Even though there are many reputable orthodontists to choose from in North County, we decided to give our dentists recommendation a try and we are so glad that we did. Both of our kids have been seen by Dr. Schaefer and they feel extremely comfortable and at ease in the office. The staff is welcoming and kind – always greeting the kids by their first names as soon as they enter the office. I’ve been coming here for about 6 months now. I went to 3 other consultations before starting treatment and I ended up at Beam because they had the friendliest staff and Dr. Schaefer actually took the time to answer all my questions and thoroughly explain all my options. I appreciate the way he didn’t make me feel rushed or like I was wasting his time, and that’s why I chose this office. So far, I’ve had a great experience here, and I look forward to the remainder of my treatment.

From the moment you walk into BEAM, you feel like family. A bright, fresh, modern space, that doesn’t feel clinical but is impeccably clean and community oriented, beautifully designed and chic helps ease any dental/ortho jitters a new patient like me may have had. Luna greeted me with a huge loving smile and made sure I had everything I needed and checked me in right away. I came to Dr. Schaefer primarily for alignment with Invisalign, I have previously had braces in adolescence, but through adulthood my teeth have become visibly crowded. Everything from the open patient care space to the flat screen TV’s playing a surf competition to the booth seating, glassed in modern and comfy consult room and the upbeat vibe made me feel really comfortable. It was luxurious without being pretentious, and not like any dental office I have ever visited. The technology is top notch, my impressions weren’t the kind you sink your teeth into and have to wait for, they were done with a state of the art wand imaging technology that was quick, efficient and comfortable and helped me see my own teeth from all angles right away. Dr. Schaefer and Diana are an outstanding husband and wife team. There is something special about a family owned practice. When I was a medical rep, I remember the practices that were family owned and operated and they always felt special, and always put the patients first in a way that only a family can. They were both present for my consult, Dr. Schaefer listened to all of my concerns, and they had both read my online intake form in depth so they were aware of my situation and desires. What I loved most about their thorough and thoughtful approach is that it was completely tailored to me and extremely detailed without being overwhelming, and the main takeaway for me was that I knew without a doubt that I am in the best hands possible for the care of my smile–I can tell that while Dr. Schaefer is scientifically and technically outstanding, he is also passionate about the art of his care. I am so excited to start my Invisalign this week! (I was also on a time crunch with my consult and they were extremely respectful of my time.) And did I mention all of the new patient goodies I received? Proudly sporting a BEAM tee and using my new electric toothbrush! There is no doubt that when my children are ready for orthodontic care they will join the BEAM family, and I have now encouraged my husband toward Invisalign with Dr. Schaefer and his team as well!

Dr Schaefer is a wonderful orthodontist. He takes time with his patients, making sure they understand every step of the treatment. He is always very clear on what should be done that visit and what will be done on the future visits. His communication with staff is superb, making you feel at ease and comfortable with every visit. He creates a fun atmosphere in the orthodontic office. He is an orthodontist that you can TRUST.

Not only is this a gorgeous, state of the art office, it is a boutique practice. You don’t feel run over, or rushed, and you can feel how close this family owned practice is to its community. The decor is gorgeous, and fun, so I can certainly see why teenagers would love it. And they have freshly baked cookies! Yes! I went in as an adult, for a consult with Dr. Schaefer. Everyone from start to finish was so welcoming. I had my name on the wall, and was greeted with a warm smile and a tour. After getting all my images done I saw the doctor, who is so sweet and personable. I was not rushed, and everyone took their time to make sure I understood all of my options. Dr. Schaefer gave me several options, one of them being no treatment at all. He was open, and honest. He shared that he felt that surgery would be too drastic, and at most a shorter orthodontic treatment would help me achieve my esthetic goals. He really took the time to listen to my main concerns, and ultimately told me he felt that I should take some time to consider my options, rather than forcing me to sign on the dotted line so to speak. I felt heard, understood, and no pressure. I’m thankful for Dr. Schaefer’s honesty, and appreciate everyone’s generosity and kindness. Will definitely be sending family and friends over!
