Hands down the best dental experience I’ve ever had! All of the staff are super responsive and communicative during the entire process, from setting my first appointment all the way through each step of the procedures/treatments. The office amenities are also awesome, including Netflix, Pandora, and massaging chairs. They even write a welcome message + your name on a little whiteboard in your operatory each time you visit! I’ve visited with Dr. Justene, Dr. Conrad, and the hygienist Kenn, all of whom are amazing at what they do and make you feel comfortable and cared for.

I created a yelp account to detail my experiences with a dentist. While I can’t believe that’s a sentence I’m typing, I feel it necessary to stand up for an incredible staff that was recommended to me recently by a close friend. They are genuine, intelligent, approachable, and open to discussing options. They put an incredible amount of effort towards ensuring you know exactly what will be happening to you before every visit and what has happened to you after every visit. I sat in a chair today being given a local anesthetic via needle. “I’m going to keep my eyes closed while you’re doing all this, so just tell me what to do – I’m pretty bad with needles,” I told the doctor. “I’m also bad with needles,” he laughed. “I’ll close my eyes too.” I guffawed like a crazy man who just discovered Louie C.K. Right before the needle went in (I didn’t feel it – they gave me a numbing cream pre-needle), the assistant next to me noticed me gripping the hand rests and rubbed my shoulder, telling me I was doing great. I felt like my f***in mother was there, and I’m not certain they saw the single tear that went down my not-embarrassed-to-admit face. I want everyone to experience this. Minus the needle, of course. A quick story – my last dentist in San Diego pointed out my receding lower gum line (pretty dramatically – “DID YOU KNOW THAT… … …, etc.”) and wrote me a referral to a periodontist, recommending skin grafts over every tooth. To put it simply, I spent the next five minutes asking if this was another first world problem to add to the list that I was falling for or something that would actually impact my life. I never got a clear answer. I shredded the referral the next day. Flash forward to El Cajon Blvd., where I’m told that skin grafts absolutely aren’t necessary, unless I continue to brush aggressively for the next couple years, and that I have a unique frenulum that pulls down on my gums when I talk – the fundamental reason behind my receding gums; not $10,000 worth of taking tissue from this part of my mouth and growing it over this part, but a (without insurance!) $200 procedure that anyone fond of preventative medicine would more than consider. Incredible. That said, I must address how the negative reviews lay a pathetic amount of blame on the business. Like it or not, you’re an adult – it’s your responsibility to know how much something is going to cost before getting it done and committing to getting it done. When the conductor f***s up, you can’t blame the symphony – the doctors and their staff have no say whether insurance is or isn’t going to cover something. Have them quote you while you’re there (this takes a literal 3 minutes of waiting), and then make an informed decision. Sign a paper if necessary. The doctors want you to know all of your options. If you walk into a dentist’s office knowing you just need a cleaning, you’re a fool. How many people in this country have perfect teeth and gums? How do you know that you only need a cleaning unless you’re a dentist yourself? If they recommend something, listen. Ask them why they are recommending it – as I did when the dentist recommended a different bite guard. If you don’t want it, tell them firmly you don’t want it. Because they care, they will try to help you out with these things, and may make you feel like they’re pushing recommendations more than others would. If you can’t afford it, tell them you can’t afford it. If they continue to push it after that, feel free to understandably get upset. I guarantee, it won’t happen. I can’t recommend this place enough. If you have the ability to act your age, weigh your options, and decide whether something is necessary for you at the time, go here. I’ll be recommending this office to every one of my friends.

I was having some toothache while in the San Deigo area and found A+ Dentistry. They were so helpful and friendly! The staff there was very understanding and had me seated promptly even though I was an emergency walk-in. I really felt like they cared about the issue I was having with my tooth. The dentist (who was super nice and always smiling) examined my tooth. We discovered I had a hairline fracture (probably from too much crab legs I ate a few days prior). Anyway, they explained the issue and the procedures to help fix the tooth. The dentist was so informative and I can not say how glad and thankful I am that I found A+ Dentistry. Thank you all at A+ Dentistry!! =)

I recently got insurance through my employer and knew I needed serious attention to my teeth as I haven’t been to the dentist in two years. I went to another place in Linda Vista where they stated I needed a deep cleaning, extraction, and an implant… but I would need other work done before my extraction. I thought that was strange so I wanted a second opinion. I received a flyer to A+ Family Dental and I booked a consultation immediately and I met with Dr. Doan. She took x-rays and create a comprehensive plan of what I should do. She reviewed each step of the plan and the reasoning behind each decision. I needed a deep cleaning, an extraction, fillings, and three crowns. Alongside follow up care with my deep cleanings. I know my teeth are in bad shape and I knew I needed additional care so I didn’t feel as if I was being “ripped off” or being taken advantage of. Claudia and one of the male hygienists are great (I forgot your name, sorry!). They are friendly and know how to decrease dental anxiety. Claudia explains each process of the teeth cleaning and makes it into an interactive learning experience rather than feeling like you are being scolded or talked down to. I’ve worked with I believe all four of the doctors and they are great at what they do. The staff is attentive in reminding you of your appointments and your follow up treatment. I would definitely recommend coming here if you have dental anxiety. Their dental chairs have the massage effect and they have a screen that will play Netflix while you are undergoing your procedure. It definitely gives me a little bit of Grey’s Anatomy vibes because you can tell the doctors are very hands-on with their dental assistants (?) and are always explaining different procedures or techniques to them.

