I have been a patient at Ballas Dental Care since I can remember! I have yearly cleanings & check-ups! I’ve had cavities taken care of, my wisdom teeth extracted (and they hadn’t pushed through the jaw bone yet), and just today had a root canal. I have never had a bad experience due to their work! Every one of them are friendly & always in such a good mood that it makes it nearly impossible to be nervous about whichever procedure you need done. One important note is that it’s obvious that they’re not just there for the money. They make strong suggestions but never over-push the subject & show that they really care about their patients. They give you possible & realistic consequences if you choose to not follow their suggestions (ie. get braces) & allow you to make the choices based on your preference. They were great with me as a child, & are still great today in my adulthood. Thanks guys!

I have never been so thankful to have Dr Watanabe as my dentist. He is a miracle worker for sure! Not to mention the wonderful assistants! Words can’t express my gratitude! I never want Doug to retire! This is an office environment like no other, the very best! Thank you Doug for your 40+ years of expertise on my poor sad teeth! ✌️♥️

I’ve spend time working in the operating room so I know “clean” and cleanest ranks very high for me when it comes to choosing a dental provider for myself and my family. (Nowadays it’s number one for everyone!) The Ballas Dental team are seasoned experts in providing clean, safe, personalized care and equally impressive is the high quality of the dentistry in this practice; second to none! You want them to be your dentist!

Dr Watanabe is by far the best dentist I have had in my lifetime and I am close to 78! He and his assistants are excellent in the services they perform, they are pleasant, and they make you feel like you are the only patient in the building. Also, the receptionists and office staff are always welcoming and friendly to patients as they enter and when they leave the office.

I have nothing but good things to say about this practice: professional, friendly, and clearly competent, using up to date technology and methods. The only suggestion I could make is for different background music in the examining rooms. I prefer Haydn when I want to relax. I posted this review some time ago, and I still stand by it. Probably no one really looks forward ro going to the dentist, but the staff at Ballas make a visit there as pleasant as possible.

This is the greatest Dentist by far. Very professional yet takes time to hear your concerns and then review options. I’ve been a patient for many years and I have never been dissatisfied. That says alot. And I have had alot of different procedures so I have experienced alot if what he can do. I worried when he had new Dentist join his practice that the care may be different and it would start problems, not at all . I have seen him as well and he continued the same great service and personable treatment. And we all know the Dr.s run these great offices with the drive of a great staff. You are welcomed from the check in to the Hygienist. They have a wonderful staff. I highly recommend this group! Thank you, Mary

I was referred to Ballas Dental Care by a current patient. I recently transferred to St. Louis from Ohio and was experiencing a painful toothache that needed immediate attention. Ballas Dental Care was able to accommodate me immediately and found that my recent crown just needed a quick adjustment. I was so relieved and also glad that I was also able to schedule my cleanings with them moving forward. Ballas Dental Care was professional and polite while showing a level of care that is very rare these days.

Generations of our family have been going to Ballas Dental Care for many decades. It is an amazing team from start to finish. A professional and caring staff make office visits less anxious when necessary and going twice yearly for cleanings stave off problems. Staff was very efficient, professional, curteous and welcoming. Dr Watanabe is very pleasant and friendly on top of being excellent in his profession. It becomes very clear after a few minutes with him that he does his work for the benefit of his patients and money is less important to him. He is a real gentleman and inspires his staff to be like himalso. Money definitely comes long after meeting and exceeding of the patients expectations in their care. I haven’t been to a dentist’s for 3 years so I was nervous on how this would go. When I came in for my first appointment here, I was quite pleased with how kind and courteous the staff were. Everything is explained straight to the point, but in a way that is easiest to understand. My teeth were well cleaned and I definitely recommend!

