I came across Dr. Gilbert’s business card at Marymoor dog park of all places. When it comes to dentists they all look the same (Sorry Dr. Gilbert) but I must say that Chance (Beautiful most friendly golden retriever) was the one who sold me posed on the card next to Dr. Gilbert… as well as the statement on the top of the card “Anxiety-Free Family Dentistry”. Going in I was still nervous but felt a little more at ease because strangely I did feel like family member already and I hadn’t had any work done yet. Dr. Gilbert’s office was a clean and welcoming environment. From the front desk administrator to the dental tech’s to Dr. Gilbert I felt like I was in good hands. The x-rays were a shocker because I DIDN’T end up with cuts and slashes in my mouth from the plastic pieces that need to fit in there, it was a very easy process. The exam seemed to go smooth and I felt at ease and the cleaning was just as pleasant. I do need to have some work done and that is coming up here in a few weeks but I’m not as terrified as I was before. I am looking forward to seeing the friendly staff again and having my dental needs taking care of. If you have any dental anxiety like I do I would highly recommend this place, and if you are a dog lover even more! Thanks Dr. Gilbert and team!

I was referred here by a friend, and I ended up having the best dentist experiences of my life here. Dr. Gilbert was super nice and understanding. You know how most dentists make you feel guilty if there’s anything wrong with your teeth? He was wonderful, and in fact all of his staff were the same way. I came away really pleased with the entire visit and my teeth! They’ve got a really chill golden retriever who hangs out in the walkway. If you call him over, he’ll come by and “hold your hand” during your dental procedure. Mostly he just lays in the hallway. It’s adorable. This place is definitely the best place to go if you have any anxiety at all about seeing the dentist. And who doesn’t, really?

The thing about Dr. Gilbert is he’s got an eye for detail. He wants his work to look good, because in dentistry, looking good seems to go hand in hand with performing well. He takes the time to do these steps that I didn’t even know about, and the end result is a higher quality product. I’m currently located near his office, but I would travel to go to his clinic.

I and my family have been Dr. Gilbert patients for 20+ years, and every single appointment we had was an exceptional experience. Doctor Gilbert skills, expertise and patience makes you feel relaxed and confident that you are in good hands. The preventive treatments he prescribed and regular check-up have helped us keep a healthy mouth. I had very complex implant procedures done under his care and with his recommendations to experts in the area, as well as crowns and bridges done in Dr Gilbert’s office and all continue to feel good and function great after all these years. The entire office staff is always welcoming, gentle, professional and accommodating. And let me not forget the service dogs, Chase before and Chance currently, hard working at making you relax and smile. I am very grateful to Dr Gilbert for his work in keeping us healthy, thank you! I highly recommend Dr Gilbert and his staff.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Gilbert as long as he has been performing dentistry in the Over lake area.  We are very pleased with the staff and the service they provide.  The have the latest equipment and provide excellent care.  If for some reason something comes up, they are very accommodating in making adjustments to our appointments.

A friend recommended Dr. Gilbert when I was new to the area. Dr. Gilbert and his clinical staff are accomplished in their fields of expertise, gentle and friendly. For those with a dental phobia, Chance, a registered Pet Partner golden retriever, will help calm those fears. The office is conveniently located with easy parking. It is nicely decorated, clean and organized – always on time! Dr. Gilbert was recommended to me and I do not hesitate to recommend him to you.

Dr Gilbert was recommended by my Physician about 10 years ago and I was happy with him and his practice from day one. I even left for 5 years and as soon as I came back I signed up with Dr Gilbert again. He has a soft touch as does his staff and he is the most thorough dentist I’ve ever had. I feel confident when I leave Dr Gilbert’s office that I have had top notch care with everything that could be seen to, taken care of.

Not many people can say they love going to the dentist, but Dr. Gilbert’s office makes you reconsider this idea. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by an array of friendly and helpful people. They are very good with sending out reminders of appointments beforehand and running on schedule, meaning you rarely have to wait when you get there. Whether you have anxiety about the dentist or not, Chance (the therapy dog) is a reassuring and lovable presence. Dr. Gilbert seems very knowledgeable and always makes sure you know what he is doing in your mouth before he does it.

