I had neglected my teeth for years. I saw the Aesthetic and Family Dentistry sign (across the street from Rodman’s) and scheduled an appointment with Dr Obholz to bond a chipped front tooth. Amie, the wonderful receptionist, fit me in right away when I explained that I’d broken a tooth. While there, Dr. O talked about some work that could be done on my bottom teeth, and I signed up for treatment. I had plenty of dental problems–aesthetic and otherwise–but rather than discuss extensive procedures, Dr. Obholz approached them one at a time. When one treatment was completed (after several visits), we talked about the next step. Dr. O is a painless dentist; she is calm, professional, and extremely nice–as is her entire staff! I was so pleased with the results all along the way that I never hesitated to move forward and tackle the next trouble spot. My teeth are now truly beautiful–a source of pride rather than embarrassment. I totally recommend Dr. Obholz. She and her staff are so kind, friendly, and pleasant that I never stressed about going to an appointment. I put myself in their capable hands and could not be more pleased.

Everyone at Aesthetic & Family Dentistry was extremely nice, helpful, and professional. Ruth was my dental hygienist and Dr. Obholz my doctor. Both were absolutely fantastic, taking comfort into account to make what can be a nerve wrecking experience into something pleasant and something to look forward to in the future. My experience here was definitely my best dental experience ever.

It was such a wonderful experience! First I was greeted by Gorgeous Amie and on the way back she helped me with my next appointment, next Mira came to ask me a few simple questions related to COVID-19, helped me to disinfect my hands and later checked my temperature! I felt so much safe there! After that I met a beautiful young lady who took me to room where I was waiting for a doctor, she made me feel so welcomed and relaxed. Dr. Yelena Obholz stoped by to say hello and asked how was everything, it was priceless, knowing how busy she could be! Dr. Olivia Bassily was happy and cheerful as always, she checked my beautiful smile and gave me a great and very knowledgeable feedback! On the way back caring Mira helped me with my payment and wished me all the best! Thank you so so so much! I love coming here! It’s family like environment, I love every moment being around this beautiful team! I wish you all only the best and look forward to seeing you all next time!

Highly professional, efficiently run dental office. Very personable and professional staff. Facilities are bright and clean. Equipment was high tech and modern. Location is very convenient and entry is on the street so no need to go into the building. Text based messages are very convenient. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend. This is a great dentist office! They have state of the art equipments, the office is very clean, and are very efficient during appointments. They also take the time to answer questions and explain any procedures or diagnosis. On the admin side, they are very courteous, easy to work with, and were flexible when I needed to reschedule. I recommend Amie Gaye as a point of contact as she is very responsive and goes above and beyond to meet your needs.

I just love this Dentist! Originally, I was seen by Dr. Yelena, but as her practice has expanded, I shifted to Dr. Bassily. I have to say, she is totally adorable, in addition to being a super dentist. She has such a great demeanor and is very solicitous about making sure I’m comfortable and not in undue pain. The best part is that they can create a crown while you wait! That is so wonderful. Twice in the past year and a half, I’ve had molars break and, for both, they’ve been able to get me in quickly and take care of the problem within hours. I totally recommend this dentist. They’re a bit more expensive than I was used to, but the quality of service and dentistry has been elevated to an art form with these dentists.

