I was looking for an in-network, Black dentist in Brooklyn and after many hours of research and reviews but couldn’t find one. Then, I found Dr. Omar Armstrong in Manhattan. When I got to the office, I didn’t finish filling out my forms because I saw them late and I thought that the ones I filled out on Zocdoc were applicable. Kadijah, one of the receptionists, was very friendly and told me that I could take my time and finish them and tell her when I’m done. When I was finished, it took no more than 10 minutes for Jasmine to take my x-rays and she was very professional and explained everything that she was doing. Then the hygienist, Keyla, was super nice and gentle. After Gloria who was assisting her, was finished entering the numbers in the computer, she explained what the numbers meant and the possible care I would need. Then came Dr. Omar Armstrong! Such a nice man with good bedside manners. He explained everything to me and which was most “urgent” and wanted to know if I had any concerns. Omar the other receptionist explained to me the course of dental work I needed and the possible costs. This office is DRIPPING! in very warm, friendly, nice, professional people. I’ve never been to a doctor’s office and the wait was so short. Except for PT because we all have an hour session. I didn’t even feel like I was at a dentist office. If you are looking for a great Dental experience. Look no further than Armstrong Dental Studio!!

Coming here was such a great choice. I had to get a root canal and crowning, everyone from the desk, to the technician to Dr. Omar were amazing, friendly and professional. Great experience with Dr. Armstrong and his staff. After moving to the city over a year ago, I was way overdue for a cleaning/check-up and had been putting off picking a dentist primarily because I’ve had bad experiences with dental appointments in the past. I came across Dr. Armstrong on my insurance provider’s website and gave the office a call. His staff was very friendly and scheduled me an appointment a little more than a week out (not easy to get in Manhattan). The appointment went very smoothly – Dr. Armstrong and his staff are very professional and they took good care of me. The overall process was very thorough and they take the time to answer any questions you have along the way. I’ll definitely be coming back for my next cleaning.

I have had 2 root canals (feel asleep during both), had a 30+ yr old broken tooth temporarily replaced and just fixed with a permanent fix, a tooth extraction with a bone graph (dozed off a few times there), a thorough cleaning and planning future dental work to be done by Dr Armstrong. All this work done with in 2 months. No pain, no pain I repeat no pain. I put my trust in him and his staff not just for myself but my family also. Make an appointment and its true to the time. No waiting for long periods like some other dental places we tried. I work for MTA and my insurance wasn’t any problem. What I had to pay out of pocket for was more than reasonable. Clean office and I felt at home from the first visit. I respect the fact that he lets me know everything. From xrays and 3D pictures of my teeth. A thorough treatment plan for my dental health needs. To the financial breakdown of how my insurance works with each procedure and if there’s any out of pocket fees. Thank you Dr Armstrong and staff. I’m still blown away at how amazing you make my visits feel!

Booking an appointment and communication with the staff was flawless. Absolutely no waiting, efficient and friendly staff, and clean well kept work spaces, and the professional demeanor of everyone was superb. I am looking forward to revisiting this practice. I am new to this practice and I have to say this is the best dentist office I have ever been to! I’ve been to multiple practices over the last 6 years primarily in Manhattan and this was my best experience. I was seen within 5 minutes of checking into my appt. I had the nicest dental hygienist who took her time with performing my X-rays and doing my cleaning. Afterwards, I met with Dr. Armstrong and he took his time explaining my X-rays and going through the images of my fillings. I am glad I finally found a dentist who is reliable, patient, and kind. I’ve been going to Dr. Armstrong for about a year now. I have to say I feel blessed to have found him. From the very first appointment he and his staff (Jill, Tea and Shari) have made me feel comfortable, not judged and well taken care off. It’s the day after and I am pleasantly surprised. I consider myself to have a very high-level of dental phobia (for good reason). Previous inexperienced and/or uncaring practioners have traumatized and left me in a poor dental state. But it’s something about a toothache that will not be ignored no matter how bad the experience has been. That’s where Dr. Omar Armstrong and his team comes in. I literally sat in the waiting room – edge of the seat, fists clenched and practicing Gasalt breathing techniques (sort of asking jokingly for a sedative)! The 90 to 120 minutes that followed was by far the best ever. Like best chef, best pilot, best barber/hairstylist BEST. The things we cannot do for ourselves we depend on someone we can trust. When that someone best themselves is something to behold. I have not taken 1 pain medication post procedure. There’s no blood when I brushed my teeth. I’m on my way to the bowling alley. If you’re like me and need but don’t want to go to the dentist try Dr. Armstrong (hurry up, he’s booked)! I would have hugged him but I didn’t want things to get weird.

