Recently, I visited Fox Family Dentistry for the first time since I was overdue for a cleaning. My previous dentist is no longer an in-network provider with my insurance company. We are a military family, so it is always a challenge to find trusted dentists and doctors. A friend recommended Fox Family since I was searching for a new dentist. At first, I called and left a message. When I did not hear back, I called a week later. I am so thankful that I called again! I have never had a dentist personally call me before my initial appointment. However, Dr. Fox (Sr.) called me the day before to introduce himself and to discuss any questions or concerns that I might have. That in itself demonstrates that Fox Family Dentistry values their patients. The staff is warm, friendly, and patient-oriented. The office was clean and comfortable. I was taken to the back on time and my appointment ran smoothly. I had an exceptionally pleasant experience, and I am thankful to have found new dentists. I highly recommend Fox Family Dentistry to anyone, for this business is a gem in this hectic Northern Virginia area.

I’ve been going to Dr. Fox now for (15?) years and can’t say enough good things about him and his staff. When my first dentist in this area retired I had some terrible experiences with dentists and developed a terrible fear of having dental work done. So I went to a “sedation” dentist who charged me like $300 to take two little pills in his office to calm my nerves. This guy also found all kinds of things wrong with my teeth, requiring thousands of $$ to fix. After I figured out what was going on I went to Dr. Fox upon the recommendation of a friend. He prescribed two little pills before my procedure. That I took 30 minutes before my appointment (no driving). The pills cost me like 75 cents!! Since then, however, I no longer need any kind of tranquilizer because I am no longer afraid. Dr. Fox is so gentle and so conscientious of ensuring I’m comfortable I have no need to worry. He’s conservative in his treatment and will not recommend dental work that isn’t necessary. He is honest and compassionate and I trust his professional opinion completely. His staff is equally kind and gentle.

Today I saw Dr Lawrence Fox, as always he, Stephanie, Candy were so helpful. I have a problem holding my mouth open. They couldn’t have been nicer, or more accommodating. I want them to know that I appreciate everything they did for me today. I couldn’t ask for a better professional, friendly atmosphere. I should mention that Dr Fox’s injections don’t hurt. Stephanie takes the best impressions. The entire office has always gone above and beyond for me. I used to be a little afraid of the dentist however with the care and attention I’ve received. I am more than happy. After 50 years of dentists I’ve found my forever Dentist.

Dr. Fox came highly recommended to me as an excellent dentist for “anxious people who get stressed about the dentist” — and he (and his office) have absolutely earned that reputation. Over my adult life I’ve probably seen a least a dozen dentists, and Dr. Fox was the first to have ever personally called the day before my appointment to check in, introduce himself, and find out if I had any questions prior to the appointment. It made me feel so much better to have that contact prior to coming in. My hygienist answered all of my questions, and was extra careful during my cleaning around the sensitive areas on my teeth. The staff was all super pleasant and courteous – it was easy to book an appointment and do my new patient paperwork. Covid protocols in place included having me wait in the car until the last minute, chairs blocked off in waiting room to enforce distancing, extra plexiglass, a temp screening and screening paperwork, and what looked like an air filtration machine in the appointment area — all of which made me feel very safe. Would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a new dentist.

Fox Family Dentistry is 100% the best dentist I have ever visited. Their non-judgmental and friendly bedside manner actually make me look forward to going to the dentist. I was referred to Drs. Lawrence and Erik Fox by a friend, since desiring to find a new dental practice. For my first visit, I had my teeth cleaned, x-rayed, and examined. Erin, the hygienist, was so friendly, kind, gentle, and informative about everything she was doing. I am TERRIFIED of the dentist. After reading reviews of different ones in the area, I decided to be brave and make an appointment. I received a call from Dr. Lawrence Fox the day before my appointment. He asked if I had any questions or concerns before coming in. He let me explain how I’ve had bad experiences with the dentist and made me feel relaxed even before coming in. Everyone in the office is amazing. His hygienist Stephanie was comforting and knowledgeable. I am not able to hold my mouth open that long, and she suggested something to help with that, and it worked! Dr. Fox explained everything that would happen and let me ask any questions. I am afraid of the needle for novocaine, and Dr. Fox used a vibration when inserting the needle and I FELT NOTHING! They are very reassuring and take wonderful care of their patients, even the new ones. I have never had such a great experience at the dentist. I would highly recommend to everyone. Dr. Fox is simply AMAZING! I experienced a painless cavity fill for the first time in my life! His cutting edge, laser technology was pain free and took less than 20 minutes! He also corrected a chipped tooth in minutes and you cannot tell the tooth was ever chipped! His front desk staff are so pleasant and professional and the Dental Assistants are fabulous! They are so skilled, courteous and extremely professional. The entire team is top notch and the facility is so nice, clean and efficient. They use the latest technology and make going to the dentist a wonderful experience! They were phenomenal with my 6 year old who raved about enjoying the dentist! You may have a good dentist, but if you don’t have Dr. Fox and his team, you don’t have an exceptional dentist! Call and make an appointment with them today!

In my experience, Dr. Lawrence Fox is absolutely the best dentist, ever! When I lived in Maryland in the late 1970s, I had an emergency and was seen quickly; problem resolved with a minimum of discomfort and great kindness. I changed dentists and started driving to Virginia for all my dental needs and I have stuck with Dr. Fox’s practice ever since. With access to all the latest equipment, Dr. Fox is quick and efficient, but also gentle and caring. I’ve referred several patients over the years and they have all been pleased and have continued seeing Dr. Fox. I get cleanings three times a year, and the hygienists are excellent, providing the comfort and care I’ve come to expect from Fox Family Dentistry.

