My wife recently had an accident, leaving her with a chipped tooth and stitches on her lip. Having recently moved from abroad to NYC, we did not know which dentist to contact to get a reliable and fast repair of the tooth. Some friends referred Central Park West Dentistry to us. I called them from the emergency room on a Tuesday evening, and they managed to set an appointment for the following morning, although we were not yet clients. The person on the phone was very friendly and helpful. She also sent a follow up email, giving me all the details and confirming the appointment, which is definitely helpful, especially in our situation (being in the hospital, in a particular emotional state). On the day of the appointment, we were warmly welcome by the assistant. Communication was very thorough and friendly. Dr Lhota took care of my wife’s tooth with great care. He took the time to discuss with us, explaining the options and the consequences. He was also very delicate and considerate of my wife’s pain. He arranged to have all the documents (X-rays, photographs of the injury) sent swiftly by e-mail so our dentist back home would be able to deal with future care with a perfect understanding of the situation. I can not comment on the cost, as universal coverage applies in our country, meaning that this would have cost us between 10 and 20 dollars back home. However, I understand that the fees charged were totally reasonable when compared to US standards. To finish with, Dr Lhota called us on the next day to have a follow up discussion. This is definitely something that was appreciated. You really feel like you are taken care of, very professionally. He also gave us the advice to have a second opinion on the lip injury, and suggested a certain medical center which was indeed very efficient and helpful. I would not hesitate one second to return to this dentistry in the future.

In the current COVID-19 emergency, dentists are heroes too! Last week, my sheltering -in-place experience in NYC suddenly became sheer hell. I didn’t test positive for the coronavirus. But I had the mother and father of all tooth infections that I feared I would go into shock from the pain. The blighted molar was throbbing with fury, lashing and gashing my nerves and was impervious to every potential remedy within my reach – salty warm gargles, orajel, anbesol, dentek. All to no avail. Reluctant to come out of lockdown, I endured the unbearable pain for three days, unable to eat, sleep, or talk properly. I was in stressful solitude, and in tears. I wasn’t sure if my trusted dentist in Central Park West Dentistry, Dr. Devin Kuller, was working that day. In fact, I wasn’t sure if the office was even open. But, confident that I would get help if I managed to track down any member of the practice, I texted and emailed and waited by my phone. I wasn’t disappointed. I got two prompt responses from a wonderful and compassionate administrative staff (I don’t even know her name) and my Doctor Kuller, both of whom held my hand virtually (yes, that’s a thing). My doctor was not at work and the practice was operating a pared down schedule. However, and fortunately, Dr. Kuller bumped my sorry story up to ‘numero uno’ in the practice – Doctor Lhota. With my medical records in view, Dr. Lhota called me, listened to my tale of woe, asked the questions that helped him better ‘feel’ my pain on the phone and called a prescription to my local pharmacy for a course of antibiotics and a few pills of Tylenol-codeine. He also put me on notice I might still likely need a root canal, which was ok to contemplate. My immediate need was to get out of pain. It took a couple of hours for Dr. Lhota to set up this telemedicine life-line and to get me feeling better. Two days ago, I called him to confirm that the infection was gone, tooth is feeling good and I am sheltering in a better state of mind. I thanked him, hung up and told my phone he was a hero. I am exceedingly grateful for the seamless operation of Dr. Lhota’s team, and for their compassion and high definition medical craft. You couldn’t ask for more.

I cracked a tooth on Friday, the day before I was to leave for a two week meditation retreat. I was worried that the tooth would cause a big problem. How can one meditate while worrying about a tooth? Given that it was Friday night, I didn’t know how I could get it seen on a Saturday morning. Thankfully when I googled emergency dentist, Central Park West Dentistry came up. I scheduled an appointment Saturday morning and was seen right away. The office was conveniently located in a beautiful building, the waiting room was immaculate and the receptionist friendly and efficient. Dr. Lhota examined the tooth, took x-rays and explained the situation clearly. He also had the x-rays and clinical notes emailed to me so I could give them to my regular dentist. I cannot say how impressed and appreciative I am of the care he provided. Finding dental services on such short notice on a weekend is tricky at best and Central Park West Dentistry really served me well. In fact, if I didn’t have a long-standing and excellent dentist, I would switch to Dr. Lhota in a minute. He knew his stuff and was very user-friendly. I recommend this dental practice heartily.