I love this place! I’ve been going to Doctor Armstrong for about a year. My appointments always start on time, everyone on staff is personable and friendly and the establishment is clean. I highly recommend. I love the goodie bags they give out too. I go every 3 months for a teeth cleaning, so I know that there service is consistent and high quality. Last personal touches are great. They send me happy birthday emails and the admin are extremely attentive. I have since referred 3 people to Dr Armstrong and they are all loyal to this Dentist practice.

I have been a patient of Dr. Armstrong since 2012. He was previously at another dental office where I was in need of a dentist and happened to make an appt with him. Sooo HAPPY I did- Dr. Armstrong is AMAZING!! Very patient, professional- and a great listener. So many times- especially in this city, doctor visits can make you feel so “rushed” or like just another face among many. Not with my Dentist. He listens and takes his time to explain procedures and answers medical questions thoroughly. I always feel like he is fully attentive and genuinely concerned about his patients’ care. I’m so proud he now has his own practice! He removed my Wisdoms- and now I’m so excited that he is treating me for Invisalign. Jill holds down the fort at the front of the office- she’s very friendly and outgoing which adds to a great office visit. My first visit with Dr. Armstrong and I felt comfortable from the start. Knew I had serious issues with loose teeth for quite awhile but when he advised me to remove all my top teeth and get implants I had complete trust. After receiving a fair price the procedure went smoothly from the start. Virtually pain free extraction of ten teeth followed by temporary teeth while the implants healed. The finished product was a beautiful row of top teeth. The entire team at Armstrong Dental are professional and delight to work with. I actually enjoyed going to the dentist during the entire procedure – how many people can say that!

If you have ever been fearful of the dentist, join the club. I am embarrassed to speak of how long I have avoided them. Longer then I am willing to write on this review. I live in Florida, and was on a trip to visit family. I had a couple of teeth that had become pretty painful in the month leading up to it. But my fear compromised my intellect and I procrastinated to address the situation. It got to the point of no return while in NY. I asked my family where to go, and this is where they referred me. So, in all my fearful glory, I scheduled the appointment. Jill, who works the front desk, was amazingly sweet and walked me through all my questions, concerns, and even helped me with my insurance information. They got me in really fast, and then came the day. My anxiety was off the charts. The minute I was brought in the room they helped me to feel really relaxed about what they were going to do. Tia, their hygienist, is sooooo nice. I mean really nice. She even gave me a stress ball to squeeze, shaped like a tooth. Nice touch. Well played Dr. Armstrong, well played. Then Dr Armstrong came in. He spoke to me about what he was going to do. I immediately began to relax. Maybe its his voice. Maybe it’s his delivery. Maybe a little of both. He made me fell a LOT better then I ever expected to feel. This was the most important part of the visit for me. You need to understand how fearful I am. This was a big step for me and he pulled it off, with the patience of a saint. Once the Novocaine was given, it was a breeze. I put headphones on and literally fell asleep during the 1st root canal. No lie. Maybe I was so worked up that I exhausted myself to that point, but none-the-less, it was amazingly painless. Yes, I said first, because I had second and a cavity filled. He followed up with aftercare instructions and I left there so mad at myself for taking so long to address these issues. So mad for being so scared. So mad that it took not being able to eat so many foods due to pain. But it was a life changer. I was back to enjoying food again without any pain. I thanked them immensely for the way they treated me. But I wanted to share it with others. And hopefully they read this so they are once again reminded that they literally changed someone’s life that day. Thank you Dr. Armstrong and staff.