Before going to see Dr. Gilbert, I didn’t know a visit to the dentist could be anxiety-free. I was referred by a friend and it’s been the best referral of any type. Dr. Gilbert’s staff is competent and consistently warm and welcoming! They are always patient with me, answering my questions. (I’m one of those people, asking why this and what’s that.) Dr. Gilbert himself is so knowledgeable, it’s obvious he truly cares about what he does. And of course, Chance the Golden Retriever is a sweet addition to the office and a wonderful way to relax if you are feeling any tension. In one of my first visits to his office, he evaluated a problem crown that I’d had for several years, which was installed by another dentist. He explained what he would have done differently and why, and how he planned to fix it. The procedure itself was remarkably low-impact with Dr. Gilbert. I was actually dreading the entire procedure because of my experience with the previous dentist. The “temporary crown” from the other dentist was stainless steel, though it felt like aluminum foil. It wasn’t properly adhered to my tooth so it popped off within a day or two. It was flimsy and maintained no structural integrity, leaving my nerve exposed and me in excruciating pain if the area ever made contact with hot, cold, pressure, or just air sucked in too quickly. This continued the entire time until the final crown was placed. At my appointment with Dr. GIlbert to replace the crown, he ensured I was adequately numb before beginning and kept checking with me throughout. The temporary crown was fantastic–I could have sworn it was the permanent. The time between appointments was short and each part of the appointment went smoothly. My crown is now better than the previous version and going strong for several years. I have had the same top-notch experience every time I’ve gone to Dr. GIlbert, whether for a crown or a routine cleaning. He also referred me to an amazing endodontist who I’ve had the (mis?)fortune of visiting twice for root canals. (Which were also entirely painless, minus the initial shots of anesthetic. They are, after all, removing the nerves, so you don’t even have real soreness afterward!) TL;DR–Dr. Gilbert and his staff are PHENOMENAL at their jobs and I think you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone better.

I have been a patient for 23 years. Never a bad experience with Dr. Gilbert. I have had caps, porcelain, fillings…… and he basically maintains my teeth. I would totally recommend his office. His staff is great and they really do care about you. Before I found him, I had three dentists that provided very poor quality work.

I’ve been a patient for the last 15 years or so and Dr. Gilbert is the best dentist I’ve seen in 50+ years! He makes sure everyone in his practice is similarly skilled and welcoming. I have every confidence in his advice and treatment, and he always backs up his recommendations with research and with second opinions as required. He enjoys his profession, is proud of his work and ensures you are happy with your planned treatment and with the outcome.

Dr. Gilbert is the best dentist out there! He genuinely has your best interest in mind and is an expert at what he does. A perfectionist, Dr. Gilbert will listen to your concerns and get things done right every time. His office staff makes my visit all the better – friendly, considerate and conversational. I enjoy every visit knowing I’m in good hands with Dr. Gilbert!

I look forward to my dental visits, (Dr Gilbert, his younger brother and I were all in grade school together, and later earned and received our Eagle Scout Awards together) Bill has always been very very bright, with a very warm heart. Evidenced by Chase, his happy go lucky office sweetheart. (Dogs truly do reflect their owners) Over the years I had been to a few different dentists, but once I re-established our childhood friendship, I wasn’t surprised with his level of passion and skills. I highly recommend Dr Gilbert and his staff. God Bless Glynn Hewitt.

Dr Gilbert has been my dentist for over 15 years. I hated every dentist I had seen prior to coming to Dr Gilbert at the reccomendation of a friend and coworker. While I still hate going to the dentist, Dr Gilbert always takes his time with me and makes sure I am as comfortable and relaxed as possible and for that, thank you. Never retire. -Ian

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Been seeing Dr Gilbert for almost 20 years. Each experience has been great. Dr Gilbert is very skilled at his profession. My recovery time for even major work, such as crown work has been quick and painless. His knowledge of the nervous system allows him to target only the necessary nerves for quick and effective anesthesia. I highly recommend Dr Gilbert and his staff.

I could not have asked for a better dentist and team. Dr. Gilbert is a kind and caring man who is helping me make sure that my teeth get the care they need. He has brought together a team of people who are just as compassionate and understanding as he is. I cannot recommend him more highly than I already do. If you’re anxious about dental work, this is the place to go. Top quality dental treatments and a staff that truly understands how much anxiety & fear people have about dental care and who will work with you and walk you through every step.

