Dr. Kauftheil is a wonderful, thorough dentist.  I called because a filling had fallen out and he gave me a same-day appointment and spent two painstaking hours working on the tooth, which was a mess.  He checks in constantly to see if you are in pain, or need a break.  His work is impeccable.  I have been going to him for years and cannot recommend him enough!

I have known Dr Kauftheil for many years .Dr Kauftheil has the most amazing dental practice . His front office staff are very friendly and greet all patients with a big smile . The dental Hygienists are awesome, extremely professional and are very sensitive to the patients needs . Love them Dr Kauftheil experience and knowledge is vast . I always trusted his recommendations and his course of action to keep heathy teeth . He always did good by me and I highly recommend him and his many assistants for all the dental needs .

Dr. Kauftheil is far and away the best regular dentist I have ever gone to. My hands no longer get sweaty on my way there! He is gentle, quick, and thorough, and is very kind to you when you are nervous. His office is well run, unusual to have to wait very long for your appointment. His Hygienist is also gentle, quick, and thorough. Both take time to help you understand your home cleaning process and do it better. I can’t say enough good things about my experience in Dr. Kauftheil’s office, except to say I am very grateful to be his patient!

Highly recommended!! I saw Dr. Kauftheil for a post in crown. My experience was a good one and I would definitely recommend Dr. Kauftheil to anyone in need of dental work, cosmetic or otherwise. His demeanor is professional but also friendly and the same is true of his staff. He took the necessary time to complete the procedure and gave thoughtful answers to any questions I had. I never felt rushed and I never felt that I was being pushed into unnecessary “extras”. I’m also very impressed with the quality of artistry, I would be surprised if anyone could tell that the crown was not my own tooth. If you need good work done then this is definitely your guy!

Prior to meeting Dr. Kauftheil I was so fearful of the dentist’s drill that I could not have any work done that required drilling without sedation. Dr. Kauftheil has since changed that. He convinced me that I did not need the sedation and he has done several procedures for me with just local anesthetic which were completely free of pain and discomfort. He is friendly, caring, gentle, and his work is excellent. The office is up to date, immaculate, and the staff could not be more friendly and accommodating. I could not be more pleased.

Dr. Kauftheil is the best dentist I have ever been to. As a recent transplant from the midwest to the city, I was concerned about finding a kind, conscientious, and above all expert professional – especially for my first major dental procedure, a double cavity filling. All of my expectations were met and surpassed by Dr. Kauftheil and his wonderful staff, who both explained every step of the procedure and made delightful conversation during the pauses (waiting for the numbing agent to take effect, etc.). During the cavity filling itself, Dr. Kauftheil demonstrated his highest quality: dextrous, efficient dental skill while causing no pain whatsoever. This was my first visit to Dr. Kauftheil’s practice, but it most certainly won’t be the last!

I’ve been going to this dentist for about a year and I’m incredibly happy with the service. It’s a small office on the 18th floor of a building in Rockefeller Plaza. A small waiting room where the receptionist sits and then two small rooms off it are where the patients go. You can pretty much see everything from the waiting room. When I call for an appointment I can usually get into the schedule within a day or two. They are accommodating and very helpful. The wait time is short (10-15 minutes max) and they are very apologetic if they keep you waiting. There are endless magazines for you to peruse if you want (and they are up to date!). Every time someone works on my teeth it’s quick and (relatively) painless. They are great with showing you your xrays and explaining anything that’s going on with your mouth. Incredibly communicative and helpful, it’s really nice to understand what’s going on. They provide you with a small package of floss, toothpaste, and a toothbrush when you leave. Seriously, if they take your insurance, absolutely come to this great office. Everyone here is friendly and professional. Could not recommend more.

Had an appointment today at Tooth Docs, Manhattan. Had a great hygienist who gave an excellent cleaning without hurting me. Dr. Kaufheil treated a cavity & I will return for a crown next week. He is a terrific dentist & I feel lucky to know him. I highly recommend this dental office at Rockefeller Center.

I have been seeing Dr. Kaufteil at TOOTHDOCS for MANY YEARS! I could not recommend him and his practice enough. His team makes you feel at home, are easy to schedule (and reschedule) appointments, and you leave knowing you were in good hands. Some people dread the dentist but I never have with Dr. Kaufteil!

I generally get very anxious at the dentist, but Dr. Kauftheil & staff made me feel so comfortable and calm during my last two visits at Toothdocs. Dr. Kauftheil was thorough and took the time to make sure I understood what was going on in my mouth and what the best practices would be going forward. He and the other staff members were so kind. I feel really grateful to have found them here in NYC! Will be back for my 6 month cleanings for sure. Thanks, toothdocs!

