I wish there were more dentists like Dr. Hodson around. I had been avoiding the dentist for about 2 years because of continuous bad experiences and being cheated out of money. Right before I found Dr. Hodson, I had gone to Claremont Modern Dentistry and they told me I needed multiple root canals, several crowns, and 6-8 of my fillings needed replacement. Oh and braces. I was referred to an orthodontist because apparently I suddenly developed severe TMJ…No. My husband found Dr. Hodson after hours of searching online, I wish there were more reviews on here for him. First off, his staff has been with him for YEARS, which says a lot about how he manages people who work for him. They are sweet and caring. When I went in for my first consult, I took xrays with me that were taken two weeks before by Claremont Modern Dentistry and Dr. Hodson didn’t push me to take more xrays. He then kept examining my teeth and said I don’t NEED braces (can get them if I want to for appearance), he also told me I only have one shallow filling that will only take a few minutes to fix, and that one tooth was cracked and I needed a crown. No root canals, no filling replacements, none of that other BS I was told at Claremont MD. So I booked my next appointment. Upon my arrival for my crown and such, his wife and assistant knew that I would be a nervous patient, they brought me a blanket and they brought their two adorable labs as therapy animals. They were so comforting and the office has such a warm environment. Dr. Hodson himself does excellent quality work. I had my crown done, filling done, even went back to have my crown leveled off a few days later and everything was fine. My experience here has definitely made me have a more positive perspective about dentists. All I can say is, don’t go to corporate dentists. They are just working on commission and don’t really care about the patients themselves. Hope this review helps. Dr. Hodson is awesome.

I avoided going to a dentist for years and expected to be lectured. I had actually been to Dr. Hodson years before, but with my dental insurance, was trying to find a dentist to take my current plan. I was so pleased when I learned that I could use my plan at this office. They never once scolded me! I was told what was needed, explained all procedures, assured I was not hopeless! Most of all, I never felt I was being recommended dental work that was excessive or unnecessary, which had been my experience with other insurance approved dental offices. I know selecting a dentist is a very personal decision, but IMHO Dr. Hodson and his staff are fantastic.

I was terrified of the dentist for years until I came to Dr. Hodson’s office. He has a gentle hand and is exceptional in what he does. Saying his staff is amazing is an understatement, Suzanne and Ana were wonderful and caring. They reassured and told me what was being done every step of the way which was very comforting. Dr. Hodson is AMAZING! Five stars are not enough for this dentist. He is honest and is very gentle and great at what he does. I cannot tell you how many dentist have tried to gouge me for unnecessary treatment but never dr. Hodson. I could not recommend a better dentist. My whole family goes to him because he is so good. Give him a shot and he will be your dentist for life!

I’m a new patient and have gotten nothing but the best from all the staff. They always call to remind you of appointments and text you. They’re always nice. They make you feel comfortable. There’s never a long wait. You are in and out in a timely manner. Dr. Hodson takes his time with his patients. He explains everything. He is very nice and gives you information on the best treatment. I came in on the wrong appt time. I thought it was at 11:30 but it was at 2. They still seen me. They really care about your care. They make sure you’re comfortable and feeling good about everything.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Hodson for an exam and cleaning. First of all, Troy made my day. Troy is a therapy dog, he is a very good boy and he came to sniff me and he let me pet him. I had originally gotten an exam at another dental office where they had quoted me $1200 for a deep cleaning and 3-4 fillings — and I knew I needed a second opinion. Luckily, my coworker recommended Dr. Hodson. After my exam, he told me I had no cavities, my teeth were in good shape and all I needed was a regular cleaning. I really appreciated his manner, and his no-nonsense approach. The cleaning went smoothly, the hygienist was great, she chatted throughout the cleaning and I felt comfortable throughout. She also has a wall full of framed paintings of dogs. Big thumbs up for that. Did I already mention Troy? He’s great. He’s a good boy. He’s the best.

I am the biggest chicken on the face of the earth when it comes to dental work and as a result didn’t go as often as I should. I needed A LOT of work when I came to see Dr Hodson. I’ve had 4 root canals (and several fillings) at Dr Hodsons office and I can say I wasn’t thrilled about returning for the next one but wasn’t scared. I never felt anything during any of the procedures. Everyone is wonderful at the office. The office is impeccably clean all the time. Dr Hodson is very confident and that’s what makes me feel comfortable.
