Dr Matsuura has been my dentist (as well as my son’s and daughter’s and their family) for over 20yrs. He has always displayed excellent dental skills and an ability to thoroughly explain the dental procedures, the options available, and their side-after effects. I recently underwent two separate root canals in a short span of time at an Endodontics and then subsequently received two permanent fillings at Pearl City Dental Care. But it was Dr Matsuura who thoroughly explained not only the root canal procedure done by another dentist, but also the reason for why I was continuing to experience discomfort. Today, two days later and with two permanent filling, I am thoroughly pain-free and can chew my food well. Dr Matsuura is as good as it gets.

I have “challenging” teeth and always used to dread going to the dentist. However, Dr. Blake’s goes out of his way to make each visit a positive experience with his calming and confident personality. I recently had a a filling replacement that took almost 1 hour to change and Dr. Blake always made sure I was okay. As I was waiting to pay the bill, I was pleasantly surprised when I wasn’t charged. Everyone from the front office to the dental hygienist are super friendly. Highly recommend Dr. Blake to anyone as the location is convenient with free parking and great office hours!

I have had a horrific toothache for over a year controlled by not eating on that side and regular pain killers…went to 2 other dentists who X-rayed but found nothing. One shaved tooth down, which made it worse, the other prescribed a very expensive mouth guard, which I knew i would not use regularly. Aiea Pearl City Dental gave me an almost immediate early morning appt, and Dr. Blake Matsuura checked it out– found a fractured tooth and after explaining to me and consulting w/ an oral/facial specialist, anesthetized it so well I didn’t feel anything and extracted the tooth ! All so efficiently and kindly done ! Thank you thank you so much and also thank you to his kind and gentle assistant Lydia. For someone like me so fearful of dentists, I actually look forward to my next appt when I can finally get my teeth healthy. Mahalo nui.

Wowzers! I would highly recommend Blake Matsuura DDS, he provided such excellent service to me today. I was amazed how I never felt any pain or discomfort when he gave me the numbing injection so he could do my procedure. I’m so glad I found this dentist. I will definitely recommend him to all my family, friends and co-workers. The staff at the office is also very friendly and so polite. Even the other DDS you see in the hall say “Hello”. Dr Blake came highly recommended to me by my Physician. As was told, Dr Blake was very professional yet friendly. He is obviously knowledgeable as he answered all my questions & concerns with detailed info and with much patience. My problem was, my tooth/crown fell out and I was looking desperately for a dentist. Although your office is only keeping current patients, Dr Blake kindly accepted my urgent need for a dentist, and took me in – I am so appreciative! At near the end of my appointment, Dr Blake took immediate care of the tooth, narrowed down and explained all my options, and even gave me suggestions. My son really enjoys going to the dentist. Can’t believe my eyes and ears too! We enjoy accompanying him too for his appointments. Has been coming here when he was very young. Dr. Blake and all of his staff knows their patients by first name. Very friendly, modern equipment, organized, clean, and spacious office. For every cleaning and/or procedure, they will provide napkin with chain and cool glasses to protect eyes. Every time my son gets to watch a cool, age appropriate show in operating room. He goes in for his six months check up. Staff takes the time to provide preventative and post dental care info which I love. My son recently had sealants done for his four molars to prevent cavities as he has too many grooves and evidence of Oreo crumbs would remain on surface even after he uses an electric toothbrush and I tried to remove it. Remodeled the office to provide better service for patients with email and written instructions for social distancing during pandemic. Thank you Dr. Blake and staff for providing a warm welcome and impeccable service!

Very good first experience here. Staff is professional and friendly. Doctor Blake did a good job of explaining not only about my teeth but also other factors related to my overall health. Equipment is modern as is the office — clean and bright as well. And if you’re into it, they have a TV to keep your mind preoccupied while they work. Very impressed with my experience here. They are people oriented. You’ll get smiles from when you walk in to when you leave. They explain what they are doing and what’s going to be done as well as proactive things you can do at home…even though I don’t have dental insurance, they were more than welcoming and I really expected the fees to be high, I was wrong…they were a lot lower than I expected, really lower. They also have a yearly membership program you can sign up for that actually pays for itself…it includes x-rays, exams, treatments, and cleanings as well as several discounts for other procedures…I must say I felt very taken care of…two huge thumbs up

