Updated summary: the wonderful ladies mentioned below have moved on over time, but Dr. Chen maintains a skilled team of hygienists to assist him. Today my cleaning was done by Susanna (sorry if I spelled it wrong!) who gave me the best cleaning I’ve ever had. I found myself forgetting I was even getting a cleaning. I have bad gingivitis and my gums are really inflamed but she still managed to mostly avoid them. C Squared is still a place for friendly, affordable, quality dental service from experienced professionals who genuinely care about your well-being. Summary: C Squared Dentristy is basically where you go if you want a team of crack dental professionals who are all super friendly, led by a guy who is also super friendly and somehow (by some dark magics, no doubt) even more skilled. I feel conflicted recommending them, simply because they’re all awesome, but I really miss having more choice with appointment times. In full: I’ve been a patient of Dr. Chen’s for years now. He’s easily the most skilled dentist I’ve ever had; most dentists will make a mistake every once in a while and cause a little pain, cannot remember that ever happening, and I’ve seen him a lot. I remember before he got busy, he even handled some regular cleanings himself which was awesome! They recently opened up new exam rooms, all of which are equipped with what I assume to be state of the art equipment. Everything looks almost new, which tells me everyone there really cares about taking good care of their tools. They clearly take pride in their work and have good reason to. As for me, well I’m not really a great patient… most of my cleanings have required follow-ups for fillings, and Dr. Chen usually ends the cleaning and starts the follow-up by nagging me about my habits. I love that though. Dr. Chen really cares about the oral health of his patients. I mean he’s getting more money every time he fills a cavity in my mouth, but I think it speaks volumes that his business has grown so fast so visibly. Two of his assistants have been around since almost, if not, the beginning: Shayna who is some sort of administrative superhero and Meagen who is also better than most dentists I’ve had. There’s also Bri, who has done a number of my cleanings, who is, again, better than most dentists I’ve had. That C Squared Dentistry is in my insurance network is amazing, but, assuming I could afford it, I would easily pay higher premiums or even full cost to remain a patient

So far I have had nothing but great service with Dr Chen and his staff! Makenna at the front desk is very nice and very on top of the appointments and scheduling, always remembering to contact me if an earlier appointment opens and/or juggling appointments to make it work for me. Susana has been my hygienist both times I’ve been in and has always been fantastic with her patient care and the work she performs. Hands down the best dentist/staff combination I’ve found and happy I found them!

I was looking for a new dentist, and Dr. Chen works in my building. My prior dentist was great, but my life is so busy so I figured having a dentist in my building would encourage me to go to the dentist more often.  I read good things online about Dr. Chen as well. Therefore, I decided to give him a try.  Dr. Chen and his staff are so kind and polite.  Better yet, they actually use your name!   My childhood dentist (who I saw till my late 20s) NEVER used my name.  I wasn’t even sure he knew my name!  However, Dr. Chen and his staff really know their patients.  They are extremely polite and patient.  Jackie, Megan, Mandi, Shayna (I hope I spelled their names correctly) are always terrific.  Dr. Chen takes the time to explain things to you. You never feel pressured or rushed. I can tell they take pride in their work.  I highly recommend C Squared Dentistry

I first came in when I had severe dental anxiety. I told staff about it and the dentist, assistant, and hygienist were all very kind and gentle. It had been several years since I had been to the dentist, and I needed quite a bit of work done. Dr. Chen took care of all my fillings and helped me monitor the two that might have needed root canals. The front office staff have also always been very helpful and friendly. Excellent dentist and team!

I feel a need to write this review after the amazing service I have received from Dr Chen and his staff. When I had new dental insurance from a new job, I spent a considerable time researching dentist on the list, and after excluding over 30 finally settled on C Squared.  I read a couple reviews elsewhere about how they do not try to rip you off here by pushing on questionable procedures.  The last dentist I had been to wanted me to do a gum thing that when I read about it was not something I really needed but was going to cost a bundle. I was not disappointed with my decision.  Dr Chen told me, after his own analysis and without me saying anything about it to him, on that same gum issue that while it was something that I should be aware of, that corrective measures would be premature. Later in the year an on-lay put in place by my previous dentist had a piece that chipped off and when I called C Squared they gave me the option of redoing the procedure, or a much more affordable option of trying to patch it.  I went with the patching and they quoted me what my co-pay would be.  I went in for the procedure and they had actually quoted me the wrong co-pay based on my insurance, they quoted me based on the more premium version, but they honored their original quote without me even having to say anything. The patch did not last, as Dr Chen made very clear before I did it that it might not based on the situation, it was on a molar, so I had to go back and have it completely corrected.  I went back 5 months later, after I could upgrade my insurance, and asked if I would be given any credit for the co-pay that I paid for the patch.  Dr Chen gave me full credit for the previous co-pay I had paid, despite that he had made it clear to me that it might not last and it was completely my decision to do it anyways. Dr Chen and his entire staff are extremely competent and friendly.  On top of that, he treats you like both a patient and a customer, and works to insure that you are 100% happy when you leave.  I have never written anyone a review off half this length and really could not recommend this place more

Unquestionably the BEST dentist and staff in Santa Clarita! We have been patients of Dr. Chen for years now and always recommend them to anyone who asks. From the moment you walk into their office, it is very apparent that they are there to help you. Everyone in the office is great at explaining any treatment you may need in detail and informing you of all options. Dr. Chen has a very calming presence whenever he is around you and you definitely feel welcome when you get there and well cared for by the time you leave. I highly recommend C Squared Dentistry!

