Having a partial denture, I cared less about my teeth until I noticed some bleeding when I brush. Besides I don’t have insurance & I know it’s gonna be expensive. When I heard about UCSF Dentistry, I made an appointment & Dr. Cuong Ho, a senior student was assigned to me- he didn’t even want to be called Doc since he was a student then, but I’ve always called him that way. I was too embarassed but he made me feel comfortable & kept me positive. He made a full evaluation & performed deep cleaning. His mentors has high praises for his work. It’s not a surprise, I actually feel the attention he gives to each tooth during the whole process yet unbelievably careful- he doesn’t even have to try , he’s got “light hands”. When he graduated, I was assigned to at least 2 more students but the experience w/ Dr. Ho is not like any other. He would explain things & even tell you more. Communication is great! Patient care..guaranteed! After a year of dental “abstinence”, I’m finally back! Good thing I kept a special number so I was able to track him down. Cuong Ho, DDS is now with All Smiles Dental (415-564-2200). YES!!! I got my dentist back! This time he “upgraded” my denture (w/o squeezing my wallet empty:). That’s a new thing I learned about, he is considerate- has BIG heart. He also said we all have different teeth. Well, he’s right! My teeth may not be perfect, but NOW I have a bigger & a whole lot better SMILE:) …inside & out. God bless Dr. Ho. Anybody would like to be treated well. A visit to Dr. Ho’s clinic will give you that experience & I’m sure you’ll keep coming back…just like I did.

What a beautiful office and terrific dentist! Dr Ho is an exceptional dentist that truly cares, is smart and highly skilled. He took me in quickly for an emergency and made sure the repair was perfect. Really enjoyed watching music videos while I waited for the numbing to work. Best dentist I have ever had and really appreciate his excellent customer service. Called me the next day to make sure my tooth was ok!! What doctor does that now? Dr. Ho!!

My wife and I are from the Midwest, and we were in San Francisco for treatment at the UCSF Medical Center. During our three week stay, my wife visited Dr. Ho’s office for a standard check up and cleaning. She came back very happy with Dr. Ho and his staff. A few days later I had a veneer crack in half. On my wife’s recommendation, I contacted Dr. Ho’s office and they fit me in that same day. Dr. Ho quickly and professionally repaired the tooth. He then proceeded to generously reduce the cost for the repair by nearly two-thirds of the agreed upon quote. I was more than surprised by his act of kindness. Dr. Ho knew that I live 2,000 miles away so there was no prospect of my becoming a regular patient. I think he simply felt that it was the right thing to do, which speaks volumes. The next day he text-messaged me to make sure there were no issues, which there were not. He didn’t have to take these extra steps. But he did. Thank you Dr. Ho for taking care of my urgent dental need, and for your professionalism and generosity!

Dr. Cuong Ho was recommended to me 5/2010.   I was very hesitant to switch because I had my other dentist for a long long  time.  As I aged, it is essential that I have my dental work done near where I live, so I scheduled a very simple filling to try out…..and I was impressed. Dr. Cuong Ho has my highest rating for skill and personality.   My front teeth are now straight and beautiful after his work …..all done with his excellent skill and gentle hand.    Most important,  Dr. Ho is a  very kind, patient and sincere person, very dedicated  and accommodating….I feel I was going to a trusted friend for treatment. He is my only dentist now, and I  trust the  well being of my teeth only to him.

High my name is George, and I have nothing but praise for Dr. Ho, and his staff. I have been to a number of dentist in my 53 years, but all smiles is by far the best all around experience. Not only is Dr. Ho kind and gentle, but his staff is top notch as well! There are two things that really bother me about most dentist that I have encountered now a-days, one is  a dentist with a heavy hand, and the other is dentists that try the hard sell approach of you need this and you need that, other wise if you don’t do it you’ll be in big trouble. The truth is that these types of dentist don’t give a hoot about your overall well being. Their biggest concerns are how much money they can get out of every patient that they can reel in. This is absolutely not the case with Dr. Ho. He holds himself to a very high standard of ethics, and doe’s quality work every time. I would be happy to refer any family member or friend to all smiles!

We had taken my cousin here after a horrible experience at Gentle Dental. Dr. Ho was more than glad to do what is needed for my cousin. My first thought of the office was that it was very organized and gave us a welcoming feeling. The place was clean and the furniture and equipment were up to date, unlike other places that were visited. Dr. Ho is very compassionate and caring towards his clients. He makes sure they are as comfortable as possible in his office. Since it was my cousin’s first time at the dentist, he was very nervous. Dr. Ho soothed and made sure he was comfortable. During the session, he told my cousin about what he was going to do every step of the way. My cousin said that it made things MUCH better. The service was great and we are glad that we had found All Smiles and Dr. Ho! I highly recommend you to come to All Smiles if you want a quick and gentle session!

