for life. At occasions I have seen other doctors in the office and they all are extremely nice to work with. Staff is very friendly and easy to schedule appointments. Dental Hygienist: Rodica and Chau have kept my teeth clean over the years. Both of them are extremely professional and very competent. In addition they are very personable. Office staff: At the end of all the good medical/Dental services comes the paperwork. The office staff makes it easy to deal with this aspect of the visit. I will be remiss, If I did not mentioned Ms Andrea. More often than not there can be issues with insurance etc, and during such times Ms Andrea takes care of it and assures the patient that don’t worry about it. Over the last 20+ years, doctors, dental hygienist and front office staff working in harmony has made my experience of taking care of my teeth a delightful one.
