When I moved back from college, I started seeing Alvin…that was in 2003. Cut to me still seeing him after 14 years. By far the best dentist I’ve had. Just incredibly personable, honest and just down right nice. He’s revitalized a building in Kaimuki and built his new office in the back. It’s super cool! Love the modern feel.

Dr. Alvin Chung is the only dentist I trust with my teeth. He and his staff are always friendly and take the time to make me feel comfortable. Dr. Chung always explains the assessment of my teeth and the appropriate treatment. His new office is beautiful and has lots of parking. The bathroom is fabulously chic! Whenever people compliment my teeth. I tell them to see Dr. Alvin Chung.

Little known fact, but upon moving here in 2006 in the middle of college and staying, I somehow managed to remain your typical New Yorker who doesn’t get something checked until it’s a problem. You could also say I’m terrible at adulting. I turned 29 last month and suddenly found a bleeding gum & pain. I then realized I hadn’t seen a dentist in over 10 years. Whoopsie daisy! My coworker recommended this place to me. It’s located on Waialae Avenue behind Kaimuki Superette & the ballet studio in a renovated area. You walk into a beautiful glass wall lobby where the friendly receptionist checks you in. She seems to be the only one and was who I spoke with on the phone. They were excellent about taking new patients. I filled out minimal paperwork and they escorted me in quickly. Kristy, one of the assistants, gave me a few different x-rays; I’m not sure if I just don’t know the current machines but it was fast, easy and seemed to be the most up to date technology. My results showed up on a computer where she explained what was going on. Before we started my cleaning, she set me up with headphones and a flat screen that was above the chair so I could watch a Netflix show during the procedure. I felt so fancy! She did a great and quick job; Dr. Chung came in shortly after to look at my mouth and confirm her findings. I was impressed at the training of his staff and the trust within the team. He was friendly and explained in relatable terms what was coming up next for my mouth. I got my baggy of teeth brushing goods as they always give and I was on my way. Fast, friendly, professional, clean – this place is on point for a dentists office. I felt cared about and never once felt concerned or uncomfortable. It might be the fact that I’ve only been to kid friendly offices with games in the waiting room & treats when I leave but I was impressed with my entire experience here and highly recommend coming here. I’m not even scared to do my wisdom teeth! That’s some pros. Just saying.

I am 100% fearful of dentists and/or having dental work done. Dr. Chung and staff are VERY understanding and patient with people like myself. I had dental cleaning which went alright but most times in the past I would freak out before my appointment but today I was a little nervous but fine. I think the comfort level I feel here is higher than previous offices I’ve visited. Allie did my cleaning today and she was kind, and understanding to my fears and concerns. She helped me get through today’s cleaning with much patience and professionalism. Don’t get me wrong, I will always be dentaphobic but I think at Dr. Chung’s office I will be a little bit more at ease. They validate and parking is easy and convenient down below. The parking elevator takes you right onto your floor. So far it’s been pleasant experiences for the two visits I’ve had. 🙂 In fact, the previous Yelp reviews led me to come see Dr. A. Chung! Way to go YELP!!!

The best cosmetic dentist! I’ve been going to him for a while. Although I originally had my work done elsewhere, he maintains and refreshes mines as needed. I’ve had a couple veneers that decided to come off. He created a new, natural looking one is less than a week. Honestly when I first got them 15 yrs ago it took over a period of a couple months to get them done. Also does regular dentistry (cleanings, fillings etc)

I recently started “Loving Yelping”, went to see Dr. Alvin; and couldn’t believe he wasn’t on YELP. His practice area includes, preventitive, cosmetic and Britesmile associated Dentistry. Dr. Alvin and staff have been taking care of my pearly whites for hmmm, 6 years plus. Beautiful office with easy validated parking in 3660 building on Waialae. From cleaning to other dental problems, see Dr. Alvin and staff, who are the best. We were talking about yelp and some different eating places, told him I couldn’t find his yelp profile. Very friendly staff. Much friendlier than at my last dentist. They were able to accommodate my schedule with no hassle. He’s worked on tons of famous people and his office is scattered with their signed photographs thanking him. Lots of impressive smiles! The office is very clean & contemporary. He also has this huge tooth light (look under photos) that is lit white, unless he puts in a red bulb and then it’s toothache. Priceless.

Truth be told…..going to the dentist is not one of my favorite things to do mainly because I’m a big chicken. But Dr. Chung and his team are FANTASTIC and definitely make every visit as pleasant, smooth and comfortable as possible. Everyone on staff offers a high level of customer service from the moment you call Lisa to make an appointment and as you walk in the door for services, the team is on it!! Christy is my hygienist and the best! She’s fast, thorough and super sweet. Dr. Chung is always very nice and genuinely cares for his clients. He patiently explains what’s going on with your teeth and if needed, calms my nerves (again, cause I’m a big chicken). If you happen to need some work done, his office is equipped with TV and headsets so you can distract yourself and not panic (oops, that just might be me). And his team is very caring and aware, making sure you’re comfortable and explaining every step along the way. His office has moved — its off Waialae avenue, in a private, yet cool and trendy spot in Kaimuki.

I bit into a piece of hard candy and my 15-year old crown fell out. After some frantic calls, I reached the friendly staff at Dr. Chung’s who was referred by a friend. They accommodated me within the hour. Alvin and his staff were great  – put in a temporary fix and next week I’ll get a new porcelain crown. I’m going back for more for sure.
