Went in today to get a routine cleaning and consultation for braces with Dr. Abernathy. This is the first time that I have ever been in with a doctor that did everything, including the x-rays and cleaning. Normally the dental assistant does everything and I see the doctor for all of five minutes. Dr. Abernathy was very thorough and explained everything in detail. She listed all my options for the work I needed done and I didn’t feel like she was trying to encourage me to get unneeded procedures. The clerk, Kayla, was also very polite and professional. Highly recommend the office!

From the moment I stepped in, I felt a calming atmosphere. The staff was very nice and friendly. The dental hygienist who took care of me was pleasant and gentle, a absolute sweetheart. I was afraid of going to the dentist before and I have bad experiences in the past but I actually enjoyed the visit this time. I met Dr. Abernathy and her staff is a reflection of her. Dr. Abernathy and Ally (the front desk receptionist) have been nothing but a pleasure to work with. I was met with guidance for coverage & costs upon my scheduled appointments. They have worked tirelessly with me to ensure I am receiving all insurance information as transparent as possible and have also worked with me to accommodate my schedule as I travel in for my visits. This is an office that truly cares about it’s patients. Highly recommended for those who hate the dentist. I’ve never felt more comfortable!

I have been seeing Dr. Abernathy for about two years now. She has a fun personality and is very good at what she does. I’ve had multiple routine procedures done and always felt comfortable, especially with the neck pillows they provide and the large TVs at each patient’s chair that stream music or anything on Netflix. Her staff is wonderful. Tia at the front desk is a sweetheart. I absolutely hate going to the dentist but somehow don’t dread it as much going to her. She is located right in Midtown East in a nice elevator apartment building.

The staff is at Dr Abernathy is caring and Dr Abernathy did and excellent job. I was extremely please with her professionalism and the results and at that moment I knew I was going to be a regular client. The second visit included a teeth cleaning performed by the dental hygienist, everything went smoothly and the results were just as great as with Dr. Abernathy. Although there was a clerical error made at Dr. Abernathy office when they attempted to bill my medical insurance after I paid cash, knowingly as I had stated” I no longer had medical insurance due to lack of employment”. Dr Abernathy reached out to me personally, explain the clerical error and I feel confident it was not an attempt to defraud the insurance company. I will continue to be a client. And I am glad that Dr. Abernathy reached out to me personally, as it shows her professionalism.

Dr Angela really is as good as everyone says. I’ve been going to see her for almost a year now on a few different occasions and she has been consistently on point. She and her staff are sweet and understanding. They give you these cute purple shades during cleaning and Noise canceling headphones during more noisy operations and they also throw in one of those cozy neck roll pillows. They are concerned with your comfort as well as the health of your teeth /gums! The staff has been consistently friendly and helpful– they always go the extra mile in educating me about overall dental hygiene and health. In addition, I never have to wait on an appointment. I’m typically seen as soon as I walk in. No double booking here ! Overall , I’m glad I’ve found a dentist who is great at what she does but also has the warm personality to boot. I highly recommend her !

You’d Be Crazy To Go Anywhere Else (For bullet points, see bottom) You cannot beat Dr. Abernathy and the staff at 141 dental. I had a very positive experience and plan to make 141 Dental my go-to. Everyone was knowledgeable and courteous, the office was clean and easy to get to, and I REALLY loved that they sent me forms in advance so I didn’t have to fill them out by hand. I also loved that they were able to see me on short notice for a dental emergency. Her receptionist was polite and was able to verify my insurance coverage and copayment prior to my appointment. I also have never sat on hold and my voicemails have always been returned promptly I specifically went in with jaw pain that ended up being due to an impacted wisdom tooth. The pain was so severe I could barely open my mouth and I’m glad no other patients were around (I had a late, end of day appointment) since I probably sounded like a toddler when she was working to get the Xray. Yet Dr. Abernathy was absolutely amazing; She was patient and gentle with me and was able to efficiently and accurately diagnose and treat the issue as well as refer an amazing oral surgeon for the extraction. She immediately sent my prescription in to Capsule (also recommend) and I had it the same day. And to top it all off, I got an unexpected but welcome courtesy follow-up call checking in on how I was. Also worth noting, I have lived in 5 different cities and have had many dentists. They all pale in comparison, think “used to see in gray and she gave me a rainbow”. Tl;Dr • Accepts Many Insurances • Kind, patient, intelligent doctor • Knowledgeable and helpful staff • Location near main train and bus lines/easy to get to • Up-to-date equipment • Clean Location • Considerate of busy work schedules • Courtesy Follow-Up Calls I truly had an amazing experience, will be coming back, and have already referred friends of mine. Frankly, You’d be crazy not to go here. Just hurry before she’s booked solid. I am surprised there aren’t more reviews here but not surprised she has a solid 5 stars.

