One of the top dentists in Beverly Hills referred me to Dr. Markzar as the best periodontist. I already had 2 gum grafts elsewhere and the experience left me avoiding another one for the last few years. So, after much hesitation I finally had the grafting yesterday and I’m astounded at the results. Barely any bleeding, no bruising, and a very slight amount of swelling. The graft area on my palette and gums is so meticulously stitched, I can barely see where the surgical site is. I remember feeling like a bit of a Frankenstein before, but this time with Dr. Markzar I feel like I haven’t even had a grafting! Bizarrely wonderful!! He uses a stent, that looks like an Invisalign, but that covers over your soft palette so your incision site is protected. So comfortable and makes you forget that you just had surgery. My last tip would be to take advantage of Xanax…I didn’t take it my first 2 times and I was somewhat traumatized from hearing the Dr. scraping at my palette. The Xanax totally knocked me out and once home (with a driver) I slept the whole night through. Anyway, I will go have my 4th graft with him without any hesitation. Big love to this doctor for being so good at his profession. Update: So the second day I did start to bruise a bit, maybe a 1 inch square area, seriously not a big deal.

Best doctor experience (of any kind) I’ve had in LA hands down. My 2 graft/allograft procedures were essentially painless, recovery was smooth, and results have been great so far. Dr. Markzar is very smart and kind and does an excellent job answering questions and explaining procedures beforehand, as well as creating stellar results. Janniah & Katherine at the front desk are very helpful and thoughtful both before and after procedures; I received prompt follow ups a few days after each of my procedures where they asked how everything was going and eased any concerns. All hygienists in the office are also fantastic. Very nice and professional, and also did a great job answering any and all questions and thoroughly explaining post-opp procedure. Overall, very positive experience and would highly recommend Dr. Markzar’s office!

Can not stop praising Dr. Sam Markzar. He has saved my tooth that 2 other dentists recommended extraction. He is not afraid to take extra steps to save your teeth. He is there to serve and save you. He is G-d given gift to us. I recommend him highly to those who are looking for a conscientious dentist.

Dr Markzar is one of the most gifted, educated, competent, caring and compassionate dentists as well as health care professionals that I have ever known. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of experience in the medical field and I have never known anyone like Dr Markzar. I am just amazed by his attention to detail, gentle approach and the utmost care that he puts into each and every procedure. I was originally referred to him by a general dentist from Orange County because I had a very complex dental implant case. At first I complained a lot about the long commute from Irvine, CA, which can take any where from 3 to 4 hours round trip depending on the traffic. But now that I know Dr Markzar work and his standard of practice, I am glad to do the commute, and won’t go to anyone else but him.

I was referred to Dr. Markzar for something called a “crown lengthening.” All I knew was that it involved “oral surgery” which, I can assure you, is NOT on my bucket list. Plus, it was going to put a serious dent on my credit card. But, my primary dentist was insistent so I called. The desk personnel could not have been more helpful–they actually assisted me in getting dental insurance that, when it was all done, cut my out-of-pocket costs by 75%! Dr. Markzar himself immediately put me at ease with his air of quiet professionalism… I could instinctively tell that he really knew his craft. Prior to my surgery, I was given an info sheet on what to do and things to keep an eye on after the procedure. It seemed to be a daunting list. So, I came in for the procedure, resigned to a few days of pain. First of all, the initial injections of local anesthetic were undetectable… he numbed my gum with some kind of topical anesthetic… didn’t feel a thing when he gave the actual injections. He and his assistant worked like the pros they are, quickly and efficiently. It took about an hour, and it was done. I was thinking “Hope I get home before the drugs wear off.” Wouldn’t have mattered–I had absolutely no pain whatsoever, even though there were numerous stitches involved. This guy is an artist… I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat. On top of that, both Dr. Markzar and his staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They even helped to find free parking. Great resource if you need any kind of serious dental work.

I was referred to Dr. Markzar by my general dentist for a consultation for a dental implant. I lost a tooth in a minor accident I had a few months back and my dentist thought a dental implant would be best for replacing the tooth. I was really worried about the procedure since it would involve surgery and all. I was a little skeptical about Dr. Markzar when I read the reviews here, but my general dentist assured me he was good, so I though I give him a try. He turned out to be really good at chairside manner, explained the whole procedure to me, showed me the picture he took of my tooth with his fancy imaging equipment and put me at ease about the treatment. I had the first surgery to inset the root about 3 months ago, and when I went in for a followup 2 weeks ago he told me I was ready to have the implant restored (meaning put a crown on it), which we did last week. Even I can’t tell that this one tooth is fake and not real. I am really satisfied with Dr. Markzar, his attitude towards his patients, his skills and services.

