Dr Indu Sharma helped me recently with a crown replacement. She is kind, sympathetic and very professional about her work. Everything was laid out in front of me clearly and upfront. This appointment was very reassuring. I went in for jaw pain and came out with a large smile. The dentist and her assistants were very kind, caring, and helpful. She herself was extremely gentle when examining my jaw. Everything went very smoothly and timely. Additionally, there was time to do extra treatment so I wouldn’t have to come back later!! Dr Sharma is one of the best dentists I have experienced. The doctor and the staff at the clinic are wonderful. The office is very nice and hygiene to my expectations. Staff are very accessible and listens to our queries/doubts and provide the suggestions and clarifications which will convince us to proceed with the treatment. I came to this office because a friend recommended Dr. Sharma, and I was not disappointed. Dr. Sharma is one of the most professional dentists I have ever had. Her staff is highly organized and very friendly, especially the office manager Vik, who personally took the time to get to know me as Dr. Sharma was finishing up with another patient. I was fearful my insurance plan wouldn’t be accepted, but the office fit me right in at an extremely reasonable cost. Visiting Berkeley Family Dental was a pleasant experience and I look forward to seeing Dr. Sharma soon for my next appointment.

I was very impressed with Dr. Indu Sharma’s office and the quality of her treatment. She took time to explain me everything in detail about the treatment. Her staff is very friendly and professional. Dr. Sharma is a great dentist. She is warm, friendly and very good at her job. I’ve been to this office three times and never had to wait for my appointment. Her staff is all very friendly and they accept the Delta Dental insurance I get as a UC Berkeley grad student. Best of all, I was very nervous about getting fillings replaced after a bad experience at an earlier dentist and she was so gentle. I barely felt the shots at all – they were far less painful than my flu shot! She was very patient when I requested another shot for my bottom tooth to numb it more and she was very careful and precise with my fillings, taking a her time to ensure that my bite aligned properly. Overall, I’ve had a great experience with Dr. Sharma and would highly recommend her!

I have four crowns on my front teeth.  One tooth broke off in the crown and came out, leaving me snaggle toothed.  Yikes!  I saw Dr. Sharma the same day I called  and she suggested a couple of options, root canal with post and crown, though not likely to last she said, and implant and crown.  Within two days I had a temporary tooth that matches so perfectly that no one can tell.  The implant and crown will cost nearly $5000!  Dr. Sharma expedited the delivery of the temp tooth as it usually takes 2 weeks! She understood how I felt about about the lack of a front tooth. She has been so understanding, patient with all my questions and anxiety, professional and caring, and is working with me around the finances.  She has done a crown for me before and it was excellent.  So, I have no doubt this will be the same.  The  receptionist, Lisa, the assistant, Andrea, and the office manager, Vic have all had a role in this production of my new tooth and have been caring, professional and provided excellent service.  I have yet to decide which option I’m going to choose, or if I will just keep the temp tooth for awhile, and am very pleased with the outstanding service I have received at this office.

I was referred by other dentist as I had curved roots for root canal my case was little complicated as I was told by other dentist when I came to see dr Sharma she was very proffesional and very reasonable in charges and she explained me step by step procedure that helped a lot ,I was amazed when she gave me shot I had no pain I don,t like dentist a lot but dr Sharma is a keeper she is best in what she does .staff was very helpful I will refer my friends and family .

I went in for a cleaning as usual yesterday, and the hygienist did a fine job once again. Then, as usual, Indu took the chair to check my teeth — and found a tiny spot cavity developing at the gum line! I felt the slight pull of her instrument as it hooked into it. She took a clear picture of it for me to see. Then she told me that I could come back to get it filled, or have it done right there and now, because she finished early with her last patient. About 20 or so minutes later, I was out of there, after the fastest, most stress-free and caring filling session I ever had! It was extraordinary! I’ve been with Berkeley Family Dental for about a decade, I’m guessing. And yes, in the beginning, it was disorganized, but these days it has evolved into an incredible dental practice! Thank you, Indu and all your helpers!

I’ve been visiting to Dr. Sharma’s office since 2012, after I failed to find a professional, skillful, competitive and honest dental office for longtime. Dr. Sharma’s staffs are very helpful with my appointments, finance and understanding my treatments. The front office staff (Lisa) is very handy in putting my appoints (even in very short period) and she never forgets to send reminders before 24 hours of my appoints. My dental health was in a mess before I consulted Dr. Sharma. I must thank Dr. Sharma for taking a good care of my tooth, and keeping them healthy. Glad I’m found her and would definitely recommend her.

After around 4 years since my last dental visit, Dr. Sharma only described one cavity that needed filling, and otherwise her description of my teeth (including some periodontal problems) matched about what I would expect based on previous dental visits. This is a good sign in terms of her not recommending unnecessary dental work, which is the main thing I worry about when it comes to dentists. Equipment was up-to-date and insurance was handled very expeditiously, and they successfully moved my appointment at almost the last minute to accommodate both an exam and a cleaning.