The staff here are so friendly and very skilled. My teeth always feel super clean after my visit and the hygienists seem very knowledgable in their recommendations for better dental care. I see Dr. Blake who is so nice and good at his job. I’ve had him change out some old fillings over the years and he’s so fast but meticulous. I have known Mark for 39 years I would not have gone to anybody else. I would only trust and Mark two pull two teeth two root canal‘s and one filling in one day. I am dreadfully afraid of the injections to numb my my mouth but he does it with a special technique where I didn’t feel it at all! I didn’t feel anything when he injected me. And surprising me I didn’t feel much pain or discomfort throughout the entire procedure maybe 15 seconds because of our persistent resistant root That didn’t want to come out. But that’s all! Mark is amazing and I had another procedure done by his colleague about two years ago and I felt no discomfort Then as well. He is truly the best! I have renewed appreciation for the job that he hast to do. It’s not easy but he is the dentist extraordinaire. God bless you and your family abundantly!

I needed a new dentist asap so my brother recommended this place. They accepted me as a new patient and I’m pretty satisfied w/ the experience. Friendly and courteous staff, and Dr. Blake Matsuura is very knowledgable, informative, kind, & sociable. I was pretty impressed w/ the dental equipment/technology used to assess, examine, & treat my teeth especially since my previous dentist was kind of “old-school.” Newest/updated technology is always important. This is another reason why I struggled to find another dentist b/c I feared not being able to find someone who will thoroughly assess, examine, intervene, treat, & use prevention measures. B/c I was given valid explanations for certain things.. I am now going to take precautionary measures to prevent further problems so thanks for giving me honest facts. Blake took the time to explain the situation and options. He has all the latest technology and showed pictures of the tooth on his iPad. He even called that evening to make sure everything was fine and said to call him back if there is any problems with the procedure. I was impressed. His staff and the receptionist were super. Receptionist fit us in on the same day for emergency work when my regular Dentist was not available. The cost was also very reasonable as the insurance we had did not cover anything. Would I return and recommend them, in a heartbeat. I know who I will go to if I ever switch dentists. There are a number of dentists in this office, so there should be no problem getting a appointment if one of them is not available.

Been going to Aiea Pearl City Dental Care for several years. Absolutely love it here. Dr. Blake is awesome – we always end up chatting about our Fantasy Football Leagues. The office staff and other personnel are always pleasant. With COVID they have taken excellent precautionary measures. From the COVID questionnaire, to the temperature taking, to the new office set up that allows safe social distancing, providing goggles for you to wear along with having you rinse your mouth prior to them starting. Makes you know, they care for your well being along with their well being…which is doubly important. My dental hygienist is wonderful. I always enjoy catching up on my visits. She is excellent at what she does. I highly recommend her but I can’t give her name cos she’s already booked up as is…lol. But if you get her, consider yourself lucky. (I’m kinda bias…haven’t had any other hygienist work on me there but I’m sure they’re all good) If you’re looking for a new place. Give them a call. I’m glad I did.

This is Covid time and they are renovating so I think under the circumstances they rate 5 stars. Plenty of emails and text messages to confirm the appointment. Covid questionnaire online (and paper for older folks at check in). Online can be done ahead of time, making check in so much faster and easier. Waiting area is outside in the hall, but since they now have the entire floor, it works well. Social distancing is followed. Staff all wear masks and face shields. Was there for my semi-annual cleaning and check up. Kelly was my hygienist and she was great. Friendly and explained everything, and even though I do pretty well, I actually learned new things to improve my dental hygiene regimen! Dr Blake is great, friendly and thorough. Have been coming here for more than seven years (after my last dentist retired). Their renovation will allow them to greatly increase capacity. They’re going from five rooms to ten and bringing in more staff. I recommend Aiea Pearl City Dental Care.

It was my 1st visit to Aiea Pearl City Dental Care and from my 1st step into the office, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They made me feel like I was one of their long term patients! It didn’t hurt either that their covid protocols were 1st rate especially with the air filtration system that was employed in all the rooms. The equipment and instruments that they used looked like were the latest and high tech. Dr Blake was very personable and knowledgeable and took the time to review and explain all the X rays and surface photos that were taken and made recommendations on how to care for my teeth and gums. He’s the only dentist thus far that gave me a shot which did not hurt (that much!!) Dr Blake and staff deserve all their 5 star reviews!!