I came across Dr. Ho’s dental office while I was on a frantic emergency search for a dentist available on a random Sunday morning (my dentist is not open on the weekends). He saw me right away that same morning, and after seeing my pain he made time for me within that afternoon to have my root canal treatment. I was so thankful to Dr Ho for having taken my pain away in just a couple hours. Needless to say, Dr Ho has become my dentist now. I’ve always been very afraid of dental work, but Dr Ho is super gentle with his tools, definitely helped put me at ease! Dr Ho is probably the most available and accommodating dentist I could find to work around my crazy schedules. He is so willing to find a time slot that works for me, no matter whether it’s on the weekend or sometimes even on the holidays! He is so hard working and dedicated to his patients, that’s impressive! I would strongly recommend Dr Ho to anyone who wants a caring dentist who truly thinks of your well being!

I went to All Smiles Dental to get my wisdom tooth extracted and I was very impressed by the staffs friendly yet professional approach. Dr. Ho was awesome, he was patient and caring which set me up to be relaxed during the process. Gladly I did not feel any pain during the extraction and overall I was satisfied with their services. I had the pleasure of meeting the front desk receptionist, she was very caring, informative, and gave a lot of great advice. They were willing to work with me even though I didn’t have insurance. I give them 5 stars for their quality customer service. I’ll definitely be looking forward to going back for my next check in. -Highly recommended!!

I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ho to anyone in SF.  He’s a fantastic dentist – extremely personable, accommodating, thorough, and caring.  He not only came in on a day that he was scheduled to be off to see me, but he patiently spent over 3 hours for procedures on me that many other dentists would have asked to schedule over 2 or 3 appointments. He was very thorough in his work and explained most steps along the way for me.  However, I was most appreciative of all the small things for me – he would constantly make sure that I was doing ok, make sure that my lips weren’t getting dry, applying generous amounts of topical lidocaine when necessary, and he even flossed for me! The icing on the cake was receiving a Sonicare electric toothbrush from him – not sure if he’ll always be able to give these out, but it was much appreciated. He also took about 10 minutes at the end of my visit to teach me how to properly brush my teeth using this new brush.  Finally, what really separates Dr. Ho from most other dentists I’ve had in the past, was that he personally called me about 3-4 hours after my appointment to make sure I was feeling ok. If you’re looking for a dentist, look no further.  If nothing else, his office is in a great location down in West Portal with a bunch of great shops, cafes, bakeries etc. –  great street to walk down.

My experience with Dr. Ho has been phenomenal – so much so that I am writing my first review. I found Dr. Ho through yelp and decided to give it a shot – best decision ever made. Dr. Ho was extremely pleasant and was extremely flexible with the timing of my appointment, despite it being close to the holidays. When I arrived, Dr. Ho took time to explain each procedure that he was doing. He answered every single one of my questions, often with diagrams and examples. He also took took digital photos in addition to the x-rays to walk me through the healthiness of my teeth. Dr Ho also is very gentle, as after a few procedures I have yet to feel any pain. He is also very considerate, often asking how I was doing and if I have any other questions. Furthermore, Dr. Ho and his assistant went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. When he discovered that I had parked in the metered space, he asked his assistance to refill the meter. When our original procedure went over the estimated time (mostly because Dr. Ho was so thorough and diligent in his work), he asked her once more to refill the meter. This type of courteous service was a pleasant surprise, and I was extremely impressed with Dr. Ho and his staff. Finally, Dr. Ho is very understanding of his patient’s monetary concerns. He worked with me to plan and budget procedures based upon my dental insurance maximum, and even offered a partial payment plan for the excess. Overall, Dr. Ho is geuninely interested in the well-being of his patients, and I am extremely grateful to have found him. I highly recommend him for any dental work that you all may need!