If you are seeking a virtually pain free dental experience, Central Park West Dentistry is the place to go! I always dreaded going to the dentist because I have particularly sensitive gums and a very low pain threshold. Dr. Lhota and his team were understanding and accommodating of my fears. They spared no effort to ensure I was always comfortable and pain free. As a result, I have since overcome my phobia of going to the dentist! During the initial consultation, Dr. Lhota spent a considerable amount of time discussing the health of my teeth and gums as well as my dental goals. He designed a personalized treatment plan that would restore my teeth and gums to health and give me a natural looking “Hollywood Smile”. The final results are stunningly fantastic and have exceeded my expectations. Friends and family say I look younger and even strangers have complimented my smile. I can’t say enough about how wonderful Central Park West Dentistry is. After years of neglecting my teeth, I was very nervous about going back to the dentist– I knew I was going to have a lot of issues, and was worried about being judged or feeling overwhelmed by the course of treatment ahead of me. Much to my surprise, the dentists and technicians at CPW were kind, understanding, and even funny throughout the process. I’ve never waited to be seen for more than a few minutes, and appreciate the efforts they take to explain procedures and costs at every stage. Wow! I want to thank Helene and the staff for a wonderful visit. I have not been to my dental visit for quite some time and I was not used to the routine. IT WAS A GREAT experience. Everyone was kind and gentle. They kept me updated through the routine and always made sure I was comfortable. I also received a little care package which I remember from when I was younger. It was a great for home or, for me, I kept it my office. My teeth look and feel amazing! Ironically it was relaxing – like a spa treatment. Let’s say that, hypothetically, you haven’t been to the dentist in almost two years because, well, quite frankly, you hate going, and you especially hate going because you know you have an issue that needs addressing and you’re afraid that your dentist and hygienist and quite possibly the receptionist and the bookkeeper and all of their moms are going to crowd around you as you lie in the reclining chair, your face pried open by all sort of contraptions, the suction thing in your mouth making embarrassing noises, and they’re all going to look at all that and say, “Uh, what the @#$% is going on in there?” And say that you get to the place, and from the minute you step foot inside, everyone is so super-duper nice and friendly and welcoming and even — dare I say — fun (!!?), and you see individually wrapped Kind bars neatly displayed on a nice little table alongside coffee service, and someone comes over and gives you a cute zippered canvas bag, like a makeup bag, and inside are goodies, like party gifts, and you are thinking, “Wow! They care!” and “Gosh, they really are just as nice as they seemed from the email exchanges we’ve had since I first chose this place as my new dentist!” And that’s all very fine and well, but you’re still thinking, “Yeah, but this is a dentist’s office. It’s gonna suck anyway. Even though they’re super nice ‘n’ all and I kinda want to hang out with them just eating Kind bars and drinking coffee.” Well, then you would need to know that the actual experience, the hands-on stuff with these guys is right in line with the everything else leading up to it. They explain everything to you. They tell you step by step what’s happening. They ask you, often, “Am I hurting you?” or “Is this okay?” When you apologize for perhaps offending them with your mouth because you have not been to a dentist in almost two years, they tell you it’s quite all right, it’s nothing to worry about, it’ll all be fine, and that they’re there to help … and you kind of want to cry a little and hug them. So, yeah, I dig this place and its people. Even after I had a deep cleaning, headed by the adorable and funny Diane (and was given a Sonic toothbrush as a parting gift!) (more presents!) that I was dreading with every fiber of my being, I still dig everyone there. I felt so safe with Jung, Diane, Arnel, Tameka (I think?), and the very, very lovely, patient, and kind Dr. Lhota. I wish every service, office, restaurant — everything — in NYC was this wonderful!

I have to be honest. I’m fearful of dentists, and needles and also I’m Canadian. I hadn’t been to a dentist in about three years. So I might have over flossed before hand out of performance anxiety. Not only was this place amazing from beginning to end, Cailinn (the gracious and badass woman in charge of my treatment) held my hand people! While I was trepidatious, I honest to goodness feel as though I made friends and LOOK FORWARD to returning. Which if you knew the level of my panic prior to my visit, you’d understand how big of a leap that is. Not only are my teeth in workable condition, and frankly gleaming – I called my mom in Canada to explain to her just how high-tech the experience was in addition to the friendly service. Can’t say enough good things, if you got an ache or need a scrub – just go.

I typically hate dentist visits, but my visit here was all around pleasant. The staff here was extremely friendly and accommodating. They were also very thorough and walked me through each step of my visit with detailed explanations. I had to get a deep cleaning done and it was pretty painless. They really do try to make the experience as comfortable as possible. They gave me lots of samples and a brand new electric toothbrush to take home with me. I feel confident that I’m in good hands while in this office! As long as I live near the area I’ll be keeping this office as my permanent dentists. I’ve referred some of my friends there as well!

