Came here to get a second opinion on my chipped teeth. Dr. Mercado and his staff were extremely friendly and professional. They explained everything and my options very clearly. On my first visit, they were able to give me a temporary filling. And on my second visit I was able to get everything fixed. I’m so happy and thankful for my new smile!! I can’t stop smiling 😀

Dr. Mercado and his team are outstanding. When I was experiencing great pain from a cracked tooth, they were able to fit me into his schedule same day. He did a root canal that completely eased the pain. He was also able to make the crown in his office in one visit, which saved me a lot of time. The team there is friendly and knowledgeable too. I highly recommend Dr. Mercado and his team.

Wonderful staff! I’m not comfortable at all going to dentist. From the beginning they put me at ease and explained what was going to happen. I still had some white knuckle moments but I survived!! And I’ve been back several times. Each time I feel more confident. I never felt pressured to commit to pricey procedures. I went in wanting to be taken care of and I certainly was. I love my smile!!! Doctor Mercado is a gem very personable and he’s picked a great group of people to work with him.

I LOVE this dentist!  Let me just say that I was scared to death about going to the dentist. Dr. Mercado was great. He did awesome work and I didn’t feel a thing. (I’ve had several procedures.) The staff is just as wonderful!  I promise you’ll love this dentist like I do!

I was so nervous at first because I had 2 other dentists tell me 2 different things. Then I met with Dr. Mercado and told me what needed to be done the right way and after that I knew I found a dentist who cares and doesn’t see just another dollar sign.

I have been a fan of Castle Hills Family Dental from the first appointment. Everyone has always been friendly, and kind. Dr Mercado is also the least judgy dentist I have ever encountered. I get it, I need to floss more, but Dr Mercado doesn’t give me the third degree about it. He gives me a thoughtful reminder, but doesn’t harp on it. Love this office. When my dental insurance got screwed up and switched to an HMO style coverage, I refused to go to the only place that would accept it, Monarch Dental, and instead waited my year to go back to Dr Mercado. No one else compares for whole family dentistry!

I’ve had great success working w Dr Mercado and his team. I upgraded my insurance and it opened the door for highly competent dental care once more, with Dr Mercado. Everyone is friendly and works quickly to get things done. I’ve had occasional difficulties with their system for setting up appointments, but it’s worth it to get through them…

They know me here. I had to return several times for various things over the last five years. Does this make me biased? I think not. It makes it patently clear that the team here is a real team that cares about its clients and deserve all the accolades I am about to shower all over their heads. This may not seem that important in the surface, but it is. Maybe they do not want me to say this, but I have witnessed several occasions when some staff members seemed to be having a bad day or what not and I could tell they were truly empathetic to their coworker’s plights and sometimes even went into other rooms to be professionally deal with it without affecting their clients whatsoever. A unique example that I believe shows a quality of a good business. I actually first started here when there were in a smaller office on Basse. Over the years, many internships have come and gone, some staff have moved on to bigger and better things for them; but the core team has remained mostly intact and I love them all the more for that. Aside from the basics, they are always friends, always try their best to accommodate, show interest by remembering me every time. They always seem to have the latest technology and Doctor Mercado is always learning and training his staff members. Even the other Doctor in the office, Doctor Leah Villareal, was there the other day consulting with him and was friendly with me. Past staff members that I have to write a special notation to: Christy (insurance), Kat (dental assistant), and Mercedes, the Doctor’s daughter who was there for a while during the summer. The current team includes Celina & Louie at reception, Koebi is the hygienist, and Barbara & Gloria, dental assistants. Monica, the Doctor’s wife, is almost always there and not sure what her formal role is, but she has been a lifesaver in communications with difficult insurance situations for me, going out of her way to speak to individuals after hours, despite the fact that she has children of her own to care for. Words cannot peppermint express my gratitude. There is, of course, Doctor Rafael Mercado. We both like photography, so that was nice to find out, and more importantly he always tries his best with the pain level when working with me, has always been accommodating and explains things whenever I need. Saving the best for last. The head dental assistant is Simone. She has been there since the beginning and has no plans on going anywhere; we have known each other the longest and are cool friends. Hahahaha. Mostly kidding. But we do like to gossip a little maybe whenever I am there. It makes what could be a traumatizing experience a little easier to endure! I cannot speak for anyone else, but having these individuals go out of there way for little me and maybe even having a good time at the dentist’s office definitely equates to exceeding my expectations!