Doctor Ho. was very courteous and polite. My main concern walking into this facility was how much $$$ was it going to cost me since i am uninsured. First things first we got my x-rays taken. Quite a bit showed up that needed to be done. At this point I’m thinking to myself there is no way that I am going to be able to afford this. We discussed my interest in getting dental work done but not really knowing how to pay for it all at once.  He refers me to his secretary Claudia, which by the way she awesome. She helped  me out tremendously by putting a dental payment plan together that i was comfortable with. This man really loves to help his patients out and you could tell. Sure enough the next week I’m in the chair getting worked on. Very gentle hands and 100% comfortable and with some side conversation that makes you feel at home. The following morning I get a text, not by his secretary, not by his assistant, but by Dr. Ho himself asking me how I was feeling. Who does that? This type of service is rare and very genuine if you ask me. This man is awesome I will definitely recommend him to all my friends and family.

I had to get some emergency dental work done prior to a trip overseas. Came across Dr Ho on yelp and had what turned out to be one of the best interactions with a dentist to memory.  Not having insurance, he was very helpful and charged a reduced cash price as the yelp deal had expired (last year).  That tooth was only the tip of the iceberg of things I needed taken care of.  Not having dental insurance for many years has left my teeth quite neglected and ultimately sporting a closed lipped smile. Once I got dental insurance, the first thing I did was call Dr. Ho and schedule an appointment.  After a full inspection, he outlined everything that needed to be done, daunting. He went through tooth by tooth and prioritized within my budget. I did 5 sessions to get caught up on the 15 years of neglect and touched on about 80% of my teeth in some way or another.  The only difficult thing walking away from his office has been learning to smile again.  I recommend him to anyone I hear in need of dental work.  He is very helpful, and i appreciated the way he outlines and prioritizes what he feels you need done, then walks through it all with you to form a game plan.  I am grateful to have met Dr Ho.

This review comes from someone who is super picky.  My previous dentist was not thorough and left me with the impression that all he wanted was to cash in on my insurance coverage with unnecessary fluff — he didn’t even do my teeth cleaning when he was supposed to because he wanted to have me pay for services I didn’t need in order to get my cleaning.  That was May 09, and I did not ever go back. Fast forward two years, I found Dr. Ho on yelp through a yahoo search for metlife dentists near my zip code.  I saw his reviews, called and spoke to a very accomodating receptionist and boom, my partner and I were scheduled for the next day.  OMG, right!? Turns out, Dr. Ho IS a really great dentist.  I felt totally comfortable, he’s intuitive with your comfort needs and very easy with his approach.  My teeth are super smooth and shiny and my partner and I will definitely be coming back to Dr. Ho.  Dr. Ho did not diagnose me with what the previous dentist near Lucky’s on Sloat diagnosed for me.  I suspected I didn’t need it, and as time has told me, that other dentist was trying to wring out my insurance for what he could get on things I didn’t need. Wish I could double this review because we both left with a feeling of contentment from a great dentist who is effective, gentle and professional.  I’m confident I’ll be happy with my next visit, too.  Thanks Dr. Ho!

Wow, what a great experience. Dr. Ho was easily the best dentist I’ve ever been to! A large temporary filling I had from a tooth that had a root canal broke off, basically leaving the backside of my back molar exposed. After not getting any help from the many dentists I called, I took to Yelp and stumbled up on All Smiles Dental and called as soon as I woke up the next morning. I was able to get in within an hour of calling and I met Dr. Ho, who was literally all smiles and a super nice guy. After explaining the situation and that I needed the prep for a crown, Dr. Ho laid out everything that needed to be done and how much it was, what insurance covered, and answered any question I had. His patience and transparency with everything made me more comfortable than I’d ever been at a dentist, even before any work was done. After getting the tooth fixed and sealed for the temporary crown, Dr. Ho let me take a break for a few minutes to stretch my legs and whatnot before he got back to work. The temporary crown fit perfectly and wasn’t sharp at all against my mouth, which is more than I can say for my previous experience at another dentist, so that was a major plus. Dr. Ho even followed up with me later that day to see how my tooth was doing. Although the office takes a while to get to from where I live in the city, there’s no way I’ll go to another dentist again. I’m glad all of the other dentists I called prior couldn’t take me in, as I found my new go-to dentist from that.

