With over 40 years of dental care and dental work in my history, this group has handled all my dental needs for the past 15 years. Alabama Family Dental is fantastic! I was so impressed with this office! My Dentist was out of town and his assistant referred me to them due to a severe toothache. I called on Friday at 10am and they got me in by 12pm. The front desk was so friendly and got me right back. The assistant in the back and Dr. Whatley were so kind! They found the issue quick and came up with a plan and had me on my way. However, they ensured me if I needed anything else to just give them a call! Definitely a great place whether you’re looking for a long term dentist or some where to go if yours isn’t available! I appreciate everyone there so much for all their help!

I was very pleased with my first visit at this dental office today. I was immediately greeted by their friendly front desk staff. I believe I was brought back a few minutes before the time my appt was scheduled and placed in a massage chair. By far the most gentle, yet thorough cleaning I have ever had. The dental staff have an excellent bedside manner and even ask you what type of music you prefer so they can play it for you during your appointments. I cannot recommend this office enough, especially if you have anxiety about going to the dentist.

By far the best dental office I have ever had the pleasure of visiting, From top to bottom the experience was just a Joy and a relief, no other office in the City of Mobile was willing to accommodate my needs in the same day! On the Brink of giving up hope and living with this bad tooth for a couple more weeks my wife called and they were able to get me in, get my X-Rays, come up with a dental plan, and extract my tooth all in the same visit. Alabama Family Dental is a God send, and the staff is just the best I’ve seen, they make you feel welcome and treat you like a human being!! I will be coming back and recommending this awesome place to everyone I know!

Omg, I love the staff and Dr. Whatley. When you walk in the energy is amazing, it’s like I live for going to the dentist. Mrs. Janie so sweet and personable. Words can not describe exceptional experience I had with American Family Dental. After a terrible experience with another dental practice, I avoided going to the dentist for 10 years. That was until today when I sore tooth forced me into the doors of Alabama Family Dental. As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted by friendly smiling faces. After I filled out the paperwork, I was taken on a tour of the entire office. Being able familiarize myself with the facilities first helped reduce some of the anxiety I had. After the tour, I sat down with an employee who created a patient profile for me so they could personalize my experience. This included; my favorite drinks, food, music, and hobbies. From there I was taken to an exam room where my favorite station was playing and I was seated in a massage chair. By the time the exam started, I was about as relaxed as humanly possible. X-rays were taken in the room and displayed on the screen in front of me. I discussed with the doctor a plan to get me back on track with dental care. The doctor and staff are beyond knowledgeable and skilled, and I can not express how thankful I am for their care and support. I will definetly be back and would recommend Alabama Family Dental to anyone who is looking dentist.

I hardly ever write reviews but this business is amazing. I cracked a tooth this past Friday. I called my dentist and left a message but became concerned about the lack of any weekend contact options. Saturday morning I woke up and began looking for another option. I saw a bunch of high praise across various sites for Alabama Family Dental. I called them at 8:30a to ask if I could be worked in. They told me the schedule was full but if I came in around 10a they would see what they could do. I arrived at 10a, filled out some paperwork and was in an exam room by 10:30a. Around 1pm I walked out of their clinic with a new permanent crown and my new dentist for life. Every person there from the lady who answered my call that morning (Amber), to all the front desk people (Amber was one of them) on my arrival, to Jadie (sp?), Alex and Dr. Whatley in the exam room were phenomenal! This was the most impressive dental visit/clinic I have ever visited. Bonus, Dr. Whatley took me to the back and let me watch his cool 3D tooth printer create my new tooth. Thanks to everyone over there!

His office uses state of the art technology and the latest cutting edge techniques. Office environment is calm and every patient needs are addressed individually upon first visit, even down to music preferences and warm blankets if you get chilly during your visit! I would rate 20 stars if that were an option, but whether you are apprehensive about dentists, wanting to make a change, new to the area or just need a referral… LOOK NO FURTHER!

I personally have always hated going to the dentist ever since I was a kid. The people here at Alabama Family Dental helped with my “dentist phobia” by making me feel right at home with their friendly service and kind consideration for those of us who fear the dentist chair. They made sure I was comfortable and at ease during my visit. I even got to pick the music I listened to while having my teeth worked on, which as a Christian I greatly appreciated. Not only were they friendly, they were also professional and informative. For someone who likes to know what’s going on inside her mouth, I tend to ask a lot of questions whenever I go to the dentist. Every question was answered with great patience and knowledge and put into terms that a non-professional like me could understand. I definitely feel more comfortable about going back to the dentist now. I would highly recommend this office to anyone.

My husband and I LOVE this place. He has been scared of the dentist since he was younger because of previous dentists causing him so much pain. AFD has gotten him past that fear. They don’t charge for “laughing gas” because they understand that dentist related anxiety is serious and can cause people to avoid dental care. They do all they can to make you comfortable. Not to mention the work they do is fantastic. I HIGHLY recommend AFD!

I cannot say enough about how amazing this dentist was! As a walk-in on a Saturday, I was prepared to wait. And wait we did. The office closed for the day at 3pm; I didn’t get seen until after that. Even though we had been waiting for hours, I was fully prepared to be sent home with pain medicine and a scheduled appointment for another day due to the time. Dr. Wheatley knew I needed work done– I was clearly hurting– and so he and his staff stayed late to make sure I could get taken care of. They were fast, efficient and inexpensive. Taylor is the hygienist that I’ve ever had. She took time to explain all of the issues that I was facing and she answered all of my questions and concerns. I have sensitive teeth due to receding gums and the hygienist was very careful when cleaning my teeth. Dr. Whatley explained my follow up treatment thoroughly and professionally. I look forward to returning as much as you can look forward to going to the dentist. 🙂 10/22/21 – I was having some pain in the left side of my mouth and was worried that I had a cracked crown. The office got me in quickly and accessed the situation. Luckily, it was just some recession and they gave me a fluoride treatment to help. Jayne was awesome, as was Dr. Whatley!