Office is very clean, organized, and efficient. Overall the office is very modern with relaxing ambiance. Office has up-to-date/new equipment and seem to utilize modern treatment approaches to dental care. For example I only had to get 4 X-rays using the bite block and one full X-ray that went around my head versus other offices that take 20 images only using a bite block which is often super uncomfortable and annoying. Front desk staff are personable & very helpful. My hygienist was very sweet and explained everything that she was doing throughout the cleaning and seemed genuinely concern about my care & comfort. Unfortunately, I need some work done, but Dr. Armstrong was professional and explained the pros and cons of different approaches to my dental issue (recommended inlays versus normal cavity fillingfor a chipped tooth and worsening cavity. fun fact: inlays are made to order in the office NOT sent out, thereby reducing the process to ONE & not TWO visits for this treatment). He made a recommendation that I feel is appropriate and better than the alternative. Although the treatment may cost more now it would mitigate issues in the future. I will be returning for my dental work, because I believe the work will be done well with Dr. Armstrong & trust him with my dental health.

So, I recently moved to New York City for a new job after transitioning out of the military, and an executive invited me to a black tie event at my company. The last time I visited the dentist was in the service in February, so it was about time for a cleaning – the logical step was to find a dentist, figure out how civilians get dental care, and get cleaned up for the dinner. Or so I thought. I found Dr. Armstrong online via ZocDoc, and he of course (as you’ll learn in this review) comes highly recommended – NYU graduate, and you can’t beat the warm and inviting smile on the website! I figured, “this guy looks pretty cool, I’ll check him out.” I came in for my cleaning, got some x-rays done, and before the dental hygienist began her work, she had an “uh oh” moment and called Dr. Armstrong. Lo and behold, I had not one but TWO cavities, one of which had been in decay for at least a year, but most likely two or more years. How was this possible? I religiously went to the dentist in the military every six months (as required by the command for statistics) including cleanings, x-rays, and more!? Her response: “I don’t know.” Yeah, I DO know! Military dental care apparently sucks! But you know who doesn’t suck? Dr. Armstrong and his entire staff. Here’s the deal – I needed a root canal. I told my mom, and my mom was like “you would know if you needed a root canal – you’d be in so much pain!” so I freaked out, thinking a root canal meant I would lose my tooth altogether. I got a second opinion, and the whole time Dr. Armstrong & Jill, the office administrator, were both cool as a cucumber. They reassured me multiple times in my freak out mode that I would be fine, and showed extreme patience and professionalism as I sought a second opinion. Long story short, root canal and other filling went off without a hitch, I have a crown that fits my rooted tooth like a glove, and I have myself a go-to dentist for anything I need. I like Dr. Armstrong & Jill and everyone else there so much that I’m going back next week for an Invisalign consult. So whatever you’re doing, if you’re considering Dr. Armstrong, stop reading this right now and make an appointment. You will not be disappointed, and the costs, at least for my treatment plan, were extraordinarily reasonable compared to what some of my colleagues and friends said they paid for a similar treatment! Dr. Armstrong – best dentist I’ve had in my life, no joke. Even my childhood dentist didn’t show the kind of compassion, humor, and “bedside” (chairside?) manner that Dr. Armstrong has. He is bar none a true patient’s dentist.

I went to see Dr.Armstrong for the very first time. With that name I figured let’s see how strong his arm really is. Well he is strong yet gentle and give that fear feeling of being at dentist office right out the door. He assistant was also very gentle and I am the biggest baby when dealing with my teeth. They make you feel comfortable and there is no worry at all sitting in the seat. They go over everything wrong and right with you teeth and mouth. Highly recommended, I drove all the way from Long Island suffolk county north fork just to see what the hype was about. And yes. Highly recommended. Will definitely be back for more work and yearly cleaning. Very clean space very happy people very friendly doctors and staff. They definitely care about you and your smile. I’ve had some pretty bad experiences at other dentist offices so I’ve been putting off checkups for cavities and a potential root canal for a long time now but I’ve been going to Dr Armstrong’s office since January and I am so glad and thankful to have met this team. I am writing a review now because my experiences have CONSISTENTLY been phenomenal. Dr Armstrong and Tia, the dental hygienist, are so patient and gentle and efficient every single time. They answer all my nervous little questions and concerns before and after a procedure and are readily available to consult with even on the phone. Also, I’d like to note that since January I’ve had a few appointments with their practice now and so far there have been no sneak-attack bills like with other medical practices that I’ve come across. I can attest that they’re very honest and will let you know in advance if there are any differentials they require before providing a procedure/treatment. I HIGHLY recommend this team of pros!