I had not been satisfied with my previous dentist and was looking for someone new in my neighborhood. I contacted Central Park West Dentistry and was able to schedule a same week appointment. Angel picked up the phone immediately (no long call prompts or hold time!) and was very helpful in answering my questions and scheduling my appointment. She was also proactive in contacting my insurance company to make sure my visit would be covered and calling me back to let me know. When I arrived I was greeted warmly at the front desk and they were very organized in getting me set up for my first visit. Diane and Luis were both great – I had probably the most comprehensive dental exam ever and they were professional and explained each step along the way. Dr. Lohta took time to review everything with me and answer my questions. Taking time out to go to the dentist isn’t high on my list of fun things to do, but I must say that CPW Dentistry made my visit as pleasant as possible. I’ll be very happy to return for my next 6 month checkup.

What a great experience!! I was back in New York for two days recently and had a tooth break on my way there from DC. I had never been to Dr. Lhota but in trying to contact my former dentist Dr. Lewenson, I discovered he had retired and Dr. Lhota was one of several dentists now seeing Dr. Lewenson’s former patients. Eric told me I could see Dr. Lhota the following day, a Friday. Actually, Eric gave me a choice of two different dentists at two different locations, which I found very generous. I chose Dr. Lhota and when I arrived, I was treated so warmly by Jess and later Jung that I felt like I had been going there for years. Jung took x-rays and a picture of the damaged tooth and chatted with me easily and on a number of interesting topics. When Dr. Lhota arrived to assess the damage, he was kind, efficient, friendly and his expertise was impressive. He put in a temporary filling charging me less than normal and advised me to have the repair done permanently when I returned home. To aid me in that process, he asked Jess to email me the x-rays and picture so I could give that to my dentist at home, which she did immediately and with a warm note. Since my tongue had been torn up by scraping on the razor-sharp exposed filling, Dr. Lhota and Jung provided me with a “kit” to use so I could numb my tongue if the pain was too great until it healed. He spent a great deal of time with me after completing the repair making sure I had everything I needed to enjoy my time in New York and sent me on my way a much happier person than the one that arrived at his door. I told him, he was a reason to move back to New York, which is true. He literally saved my life as the pain and damage to my tongue was excruciating and he made the rest of my visit and the performance of “The Curious Incident…” that night a pleasure. Best dental experience of my life! I think Dr. Lhota is an artist and a dentist who was born to do this intricate and amazing art. Having not been to the dentist in too long, he has gotten me back in the fold with mastery and kindness, both is equal amounts. It is a painless experience and feels rather miraculous. His assistant Jung is equally as soothing and gentle and wise, and they work,as a team, seamlessly. I think they are happy with what they do and it shows. I have had some intense dentistry done and remain totally painfree and totally impressed with their level of workmanship. This is a glowing review because it is well- earned and honest. This place is a find on the Upper Westside of Manhattan and open on the week-ends – it is the best!

Today I went for my 3 month gum check up/cleaning at my favorite and number one Dentist office. As always it’s such a great pleasure when you arrive and they treat you with outstanding customer service from the moment you walk in the door. With the great conversation with Sabrina at the front desk. Then to have my amazing Hygienist Diane, who treats you like family each time. She and I have a great relationship, her concern once you get into her chair until you finish your treatment keeps you so calm and happy to visit the dental office. Also having Tori who assisted with Diane keeps you relaxed and comfortable. Also a big shout out to staff member Luis who sent a special message to say hello before my appointment. He and I always have great conversations about Broadway plays and great restaurants in the city. Then to have your follow up with Dr Oh who is so detailed with you and allows you to ask as many questions about your treatment and follow up care before your next visit. I recently got my porcelain veneers placed by Dr. Lhota, and I cannot thank him enough for the AMAZING work he did. The entire process was extremely efficient, smooth and accommodating, and the outcome is above and beyond my expectations. In my childhood, I had one of my upper left front teeth extracted, which created gaps between the teeth. I had never been so conscious of those gaps or uneven lengths and irregular shapes of my teeth, but I am extremely happy with the transformation, which turned my front teeth into aesthetic perfection. I absolutely love the new shapes and shades of my teeth, which were all custom-designed by Dr. Lhota. They look fresh, clean, natural, and beautiful, and I cannot help but show off my teeth with a much bigger smile than before. Dr. Lhota is an amazing dentist, who is friendly, caring, and extremely knowledgeable. I met him for the first time at the veneer counseling session, and immediately felt very comfortable trusting him and doing what he suggests was right for my teeth. Everyone at the office is also extremely warm, kind and efficient, and every visit there is such a pleasant experience. One month prior to the veneers, I also had ZOOM teeth whitening done by Lana, who is also amazing. Both Dr. Lhota and Lana called me on the next day, and made sure that I was okay. Overall, I feel very happy and fortunate that I have met such a great dentist in New York City. Whether it is for cleaning, whitening, tooth extraction or porcelain veneers, I would definitely recommend anyone to choose Central Park West Dentistry.