My family has been patients here for over 20 years.  The staff and dentist are very helpful and always concerned about us, there is never any discomfort or pain.  I have 3 small kids who love the dentist and are not afraid to go.  If someone is in pain they get us right in.  The ladies at the front desk help us with our insurance and they are NOT expensive, very reasonable.  My extended family have all switched to this office.  Family friendly cheerful helpful and pain free office.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED  : )

Best dentist office in St Louis. They helped me through a difficult TMJ experience where others all over town didn’t have the expertise. Dr Watanabe is amazing and helped me get back to normal. He did this without charging me anything. Recently I had my teeth cleaned and again was overwhelmed at the level of skill, and expertise that went into it. My teeth have never been cleaner. Heather is awesome at what she does. The entire crew regardless of who or what you need all go well beyond good service. I’ve converted my entire family and each has thanked me for doing so. They have had the same experience as myself.

Today was by far one of the worst days ever and BALLAS DENTAL MADE IT BETTER!! My temporary tooth broke and tomorrow is my brother’s funeral. I called Ballas and even in the midst of Covid, they made an exception and got me in. I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR THEIR CARE AND COMMITMENT TO PATIENTS. I left Ballas with tears in my eyes. Ballas Dental is full of good humans!! THANK YOU!! ❤️

Ballas Dental truly saved me Thanksgiving Holiday weekend! Woke up the day before Thanksgiving with an incredible pain in my tooth. I called the office and they were able to send a prescription to my local pharmacy for an antibiotic and some pain medication. They also able to get me into their schedule first thing the following Monday. Without Ballas I would not have been able to enjoy the long weekend with my family. Thank you Ballas team!

Yesterday my girls had filling appointments with Dr. Wantanabe. They each found out that day they had to be back to school earlier than expected. Dr. Wantanabe and his wonderful staff were able to work with their schedules -and Stephanie even fit in a retainer repair, saving us a trip to the orthodontist. Thank you Ballas Dental. You truly look out for the patient, understand their needs, then do your best to accommodate. Somehow you even go above and beyond.

I have been going to Dr. Watanbe since 1986. When I moved away I have continued to come back from CA and UT because it is worth the trip. His staff is always amazing, his assistants are highly skilled, and the temperature in the office is always comfortable, not too hot and not too cold. Which seems like a little thing but is really important! I wrote the above few years ago, and I am in ST. Louis visiting and just went in yesterday, 8/10/21. I absolutely think they are the BEST dental office around, as far as staff, service, and facility. So pretty much recommend them to anyone. I have a dentist in Utah where I live now, and it’s my 3rd dentist I’ve tried there, none of them can measure up. You don’t think much about the skills of a dentist, but Dr. Watanabe is an ARTIST compared to every other dentist, even ones with as many years of experience. He’s just so good at what he does, plus, he and his staff are wonderful people!:)

I am confident, that no matter the issue, the caring team at Ballas Dental Care will find an acceptable solution for me. My doctor collaborates well with other specialists to determine root cause and then selects the optimal wellness path to a successful outcome for me. I have been going to Ballas Dental Care since the day the office opened there. I have known Dr. Watanabe for nearly 45 years. What is apparent to me is the genuine friendliness and caring of the staff. I love all three of the dentists there, and my hygienist, Shari, is awesome! There is no way a dental office can be any better than this! I have had major dental issues, but I know I am in good hands! I am so grateful I have found the best!

Highly recommend Ballas Dental Care! I have not been to a dentist in more years than I’d like to admit and there was ZERO judgment from the staff there. They put together a treatment plan for me, considered my feelings (and my checkbook!) all while making me feel completely comfortable and supported! Excellent doctor!!! Very thorough and caring. I find that Dr. Douglas T. Watanabe, takes time to explain any needed procedures and gives all of the options. He always explains all the pros and cons of a treatment so that I can make an independent judgment. The staff is great, extremely friendly. Dr. Watanabe, has a great rapport with his assistants and hygienist and they all work very well together. I recently had an emergency with a broken denture, called him with the problem and he had me in and fixed within 24 hrs. That is service. My wife and I have been pleased with your professional, yet personable, service and refer him to everybody in need. J Parlow
