If you are in search of a good, professional, personable dentist in the San Jose area, look no further! Dr. Vu took over the established practice of my former dentist upon his retirement. I thought that I would also take that opportunity to possibly find a new dentist myself but thought that I would at least meet her and see what my impression of her was. I’m glad that I did! I have found her to be highly professional and personally willing to spend any amount of her time explaining what it is that needs to be done, different ways of addressing the issue(s), how she would go about doing it and with your new found knowledge of the situation, how you would like to have it done and finally, the amount that it will cost. Dr. Vu does her utmost to make sure that you are not experiencing pain beyond your tolerance, while she is working on your teeth/mouth. She explains what she is doing as she is doing it. Stopping occasionally to ask how you are doing. As with many other good dentists, she seems to understand that mysterious language that only dentists seem to understand, you know the one, the “mouth in the chair” talking, answering questions, etc. while she continues to do her work. I’ve referred friends to Dr. Vu in the past and all have later thanked me for the referral and how pleased they are with her work, price and personality. Lastly, her “support staff” is remarkable! They seem to go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and comfortable during your visit and any follow up telephone calls. I can honestly say that either Dr. Vu herself or one of her staff members always call the day after the appointment to see how I am doing, if I am in any pain or if there is anything more that they can do to make sure that the visit was as pleasant as possible. So, in closing, again I say, if you are searching for a good dentist, your search should stop here and give them a call. Appointments can usually be scheduled within a couple of days after the initial phone call, most likely sooner if it is an emergency.

Dr. Vu and Bobbie are absolutely awesome!! It had been a long time since I had been to a dentist, so naturally I was a bit fearful. They were both great at making me comfortable and putting my mind at ease, as well as thorough in explaining everything. I would highly recommend this dentist’s office.

I have been coming to Dr. Vu since she took over this practice several years ago. I was skeptical at first, since I had been with Dr. Malzone my entire life, but she really impressed me. Dr. Vu and staff are fantastic, professional, skilled, and kind. They make your experience a friendly and painless one. Their office is always neat and welcoming. I can’t recommend Dr. Vu highly enough. She is extremely knowledgeable and a great patient advocate. I live in Palo Alto, but I drive all the way to San Jose to visit Dr. Vu and her team. They are THAT good.

Dr. Vu is an honest and very compassionate person. She listens and gives you options both in dentistry and life. I come there for dentistry as well as “therapy.” She has a strong sense of ethics and professionalism that are delivered in a way that you think you’re talking to a close friend. You forget how smart she is because she doesn’t talk above you and she’s very humble. She makes the hour go by so fast because she’s pretty funny. The office works great together as a team, from the front to the back. They all seem to enjoy their jobs and you could see so much respect all around. Jessica, gives you estimates that are right on with your insurance benefits. She is professional and also very easy to talk to. I don’t ever wait when I go there as they keep on time with their schedule, which is good since I’m always in a rush. I look forward to my appointments because she is really good at what she does. My mouth feels healthy and I floss more because of her. I’m more confident since she fixed my teeth so I smile a lot now. I love how my teeth look in pictures. I haven’t been going to a dentist consistently for years but I trust Dr. Vu wholeheartedly to visit regularly even when I was living temporarily across the country. I thought I was the only one going to her for therapy but when I was leaving, another patient came in and said, “I’m here for my therapy, please.” It was so funny. That just shows you how great of a person she is, as well as a dentist.

One advice I always remember from my dad is “If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything.” Well, that advice doesn’t apply to Dr. Vu and her team. I used to go to those mobile dental unit that comes to my office, just because it’s convenient. Well convenience just doesn’t make up for good service and reliability. So I started shopping around for a new dentist. From a long list of names, my eyes landed on “A CENTER FOR DENTAL EXCELLENCE”. Wow, I mean how can you not try a place with a name like that. My first impression was Dr Vu’s office is clean and it smells good! It doesn’t have that sterile dentist office smells – you know, that antiseptic – pinesol – clove smell. OK, so, I’m an odor freak and I hate the smell of clove, but that’s a different story. There’s also a small fridge in the waiting area and it’s always full with juice boxes and water bottles – bonus points right there – and a jar of rice crispies .. hummm … rice crispies? Maybe on the way out but not while waiting to have my teeth cleaned. My feeling when I go to a dentist is the same as taking my car in for service. You’re never sure if the extra work they recommend is really needed or is it because the mechanic/dentist needs a new kitchen. But with Dr. Vu, I never have that “pwned” feeling. She’s really looking out for your well-being and she’s honest about what needs to be done. She’s thorough, patient, and friendly. As a matter of fact, Dr. Vu’s entire staff is friendly yet professional. If you need a new dentist, look no further than A CENTER FOR DENTAL EXCELLENCE. Dr. Vu and team are the best in San Jose.

My family has gone to Dr. Vu since she took over Dr. Malzone’s practice many years ago.  Of course, I was a bit nervous about a new dentist but I have to say, Dr. Vu put us all at ease and she is an amazingly talented dentist.  Being younger than dentists I’ve been to in the past, she’s well-versed in the newer technologies and procedures. She’s done cleanings, fillings, a veneer and even a crown or two for me and I’m very pleased with the results.  My daughter actually enjoys going to Dr. Vu’s as she can really relate to children of all ages.  Her staff is outstanding and her office runs on time–a huge plus when you’re coming in during your lunch hour.  If you’re looking for a new dentist, your search is over.

I started coming here when it was Dr Malzone’s practice. He treated me well we went through thick and thin with my dental needs. I still remember the day when i walk in and there is this short little asian lady looking at me and im like “WTF, wheres the doctor?” And she says “Im the new sheriff in town” “Oh crap” I was not looking forward to a new dentist with all their poking and prodding. Dr Malzone knew what a baby i am when it comes to my teeth and the last thing i need is a crazed new dentist jamming metal objects into my mouth to see whats going on in there. Fortunately for me Dr Vu could tell i am really sensitive right from the get-go and made the learning process painless and easy. I would say she almost made it fun, but the word Fun and Dentist just dont go together. Since she took over its been a blissful experience for my teeth. She makes the visit as pleasant as possible from when i walk in to when i am running out. She is very receptive of what it takes to make patients feel comfortable and has never let me down. I even referred three friends and my girlfriend to start going to her. Whats that tell you?

Thanks god that I found Dr. Vu for my mom via Zocdoc. She got wisdom tooth extraction and everything done on the first visit. My mom was in pain for 4-5 days and lucky everything went well. I would highly recommend Dr. Vu to everyone. Thank you.

I’ve been going to Dr. Vu’s office since we moved to San Jose in 2006. Dr. Vu is a great professional and I’m pretty happy I chose her practice. I had a root canal (that was previously half-way done by another dentist) and with the sedation technique, it was almost pain free..