If you are looking for a new dentist, you do not need to look any further.  Dr. Ho is the best there is.  Seriously, I, like other reviewers, would give him 10 stars if Yelp would let me.  Here are three reasons why: 1) To quote Dr. Ho, “I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if I didn’t treat my patients like I would want to be treated.”  This really sums up Dr. Ho’s ethics.  He will only perform dental work that is necessary and never tell you that you need expensive and/or unnecessary procedures or products.  This alone is reason enough for a 5 star rating. 2) Pain-free fillings.  Dr. Ho filled my 4 cavities in about an hour on a Saturday afternoon.  I was expecting to have lots of pain once the anesthetic wore off, but instead, I felt NOTHING.  No tooth pain whatsoever!  I am not exaggerating.  I could not believe it.  Dr. Ho has the magic touch. 3) Availability and Friendliness.  Everyone in the office is very courteous and they go out of their way for their patients.  The office is even open on Saturdays!  I’ve always been able to get an appointment quickly and am treated like an old friend by everyone.  I never thought that I would ever look forward to going to the dentist until I started coming to All Smiles.  I could go on and on about how amazed I am with All Smiles Dental.  Instead, I’ll end it with this: If you’re reading through Yelp trying to find a new dentist in SF, then stop looking now and call Dr. Ho.  You will not regret it! (P.S. He also has an office in San Mateo for those of you on the Peninsula.).

We have been going to see Dr. Ho for more than 6 years.  He’s is what we like to call “Our family dentist.”  As always I like the cleaning service Dr. Ho did on my teeth.  He is good and thorough.  He prep our lips with vaseline so that it’s not dry during cleaning procedure.  I like the fact that he gives attention to each customers.  Even though he has an dental hygienist, he always makes sure he is the one rinsing your teeth and draining fluids.  He is so dedicated and work hard that he even schedule our next appointment from the dentist chair on his advanced technological computer that shows your treatment, X-ray and picture of your teeth.  His office is always busy and he works long hours and sometimes seven days.  He is the main doctor and sometimes have specialists come in such as for root canal which is good for patients as they don’t have to travel to another dentist office for the treatment.  I am glad I found him and my family will always stay with him.  I even have my parents come to him for treatment and he provided discount when they don’t have insurance.

What a find for an emergency appointment.  My mother had some pain in her tooth and was concerned she may have cracked it.  On a Sunday morning, our options were limited especially as visitors from out of town.  Dr. Ho offered an appointment after hours as an emergency to see my mother and do a quick exam for her.  What was even more impressive was that they even called her in earlier because they had an opening, and the team there was incredibly kind. In particular, Dr. Ho was patient, kind and thoughtful in providing advice for my mother.   Even though we opted to hold off on any substantive procedure until she returns home – he gave fair, thoughtful and kind insights on what were her options with no pressure.  He pulled me aside and said should my mother need anything else, to phone him at any time.  What truly was impressive was that he even texted my phone to ask is my mother doing okay – the day after the appointment.  Who does that?  Dr. Ho does and for that I am grateful.  Ironically, I used to live right down the street year ago and regretfully did not have him for a dentist!  :-). Thanks Dr. Ho and to your team.

I have been to many dentists in both California and Texas but clearly Dr. Ho is the best dentist in town.  Most people rate dentists on two criteria: were they nice and did I feel any pain. This, of course, is insufficient because it doesn’t say anything about how good a dentist is.  Here is my set of criteria, and how I’d rank this place: 1. Finding cavities: Dr. Ho is excellent and very thorough in this metric. He found a bunch of cavities under my fillings that my former dentist missed, and he even went so far as to flag tooth areas that are weaker to watch them closely for potential future cavities. 2. Fillings/bridges/crowns: I got great fillings and molar crowns from here, and the shade is closely resembling my real teeth, so I give 5 stars for fillings and crowns. 3. Honesty:  occasionally dentists have a conflict of interest between finding cavities and filling them, and you’d need a second opinion to really know what work need to be done.  Dr. Ho went beyond to show me the cavities, take pictures where they’re drilling, etc, so that I can be part of the process and see for myself. Secondly, on some occasions I was debating whether to fill the cavities, with Dr. Ho saying “it doesn’t need to be drilled/filled yet” and me saying “why wait.”  Dr. Ho is not at all “trigger happy” and that’s the kind of a dentist you want. 5. Technology: this office has the latest and greatest technology when it comes to their dental equipment and making your visit pleasant. 4. Price: Dr. Ho is always nice to offer discounts and gifts in addition to setting low price for his services.  You won’t find any other dentists in the area that can compete with Dr. Ho in terms of low price. 5. Services:  Not only Dr. Ho offered variety of services that fit your needs, he has other dental specialists working with him to provide special services. 6. Front Office:  This is a plus.  I find the Front Office to be very friendly that makes the appointment less of an ordeal. So there you have it. Of course, Dr. Ho is a nice guy and he does give you the injection so you don’t feel pain, but that shouldn’t be why you pay this office a visit.

