Can’t tell you how much I appreciate Dr. Payne and his whole staff. From the start of my Invisalign process it’s been so smooth and walked through step by step. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Giving reminders on appointments via text or call. So easy to work with. Would highly recommend this office for any orthodontist needs. Very satisfied and happy with my new smile. Just a heads up they offer cookies on your way out.

I have been going here since I was little and they have fixed everyone in my family’s teeth. We absolutely love Dr. Payne and the office staff so much! We always leave happily because they are all like family to us. You can definitely tell that they aren’t going after your money but trying to help you out. I totally recommend going here for all of your ortho needs!

Dr Payne and all the staff are friendly, efficient, and accommodating—not to minimize the excellent work that they do! My daughter’s treatment lasted longer than originally planned and they held true to the original quote for services. I messed up on the scheduling of one of her appointments but they were understanding and simply made a new one for her. You are all awesome!

I went to Dr. Payne after my daughter’s dentist made me feel terrible for not starting my daughters braces. She refereded me to 2 orthos, one was her husband in El Dorado Hills. I was told she needed all kinds of work. While getting my teeth cleaned, I asked my dentist who her kids go to. She told me Dr Payne. She told me you should always go to more then one orthodontist. Dr Payne was my second. He told me the complete opposite of what I had been told and pointed out different things. He also told me she wouldn’t be ready for a year. Dr Payne didn’t want to just take my money or put my daughter through unnecessary treatment. I really like Dr. Payne and the staff are all nice. I’ve seen his work, and his honesty.

Absolutely love love LOVE this place! I have been a patient at Dr.Payne’s office for a little over 3 years and I am so happy he’s the one that fixed my smile. Him and his team are beyond amazing and welcoming! I am terrified of the dentist and anything dental, but they really helped me with my fears and I am officially two weeks now from getting my braces off! The process was long but it was the right one for me.. Dr.Payne is a perfectionist so be prepared for the rubber bands and wires 😉 totally worth it tho!!!! my smile now even without my restorative treatment looks PERFECT! But I promise when I have my kids and they need braces I know exactly where I am taking them!!!

I was referred to Dr. Payne by my Dentist when my daughter needed braces over three years ago. The moment I walked into his state of the art office, I knew I had found the right Orthodontist that would meet the expectations that we had for my daughter’s Ortho care. The staff were warm, welcoming, quick, and very efficient at their work. We totally loved them! When we met Dr. Payne, he greeted us with the biggest smile, was very kind, explained the process, and what we could expect at the end of my daughter’s round of braces. At the end of her treatment, I found that what Dr. Payne’s explained to us, was very consistent with her outcome and my daughter and I were very satisfied with the results so much so, that I am now going into braces to get that perfect smile that Dr. Payne provided for my daughter! Dr. Payne is honest and up front about what can be accomplished while displaying his interest and motivation in helping patients obtain their personal goals with their teeth.  He provides optimal service, from the equipment that is used to the quality of care and service you will receive. During my consultation, he spent a full hour going through options that I would have never known about had he not taken the time to provide and to my surprise, some of these options involved services by other professionals which would not have benefited him in any profitable way. This showed me that Dr. Payne’s practice is not driven by how much money he can gain from his patients, but how pretty of a smile he can help you get! Now that’s an Orthodontist that you would want to invest your teeth in! My family has and we couldn’t be more pleased with our choice!

Michael Payne and his staff at American River Orthodontics came highly recommended, and after two years under their care I can also highly recommend them. I always felt informed, well cared for, and part of a happy family. Starting with the cheerful Erica in scheduling, the consultation with Cheryl and Dr Payne, to the photographs, measurements, xrays, dental impressions, (and in my case) the braces and then retainers, the doctor and his staff are friendly, patient and instructive every step of the way. I could not imagine a better experience.

My son was a patient of Dr. Ron Otto, so when my grandson needed Orthodontic treatment we wanted Dr. Otto, however he had just retired and Dr. Payne took over his practice.  I have been very happy with the care my grandson has received here, the DDS is great and his staff are very knowledgable and friendly.  I highly recommend Dr. Michael Payne to anyone that needs Orthodontic treatment.

I came to Dr. Payne on a referral from my personal dentist. Never thought i would be so comfortable here. My daughter is not afraid to go see them, she is only 7 but due to some dental issues had to get braces. She loves Dr. Payne and she loves the staff, always pleasant and smiling…i truly recommend them

As good as it gets! Dr. Payne of American River Orthodontics is the kind of perfectionist you want working on your teeth! He is all business yet in the most pleasant and warm environment. The office is really easy and convenient to get to with lots of parking. It’s right off Watt Avenue on American River Drive right near the Highway 50 exit. The dental assistants are top-notch and have the most fantastic, kind attitudes. Dr. Payne makes it a priority to see every patient himself at every visit. They serve warm chocolate chip cookies in the office which they say “help the medicine go down!” The office kept me really informed about treatment time, tips for better health, they even gave me recipes for tasty dinners to try when your teeth are sore. I was surprised that my teeth weren’t more sore like they were when I was a kid. But I guess this has to do with the advances in orthodontics that use heat activated wires which work like a time-release capsule… Not too much pain at all! I even asked him to tighten my braces more because I wasn’t feeling anything. I am an adult and I put my two kids here for their braces. Dr. Payne treats both kids and adults. I was and am very very happy about this office. They give you a free estimate and let me set the fee for my re-payment schedule. That was really handy when it comes to having multiple kids in braces! They said I would be in braces for two years, but I was done in 11 months! I couldn’t believe it. They also put in a permanent retainer so I don’t have to worry about my teeth shifting. I have seen the smiles he produces and there really is something special about them. Not only are the teeth perfectly straight, but he has a way of aligning the bite so that there are not glaring things such as canines that jet too far down from the rest of the upper teeth.