My cousin was my dentist since I had teeth; he had a huge clientele due to his wonderful bedside manner and precision. After being under his care for 35 years, I was forced (due to his retirement) to look for another dentist. I never had major problems with my teeth but, as luck would have it, they totally fell apart after he retired. My search for a new dentist was a disaster. After one dentist screwed up my teeth and another only had “doctor’s hours,” meaning in the office three hours, twice a week (no evenings or weekends), I swore off dentists until my tooth cracked in half. Now I looked like an urban hillbilly. After hours of online research, I decided to try Central Park West Dentistry and booked an appointment with Dr. Lhota. His practice’s very generous hours (come on, open seven days a week!) and proximity to my job were the deciding factors. I walked into his office, and it’s Beverly Hills without the snootiness. It sounds unbelievable but I assure you it felt like a spa day. The staff is everything described in the reviews. I mean EVERYONE, from the office assistants to the dental hygienists, delivers exceptional customer service. They confirm appointments with emails and calls, which is great since I seem to forget everything lately. Admittedly, I was nervous about the CPW address as I am just an overworked, underpaid working stiff from Brooklyn, but they actually have a financial advisor who helps you with a payment plan. My insurance has a 2k maximum, so no matter who I went to I would have to pay out of pocket. Okay, décor and a friendly staff are important but is the dentist good? As dumb luck would have it, Dr. Lhota was fantastic! First, he gently broke the bad news that I would need a lot of dental work (which my previous dentist confirmed right down to the two wisdom teeth that need to be pulled). Dr. Lhota sat down next to me in the waiting room and patiently explained everything. He prioritized my issues and told me what could wait a few months. He was very honest and not a money grabber. He drew up a treatment plan for me, and I signed up. I spent a few Saturdays in his office (again, what doctor cares that much about his patients to stay on a Saturday evening!!!) Dr. Lhota is a perfectionist – eliminating a brown spot I had on a tooth forever, trimming my gums, and a few other extras. The drill became a paintbrush. I am not afraid of dentists (hey, if I am going to live there is nothing to fear), but he inquired about this. It is his intention to make everyone feel warm and cozy. He even hung up my coat on one occasion! He has state-of-the-art equipment. My fillings actually stay in now, my caps fit to perfection, and my teeth feel shiny and new at 50. I am even taking better care of my teeth. I lost my grinding brace, and he made a new one that day!! Best of all, I regained my trust in dentists. Another big perk is his practice is one-stop shopping as it has multidisciplinary specialists.

When I recently contacted him with a tooth emergency, he and Jung stayed late on a Saturday to make sure the issue was taken care of. “Where have you been all this time. I’ve found the place I been looking for.” I needed some work done with my tooth and did not want to make an appointment with just anyone. I was desperately searching for a dentist with flexible hours and great staff due to m work schedule. Conducting my research via Google I stumble across Central Park West Dentistry. All I notice was all the great reviews beforehand which is a PLUS. I called to make an appointment the same day and least to know I had an appointment for the next day to be seen. My first dental experience in NYC was just amazing. When I walked in, Leo at the front desk was warm and friendly. The office provided coffee and even almond milk while I waited and filled out forms. Diane came out to greet me and immediately made me feel so welcome. She explained everything that we were going to do in the check up and spent a good amount of time getting to know me. She and Randall took images of my teeth, cleaned them, scanned for cancer, and did fluoride rinse. It was speedy and so nice with Diane’s gentleness and her warmth. She explained things to me as she did them and kept checking on me throughout. Dr. Lhota was friendly and kind during the exam. At the end Diane went even further to make my experience awesome and gave me some extra tooth brushes for the kids I nanny. She is such a sweet woman and you can tell she truly has passion for her job. You guys, cpwd is literally the #1 dentist in the city/potentially the world?? I woke up with hoooorrible tooth pain and went to a different dentist that same day. After a seriously unsuccessful visit with that dentist I looked up other options and cpw, thankfully popped up. I called and asked if there was ANY way they could get me in same day and they said they could see me in an hour. Honestly, a God send. Literally, I WISH I HAD GONE HERE FIRST. Doctor Rabbi is… the greatest. Fixed my infected root canal as soon as he knew what was wrong, and followed up the following 4 days to see how I was recovering. I didn’t wait long at all for my 9:45 checkup. Dr. Lhota didn’t rush through the appt. like some dentists/doctors do. He answered all of my questions and made time for the teeth cleaning I needed. I’d recommend him to people who are nervous about going to the dentist — he’s very calming and considerate. Also, I liked that he didn’t try to push me into services/procedures I don’t really need, like some dentists do.