I started to experience intense pain in my tooth during work. That same night I couldn’t sleep because the pain had gotten so strong. I called Dr. Ho’s office for the first time and left a message because the office had closed already. Dr. Ho still called me back from his personal cell within an hour and the next morning took my X-Rays immediately without an appointment. He got my wisdom tooth out in a matter of minutes as painless as possible. Dr. Ho is extremely caring and makes himself very available to his patients. Highly recommend his practice and will definitely be returning for any dental needs. Thank you Dr. Ho!

I have been putting off seeing a dentist the last few years because a few previous bad experiences. I went to Dr. Ho for the first time 2 weeks ago and am really glad I choose him!! I had a badly cracked tooth that he was able to save and the whole process was quick and painless. Overall, I found Dr. Ho to have a very nice temperament, honest (was able to save money by giving me a crown instead of a bridge), gentle, skilled, and very concerned about making the patient as comfortable and relaxed as possible. I will go to him for all my dental needs for now on and I highly recommend him!

If you are unhappy with your current dentist or want to go to a place that is open conveniently during the weekend, look no further. Dr Cuong Ho is as good as it gets! He’s super friendly, caring and makes visits pleasant. Whether you want a cleaning, are interested in invisalign, or need some specific teeth work done, you should come here. He makes you feel very comfortable, explains what the procedure will be, you’re welcome to ask any questions and he follows up to make sure everything is going as it should. After my first experience here, I’ve recommended my entire family to stop going where they used to and come see Dr. Ho instead. He’s very reasonable. He will work with you and/or your insurance plan to make treatments affordable. Don’t just take my word on him, give him a call. You won’t regret it!

Since the coronavirus appeared I had been more careful than most people since I had checked with a retired virologist and a retired doctor concerning all my underlying health problems and how susceptible I might be re. the virus. They confirmed that I was highly at risk and would have no possibility of survival. That was the conclusion I had also reached. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately I had arrived at the point where I had excruciating pain on both sides of my mouth. After an unsatisfactory phone call to my previous doctor, I wet to Yelp and found Dr.Ho, the reviews were impressive and I soon found out why, I phoned and was able to see the doc 40 minutes later that afternoon. I got there , had my temperature checked filled out some paperwork and I was then xrayed. We discussed saving the tooth but I wanted it extracted. One thing that struck me was that the exam room had an open window to the outside, and that was important for me since I had avoided indoor spaces. He gave me an appointment for the next morning and after he spent 20 minutes cleaning the room, he did the job without causing me any pain, That evening he texted to see how I was, and the next day I received a message to return in a week so he can see how I am, and to check the other side of my mouth. I cannot think f a single thing that I experienced that wasn’t perfect. Needless to say, I now have a new dentist.

Dr. Ho is an amazing dentist! Last night, I cracked a tooth while eating (which compounded some issues I’ve already had.) After calling emergency dentists and not receiving replies/hearing they weren’t able to take emergency appointments today (because hey, that’s really professional), I found the clinic on Yelp. Called the number, had my info forwarded to Dr. Ho, received a call within ten minutes. After discussing it and sending pictures of the damage, I had an appointment made for an hour later. I got in, and after a bit of a wait, he finished up with the other patient and did my x-rays and discussed options with me. I ended up going for a filling as a temporary fix until I’m able to come back and potentially get an implant, but even the filling is good for now. He was able to do it without having to numb the area (which is probably 75% of the reason why I fear the dentist, those needles are horrible) and had it filled and looking great within an hour. Best part is? It’s super affordable, even (or especially) on a broke college student’s budget. To put it in perspective–I paid less for the x-rays, exam, and the filling than I did for a deep-cleaning at Western Dental. He’s very polite and friendly, and I’m sure I’ll be going back.

This may be hard to believe but my husband and I are from Portland, Oregon and we drive all the way down to San Francisco to have our dental visits with Dr. Cuong Ho. Once you give Dr. Ho a try you will be hooked to him and wouldn’t want anyone else touching your teeth. He is the best dentist I have ever been to! I have been lucky to have good dentists in the past but I have to say that Dr. Ho out beats them all with his service and caring. He really cares for his patients and have a gentle hand. Not only is he a good dentist but you can tell he is a good person at heart (which is probably why he’s such a good dentist!). He is a dentist which you can trust and feel at ease with. Too bad he is not located in Oregon! But for us it’s worth the long drive since we know we will be in good hands with our teeth. Plus we get to have a weekend in San Francisco as well!