I love my dentist! I have been to many dentists in my life, and Dr. Sharma is the best of them all (with apologies to my cousin). She greets me with a warm smile, and has great technique administering novocaine. She is considerate and careful, and she recently did a wonderful job on porcelain veneers for my lower front teeth. They look and feel great. I have complete confidence in her, trust her 100 percent, and recommend her to all my friends.

Dr Sharma is gentle, genuine and personable, I got a few fillings and a bridge done with her and she made me feel safe in her hands. i tend to cringe when i think of a dentist, but she was very gentle through the whole procedure. I am very happy with her service and will be going back to her for more work next year. I highly recommend Dr.Sharma.

Let’s be real, as a college student I hate having people look over how I’m doing health-wise, let alone have a dentist look at my teeth and automatically know that the amount of coffee I’ve been drinking has begun to effect me negatively. But Dr. Sharma was outstanding. First of all, her staff was friendly and jovial. I walk in and five minutes later the front desk lady was cracking jokes with me. After a quick check-up by one of her assistants, who was extremely gentle when examining my mouth, I was finally introduced to Dr. Sharma. She was so professional and easy to talk to. We talked about maintaining good dental hygiene even with the hectic college life and she even gave me some tips on how to do so. I only needed a cleaning this time around, but I know for sure that if I need anything else I will definitely go back to her. I was extremely satisfied with the service at Berkeley Family Dental, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for attentive, gentle, and professional dental care.

Still a very happy customer after almost one year. The staff is superb. When you enter Dr. Sharma’s office I am always greeted warmly with a great big smile by the receptionist Natasha. Sadly, Dr. Sharma is not a “preferred provider” on my current dental insurance plan. I choose to pay extra out-of-pocket because I like the service I get here and don’t want to switch dentists. This is the only dental office I’ve been to that is on-time with appointments and don’t keep you waiting. The office is clean and uses state-of-the-art equipment. The hygienist is always friendly (even when it’s obvious I don’t floss as much as I should) and they give constructive suggestions on how I could improve my oral health and hygiene. I’ve never felt like they were up-selling products or services. They’re merely suggestions, and they don’t care if you buy stuff from them or from Amazon or Target or nowhere at all. Everyone in this office is the best at what they do. You couldn’t ask for anyone to take better care of your teeth and gums. Healthy gums don’t bleed. I had bleeding gums for my entire life until I changed to this dental office. My hygienist Michelle treated my gum disease and coached me in improving my home routine until my gum disease was in remission. NO more bleeding gums! These guys are the best! If you are looking for a fantastic dental office, I highly recommend this one.

This was written on 1/24/18 with a 1 STAR rating I’ve been a patient here for 6 years without complaints. However on my visit this week on Monday 1/22/18 my hygienist was constantly coughing, Asking her if she had cold she replied “I have a cough” Well now so do I and its kept me up all night and I feel terrible having contracted her cold. I emailed Dr Sharma a few times & her response was that she wasn’t aware that her hygienist was ill. I told her that it’s her responsibility to make sure that her staff are not actively symptomatic when treating… gloves and masks non withstanding. I have asked for a refund for that day… a paltry $60. I am waiting for a response. As a retired oncology RN I’m shocked that protocols aren’t in place to protect patients on such a basic level. I will update this if I get a response from Dr Sharma This was added on Friday 1/26/10 at 4:30pm (no response yet) Dr Sharma I think enough time has elapsed for me to assume that you are uninterested in discussing this. That’s unfortunate. It so easily may have turned into a positive for you if at least you had engaged in some sort of dialogue. Instead you choose to ignore my legitimate concerns or address my suggestions. I am still feeling sick with a relentless hacking cough and the undisputed fact that your hygienist treated me coughing through the entire visit. What you have accomplished (unless you choose to discuss this with me) is losing me as client. Please be advised: I will also be filing a complaint with the California State Dental Board. She was extremely concerned about my illness & immediately offered to refund my copay for the visit. Finding a good dentist in not easy. I have been through the cycles a few times dealing with unethical and unprofessional dentists who are concerned more about their pockets then you long term dental health. I have been misguided a few times so it was wonderful to find someone who explains the process with full disclosure and gives you the liberty to make the best decision for you. Dr. Sharma is very professional and thorough with her work. The staff is kind and very helpful through the process. We are glad to finally find a dentist that we can trust.

I first saw Dr. Sharma when I was in serious pain. I’d seen another dentist who told me to come back if the pain got worse. I somehow didn’t trust him. So I looked on Yelp for a dentist, and Dr. Sharma came highly recommended. She immediately diagnosed that I had damage to a tooth, and I needed a root canal right away. It was a complex procedure and she had an endodontist do it, and her office got me in to the endodontist the same day. Dr. Sharma followed up with me, and also filled three cavities I had that the first dentist had overlooked. Her manner was gentle, and she explained what she was going to do before she did it, so I felt at ease. She’s very friendly and caring. I’m glad I see her regularly now.
