Visited DR. Charlin for the first time today. The staff was very nice and the mood of the entire office is friendly and welcoming. The facility is very clean and well kept. Free parking is conveniently located behind he building. They took their time to make sure everything is done right. The DR. Is very thorough and patient with a great chair side manor. I look forward to working with this team for years to come.

I just stumbled onto these reviews after googling Dr. Charlin’s telephone number. I can’t believe what I’m reading. I’ve been going to Dr. Charlin’s for the last five years. Dr. Charlin is by far the best dentist I’ve been to in California. I’ve been to at least five dentists prior to seeing him and had all kinds of monkey stuff done to my mouth by previous dentists. Dr. Charlin has done an excellent job in fixing other dentists mistakes as well as proactive steps. Dr. Charlin was recommended to me by my co-workers in the Trident complex where his old office was. Many people there used him and I never heard one complaint. The office told me they left the old location because the new lease was way too expensive. I guess they wouldn’t tell me if it was because of complaints, but that’s straight from the horse’s mouth and not hearsay. Second, I’ve seen him wash his hands and I guarantee he uses gloves along with the rest of his staff. The review from Karen T. sounds like complete nonsense. I wouldn’t go there if I noticed any hygiene issues. His current (temporary) place is on Pico and his new establishment will be on Wilshire. The hygenist who does the normal cleanings and deep cleanings is absolutely excellent and extremely nice and gentle at the same time. I also know who Mister X. is talking about and that lady is no longer there. But, I’ve had that lady do x-rays and other minor things and although not as skilled as the others, didn’t leave me worried in any way and was also gentle and nice. There is always an upsale speech (teeth whitening, braces, veneers). But, what dentist doesn’t do that? I’ve never had teeth whitening done with them (or anywhere). However, for fillings, crowns, etc., I wouldn’t go anywhere else, even if I had to drive for hours to get there. I’ve got crowns and fillings from Charlin and they are perfect from second they are put in place. No sanding, buffing, etc. to make them line up with your other teeth, it’s an immediate perfect fit and you can’t tell they are not your real teeth. I’ve never had one fail (fall out, break) either.

Dr. Charlin is a great dentist. Angela is the best dental hygienist ever and really kind.  Together they keep my teeth and gums healthy, and my smile as pretty as ever.  I have not had a new cavity since I started going to Dr. Charlin and plan to keep my real teeth healthy for my whole life.  After over 10 years with Dr. Charlin, I have a good chance of doing that.  Thank you Dr. Charlin.

Been going to Dr. Charlin for 15 years and highly recommend him, Angela, and Amanda for great work at fair prices.  I always feel at ease in their care.  Dr. Charlin is an outstanding professional and a genuinely warm and friendly guy, as is Angela, and Amanda is super nice.

I first came to Dr. Charlin in mid 2017 after being referred by my husband’s coworker. I had a crown put in by another practice that was giving me issues, and Dr. Charlin has been a huge help in correcting my dental woes. Their office is conveniently located only a short drive away, the staff is super friendly and always welcoming when I walk into the room. Service is outstanding. There are rarely moments that I have to wait long before I’m escorted to the back and into the chair. I was really hesitant to visit another dental office after dealing with so much back and forth from my previous dentist, however Dr. Charlin really eased my mind. He’s got a great bedside manner, is straightforward and conservative when he can be, and overall a skilled professional in his line of work. I feel comfortable when I visit, which is quite the change from where I was almost a year ago. Good value for the work done, I have nothing but praise for this practice.

I just got back from Europe.. Two days prior to leaving (Friday late afternoon) I had a toothache which had gotten progressively worst during the day. I called Dr. Charlin’s office at 7:00 pm. (I kept waiting for it to get better on its own. You know how that goes) I had been seeing Dr. Charlin over 25 years. I assume I was one of his first patience. I left a message and within 15 minutes Dr. Charlin called me back. He had asked me to meet him at his office that evening. I told him let’s see how it is tomorrow. He tried to convince to come in Friday evening, I believe I caught him in a restaurant.. I told him I wanted to wait until tomorrow. Saturday morning came and I was now in excruciating pain. I called the office again at 6:00 in the morning. He met me at his office at 8:30. I had a broken tooth and upon xray’s I needed a root canal. He performed it immediately. No fun. Once again he bailed me out. With the Codene he gave me I actually slept well on the flight and by the time I arrived Monday morning my mouth was 80%and 100% by Tuesday. Thank you Dr. Charlin! (If you actually read this stuff.)