Dr. Ho, his office and his entire team are ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! After a weekend of suffering from tooth pain (and a resulting massive headache) earlier this month, I ran across this office on Yelp during a search for a dentist office. I called Dr. Ho first thing Monday morning and informed him of my situation and the pain I was experiencing; I was in his office in less than an hour per his request! He checked out my tooth and set me up with an appointment to perform the necessary procedure a few days later! The endodontist (Dr. Lee?) that performed my root canal was so awesome and reassuring! He explained his way through everything, was very gentle and super patient and understanding with me. He literally restored my faith in dentistry and helped me to put aside the new fear I’d obtained of dental procedures that day! (I used to love the dentist, but ended up having an unnecessarily extensive, painful, and VERY traumatic experience at another office in my old hometown that ruined that sentiment!) When I returned to the office for my crown to be placed on the tooth by Dr. Ho the next week, Dr. Ho did me the favor of checking out another tooth I was experiencing some sensitivity with once he finished. That tooth had a crown on it that was placed by a former dentist a year and a half ago. It only took him a few short minutes to fix the issue! Since then, I have had SUCH ease eating and drinking on that side! Needless to say, this dentist office is top notch and I’m making it my home office! The staff is super sweet and accommodating. Dr. Ho truly listens to his patients and is always great at following up on how you’re doing post-procedure! Love this office and my new dentist!  Thank you so much, Dr. Ho!!!

This is my first yelp review.  I’m in my 50s and even though I have dental insurance I hadn’t been to a dentist in 5 years.  My teeth are good in the front but in the back I had all kinds of problems.  I’ve been to several dentists in the city and was mostly dissatisfied with the care I was getting – mostly from all the pain. I finally had to go to a dentist last year because I had a tooth that was throbbing in pain, so I looked online for a dentist in the city that worked on Saturdays.  When I found Dr. Ho’s Web site I saw all the positive reviews and said to myself that he must be one great dentist – and I found out that he is!  I made my first appointment on line and he saw me right away because I was in so much pain. Dr. Ho is up on all the latest techniques, has all the latest equipment, has a great staff, and he’s the first virtually painless dentist I have ever been to.  Within the last year he has done an extraction, a double bridge, a root canal, a crown, a cleaning, and fillings.  My teeth feel great again. Dr. Ho will tell you what he’s about to do each step of the way and he will go into greater detail if you want.  I’m so glad that I found Dr. Ho! If you are like me and have avoided going to the dentist because of all the pain and trouble, then you should do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Dr. Ho.  He has a great chairside manner and sometimes I’m so relaxed I nearly fall asleep.  Now that is a great dentist!

I had visited Dr Ho recently – a week ago to get my wisdom tooth extracted. I had terrible pain because of it. But D.r Ho had fantastically done this job. He took great care in treating me, also he was in touch with me even after the extraction to know about my condition. His regular advice – even after the extraction helped me recover soon. His staff  is also very friendly and takes good care. I was in very bad shape that week end cause of my wisdom tooth. Other Dr in the city were not even ready to see me. I some how found Dr. Ho on yelp and called him and explained my situation. He was kind enough to hear my plight and agreed to see me in such short notice. And also treat me on the very next day. I would definitely recommend Dr. Ho in case of any oral condition. He and his staff are really professional and do take good care of their patients.

I woke up this past Saturday with a fever and a mighty tooth ache.  My regular dentist’s office was closed for the weekend, so I took to yelp and found Dr. Ho.  I gave his office a call and he made room to see me two hours later.  He ended up extracting two wisdom teeth and I was on my way to recover at home in less than an hour.  His office is clean and professional and he is sincerely kind and skilled at his craft.  Here’s the kicker, he texted me to check in about how I was doing later on Saturday and then again on Sunday morning and evening.  It was so refreshing to get that level of care and follow-through.  Dr. Ho truly went above and beyond during what was, for me, a bit of a dental emergency.  5 stars and a debt of gratitude!

I had a minor dental emergency just a few days after moving to the bay area from the east coast… not sure where to turn, I found Dr. Ho from the reviews on here, and was extremely impressed. He was wiling to squeeze me into his schedule very shortly after I first called, and took the time to talk with me at length and answer my numerous questions. He has a wonderful bedside manner — respectful, warm, knowledgeable, patient, and was able to make me feel comfortable and at-ease despite being in an anxiety-inducing situation. When it came to the actual work he did on my teeth, I was impressed with how thorough and careful he was — he spent quite a long time making sure everything was exactly right — even though I know his office was very busy that day. I was beyond happy and completely relieved with the results, and felt lucky that I happened to choose his practice. Even though I live in Oakland, I’ll definitely go back for any further dental issues or just routine visits, and would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone!