Very helpful, friendly and attentive staff. I did my research prior to my visit because I thought I would be needing oral surgery and thankfully do not. I wanted to find a office that could do any and all dental procedures incase I needed a lot of work, but also an office with highly educated staff, good reviews and someplace I could go for normal cleanings in the future. This office is no where close to where I live, but exactly what I wanted. My prior dentist office is always overbooked, crowded and made me feel like I was a bother when I asked “how much longer until I am seen”. Here this is not the case. I was very surprised at the level of attentiveness by the front desk from the moment I called. She followed up with my insurance, old dentist and several other questions I had prior to my appointment. My old dentist office would give me attitude when I was there on time for an appointment then asked to wait an additional thirty minutes until I was seen. The dentist and her assistant answered all my questions and gave me advice on continuing care without making me feel bad or sad about my mouth. Although I will be committing a large amount of money to future care, I am confident that the dentist is giving me what I need and it will be for the best in the long run. Further, the office is very inviting, VERY CLEAN and has activities for children should you need to bring yours along for an appointment. I like the fact they sit you down with a staff member to go over your payments and appointments. These extra steps makes it feel like you are really getting you paid for and better understand the breakdown of the cost in treatment. My old office would just quickly get you a appointment card and send you on your way. All the equipment is new and state of the art so I think there is another layer of stress taken away in seeing that. I know some equipment is just as good even if it is old, but if feels nice knowing my oral care is getting the best treatment. I know oral health is a true sign of ones overall health and happy that this office is going to get me the best care possible. Last, the culture of this office is like no other. I didn’t feel as though my questions were keeping the dentist from seeing other appointments and she not only listened, but her and her assistant took the time to use images and objects to clearly explain the work I needed done and how it would impact me. I think often the dentist is stressful for many people and many offices in the area overbook the practice so an appointment can be rushed, start late or ran through too quickly. Dr. Obholz made mention to two cavities my last dentist said were “small and might go away on their own”. I think my old dentist had a false sense of optimism and Dr.O is a realist and also very kind. I appreciate the honestly and care I received today. Very happy to be proactive and not continue to wait as my last dentist wanted. 10/10 for this office&staff Shout out to the front desk too! So nice to feel like a real person and not just an appointment in the books.

This is a wonderful dental office. I have gotten the best care to address my difficult dental history and to create a workable, affordable plan for all future dental options. I am sensitive to pain, and this office takes good care of me for all procedures. Mindy is a next-level dental care-giver — beyond a hygienist, she really cares about your issues and finds the best way to work with your schedule to plan appointments.

I had a great first visit! The staff was attentive and courteous, and I appreciate how they clearly explained necessary and optional procedures to me. They did not make me feel guilty for the fact that it had been a long while since my last dental appointment. I also trusted their recommendations, and I did not feel like they were simply selling me on future procedures.

Dr Obholz and Dr Bassily are both fantastic dentists- the office is in a great location (Friendship Heights) and everyone there makes you feel comfortable.  Mary, one of the hygienists, is also fantastic, and she has the patience of a Saint, too. I’ve even recommended both Dr Obholz and Dr Bassily to friends and colleagues, and they’ve told me that they, too, had a very positive experience.  Aesthetic & Family Dentistry is really well run and they process my insurance claims in record time – they are the best.

I had an extremely overall awesome experience at Aesthetic & Family Dentistry! And I truly mean it! I came to see Dr. Obholz and her team with a tooth I assumed had a cavity and providing a travel insurance from Germany. I didn’t have an appointment and she had other patients but she took her time and looked at my tooth and confirmed my concern. I dealt with my travel insurance and then had my treatment done. Dr. Obholz did a great job and I got pampered with all the “US treatment”. It’s very different then in Germany. You don’t get anesthesia for a filling. Her whole team was so patient and helpful to me. Especially her Dental Assistant Tigist who speaks German. She made my time there very enjoyable and I felt like at home. All the insurance paperwork was done in the background which was so helpful and easy, too. I highly recommend Dr. Obholz and her team to any German Traveller with a tooth problem and to all Washingtonians. Thank you so much!

Needed to have a couple of my front teeth rebuilt, needless to say I’m a big baby when it comes to going to the dentist. The folks at Aesthetic & Family Dentistry were great. Didn’t feel a thing when the needle was put in to numb the area, in fact half way through the procedure I was still waiting for it. Highly recommend this dentist

I first learned about the dentistry when I had a dental emergency and my old dentist refused to return my calls. I then called the dentistry and they literally told me that they could see me in 10 minutes. I was extremely grateful for their flexibility and the appointment could not have gone better. Since then, I have done a series of procedures with them and have always left feeling satisfied with their service and professionalism. To make it even better, they are the nicest people, from the receptionist to the manager.

