I walked off the street looking for a quick fix for my tooth problem and have been going back ever since. I highly recommend him. He’s personable and will do his best to accommodate you with your scheduling problems. In my particular case, after I thought I was going to have to wait for a crown to be made off-site and sent to his office (which would have been a bummer in my case. But lo and behold, he took laser measurements in my mouth of the area needing the crown, sends the information into another room where he has the equipment to make his own crowns out of porcelain. 30 minutes later, I had a perfect fit tooth made and installed. Was I impressed? Absolutely! Make him your personal dentist, you might even hear him sing or hum to his office music.

Dr Ma is Amazing! Until I was about 20 I saw the same dentist. I bounced around and probably saw 10-12 other dentists in the past 20 years since then. Dr Ma @ Bankai Dental in Westminster is by far, the best dentist I have ever seen. My wife & daughter love him. My mom loves him. My employees love him. We refer everyone we know to him because he’s gental, kind, has the best equipment (waited 15 min. for porcelain crown to be made in his office) & there’s NO PAIN!!!! Last year I had all of my 8 metal amalgam fillings replaced with porcelain (2 @ a time). The price was very reasonable, and all 4 visits went great! No pain at all! & no problems afterwards…at all. I’m so thankful I meet Dr Ma at a BNI meeting & decided to try him out. As a small business owner, who runs his business on quality workmanship, I give Dr. Ma the highest recommendation I can give.

I found Dr. Ma and Gina through their Groupon promotion and I am so glad I did! I called to make an appointment and they worked me in the very next day for cleaning and x-rays. Gina was super welcoming when I came in and did my x-rays (My least favorite part) super fast and made it as comfortable as possible. It’s worth mentioning that they use digital x-rays, which means you aren’t left with cuts and indentations from the old-school film method other offices use. Dr. Ma thoroughly looked through my registration forms and clarified health details before explaining my x-rays and starting the cleaning. He did the cleaning himself rather than bringing in a hygenist. Dr. Ma was incredibly gentle and had a very relaxed demeanor, which helps when you’re as hesitant to go to the dentist as I am. I’ve never had such a pleasant cleaning and I’ll definitely be returning for future cleanings. I loved my experience so much that I even referred my co-workers. We love wine and coffee so for Dr. Ma to also offer LumiBrite teeth-whitening (A 30-minute process that is more gentle than ZOOM!) has me stoked. I came back the day after my cleaning to do LumiBrite because he recommended waiting until after my gums were less irritated from the cleaning to achieve optimal results. Gina and Dr. Ma were incredibly accommodating with my work schedule so I can do this after work. I was meeting my boyfriend’s parents for the first time the same weekend and they made sure my teeth were in tip-top shape for it!

Id like to start off by saying that I absolutely hate going to the dentist. Im scared shitless and its been about 4-5 years since my last visit to a dentist. Was about to not go into my appointment today but decided I should just man up and go. I was not disappointed. I was referred to this place by a friend because he said that Dr. Ma was attentive and caring. Not only was he attentive and caring he was also informative. Made my teeth cleaning a lot more bearable than the past places I’ve been to. Also I have to give a shoutout to Gina cause she’s awesome. Definitely will be coming back for future dental work. Will also go back for check ups more frequently.

My first visit to this dental office was beyond excellent. The receptionist Gina was just lovely and so helpful with questions and the forms to complete. She did full mouth xrays so well. A short wait to meet the dentist Dr Ma. He was just so kind, skilled and gentle in his teeth cleaning .The best I’ve ever had and it was just a pleasure to be treated so well. I have had horrific experiences with dentists in LA or OC, but I persisted and found Dr Ma. Will never go anywhere else!. Dr. Khai Ma is hands down the coolest dentist I’ve had. He’s really down to Earth and does his job really well. His establishment is very clean and has a certain Zen feeling to it. It’s always fun talking to him, he’s a really chill guy. And he sometimes busts out his music through the speakers, which is pretty awesome. Gina is just the sweetest person ever. She’s really helpful and is very gentle towards her patients. I remember her leaving for a brief period of time and the atmosphere just wasn’t the same without her, but fortunately for all of us, she’s back! You can tell that she loves working here with Dr. Ma because she’s always in a good mood. Dr. Khai Ma and Gina are the perfect duo, right up there next to Batman and Robin. They’re both great people.

Dr. Ma is seriously the coolest guy in the dental game. He’s kind and easy going, all while being as knowledgeable and professional as one could hope for in a dentist. His office is clean, organized and welcoming. I went in for a routine cleaning, x-rays and exams, generally terrified of any sort of dentistry, but it was seriously the most gentle, yet efficient procedure ever. Kathy – Office Manager Very very patient, sweet, understanding… I can’t give her enough kudos for putting up with my insurance, Mama, and me. Gina – Dental Assistant? Hygienist? I don’t know how dental office staff work. Super soothing, gentle, accommodating, sweet. Also very cute! 😉 Dr. Ma – Dentist Very funny, gentle touch, HONEST, personable. I feel confident letting Dr. Ma doing any procedures on my mouth. His shots are very gentle and I didn’t feel them at all! Overall, everyone here knew that I had anxiety coming into get my teeth pulled. Everybody was very good at keeping me calm and talked me through almost everything. Equipment is also pretty new and cool looking. I’ll be back for my teeth cleaning and cavities. I’ve already recommended 2 people here in person. Now I am recommending everyone who reads this review to go to Bankai Dental!