I just got my widow teeth removed, at Tuesday 10 PM, this doctor is amazing, he drove all the way back from San Jose just to see me (I said that it was an emergency and it actually as). I was in so much pain, that couldn’t sleep yesterday, I went to a regular doctor around 4 PM and he got me some antibiotics and told me that I should see a dentist right away. I’m in a visit (I’m from Argentine) so I don’t have a healthcare insurance, and the prices are great. Called the doctor, got the appointment for today, the problem is actually my two window teeth on the left side, plus I have a big infection, so he couldn’t remove the lower one because I couldn’t open the mouth, and he did a terrific job removing the top one, I didn’t feel any pain at all, with local anesthesia, I couldn’t believe it, I thought it was going to be a lot of pain because I’ve been in pain all the day and because of the infection I have. So now, I have to wait until the infection goes away, he gave me painkillers just in case, I should continue with the antibiotics, on Friday I’ll another x-ray, and on Monday I’ll get my second widow teeth removed. I just don’t know what else to write, I’ve been always scared by dentists, they usually make me to have a lot of pain, and when someone talks about how bad is to remove your widow teeth, you don’t want to know anything at all, I couldn’t believe the doctor when he said he could remove the widow teeth with the pain I had and the issue that I cannot open the mouth too much, I didn’t feel any pain, I cannot be more happier. I’m going to sleep, hopefully by tomorrow I’ll be able to get back to work, and I’ll happily wait for next Monday to get my other widow teeth removed and talk about removing the two on the right say (which based on this great great experience, I know that even if I can wait and get it done for free on Argentine, based on my Argentine health insurance, I prefer to pay and get it done by this terrific doctor), I’m so so happy 🙂 Update: The problem was actually the top left widow teeth the doctor removed, I didn’t believe him yesterday because most of my pain was on the low part of my mouth, but now I don’t have any pain at all, and he was totally right. Nevertheless I’m making appointments to get my other three widow teeth removed 🙂 Update 2: And today he just called me to ask how I was feeling… my friend next to me couldn’t believe how lucky I was to find Dr Ho.

If you’re like me then you tend to have dental emergencies at 9 PM on Saturday evenings. If that’s the case, call Dr. Ho! I had neglected a lower left molar for too long and while I should have been looking for the Heart of Saturday Night, my lower left molar tooth had other plans and decided that it wasn’t having it anymore. The tooth finally said “I’ve had enough of you.” and decided to revolt by developing an abscess. There I was with my head buried in my fiance’s lap, handfuls of ibuprofen, with awful pain and swelling, and frantically trying to get a hold of my general dentist. I was nervous and scared and really embarrassed by the fact that I had let this tooth get to this point due simply to being such a complete child about these things. Suddenly, I came across Dr. Ho, who amazingly offered to see me at 10:30 PM to do what he could for my dying tooth. Upon, arrival, he took an x-ray, calmed my nerves, showed me where my problem was and began treating the abscess to the best of his ability. After two hours, he was able to temporarily relieve the pain and offered me two future options: a root canal or an extraction. Considering I had just started antibiotics that morning, I was unable to have either procedure completed at that time, but was quickly given an appointment to come see him later that week once I had decided what to do. The whole time, Dr. Ho consistently texted me to see how I was doing,  and also offered helpful advice for me and my rebel tooth. He even had his staff call me first thing Monday morning to confirm an appointment and review my options. The only downside was that his office was booked until Wednesday. Unfortunately, the pain returned quickly and I had to have the tooth removed a day early at another dentist office. But I remain so very grateful for Dr. Ho’s services and overall professionalism. I would definitely recommend anyone with a dental emergency or looking for a general dentist to Dr. Ho.

