With a week remaining before heading out on a road trip, I found myself with a tooth that needed immediate attention.  Dr. Dukes’ office miraculously found a spot for me, diagnosed my problem and immediately worked some magic to have a root canal done locally the same day.  That’s better than first class service.  I have been going to Mesa Dental for many years.  I now live in Newport Beach but drive up to Santa Barbara for my all dental work…well worth the drive.  The staff at Mesa Dental is knowledgeable, friendly and attentive.  I highly recommend Dr. Dukes and Mesa Dental.

I had a crown come off while in between travels! I was a first-time patient, but the friendly staff treated me as though I was a regular, long time client! The office is attractively furnished, and welcoming! My issues were quickly and efficiently assessed and I was able to get and appointment for a regular exam and a teeth cleaning the next day due to a cancellation. I was also referred out to an Oral Surgeon for further care. Thanks Dr.Dukes, and Staff! I will definitely become a regular patient for an every 6 month check-up!!

My dental hygienist, Secilia, is superb. She is not only very professional and extremely efficient, but she also ensures that I am comfortable and at ease during my procedure. We often engage in conversation, which serves as a big distraction from the discomfort of the treatment. I strongly recommend Mesa Dental.

Overall a very pleasant experience. However, I was not greeted in a very friendly manner by one of the ladies in reception. I would have let this pass except the person after me was greeted warmly. It was early morning so perhaps the lady had already had a difficult start to her day. I have been a patient with Dr. Dukes for about five years and if asked, I would highly recommend him.

Dr Dukes has been my dentist for many years. I can’t imagine going to any other dentist. Over the years his staff and he has been wonderful, gracious, professional and they do great work. Two crowns, a cap, invisalign, and an entire family have been well looked after by Dr. Dukes and his staff. Great Office atmosphere, very modern equipment and they are very progressive.

Dr. Dukes is in a convenient and accessible location, has super friendly office staff, and a quality team of hygienists. The medical tools and equipment are all state-of-the art, and the environment is clean and comfortable as well. The staff does a great job explaining various problems along with best practices so you can feel confident incorporating good habits into your routine.

Dr. Dukes performed live changing sleep dentistry on me! My wife is most happy about the changes in my sleep habits an we are both truly grateful for the work Dr. Dukes performed on me. I highly recommend him for his expertise in sleep medicine as well as all aspects of general dentistry. He’s definitely one of the best dentists out there!

I found this office after searching for a dentist on the mesa and after reading their hilarious website about the dentist that hated the dentist I knew I had to check it out.  Throughout my first everyone was very kind and explained all of my treatment and insurance to me so I understood everything and didn’t pressure me at all.  I had a pretty bad experience in town so even after this great first visit I was really dreading coming back for my next appointment to get a crown.  Everything went so well and I was so comfortable (massage chairs and ocean view– what’s not to love?!) and they even made my crown in the office so I wouldn’t need to come back for a second trip.  The whole appointment only took me an hour and a half!  I’m so glad I found this place and I’ll definitely be referring everyone!

The company I work for offers, in my opinion, substandard dental care. After using several of their allowed dentists, I had a bad taste in my mouth, so to speak. My wife recommended her dentist, Dr. Dukes, who is not on the list for my company insurance. After visiting Dr. Dukes for an assessment, I was impressed, and I have since actually paid out of pocket for a string of procedures, with no regrets. I would rather have a good set of teeth than collect on so-called insurance “benefits”.  Dr. Dukes is skillful and fastidious about his work, and it is nearly pain-free; he wants everything to be the way it *should* be. He has corrected several problems resulting from my visits to substandard dentists linked to my company insurance. He is personable and interested in his patients, and his staff are always friendly and helpful. His office is clean and comfortable, with amenities such as personal music listening and television on the ceiling. I highly recommend Dr. Dukes!

I have had a couple of extremely bad dental experiences in the past, so I was very anxious when I went into Dr. Dukes’s office to get some ancient fillings replaced, as both he and my previous dentist had recommended.  He and his staff were very patient in calming my fears, and lo and behold, due to their efforts there was exactly NO pain.  Not the most pleasant experience? No, of course, nobody wants a drill in her mouth.  But again, there was absolutely no pain involved .  Both Dr. Dukes and his staff took the time to explain what they were doing, when they were going to do it, and why (after completely physically numbing me to pain) which really took the edge off my anxieties.  I’ll go back for the second round of replacement fillings with equanimity.  Well, almost.  It does take a little while to get over a 30-year phobia.