This 5-STAR REVIEW is a follow-up to my PRIOR 5-Star Review (dated April 21, 2016) in which I described “C Squared Dentistry” and Dr. Curtis Chen’s EXCELLENCE on every measure of performance. This Review focuses on the EXCELLENT 5-STAR dental treatment I recently received from Dental Hygienist “NORENA” at C Squared Dentistry.  NORENA’s exceptional dental skills, her sunny personality, and her perfect performance constitute additional reasons why I look forward to and enjoy receiving dental care from Dr. Chen and NORENA and all the incredibly skilled dental professionals at C Squared Dentistry. As a Dental Hygienist, NORENA was assigned to clean my teeth, but this assignment presented a daunting worst-case scenario for any dental professional.  Norena handled it perfectly.  I’ll briefly explain : Until I recently received treatment from Dr. Chen, I had not regularly seen a dentist for over 30 years.  Throughout the prior 30 years, I never had my teeth cleaned !  Yes, I went 30 years without a cleaning. Consequently, my teeth and gums were in very poor and deteriorating condition for a very long time. The extensive build-up of plaque, tartar, and other hard-deposits on my teeth both ABOVE AND BELOW MY GUM LINE, presented a near-impossible task. This is because any attempt to effectively clean my teeth above and below my gum line would result in much pain and discomfort for me UNLESS the cleaning was performed by a dental professional who could exercise complete mastery over the process. This is where NORENA comes in. As a result of the combination of Norena’s highly skilled application of local anesthesia, her sincere and fun and comforting personality, and her complete mastery of her dental craft, I experienced NO PAIN despite Norena’s comprehensive and effective cleaning of my teeth ABOVE AND BELOW MY GUM LINE. I remained alert throughout the process because Norena skillfully applied local anesthesia, and I felt no pain throughout the cleaning despite the fact that I could see and hear that Norena was applying all her considerable skills in order to remove the difficult plaque and hard deposits that had built up over the preceding 30 years ! In fact, the wonderful assistants in Dr. Chen’s front office joked that I was laughing too loudly throughout Norena’s comprehensive cleaning of my teeth. This was NOT because of the local anesthesia. I was joking and laughing because Norena’s top-notch skill and her painless but highly effective treatment put me completely at ease. Instead of being apprehensive and anxious regarding each stage of the cleaning process – – especially the cleaning that was performed under my gum line – – I simply enjoyed the entire process while reclined in the dental chair.  Norena’s extensive technical knowledge and experience, her sincere care, her meticulous attention to detail, and her micrometer-perfect use of her dental instruments resulted in a process that I enjoyed. Now, I can run my tongue along my teeth and I can actually FEEL that my teeth are clean – – and after 30 years, that’s an incredibly great feeling! In closing, despite their busy dental practice, Dr. Curtis Chen, Norena, and all the excellent staff have always treated me as an individual, and I have never felt that I’m on an assembly-line or receiving “cookie cutter” treatment. When I first met Dr. Chen, he carefully discussed my medical history, including a medical condition which damaged my nerve tissues and caused considerable pain beginning in 2011, and which subsequently resulted in my suffering debilitating physical pain and nerve pain beginning in late 2013, including painful skin lesions and outbreaks, as well as related complications including significant cognitive difficulties, all of which continued for a long time thereafter. As opposed to other medical professionals that might review a patient’s prior medical history with a quick perfunctory glance, Dr. Chen and his staff are exceptional, they are careful, and they care about the entire medical condition of their patients. This dental office delivers way beyond expectations on everything I look for in receiving dental care.  Right up front, its modern appearance, cleanliness, and high-tech ambience make me feel welcome and valued.  Then there’s the staff from front office to dental assistants, to hygienists and Dr. Chen himself, they are always happy to see me and treat me like a real valued patient.  They use the latest technology which allows me to feel almost no discomfort during procedures and they keep me well ahead of any dental issues I am experiencing.  I have no reservations whatsoever in referring any and all of my friends and family to this office

I have extreme anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist. I also have always been embarrassed about my teeth.  My husband received dental insurance with his new job and I had no excuse not to go. My husbands co-worker referred Dr. Chen and I’m so glad I went! I was so nervous that I actually started crying as soon as I was seated in the dental chair.  Dr. Chen and Megan were so comforting and encouraging. There was no judgement,  just guidance and hope. Dr. Chen and his whole staff are amazing! It is such a relief to find a kind, caring and knowledgeable dentist and dental staff. If you have anxiety when it comes to the dentist, trust me when I say Dr. Chen is the one for you. Jennifer