My wife has been a patient her entire life and introduced me to Dr. Gilbert and his staff as a possible dental home for me here in Washington. Having not seen a dentist for far too long I have been blown away by the attention, care, good humor, and lack of shaming that has been present at every appointment. Chance the therapy dog calms my nerves, I look forward to my appointments thanks to my furry friend, and the ever positive vibe in the office. Dr. Gilbert has been tinkering with teeth for 30 years and he remains on the cutting edge, and will provide his professional opinion with candor and concern. I LOVE my dentist.

One of the most kind and professional dentist you will meet! This man takes his time when he works his craft! He is a teeth artist! I just had the privilege of getting my teeth worked by him and I’m super impressed with how thorough he is! He is gentle with his hand and you can tell he really enjoys his work! Recently he also helped fix 8 teeth my sister damaged from a fall! He created magic with how he worked her sore mouth. I have also witnessed work he has done for my friends and was super impressed which is why this man has my business! My most favorite thing though has to be his office mascot! I love love love Chance! He makes dentist visits fun! Go meet him, he is the best golden retriever you will meet! An office with a great team and a sweet dog, what’s there not to love.

Dr. Gilbert is amazing. When I first starting going to him I had a bit of a fear of going to the dentist. Knowing that I needed care I was recommended to go see him. He listened to my concerns and made me feel at ease. I have been going to him for about 7 years now. I also love that he has a comfort dog in the office as well. I actually look forward to going to the dentist now. If you are looking for a great dentist who will actually care about you and listen to any concerns or fears you have, Dr. Gilbert is the one you need

My wife and I were changing dentists in search for a better one until we found Dr Gilbert about 10 years ago and we are very happy since then. He is extremely careful to provide positive, painless experience for patients – making sure you don’t have any unpleasant feelings during and after the procedures is one of his top priorities. While a bit on preventive side (“let crown this tooth next, it may crack easily”), he never pushed us to do something we would think as unnecessary, which we saw sometimes with others. The office team works like a clock, always with a smile, extremely friendly. Dr Gilbert is very open and direct, takes time to fully answer questions and explain what is he doing and how, and what are the options. I appreciate Dr Gilbert’s great level of attention to detail and pride he takes in doing his work well with exceptional quality that I can understand and feel. He doesn’t do everything and refers you to a specialist for things like root canal etc, and those referrals so far were very good as well. Also, apparently he’s not a cheapest around (I know some doctors who work for what insurance pays, not taking anything else from the patients) but in case of dental services, I’m definitely glad to pay a bit more for excellent quality that doesn’t need to be re-done in a few years… Overall, Dr Gilbert was the first dentist we found who we could trust to without second-guessing and we recommend him to everybody who’s looking for one.

I noticed very quickly that Dr. Gilbert has high standards, and one of the things he really cares about is how his work looks. That makes enough sense. The thing I recently realized is that he seems to care about how it looks because dental work that looks good probably performs well. Here’s an example: in getting a crown, he (and his team) fussed over a detail of crown fitting that I didn’t even know existed. When I asked about it, I learned that this step helps a crown to fit into the gumline, a detail that might be harder to achieve, but it will help to prevent future decay. I’m really happy with the quality of work that I get at this office.

Great family dentist. My family has seen him for 19 years. Dr. Gilbert came in on a Sunday morning to fix my son’s front teeth which were chipped due to a slip. Excellent work and excellent interactions with my son. Thank you so much!

Hard to imagine, but I’ve been seeing Dr. Gilbert for over ten years now! He has done my cleanings, cavities/fillings, crowns, and teeth whiting, and I’m sure there are other things I’m missing! He is so great and caring, and I’ve been known to even fall asleep while getting my teeth worked on! Can’t forget to mention his awesome staff! Check them out!