THE BEST experience I’ve had in anyyy dental office EVER! The entire staff at A+ family dentistry it is so kind and lovable. When you make an appointment come a day before or you will get a text reminder for your appointment. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a smile and there is such a welcoming environment. I got x-rays done by Israel Moreno (DA) and Ron (DA) & intraoral photos as well. Dr. Justene explained everything to me so perfectly ! Shes sooooo nice and kind ! I got a filling done by Dr. Janice and Vanessa (DA) assisted her. It is professional work here and I felt a part of every step in the process. I also got a deep cleaning by Berenice and she is bilingual which helped me as well since I speak both English and Spanish! Overall my experience was perfect !! I even got a goody bag and mouth washes to take home !! They were able to do all this in one day and I will be back tomorrow for more work !!! I’m excited to come back

I dont usually write reviews but i had to and i hate the dentist. I had a bad experience from the past dentist i had went to so i kinda stayed away, a year later a co worker of mines had reccomended me to A+ Family Dentistry and i had such a wonderful experience with there team. Everyone in this building is extremely friendly and helpful, the staff is very caring and also funny which makes you feel ok when the needle goes in. They are very professional and always keeping me updated with my appointments, They even text you and reply which is pretty cool. i went in recently for a clean and check up, i had came back again to change all my metals fillings and also got my teeth whitning from kimberly. Overall i give this place 5 STARS because they deserve it, Thank you Dr Justene and Dr Janice and the team.

Not enough kind words to say about this place! First of all, the customer service is absolutely wonderful. I am insured under my father & for some reason, my coverage wasn’t updated. A+ Family Dentistry were not only patient during this process but even helped reach out to the insurance to get everything sorted out for me! Scheduling is always easy & they make sure to remind you of every appointment. They also spend time with you to finalize what the best payment options are (for those that are not insured) & it’s refreshing not to be forced into services & hidden fees. Second, the dentists & assistants do a tremendous job. I got a crown redone & all 4 wisdom teeth taken out in the same day, without being put to sleep. The procedure itself went smooth & the pain was so minimal afterwards that I only needed to take the prescribed pain meds for 2 days! They also talk you through the entire process so you know exactly what is going on & why; or you could kick back & take advantage of the Netflix they set up for you (how cool, I know right!) Lastly, I want to add that personality goes a long way. From beginning to end, A+ Family Dentistry has been nothing less than pleasant. The owners make sure to meet you at least once, the front desk is always prompt & friendly, & they even set you up with a personalized welcome sign with each visit! Nowadays it is hard to find businesses that prioritize customer satisfaction first so this location comes at a high recommendation 🙂

Not really sure about all these terrible reviews, but I have had good experiences. I was very dentally irresponsible the last few years and let what could have been a small issue turn into something very serious (abscess, infection, huge huge cavity, aches, swelling etc.). Upon my first appointment, I do not believe they were BS-ing me, as the dental assistant explained each one of my X-rays and showed me where my problems were, even before the Dr. came in to start. He was so friendly and patient and answered all of my questions and when the Dr. came in, it was the same. I had already known my issue was serious before I even went to the dentist and I was glad that they didn’t seem to judge or scold me for not coming in sooner. I pretty much assumed going in that I’d need a root canal, and they confirmed that was the case. Actually, that’s what I wanted done anyways once I knew how bad I’d let it get. After doing research, I don’t believe their cost was any more expensive than any other root canal and additional cavity treatments. Everyone there is so friendly and they clearly explained everything and made sure I understood what was going to happen and approved it first. So far, after three appointments, they haven’t tried to upsell me or anything. They always start quickly and get me in and out in a timely manner. I will keep in mind the upsell warnings from other reviews, but so far I am very pleased with A+.

A+ is the BEST dental office I’ve ever been to, from the staff up front to everyone behind the scenes. Dr’s Justene and Janice show genuine care about your situation and speak with you face to face about your concerns & needs, taking notes and conducting a detailed survey from the very start. I have met with practically everyone that works here (srsly like 15 ppl or more, b/c I had serious teeth issues) and EVERY professional here gave me care and advice I’ve never had before, real A+ service, the name is fitting. My hygienist Princess is the best and takes her time with my dental care, just like everyone else here. The vibe in this office is soooo chill and welcoming too!   Love this place and recommend it 1000%!!
