Dr. Nathan is the greatest dentist that I have ever encountered. I have been a patient for years. He has done everything that I have asked. I just had a crown installed. Being the dentist he is, you never have to wonder if there will be pain or discomfort with the procedure. I trust him ONLY when it comes to my smile. He takes care of my entire household. Not to mention that he is attentive and very personable. As long as he is in his practice, I will be there. GREATEST DENTIST I HAVE EVER MET. Darla Godfrey

Dr. Head is a great dentist. He carefully explains what he is doing and works with the patient to ensure their comfort. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I travel for 2 hours each direction to get my dental work done by Dr. Head. He has worked with me to complete multiple procedures that I have needed in one visit so that I don’t need to come in as often. Even when he has done multiple procedures I can honestly say that this is the least amount of pain I have ever experienced after a dentist visit. I highly recommend Atlantic Dental and Dr. Nathen Head.

My husband has dental insurance and had been neglectful. With the help and guidance of Dana has taken the time to explain how this health works. Her optimism paid off, he put in the positive habits, now he can keep his teeth. Dr. Nathan Head offers a GREAT cash paying membership, with discounts. The entire staff is heartfelt, invested, and knowledgeable. He’s been nothing other than sympathetic, understanding, honest, with every repair we’ve needed. He adds foster children to his family instead of cars or mortgage. He’s a great investment to humanity.

I have never had such a thorough dental exam in my 69 years on this earth The hygienist was very personable and explained everything she was doing in detail. After she completed her assessment, she went over it with me. Then I met Dr. Head. We discussed what I was striving for, and he came up with a plan that both met my needs and my budget. In total, I was there almost 2 hours. I am very grateful for all the planning and attention I received. I recommend Atlantic Dental Associates very highly. UPDATE: On Thursday, July 1st, I got my permanent dental plates. Now, at 70, I have a full set of teeth again. Some are the ones that grew in, and the rest are the ones on the plates. I honestly can’t look into my mouth and tell which are which.This was far more affordable than implants, which would have cost ten times more than this plan that Dr. Head laid out for me. I probably won’t be around for more than another 10 years, so the implants would not have been a practical investment . I can’t thank Dr. Head and his technicians enough. And I have no limitations on what I can eat.

I have found the transition at Atlantic Dental Associates to have been seamless! Dr. Head and his staff have always given me wonderful professional and personal treatment…..making me feel like I am good professional hands while making me feeling at ease….both so imperative to a good dental outcome. I am so happy I have continued to be a patient there!!! If you haven’t made an appointment yet, get on it!

Not only is every staff member invested and amazing, but Dr. Head gives so much of himself. He has a genuine nature, offers great referral programs, great yearly discounts for cash patients. He nurtures foster children. He’s VERY compassionate about your pain, about your cost, about your best interest, and long term health. He’s honest, and he guarantees his work.

Atlantic Dental, Dr. Head (both of them) and the staff are professional, sincerely concerned with your dental health and are NOT out to rob your pocket book! I was a patient at a downtown office but started at Atlantic Dental because it was closer to my house…so glad I did! They are truly a great bunch!

Just had my cleaning yesterday, and have to say… there is unprecedented kindness shown from every staff member from the minute you show up until the minute you leave. The facility is squeaky clean . My dental hygienist is the best I’ve ever had in 40 years, and the dentists are hands-down the most compassionate and caring any dentists could be. I couldn’t recommend Atlantic Dental any higher! Excellent job to all!

this dental office is very friendly. They have great communication. I get an email reminder of my appointment and a text message I like that. The hygienist makes me feel very comfortable and she’s friendly. When I have appointments I don’t have a long wait they get right down to business and I’m on my way. They are of art they are very accommodating in scheduling my appointment when I need one. I recommend this Dental office highly

Dr. Head and his staff are so professional, caring , and dedicated. I have a phobia about seeing the anesthesia needle. They addressed my fears compassionately and made sure instruments were kept out of my sight, including covering my eyes until the injections were complete.  Feel so safe and cared for at this dental practice

