It’s sad how all these pissed off Groupon customers with big mouths are bringing down the overall average rating of Alegria Dental Center because as a regular patient, my experiences here are fantastic. When your dentist (Dr. Emad) saves you thousands of dollars by working with you to explore inexpensive and less invasive procedures for your teeth instead of prescribing the most expensive one without educating you on your needs, you know you’ve stumbled upon a gem. He is very caring and invested in his patients, something that I, unfortunately, have never experienced before with a doctor. It was fate that I met Dr. Emad because I was actually just passing by after being turned away by another busy dental center when I decided on a whim to visit Alegria Dental– only to find that they close at 2pm on Saturdays and it was already 2:20pm. Luckily, Dr. Emad was still chillin’ on the 2nd floor, and just like the caring dentist he is, he re-opened his office to give me a free 40-min consultation and science lesson on the history of teeth and root canals. One of my cavities was prescribed by another dentist for a definite root canal and 5 other teeth for possible root canals without any other alternatives. That other dentist was also very judgmental and had a superiority complex against my teeth (Beverly West Dental Group). But despite root canals being 10x more expensive (aka: more money in the dentist’s pocket), after educating me on all of this information, Dr. Emad proceeded to explore the inexpensive and less invasive procedure of fillings without any judgment towards my ugly cavities. He also humors me whenever I freak out (ie: in the face of needles and pain) and calms me down by talking soothingly to me during my procedure. I can’t believe that just one week ago my teeth were lost in this big world without Dr. Emad protecting them against cavities. I know going to the dentist can be scary, so it’s critical to find the right person to trust with your precious chompers. After fixing my cavities, I will definitely adopt Dr. Emad as my primary dentist and come in for routine check-ups every 6 months. 10/10 would recommened Alegria Dental Center! 🙂 #itsamiracle #ThanksDrEmad P.S: Granted, my review is for Dr. Emad, specifically, and not the dental assistants (I almost had a silent panic attack when Dr. Emad handed my cleaning off to an assistant– I breathed a huge sigh of relief when Dr. Emad ended up taking over and cleaning my teeth himself).

Hi my name is Rosio Mendez. I am very surprized reading this review. I am the patient of this office for almost 5 years. Doctors and the staff are very nice people. I want  to mantion Dr. Emad’s name who is very good surgeon and I have two implants done by him. In all these 5 years I have never fill that, these 2 teeth are artifitial. I fil very comfortable with that implants. I am very happy to be a patient of this office and  I really recomend everyone to go to that office.

What a great dentist. I was in pain. Dr. Irmar took very good care of me and fix my broken crowns for a decent price. He worked with me regarding payments. I am very happy with his work and I would recommend him highly. Don’t listen to all the cheap Groupon customers. They always have some thing to complain.

A small disclaimer, I am one of those folks who’ve had a traumatic experience with a dentist back when I was a teen (a part of my tongue was cut of by a crazy dentist who did a lot of unnecessary work in my mouth) so I am very particular about the dentists I feel comfortable with. I bought the groupon  two years ago for a cleaning. And our family has been coming here (unfortunately) on a regular basis. My first experience was an amazing cleaning, I mean not all dental offices do such a thorough cleaning for a full on price let alone a groupon price. I was amazed and knew I could trust the quality of work done. The office is clean, the staff is nice and courteous. Since then my husband had a crown replaced, but what impressed me the most about Dr. Emad is his work with my kids. My daughter’s baby teeth simply don’t fall out like they should when adult teeth come in, the first time we went to get her teeth extracted it went by so quick and easy that she didn’t even understand how and what happened she didn’t even cry and was just stunned when she got out of the chair. Then my son who was four, went to see a highly recommended pediatric dentist and while she was very sweet and nice with the kids I could not possibly stick to her approach. My son’s tooth had decayed so badly that he needed a root canal and a crown done. He seemed ok and we got the process underway, the gel followed by two syringes of Novocaine and he survived all that without much problem, but then she put a plastic cover over his open mouth and put a ring on the bad tooth. Well he wasn’t having any of that for more than 5 min (all the meanwhile she is waiting for the numbness to kick in) and finally I couldn’t convince him that we needed to do this to have his tooth fixed, he just ripped out all this stuff from his mouth and got out of the chair and wouldn’t have it. So the doc recommended that he be put under general anesthesia otherwise it would be impossible.  If it wasn’t for the stupid ring around the tooth he would have been ok with the process but she wouldn’t budge, she was doing everything by the book, which wasn’t working for us and I felt cornered into a decision I wasn’t ok with. I called Alegria next day and Dr Emad told us to come in towards the end of the day. He took a look at my son’s situation and confirmed that he needed a root canal and a crown. He said that it was ridiculous that any doc would put a ring around the tooth that was getting a crown, which completely made sense to me because those rings are used to keep a filling in shape from my own sad experiences. So with cartoons on the TV Dr. Emad went to work my son who was clearly traumatized from the day before didn’t want what was going on but he didn’t cry until the crown was already on his tooth. Off we went, done!! The second time my daughter needed her teeth pulled to allow for the new ones to grow in properly, half a year later, we without hesitation went to see Dr Emad. After she had asked me all the detailed questions about the procedure she was very nervous. As she was sitting in the chair she was squirming around and scared at what will happen next. The assistant accommodated her as much as possible after we were done with the x-rays, Dr. Emad walked in.  She was so hipper and nervous that we started to hold her down so that she doesn’t hurt herself once the process was underway, but what I was amazed at is that he didn’t use the numbing gel (as protocol would dictate) without hearing our conversation about the numbing gel. My daughter’s worst impression from the previous time was the taste of the numbing gel, so she was concerned that she didn’t want the gel. He just sensed that it would be better to get this done quickly so as not to torment her. She relaxed as soon as Dr. Emad started to put Novocaine into the gums (I couldn’t believe that I didn’t have to hold her during what I consider the more unpleasant part of the deal) and then without waiting the standard 15 min for the medicine to kick in he started to pop the baby teeth out in a matter of seconds the three of them were out, we were all done. I couldn’t help but smile with relief and disbelieve at how fast it was all done. What I appreciated the most besides how easy and quick he did everything every time i came with my kids is that from experience he knew what needed to be done with minimal procedural drag which usually accompanies most dentists’ styles. Thank Dr. Emad, I am sad we are moving far away soon but I am sure that when we are back here visiting we’ll come to get things checked out. To anyone reading this, I hope you find my experience useful because no one should have to be uncomfortable making a decision that doesn’t have to be drastic when I can be solved simply.

I visited this dentist because i was in pain. My crown broke off and my fillings were all old and would crumble off as well. Dr. EMAD Mowad and staff was Awesome. He walk me through the process, how long it would take and how much it would cost. He listens to my concerns and what i had to say. They worked very well with me and my insurance company. Within a month my old broken crown was replace with a new one and the old fillings were replace with 3 brand new inlays. Dr. Mowad was very professional and he tried to save my tooth and gave me the best service for my needs. All my dental pain is now gone and i can bite and eat again without any trouble. My dental restoration looks amazing. I am very happy with his work and i would recommend any one to Alegria Dental Center.

Helped me a lot. Really thankful, took away my pain and did a great job on my teeth  whitening ! I had a really yellow colored teeth and it whitened more than 5 times !!! They do all my family teeth ! Everybody’s happy. Recommend.