I was never fond of the dentist and hadn’t been to one in a little over 15 years.  Over those said years I can’t say I took care of my teeth the way I should have.  This became most apparent about a year and a half ago when I had a molar that was chipping away from decay. There started to be pain and that’s when I told myself I needed to get it taken care of.  After looking around dentists I was fortunate to chose Dr. Ho at All Smiles Dental.  Very nice doctor when I met him.  After taking initial X-rays and looking them over he showed me a video about root canals. Not feeling too great about that video, I had already resigned myself to having the molar extracted.  I asked him to extract the tooth instead and he did that in the following appointment with no resentment at all.  He did lay out more dental work to be done, as I did not take very good care of my teeth, but he did mention they’re not bad for what I told him, which, didn’t make me feel too bad about it. The additional work were multiple fillings and another root anal.  To make the long story short, I bailed out and cancelled on the root canal appointment and never returned.  Fast forward to about to about the earlier half of the year that tooth that probably needed the root canal started to hurt……pretty bad.  I thought it was a one time thing but it just kept on recurring.  I figured I had no choice but to make another appointment with Dr. Ho.  I arrive, first appointment of the day and I first see Dr. Ho’s associate. New x-rays reveal that the tooth which was hurting cannot be saved.  My only options are now implant, denture, or no tooth at all. His associate recommended an implant since I’m relatively young.  I was hesitant in that I’m a heavy smoker, and was still un decided about the decision.  Dr. Ho now arrives and I can see he’s kinda upset, not so much at the fact that I flaked the other time, but for that fact that they’re unable to save the tooth. He then sets up another plan for my teeth, fillings for multiple teeth, just like last time.  This time though, I have been following through on them, and each time has been a painless experience. Except for the needle, which he says I take like a man (ha!). After 6 total visits so far(2 x-rays, 2- cleanings, 2 filling sessions for multiple teeth) I can’t say I’ve had a bad experience with Dr. Ho or his staff. His email and text reminders about upcoming appointments are perfect for me since I tend to be rather forgetful lol, and I can even say I take care of my teeth on a daily basis now.  Might not be so if I didn’t meet All Smiles Dental. I think I will get that implant done, and I know which team is going to do it for me.  Just gotta tone down them smokes.  Cheers for All Smiles Dental!

I have nothing but respect and praise for Dr. Ho. The first time I met him was for an invisalign consultation and I decided it was the right choice for me over traditional braces. Dr. Ho was always very friendly and took his time to make sure all the impressions were done right for the aligners and retainers. I liked him so much it didn’t take long for me to switch from my regular dentist to him. For my dental cleanings, he was gentle but very thorough. I told the rest of my family they really should see him and they have all been just as impressed. I love how easy it is to make an appointment that will fit your busy schedule and how welcome everyone at All Smiles makes you feel. I moved away from the Bay Area so I really do miss Dr. Ho. I know he’s a wonderful dentist and person because he’s always responsive when I contact him about something; whether it’s about an electric toothbrush, retainers or wisdom tooth extractions, he genuinely cares about his patients. If you are on the fence about making an appointment, there is nothing to worry about. It’s in a great location and you will be in excellent hands. I wish Dr. Ho continued success.

Reviewing someone on talent alone, I would say Dr. Ho is an amazing dentist.  I have been to many dentists that tear up your gums and make you extremely anxious just over a normal teeth cleaning b/c they care nothing about patient care. Dr. Ho conducts patient-centered cleanings, checking in about pain sensitivity, etc.  It didn’t even seem like he was touching my teeth at all throughout the cleaning!   He is very friendly and has been post-graduate for several years. As always, I explore both pros and challenges of a business.  Being that he is a one-man team, the appts get packed!  They were running behind schedule, and asked me to come  in later.  Unfortunately, hubby had to go to work and use the car so I could not.  They ended up re-scheduling another willing patient.  He was not at all perturbed, noting that Dr. Ho has treated him well.  I opted not to buy dental insurance, as I only need routine cleanings, and the cleaning/x-rays were quite pricey as compared to other dentists.  It would be nice to have an assistant to hold the water and suction tools b/c some water kept spraying on my face as he did his magic. Alas, minor prices to pay for quality dental service, particularly for Yelpers/patients who may have heightened anxiety going to the dentist.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Ho and his staff. I had a cracked tooth and was in some pretty serious pain. I initially made my appointment for 4:30 PM. I woke up that morning with my mouth on fire and called his office to see if I could be seen earlier. The receptionist told me should would call me back in 5 minutes and let me know. 2 minutes later, my cell phone rang and it was Dr. Ho. He was on his way to the office. He told me to come in right away, which I did and he saw me immediately. He addressed the issue, he explained all the fees, knocked $100 of my bill and gave me an additional discount because I did not have insurance. He even texted me later in the day to see how I was feeling. When I told him I was still feeling some discomfort he told me to come in again for a filling adjustment. He literally waited at his office until 6:45 on a Friday evening for me. The next morning I woke up and the pain was gone. I have never even even written a review on Yelp before, but I felt the care I received from Dr. Ho warranted it. I have never been a fan of going to the dentist, but Dr. Ho made me feel a 100% comfortable and I feel that I have found my dentist for life.