Atlantic Dental is great! I had a dental emergency (lost a veneer on my front tooth) on a Friday afternoon. My regular dentist doesn’t work Friday afternoons, and apparently most other dentists take Fridays off, too. When I called Atlantic Dental 30 minutes before their office was scheduled to close, they said “c’mon in…we can help you.” By the time I got through West Ashley traffic, it was nearly closing time. The front desk team welcomed me and helped to reduce my anxiety…Dental emergencies can be unsettling. The dentist was able to make a same day crown, and got me set. I’m going out of town for the weekend…it would’ve been bad if I couldn’t smile, but now I can. I’m so grateful for the professionalism and competency of the entire team. Highly recommended!! UPDATE: I’m now a “new” patient at Atlantic Dental. I had my initial exam this morning. It was the most thorough and hi-tech exam I’ve ever had. The hygienist (Angie?) was in point. She explained the procedure every step of the way, and interpreted the findings. She was very educational. I didn’t get the customary lecture about flossing more…she was very encouraging about the work I do to take care of my teeth. Still give them 5 stars…the entire team was first rate.

Always an incredible experience! I’ve been coming to them for years and recently needed some emergency work done. They fit me in right away and did a wonderful job! They make you feel at ease, like they’re welcoming you into their own home. The manner in which they treat me as a patient is unparalleled and I highly recommend them as a down to earth, honest and reliable team.

I love this dental group. They are so friendly, efficient, caring, and the office/clinical area is very clean. No spit bowls!! Dr. Head and the hygenists are very gentle in their work and genuinely care about their patients. I needed to find a dentist in the West Ashley/Charleston area after moving here 2 years ago. I had been with the same dental group in NH for over 20 yrs. I found Atlantic Dental through a search in my insurance companies site. I viewed Atlantic Dental’s webiste and liked what I saw so I made an appt. My first visit was last year. Today I had my 6 month follow-up. My husband also goes to Atlantic Dental and has been extremely happy with the care and treatment he has received. I definitely recommend Atlantic Dental to anyone looking for a new dental group! Dr. Nathan Head also steered me in the right direction of an orthodontist, whom I also love (Reese Orthodontics).

I had put off going to the dentist for about 4 years when I finally went in for a cleaning and checkup while in SC for extended holidays (with some not-so-gentle nudging from my parents). I don’t love going to the dentist (who does?) but I ended up having a great experience at Atlantic. While I did end up needing some fillings, they assured me everything was normal and more of “just a tuneup” considering I hadn’t been to the dentist in so long. Dr. Head was very friendly throughout the entire process and put photos of my teeth on a screen to explain what he was seeing during the exam, showing where existing fillings had weakened and new cavities were forming. The experience overall was very pleasant–I definitely recommend it to anyone in the area. Nice light offices, and it’s not far from downtown.

After moving to the Charleston area from upstate New York, I had a hard time finding a professional dental office that really took the time and effort to take care of my dental health. Atlantic Dental Associates is that office and that office has an amazing staff. Your are greeted warmly by the reception staff. Dana is not afraid to give your teeth an excellent cleaning (and flossing) and lets you know how your dental health is and what needs to be done. She also knows and remembers her clients and it’s always fun to catch up with her. Dr. Nathen Head is amazing. He takes his time, walks you through every step and will not rush through with his work until he is totally satisfied that he has done the best job possible. Also, the day after completing a tough cavity filling AND a crown, I have no pain!!! I am totally satisfied with Dr. Head and his staff. I definitely give them 5 stars but after the office’s popularity continues to grow, I hope I can still get an appointment!!! Thank you!!!

My experience at Atlantic Dental is always a pleasant one. The staff is very knowledgeable and does a great job giving me care, but I think what really stands out is their willingness to take the time to listen to me and do whatever they can to help. Definitely recommend Dr. Head and his staff if you’re looking for a dentist in West Ashley!

I am so appreciative of the kindness and understanding of Dr Head, Dana, and Kathy! Yesterday, I had my first routine appointment for X-rays and cleaning. I had my 9 year old niece and my 5 month old baby with me. About 2/3 of the way through my appointment, I heard my baby crying. I went out to the waiting area to check on her and Kathy was holding her trying to help. She was definitely needing her Moma at this point. Dr Head and Dana were so kind. I was able to finish my appointment with my baby on my lap. Not everyone would do that!

If you are looking for a new dentist, I would highly recommend Atlantic Dental Associates! I had a dental emergency several years ago, but didn’t have a regular dentist. I found ADA online and gave them a shot. I have been more than satisfied ever since. Dr. Nathan Head is a great dentist- friendly, gentle, nonjudgmental. And Dana is a super hygienist. My husband is now a patient as well. I truly believe that they are in business to provide excellent dental care and I trust the service recommendations that they give.