This is the best dental visit I’ve had as an adult and let me tell you a little more about my relationship with dentists over the years: I had braces as a teenager. After my braces were removed in 2007 there was a lapse of about 3 years before I went back to see a dentist for a regular check up. Over the years, I’ve bounced around dentists mainly because I’ve changed insurance companies, but also I’ve never really felt that I found “the” dentist until I met Dr. Obholz. I’ve been told by a couple of previous dentists that I have receding gums probably as the result of having had braces and grinding my teeth. They never explained the severity of my case but I assumed it was serious because at some point about 5 year ago a dentist suggested a gum graft. I was completely frightened by the idea of the surgery so 5 years went by before I decided to go back to see a dentist. I am so lucky to have found Dr. Obholz. Really. I felt welcome the minute I stepped into the door and honestly I’ve never been to a dental office so aesthetically pleasing and I’ve never experienced the quality of customer service I experienced at this place! Everyone I spoke to was smiling, they were kind and caring. And it felt very genuine, like they really like their workplace – and I interacted with a few staff members. I originally went in for a consultation about a procedure Dr. Obholz performs to address the issue with my receding gums. After doing a little bit of research it seemed like a good alternative to the traditional gum graft surgery. I can not commend Dr. Obholz enough! She looked into my case, patiently listened to all of my concerns and gave me a very honest professional opinion. My entire interaction with her was very pleasant, I did not feel rushed and I honestly felt like she cared! She told me that yes, I have some recession but not to the point where I need to get surgery done. She showed me my x-rays and walked me through my specific situation. She showed me images of what a case that would actually benefit from the surgery looks like and then took pictures of my gums to show me how mine compare to a more severe case. She gave me recommendations on things that I can do to prevent or slow down the recession. I’ve never felt so educated and informed leaving a dental office! I also expressed discontent with my front two teeth since they’ve worn down over the years because of grinding and Dr. Obholz took care of them with composite veneers and I could not be happier with the results! Great place! Great staff, I can not recommend enough!

I love the work they did to my very bad teeth. We worked together for over a year to get my smile back, which I thought was gone forever. I was embarrassed because the bottom of my front teeth were brown a getting smaller each month. I didn’t have any back teeth to chew on so that left me having to do more damage to my front teeth. the relationship with most of the staff was great and I looked forward to seeing them each appointment. I felt safe and that my health was one of their most concerns as was theirs. I’ve been going to Dr. Obholz’s practice for over 15 years now. For a brief period I had to switch dentists due to a change in my insurance, and I’m so happy to be back in her office. The quality of the care is far beyond anything I’ve experienced in other offices. Dr. Obholz and the rest of the team are incredibly friendly, helpful and efficient. Every experience is positive and they make dental work as quick and pain free as they can, while also being very attentive to the costs of each visit. They are always happy to walk you through what your insurance will cover and what it won’t. I can’t recommend this practice enough!

I’ve been avoiding the dentist for around eight years. After a few bad and painful experiences, I had no desire to go again – even after losing a crown. Sometimes though, you just need to face your fears. I was given a referral by a co-worker to Dr. Obholz and I feel very lucky that this is where he sent me. I just finished my sixth visit in three months, needing a few procedures done to get my teeth and gums healthy again. The thing that stands out first and foremost is how incredibly friendly the entire staff is. From the front desk, to the hygienists, the billing/scheduling coordinator and Dr. O, I felt very comfortable right away. Dr. O, I think sensing my anxiety, was very careful, checked often to see how I was doing throughout the procedures, and let me know what exactly it was she was doing each step of the way. They offer many amenities to make you comfortable, you can watch TV or Netflix or listen to music if it helps you relax. They even have a massage option on their dental chairs. I could go on and on about the amenities, but I suggest you just check it out for yourself. My biggest takeaway is the confidence I have in my smile again, definitely a huge boost to my self-esteem. I’m incredibly grateful to their team for the work they did for me and look forward to my visits in the future.