I recently transferred dental care for my children (ages 6 and 7) and myself to Dr. Gilbert. The office staff is very kind and helpful. The hygienists do a great job and are friendly. Dr. Gilbert is thorough and patient. I found the experience to be stress-free and painless. Easy to schedule appointments and the receptionist takes care of all the billing details. My daughter had to have her first three cavities filled, and each time panicked before the appointment. Dr. Gilbert and his staff were exceptionally patient and gently explained what would happen. Rather than resorting to a general anesthetic (as had been recommended by a prior dentist) he spent time reassuring her and even allowed her to leave the first appointment without having work done – he wanted her to have a positive experience there and sat with her for nearly an hour before deciding to postpone. The next time we came, he was patient and calm and finally she allowed him to do the fillings. It was pain-free and quick. The dog is sweet and very soothing for the kids. I appreciate that their focus is on lifelong healthy dental habits and good experiences at the dentist in order to avoid problems in the future. Highly recommend this practice.

Me and my family are coming to Dr. Gilbert office for many-many years. We always had great experiences and services whatever it’s just a cleaning – check up or treatment. My daughter was going to get a filling replaced by another dentist, and became so agitated and frightened about the Novocaine shot that the dentist couldn’t continue. That dentist recommended sedation. Instead I visited Dr. Gilbert, who was able to talk her into sitting still for a practice shot, and we came back another day and got the filling done. Very pleased with Dr. Gilbert and his staff, including Chance the dog. He kept my 9yo from having the unnecessary risk of sedation for a minor procedure, and set her up for better dental experiences in the future.

My boyfriend recommended this office to me when I was seeking a new dentist after moving down from Everett. My first appointment was today and I couldn’t be more impressed. The staff were very kind, thorough, and professional. I don’t feel left in the dark about anything, as I often do with health professionals. The staff includes a sweet golden retriever, who is a lovely nosy little boy. I’m almost excited for my next appointment.

I have been seeing Dr Gilbert for over 12 years. His professionalism, warm demeanor & his therapy dogs are what keep me coming back every 6mos! Hhis dogs Chase & Chaz have long since crossed the Rainbow Bridge & in the office now is Chance! All 3 of them have helped hundreds of people calm their fears or anxieties when having dental work, like me! I take comfort knowing Chance will be there to rest his head on my lap while Dr. Gilbert does his magic. And Dr. Gilbert frequently checks in with me, making sure I’m comfortable, asking if I need a break or anything to make my visit as pain free as possible. If you’re looking for a new dentist, look no further!

Dr. Gilbert was very gentle and respectful of my fears. Chance was more than happy to be at my side to help ease my concerns. Dr. Gilbert was also teaching future dental professionals and his instruction with them was wonderful to listen to. Think I learned a few things myself! The staff is very friendly and we enjoyed quite a few giggles.

I have been a patient of Dr. GILBERT for over a decade. He is gentle and caring dentist. For years, he has brought his trained dog(s) to the office to help nervous patients including kids. Chase is the current comfort dog. He recognizes patients and loves to be petted. His office and dental staff are friendly and helpful. Great environment.

A WORD FROM YOUR DOCTOR

For patients who fear going to the dentist, the caring attention of Dr. Gilbert is a breath of fresh air. He and his staff work hard to create a warm, welcoming environment, where people actually look forward to their dental care. “I always wanted to be the dentist that patients felt safe, comfortable, and not judged by.” says Dr. Gilbert. “I focus on building trust to reduce anxieties and fear in the dental office. “I made a conscious decision when I opened my office to be a smaller patient focused dental practice,” says Dr. Gilbert. In this environment we have the time to truly get to know our patients and making those connections helps our patients to feel more comfortable. Besides comfort dentistry, Dr. Gilbert offers patients the most current procedures and dental technologies for general and cosmetic treatments. He focuses on knowing his patients well and using that knowledge to help them be more comfortable during visits, choosing the right procedures for their needs. He also works with patients to help them learn how to prevent dental problems before they start. Dr. Gilbert received his Bachelor of Science in molecular biology from the University of Colorado and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Emory University School of Dentistry. He has served as an instructor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. He strives to better his practice through ongoing education and training, both for himself and for his staff. Most recently, he took continuing dental education courses at the Pankey Institute and through the Frank Spear and Kois Center continuum series. When he’s not fighting off tooth decay or gum disease, you’re likely to find Dr. Gilbert enjoying the great outdoors with his two sons. He’s passionate about fly fishing, hiking, mountain climbing, and bird watching! One thing you may not know about him? He’s a self-certified Netflix and Amazon Prime junkie. If he’s not out fishing, he’ll probably be binge-watching something!