Dr. Markzar is a very caring and an absolute expert in Dental Implants. He takes his time to explain the Procedures in their depth and in intricate details! So, when you go to him you, one can be sure that neither him nor his Office has turned into a Commercial Practice….He’s been my go to Specialist for years as I’ve had fabulous results!!!

Dr Markzar is in the category of an elite grouping of dental professional’s. He is extremely knowledgable/detailed in all forms of dentistry along with a very soft caring demeanor that puts one at ease. He extracted a molar, put in the implant and crown on top of recommended how to heal another problematic crown. The office staff goes beyond all levels of professionalism from helping one deal with insurance through medications and future appointments.

As always, had a wonderful experience with Dr. Markzar, as wonderful an experience you can have at a dentist office. He’s always very gentle and explains all procedures until you understand exactly what you are about to have done. If you need a Periodontal specialist, I highly recommend this office and his wonderful staff.

After years of trying to find a good dentist as well as a hygienist I finally found Dr. Sam Markzar. Not only is he the sweetest caring and talented dentist I have ever come across, his staff welcomes you with the warmest greeting. Dr. Markzar is so talented and has skills that are very hard to find. I was always afraid of getting cleanings because of the horrible experiences I have had, but after experiencing a cleaning with hygienist Princess I knew I was in good hands. She is very gentle, caring, and does a very thorough job. It was an absolute pleasure and I almost even fell asleep in her chair. Any questions or concerns I had, the staff was always ready to help and gave me clear detailed answers. Trust me when I say you will not regret going to this dental office and experiencing great quality care.

Dr.  Markzar is the best!  He is very personable, does quality work in a clean environment and never tries to force unnecessary procedures.  His staff is professional and courteous.  I enjoy being able to receive text reminders about my medicine, appointment and traffic alerts.  First class operation.  Parking can be tricky so make sure to park down the block in the city structure (2 hrs for free), short walk passing a Starbucks for on the way back

Needed to have surgery to address my receding gum line, was incredibly happy w the results from Dr Markzar. Scheduling was smooth, the procedure was straightforward and took exactly as long as they predicted. Was surprised at how little pain was involved in the recovery, will be planning to return to address another area of my gums that need work.

Dr. Markzar and his staff are great professionals. I never had a problem changing my appointments or contacting them for whatever needs. I have been a client for a long time and I have even consider finding a new dentist closer to home but their service and care is THAT superb — it makes it hard to change. Their staff is understanding of my long drive so they know to accommodate and set my appointment times during non-traffic hours. Also, it is tough to find a more calm, cool cat like Dr. Markzar. Even when there are things that go haywire, like the 3rd party lab screwing up an order or something, I have experienced that Dr. Markzar does not lose his cool. That’s the kind of dentist you want operating on you, especially with drills and pointing objects in your mouth.

Dr Markzhar has been my periodontist for over 15 years. I have the utmost confidence in him and have referred close friends and family to him. I appreciate his communication and thorough explanation of treatment plans, and he has the least invasive and most gentle technique. I will continue to refer to him and trust my British messed up teeth in his hands.

The best medical professional of any kind I have ever encountered. Dr. Markzar is very thorough in explaining everything and makes sure you understand. You never feel like he is rushed. He takes all the time that is needed. He explained everything so well, I almost thought I could perform the procedure myself! (; He’s also a perfectionist. Everything he does is done right. The best office staff ever. Seriously, they are great. They fought for me to get my insurance company to pony up for their part of the procedure. While other offices would have given up, they didn’t and finally got them to pay. This place is the best of the best. If I could only give 5 stars to one place, this is the place I’d choose. They are that good! No one put me up to writing this review. I would not believe the negative reviews at all. You’ll see for yourself what a professionally run operation this is. Case in point. I was so impressed with Dr. Markzar that I wanted him to put in the crown after the implant. He didn’t want to step on my regular dentist’s toes, so he very politely refused. The crowns are the easy money in dentistry, and he passed on it and chose professional courtesy and ethics instead.