Yesterday I informed Dr. Fox that my teeth are now trouble-free for the first time in about 30 years. Of course he already knew that. I came to his offices three years ago with serious dental problems that had been building my whole adult life. He set out a plan of action for me that led to the removal of a bad bridge, a couple of necessary extractions, two implants (he gave me the choice of bridge or implant in one spot, I chose the implant), and assorted crowns. If your problems are like mine were, you may be casting about looking for someone you can trust to get you back to good health. I’m happy to share my experience to save you a lot of pain, trouble, and unnecessary expense of time and resources. I am the most anxious patient on the planet, but calmed down in 5 minutes because everyone was so nice. My dental hygienist was amazing. Dentist was really honest. After reading so many great reviews on Yelp and Facebook, I chose to make an appointment with Dr. Fox. At first, I was alarmed because I submitted an appointment request through their website but never heard from them (Staff, that system should be reviewed to make sure it s working!). After 4 days, I decided to call the office to make an appointment and I am really glad that I did! I was so impressed by the fact that Dr. Fox called me personally the day before I was to be seen to review the details of my appointment and to ask me ahead of time if I had any concerns that he should know about prior to my appointment. During the office visit, the team was courteous and patient. I was very impressed by my treatment as both a patient and a client and I would highly recommend this office to anyone!

Dr. Lawrence Fox took all that was right with military dentistry with him when he transitioned, along with what could be improved and built that into the best experience I have ever had with a dentist. I cannot recommend this practice strongly enough! Their genuine care for the services they provide and personal touch in treating patients as family is second to none. I would recommend my hygienist by name except for two reasons: (1) She is awesome and I don’t want to compete for time slots, and (2) ALL the hygienist are equally outstanding in their own right.

Need a new dentist – do not hesitate to visit Fox Family Dentistry; as a matter of fact I highly recommend their practice. Myself, my wife and daughter are new patients and all of us had great experiences. So my take today on my first visit to Fox Family Dentistry. As a new patient Dr. Fox called me the night before and asked if I had any questions or concerns and said he looked forward to meeting me. I had an early appointment and was greeted kindly and professionally by the receptionist. Promptly at the appointment time, Stephanie, the hygienist, greeted me and explained (where I can understand) what she was going to do and what she saw. Another true professional. As soon as my xrays and cleaning was completed Dr. Fox came in for the examination. He made me feel comfortable and explained what he saw. Bottom line where I can relate is he said, “if it were my teeth, what would I do, and for now I would not do anything further until we see you in six months we’ll make another assessment.” That made my day, an honest Doctor. They also take many insurance providers, thats a plus for me. I will be back in six months! PS: everything was clean!!!!

I just purchased new dental insurance as military retiree dental care is no longer funded. This forced a change in providers. I am very fortunate that Fox Family Dentistry is in the new insurance network. First impression was that the office was too busy for new patients – I then found out the receptionist was out sick. Dr. Fox called me personally to day before my scheduled appointment to see if I had any questions or issues before seeing me. This has never happened to me before! On arrival, I met a very professional and cheerful office staff and Stephanie, the dental hygiene tech, talked me through what was going to happen. She also has a gentle hand when it comes to cleaning, which in the past has been reason enough to avoid dentists. Cleaning invariably hurt my gums and pain lasted for days. Guess what? My teeth are just as clean as ever before and I had no issues after my cleaning. I’m going back in six months. The entire team is great.

AMAZING, ANXIETY GONE! I had severe anxiety and Dr Fox has restored my faith in dentists! They are more than willing to use gas/Valium/or both. I don’t respond well to those so I was on nothing and nervous. He is so calm, gentle, and works smoothly. I literally felt ZERO pain or discomfort while getting my root canal. Even the nerve block at the beginning was absolutely painless. He has this great contraption that causes vibrations on the gums so the nerve is unable to respond to the needle injection! There’s usually some pain with the first poke of the needle, not this time! I’m actually pulling my children from their dentist to take them to Dr. Fox! I cannot recommend him enough!

As an AD Mil Fam we are shuffled through Dentist frequently. Our last office dropped our insurance so once again I was on the search. This practice came highly recommended and I can see why. Dr. Fox is just the most outstanding dentist I have ever been to. I was a new patient having only been to the office once before. My first visit was great, with Dr. Fox spending a lot of time with me, as well as getting a thorough cleaning. So I left the office a happy camper and did not expect to see them again for six months. Then diaster struck! I chipped my front tooth, oh no what could I do? I was a new patient, would Dr. Fox help me? I called the office and my fears were put to rest as the receptionist arranged for me to be seen that very day. What joy! So kind Dr. Fox took care of my problem with no fuss and my tooth was as good as new. Even though he was squeezing me in to his busy day, he spent lots of time reassuring me that all would be well, and it was. The end, oh but not really. The real end of the story is that he didn’t even charge me. This is a story with two happy endings, my teeth were smooth and delightful and my purse was still full. This is a doctor who is not only professional and acomplished, but he has a heart and really cares about his patients. If you need a dentist go to this office you will not be disapointed. And that’s the truth.

I have had many dentists work on my mouth over the years. I have always been apprehensive and very uncomfortable during these visits. Some have made mistakes while others showed no real concern over my comfort. Dr. Fox and his staff were amazing. Painless and very comfortable. How comfortable? I had a root canal done and there was literally no pain at any point during the process; not even the numbing part! I was so comfortable that I even started to fall asleep while they were drilling. I would bet that it would be very difficult to find a better dentist anywhere. A small practice with short wait times. Appointments are almost always right on time. This is truly the best dentist I have ever been too.