I have been nothing but impressed with Central Park West Dentistry. I stumbled upon them by accident. I had a partially emerged wisdom tooth that became infected and desperately needed to see a dentist on a Saturday afternoon. They not only made time to see me, but also, after being examined by Dr. Lhota, he and the oral surgeon made time in the schedule for my emergency tooth removal that afternoon. The staff are friendly, the offices are comfortable, and you feel well cared for when you visit. I never thought going to the dentist could be a nice experience, but this practice has somehow figured out how to make the trip pleasant, comfortable, and positive.

I’ve only had excellent experiences at CPW Dentistry. I just got my wisdom teeth removed yesterday and although I was anxious, the oral surgeon handled me so well. She explained everything clearly and continually reassured me. The best part was that she was so fast and skillful. It was over before I knew it. She even offered me a treatment that helps reduce the swelling so I don’t look like a chipmunk afterwards, and it worked like a charm. The front desk, hygienist and the assistants are all so kind and helpful. It’s good to know that there are caring and service oriented dental offices out there.

Dr.Lhota and his staff are the best in the city. He is a wonderful, kind and very competent dentist. He has compassion and geuine concern for his patients and it shows. His staff at both offices reflect his concern an interest in making all the patients comfotable and informed. He has shown me understanding and consideration for my personal circumstances. I would only travel from the East Side to the West Side for Dr. Lhota and his staff.

Best dentist ANYWHERE. I love that this office doesn’t FEEL like a dentist office. Last time I was in there it just smelled yummy. Comfortable seating area where you wait all of 5 1/2 seconds. They always have the best goodie bags and have plenty of bottled water & coffee for you. Everyone here is over the top nice. Holly, must be the most efficient desk personnel I have ever met. Super sweet, zips ya in and zips ya out. My favorite hygienist is Anneline. Always checking to make sure you’re comfortable. Dr Lhota is amazing! No overselling. Always tells you truthfully whether work is necessary or if it can wait. They have some sort of ninja technique that manages to get the job done completely pain free. If you are afraid of dentists or pain or anything to do with your mouth. You HAVE to go to Dr. Lhota. He will totally change your outlook.

Ever since I visited Central Park West Dentistry two Sundays ago (yes, that is right–they are open on Sundays!), I have been telling all of my friends what a great experience I had. I’d read about the practice on Yelp and other sites, and almost couldn’t believe that they hadn’t hired someone to write such glowing reviews. And then, I decided to go for it and experience it for myself. I think the greatest thing about the practice is that they have thought about every potential anxiety a person could face in going to the dentist, and they have worked hard to address and mitigate those anxieties. How? They are fully transparent about what they are doing. They are as kind and as gentle as possible. They discuss your treatment options, and categorize and prioritize them on a scale of “necessity” to “preventative” to “completely optional.” They are not trying to “up-sell” their patients. They are up front about costs and have payment plans. They are open at convenient times, nights and weekends. And, they have an amazing support staff, who communicate through email and answer every question you might have. On top of all this, they have a Hygiene Membership plan, a low cost, per-month fee that includes a certain number of cleanings and fluoride treatments per year (depending on which package you pick). Not only does this spread the cost over time and save money over the “rack rates,” but it keeps someone like me (a person who doesn’t normally enjoy the dentist) motivated to come in more regularly for routine maintenance. Finally, the staff is super. From the patient coordinators to the hygienist (Diane–you are a rock star!!!) to the doctors and everyone else, patients feel comfortable and in good hands. As a “skeptical New Yorker,” they have won me over. And…..I can’t believe I’m writing this, but I’m looking forward to going back and taking care of getting a new crown. Really!

Fantastic office, Dr. Lhota and his team are amazing. Caring, gentle and understanding are words I would use to describe my experiences at Central Park West Dentistry. With the unfortunate need for some ongoing dentistry, not only do I feel taken care but the office is helpful in offering a payment plan. The office has extended hours including weekends which are extremely helpful for anyone who works a typical day. I highly recommend Dr. Lhota and CPWest Dentistry if you are looking for a new Dentist.