As I entered the office I was impressed with cleanliness and presentation of the office. It seems as though it would be a dental office on TV. Ok Ok… Here is the deal. for several years I have been looking to get a crown replaced that displayed noticeable damage. Dr. Abernathy replaced the crown in two easy appointmetns with a porcelain one. Not only did it get rid of the unsightly concrete molding it also blended in with the slight receding in my gum line. Her office was clean and professional and her equipments was technologically advanced. Her injection of novacaine was actually comfortable and I barely felt a pinch. I was really impressed with how clean she was with the instruments. Now I will tell you parking is a pain, especially coming from NJ. Next time I will just catch the train and walk. Looking forward to another cleaning by. Dr. Abernathy in 6 months.

Dr Abernathy is a rare healthcare professional who actually cares about her patients. I’ve been coming to her for almost 6 years. She is kind, compassionate and a wonderful dentist. The rest of the staff in the studio is equally kind and compassionate. The studio is always clean, and you can almost always get an emergency appointment if you need one. Saturday appointments are offered for most of the year which is helpful. You can also watch Netflix during your appointment! Insurance and payment is always explained in detail prior to you leaving so there are no surprises. I love the team at 141 Dental Studio

I saw Dr. Abernathy being interviewed on the news and was immediately interested by her story! I had been looking for a new dentist for sometime. Now I know why I waited. Since the Pandemic, I have become more conscious of supporting businesses run by women and especially women of color! I will not abandon my other providers, but going forward…I am more conscious! The office is easy to get to from Brooklyn. Close enough to public transportation. The office staff is diverse and professional. Dr. Abernathy is welcoming and not pretentious. Joan the hygienist has great chair-side manner. The service was great. I am looking forward to future visits and preparing for my “post-COVID” smile, sans my mask!

If I could give them 6 stars I would. I’m in my 20s, but already have a lots of fillings in my mouth, thanks to genetic. Because of my experience with dentists I learned the hard way that you really have to choose the right doctor. It’s like wearing a good quality expensive shirt for 10 years, rather then buy a shirt for $5 and throw it away after the first wash. I’ve been to the best doctors in Manhattan, but when I stepped into 141 Dental Studio, P.C. office, I felt that I’m in the right hands right away. The office was very clean and nice. I came there for a regular check up and cleaning. Lori, my hygienist, invited me to sit and before starting her job, she asked me some questions, that I have never heard even in the most fancy offices. I don’t remember all of them, but the ones that I found interesting are: Would you like to know every even minor detail about what I’m going to do during the procedure or You would like to listen the music and skip the conversation at all (by the way the music in the office was great); what is your priority: 1. Health of my teeth 2. How they look and fit in your mouth 3. Longevity of your teethe 4. I don’t remember. That were really nice questions and I thought about the last one even after I left the office. I’m a person who asks tones of questions, and Lori was very patient with me and detailed. She taught me a new flossing technique that I didn’t know about, and explained how I can prevent the cavities. I was thrilled with her work. At home, when I was flossing my teeth before bed I felt like there is more space between them and they felt crispy clean. I also used a new floss and mouthwash that the doctor gave me in the office and now I’m using it all the time, because it’s really good and make flossing much easier and faster. After the cleaning doctor Angela P. came for the check up. I was impressed by their digital x-rays (coupled with a lead apron), which emit the lowest amount of radiation and are very safe for the patient and The CariVu device (zero-radiation option to detect cavities and fractures in teeth). I can tell doctor Angela is VERY knowledgeable and honest. She didn’t try to force me to renew my old fillings, like most dentists would do to get more money out of your pocket (remember, I learned it the hard way) and she was very thorough. I would definitely come back to her office if I need a dental procedure.

Upon entering the reception area I was greeted by the very nice receptionist. He was expecting me and emailed the documents for me to fill out that I needed as a new patient. He set the tone for my first visit to this dentist. The dental hygienist was personable and efficient, too. Dr. Abernathy treated me like an old friend. Dr. Angela P. Abernathy, received her DDS degree from the Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, TN. Upon completing her studies at Meharry, Dr. Abernathy also completed two years of General Practice Residency at Harlem Hospital in New York City. While at Harlem Hospital she was exposed to a very rigorous schedule that included working with medically compromised patients, advanced dental procedures, the management of dental emergencies, exposure to advanced oral surgery procedures, emergency medical services and working with the anesthesia team. In keeping with her commitment to gaining additional training and staying informed on the latest dental procedures and technology, Dr. Abernathy is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