By far best dentist I’ve ever been to. I went in for a broken tooth and cleaning it was all painless and fast he was very nice and so was the receptionist I’ve never been to a dentist that just tells you what you need and answers all your questions so you understand everything that’s happening. I drive past Dr. Ma’s dentistry every day and have always appreciated the “Bankai” title (courtesy of my fiance’s love for anime). Actually, it was yelp that helped me take the plunge and call in.. Dr. Ma and Gina are genuinely nice and caring people. I had some discomfort in a root canal which was done 12 or so years ago and called them to ask if they charged for consultation and was advised no. They had a free appointment for me that same Saturday so I went in and met them both–they were great! We clicked right away, especially with Gina, she’s wonderful! 😉 Dr. Ma is very personable and is willing to work with you and help you out. Especially for a poor Aussie like me who’s not used to the American health care system. He explained a lot and gave me more information than I expected. He was also very willing to work with my budget (or lack thereof). I’m definitely going to be using him as my go-to dentist from now on. I don’t need to look around anymore because he’s decent and honest. Also, another thing I really like about his practice is the fact that he takes his time and doesn’t rush and tells you what he’s doing while you’re on the chair. Unlike other dentists who don’t give a damn or who make you feel like another number and try to hurry you through the appointment.

Dr. Ma and his assistant Gina go out of their way to take care of their patients. I originally consulted with Dr. Ma to see what he could do about my black-triangles. He explained to me that the traditional tools used in filling applications are not ideal in black-triangle cases and that he will look into better alternatives that would yield better results. Right then I knew Dr. Ma was going to be my new dentist. Dr. Ma and Gina insisted that they work with my insurance first to see if there is any possibility that my plan covered this treatment. Luckily my plan did cover part of the expenses and I am grateful that Dr. Ma and Gina took the time to deal with the paperwork for me. Dr. Ma also offers in-office whitening so I opted to whiten my teeth so that my fillings can be color matched to a brighter white. Now I am no longer self-conscious about my smile thanks to Dr. Ma and Gina! Dr. Ma is now my family’s primary dentist and we continue to recommend him to all our family and friends.

Dr. Ma is by far the best Dentist in Orange County. I spent a great deal of money with another dentist who supposedly did my fillings and it turns out the job was not complete. After several visits and many hours in the chair Dr. ma was able to get all my cavities filled and I couldn’t even feel the shot which is the part that is the scariest for me. I am so grateful for a Dentist that I can trust with every person I meet, who I know actually cares about me and my teeth. I definitely have my dentist for life and I recommend you do the same!

Dr. Ma is a wonderful dentist and i was introduced to him through a friend. I came in with my 19th tooth killing me from a bad root canal in 2010 and the root had become infected. He showed me photos of his wife suffering with the same problem. She had been getting her root canals re done and finally had to extract the tooth and put in an implant. Lucky for me, that’s what Dr. Ma does and I am setting up an appointment as soon as possible so that I can chew on my left side again! This is by far one of the most personable, apporachable and humorous dentists i have ever met. I think i found a keeper! 🙂 I highly recommend him to anyone with dental needs!

This review is so long overdue but as I sit here on this very same day, thinking back to last year, I realized I’d never reviewed my dentist and it was something I had been wanting to do but didn’t get around to it. This time last year, I was 39 weeks pregnant, attended my son’s school carnival, ate popcorn and chipped a molar!! I had to call Dr.Ma as it was a bit of an emergency. I didn’t want to go into labor any day and deal with the sensitivity that comes with a chipped molar! The kicker was that I needed to pick up food for my son’s birthday party the next day by about 10 am. Blessed Dr. Ma as he was able to squeeze me in at 8 am on a Saturday! He gave me a temporary filling until I delivered my baby and ready to come back for the permanent filling/crown!

I had some pretty horrible experiences with dentists growing up that caused me a lot of trauma… I was in a very vulnerable position after getting dental insurance to find a new dentist. I drove by this place for years and finally got a recommendation from an old coworker. Dr Ma and Gina are awesome! They’re gentle and always ask how I’m doing. I got a root canal and like I said, I was pretty traumatized by my old dentist, but I actually fell asleep TWICE on two separate occasions during my root canal at this place. My current health insurance doesn’t allow me to come here anymore and I’m pretty bummed out. Definitely recommend this place to all of my friends and family.

I was a first time patient and I have to say that I had a great experience. I’m fairly new to this area and I hadn’t found a Dentist yet. Unfortunately, I had to have emergency dental work due to a tooth accidentally falling out while eating last week. =( I needed a custom crown done and the Dr.was able to make me a Full Porcelain replacement in a matter of minutes. My misconceptions about dentists have been changed. It has been such a blessing to stumble upon Bankai Dental. After 7+ years of neglect from my previous dentist, I had no clue that awesome doctors like Dr. Ma, exists. Every clinician should learn from him.
Dr. Ma is extremely knowledgeable (honestly, he knows his sh*t and gets sh*t done), patient, kind, gentle, and very attentive to patient needs. I am super happy that I have finally found a place that is honest with inexpensive prices for all my dental care needs! I decided to get my teeth cleaned because it has been ages since the last time, and I found this place that was close to my house. I walk in and was greeted warmly by the receptionist. She was very personable and I enjoyed our conversation. After quick x-rays, Dr. Ma greeted me and clean my teeth. The process was pain free and he was very thorough. Dr. Ma is the most honest dentist I’ve met. My previous experience with Dentists was not the best; having work recommended that isn’t necessary being the most common issue I experienced.