I have been with this dentist for years and now I have all my kids going to see him and our wonderful oral hygienist as well. I HIGHLY recommend these folks for all dental related needs, including teeth whitening.

Been going to Dr. Charlin for 14 years. A few years ago, I moved to OC but still drive up for appointments. Doc is easy to talk to about your situation, common sense approach to problems and a straight shooter. Friendly staff and they do a good job making you feel comfortable and they try to accommodate your schedule. Modern dentistry/good value.

Like many people’s first visit to a new dentist, mine was triggered by an emergency. 4 years ago I had recently & hastily relocated from the East Coast and although gathered a couple of references from my coworkers, I decided to choose Dr. Cary Charlin because of the proximity to my office, across the street on West Olympic Blvd. I had discovered that in Los Angeles is very relevant to have easy access to your doctors. Currently his office in on Wilshire & Westgate Street and the accessible parking lot in building as well as the expansive views from each chair still make every visit very convenient and pleasant. Back then and still now I have always being pleased with the gracious manners of receptionist. Greeted as a new friend then, greeted as an old friend now.  That they put you at ease at once – knowing that 99% of us mortals are filled with enormous anxiety when stepping at such a place – is an important feature of any dental office that should never be taken for granted. Believe me; it is not taken for granted here. Punctuality is another extremely important attribute when I evaluate any professional service. Nothing I hate most than when a doctor indirectly tell you that his or her time is more valuable that yours by making you wait. This is bad characteristic that not only show a lack of respect for the patient but a total lack of professionalism. I praise myself of being extremely punctual and Dr. Charlin or any of his personal has ever failed to be there, impeccably on time, on the early hours of the morning (allowing me to be back to my office on time). They multitask, like in many other professional service offices; but when it comes to the task of contacting the dental insurance companies (I have dealt with 3 so far), everything has always been clarified in the spot or have been properly followed up. Any discrepancy in any bill has also been corrected swiftly. In one occasion, my treatment was so complicated, that the premium I need to pay was too high, so I inquired about an alternative for a payment plan and without hesitation I was offered one. My first experience during that first visit was with the wonderful Angela, his loyal hygienist who still represents – in my opinion – the best compendium of professional competence & personal sweetness I have seen in any hygienist. Not only she does perform the most comprehensive cleaning but she does it with a delicacy that I found particularly remarkable; often complemented with the soundest advices & encouragement. She is absolutely marvelous for adults and I have no doubt she must be the best for kids. She has managed to make me look forward to going to a dentist, if such feeling can exist! Esperanza – Dr. Charlin’s assistant – is another skillful sweetheart whose also helps smoothen the familiar trauma associated with a dental work. I like to comment on how she carries the tortuous task of taking X-rays (why this has not evolved to the 21st century?). She is filled with patience when dealing with the maligned gaggling effect. Always equipped with a smile, waiting to repeat the procedure until you are ready. I like to think of Dr. Charlin as the ideal dentist for guys. He is a gentleman with whom you can have any conversations of any topic but on whom you can vest a great dose of trust. I always come out with the certainty that what was performed it is going to work and that the best materials have been used. Some people might be turned off by his frankness but I do believe that same honesty is paramount when receiving the assessment of your dental condition. Straight talk can be disorienting for some but very reassuring for many others. It is for me. Over the course of the 2 years I have gotten two major dental works and I was absolutely impressed with the quality – color, resistance, comfort, etc. – of each piece (4-tooth bridges). I did it one first, and returned for the second a year after once I confirmed that all attributes of the first one were up to my expectations. During each procedure, I have confirmed an intrinsic pursue of perfection. I have come to nickname it the “tap-tap factor”: words he repeatedly asked you when assessing the comfort of the work done. Like everything in life, reviews are relative. As long as it continues to work for me – regardless of other’s opinions – I will continue to patronize Dr. Cary Charlin. This for the time being is my personal opinion of him and his staff.

Dr. Charlin has saved my life! If it wasn’t for him is never go to the dentist. He’s the best. I’m such a chicken when it comes to dental work, and he always takes such good care of me. I’ve been his patient for over 10 years and his work has held up beautifully. He is trustworthy, dependable and cares about all of his patients. If you’re looking for a dentist, your search is over.