I have pretty bad teeth (though excellent dental hygiene) so dentists have had to do a lot of work ever since I was a kid. The hygienists and dentists here are extremely kind and remarkably gentle. I don’t have problems with needles or drills, but even still these are the fastest, most painless, least invasive procedures I’ve ever had. I know dentistry is getting to be fairly commoditized, but I highly recomend these people for their efficiency and bedside manner.

Amazing dentist. Extremely thorough, and very gentle with his examinations. He saved my tooth! I am a health care provider too (surgeon), and I went to him based on referrals from a lot of his colleagues. He trained at THE best location in Beverly Hills for cosmetic dentistry, and is a recognized leader in his field in NYC. I highly recommend Dr. Kauftheil and his office for your dental care.

There is no place better for kids than this office. Convenient location with valet parking. Then the office is kid friendly and very clean. Dr. Diba is so sweet and patient and really takes the time to explain everything. The hygienists and the entire staff are all helpful and nice. Grateful I can take my child to the same place I get my dental work done. Dr. Kauftheil has been my dentist for over 15 years and is the most kind, professional and hardest working dentist I know. Highly recommend this office to all!

Best dental office I’ve ever been to. The level of care is above expectations, the doctor is very knowledgeable and never does more work than what’s necessary. He listens to my needs, explains any procedure I need done, answers all my questions, and is very gentle working. I am currently doing invisalign and I can already tell the result is going to look great, I am very pleased with the improvements in my smile. The staff is also extremely friendly and they go out of their way to find an appointment that fits my very limited work schedule. I absolutely Iove this dental office. I Highly recommend it.

I’m in an image-based career and my teeth were not blemish free, to say the least. I explored a lot of options that didn’t work out and finally I went to see Dr. Kauftheil. He recommended veneers. I was terrified of how evasive that sounded. “What if…” scenarios were firing on all cylinders and I waited a year before going back to him and taking his advice. A year later–my only regret is that I didn’t do it as soon as he recommended it to me. He’s an expert at his craft–both in knowledge and performance. And that expertise put my mind at rest during the process and a huge smile on my face ever since. My career has taken off in the past year and what use to be my biggest weakness is now my most frequent compliment.

Both doctors are wonderful. My whole family comes to this office. Dr. Diba completely calmed my son’s fears- he now gets checkups without issue. Dr. Kauftheil takes his time and explains everything. Dee at the front desk is always friendly and patiently works through billing and schedules. Great practice.

My whole family has been coming to Toothdocs in Roslyn for quite some time. Dr. Diba is fantastic with the kids! She puts them at ease and they actually enjoy going to the dentist. Dr. Kauftheil is extremely knowledgeable and takes his time explaining and answering questions. Negmie and D’vora, the hygienists, are extremely thorough yet gentle. Dee, Dalou and Katherine, who work at the front desk, are a pleasure to deal with; helpful and friendly. I highly recommend ToothDocs for the whole family!

Before finding Dr. Steven Kauftheil, I went to a regular dentist. I had been suffering from tooth and jaw pain only to learn had I grid and clench my teeth in my sleep. Thank goodness I found Dr. Kauftheil, who has repaired the damage to my teeth and helped me get my life back. I highly recommend Dr. Kauftheil for both regular dental work and extreme situations like mine.

This is how smooth and pain free he operates! Dr. Kauftheil is by far the best dentist I have ever had. I like how he talks me through the different procedures. His wonderful staff is also an important part of his practice. I always know ahead of time what to expect vis à vis insurance and payment matters, and they make it easy for me. Simply the best!

I’ve been going to Dr. Kauftheil is amazing. My son (who is 12) and I have been going there for about 2 years, and we could not be happier. The waiting area is small but the staff is very nice and attentive, i’ve never waited for more than 5 mins. The hours are great and its easily accessible and if you ever want to take a drive i believe he has another location in Long Island.

Today I called him because I popped a filling out: he gave me an appointment this afternoon and spent two hours working on the mess that was my tooth. He is gentle, painstaking, and constantly checks in while he is working to see if one is uncomfortable or needs a break. And it doesn’t hurt that he loves fantasy-sci fi books and so do I!

His dental care is the best I’ve received. My teeth are in excellent condition because of his care. He’s fixed issues with my teeth from past poor dentist work and his staff is very helpful and friendly. Very relaxing and he knows the shots from the numbing agent hurts me more than if he only gives my one local to work on a crown. He remembers what the patient needs and doesn’t just default to a process that just works for him. I wish he could train other healthcare professionals how to treat patients with compassion, empathy and professionalism. The office is not large (two dental suites) but they keep it clean and efficient.

Dr. Steven Kauftheil has been my dentist since 2010 and has provided me with excellent and very personable care. Dr. Kauftheil is very honest and doesn’t try to “sell” services, he is in the business of helping people. In my experience he is a great specialist, he is very skilled and has a great hand.
