Dr. Raber is the most genuine, kind, personable, gentle and caring dentist I’ve ever seen. I first found her after having recently moved; I had several cavities and no dental insurance. BMD had extremely reasonable prices (better than those in the southern ‘burbs of Seattle), and Dr. Raber was amazing and understanding of my fear of needles. She also guided me to get a night guard for my severe bruxism (teeth grinding). It relieved my headaches and saved my teeth. I’m forever in her debt; she is the reason I drive 45 minutes each way to get dental care.

I started going to Ballard Modern Dentistry shortly after they opened and have had great experiences. The staff is very pleasant, and Dr. Raber is always cheery and friendly. They were also particularly polite and nice enough to work me in when I confused my appointment time and showed up nearly an hour late. My mistake, yet the wait was no more than 10-15 minutes. They have a dedicated customer in me

Jessica Raber and her staff are really great! Over all the office is New, Modern, Clean! Love it! I regularly suffer from Canker Sores (couple times a month). They suggested to try laser treatment. It is absolutely the best thing you can do! I tried about every supplement on the market. Laser works immediately. Sore is sill there but the pain is 99% gone. And the treatment itself is nearly painless (3 out of 10 pain level, 10 being when you put salt on the sore). The only other option that worked in the past is electric cauterization, but that one is very very painful during the treatment.

My wife and I have been coming here since we moved Seattle and we’ve had nothing but positive experiences.  Everybody who works in the office is super friendly and helpful.  Also, I’ve had two wisdom teeth extractions (I did top and bottom separately for insurance/timing reasons) and both times the procedure and recovery went much more smoothly than I would have expected.  Highly recommend this place!

Dr. Raber is the best dentist I have ever had: she is an accomplished dentist who is experienced, confident, and kind. I received endodontic treatment to save an injured tooth, and it was stress-free and painless. Dr. Raber designed a crown for me; she was extremely detailed oriented and addressed all my preferences/needs with patience and understanding. Every 6 months I go for my teeth cleaning and the whole staff is wonderful: warm, friendly, efficient, and professional. Ballard Modern is a thorough, gentle, knowledgeable and interactive dental office. The Medical Assistants and Hygienists are all terrific. They have the best equipment & latest advances in dentistry available. I appreciate all the tips and educational suggestions for dental hygiene. I’m healthier and happier. I don’t typically review spots but I felt an obligation to pay my respect when I see one is seamlessly operating. I don’t love the dentist (I’m only human) but I genuinely had an awesome experience with Dr. Raber and the staff. The equipment is state of the art – from the iPad in-take to the dental machinery. The hygienist grabbed me right away and was super pleasant throughout the process. I was a smoker and my teeth aren’t perfect so the hygienist and Dr. Raber made a seemingly dreary situation really enjoyable by being friendly, gentle, and attentive. My concerns were heard and they informed me of different options i could take to better myself. They know and communicate the good, the bad, and the ugly in a professional manner. I’ll definitely be returning and telling others to switch over! And to the gentleman that left a poor review below for apparently being denied his “privacy” with a tank of nitrous (not to mention not being able to pay for services and still getting a refund?)…..+1 to Ballard Modern Dentistry for not dealing with your nonsense.

I realize this is weird to say but…I’m obsessed with Ballard Modern Dentistry. Yes, this is a dentists office and no, I’m not a glutton for punishment. But I had such an amazing experience here that I haven’t stopped talking about it. I’ve been moving around quite a bit in the last few years and haven’t been good about establishing care with a new dentist because of it. So when I found out I’d be leaving Seattle, I bit the bullet and logged onto Yelp to find a dentist so that I could at least get a general cleaning. I found Ballard Modern Dentistry, saw they were doing a new patient special, and made an appointment with Dr. Ra for that week (a pretty amazing feat in itself). I’m legitimately convinced that, had I not just moved out of Seattle 2 weeks after my appointment, I would be making random appointments just to hang out with Dr. Ra. She (and the rest of the office staff) were some of the friendliest and most fun staff I’ve ever encountered at a medical practice. Not only that, they all gave top level care. Like most people, I’m not a fan of the dentist. But the whole experience was easy, well explained, informative, and dare I say enjoyable. If I could take this staff and practice with me everywhere I go, I would. And if I ever move back to Seattle, I won’t hesitate to make an appointment here no matter what neighborhood I live in.

Just had an amazing experience at Ballard Modern Dentistry. Was visiting Seattle from Los Angeles and got a toothache, a friend recommended BMD, and I couldn’t have be happier. Dr. Raber and her staff were extremely friendly and the office was fantastic. Aside from the great dental work, I particularly enjoyed the personal TV screen and noise cancelling headphones which made the experience all the more relaxing. Overall, I would certainly recommend BMD to anyone in the Ballard area looking for a great local spot!

I had a very pleasant experience with Ballard Modern Dentistry. I’ve just moved into a new neighborhood and wanted to establish a new dentist. Pros: it was easy to schedule an appointment (roughly 1 week out). I was greeted when I walked in, and my appointment started on time. My dental assistant was friendly and talked me through the procedures. My dentist was terrific, friendly, and knowledgable. The office was clean, bright, and everyone was in a good mood. Cons: none! It was a 5/5 experience. I’ve had some mild issues with my gums and some shadier dentists have tried to upsell me on deep cleanings in the past. My previous dentist said I didn’t really need it. Ballard Modern Dentistry agreed – she said I was borderline, but didn’t need it for now. I appreciate them not upselling unnecessary services. I’ll definitely be back!

When I initially went to this clinic I was hesitant as it seemed “corporate” but the intro price for cleaning attracted me. I’ve now been for three cleanings over the past year and a half and am very impressed. The staff is kind and efficient. Rani, the hygienist, is gentle and positive and puts my mind at ease (I’m not a big fan of dental experiences in general!) by constantly checking in with me to see how I’m doing. She made the experience stress free and – dare I say – pleasant! Dr. Ra is gentle and kind and very encouraging. Not at all pushy in terms of additional work needed. I felt like I was part of a team deciding on the best way to move forward. I understand that this is a private clinic under the Modern Dentistry corporate umbrella. Dr. Ra is the owner. Her staff at the front desk are very helpful and patient. I’m a fan and will continue to go here for my dental needs.

Simply put, I love this dentist! Friendly, thorough and totally “modern” with cool technology and totally painless techniques! My story: So, I fell and broke my two front teeth (sorry Mom!) late one night, then desperately sought out a dentist in the morning (it was NOT a good look). I checked Yelp and found a few options, then called 3 of them. Of the 2 that picked up, Ballard Modern Dentistry was the first that could get me in, so, I went. Suffice to say, I was BLOWN AWAY by the quality of service and cari received. The office manager walked me through my insurance options clearly and confidently and helped me minimize my out of pocket costs. The doctor made my root canal and crown process utterly painless and (if this is possible) pleasant! Not only that, they didn’t have the right shade of white to match my teeth, so put in temporary crowns to fill my gaps while the lighter shade was shipped overnight. A month and a half later, my “teeth” look and feel amazing! So glad I lucked (or Yelped) upon such a lovely dentist!

I have been going to Modern Dentistry for over 2 years now and cannot say enough good things about this office! First off, my Hygienist Rani is AMAZING. Not only is she super thorough with her cleanings, I feel like I learn something new each time I come in about how to better care for my teeth. She is super easy going and you can tell she genuinely cares about her patients and what she’s doing. Second, the front office team is absolutely top notch. Thuy always gets me checked in and out super fast and I always understand what I owe. Finally, the doctors and dental assistants here are all incredible and will truly make you want to never go to any other dental practice again!
