Dr. Fletcher is your perfect non-gimmicky dentist. Seriously. I’m not into the whole trendy dentist thing. If you’re working on my teeth, I better feel like you and your staff know what they’re doing, and I really don’t want to need to be lured in by a flashy postcard with free stuff stamped all over it. One of the toughest things to do moving to a new city where you don’t know a ton of people is finding good, trustworthy dentists and doctors, so I have totally relied on reviews I’ve found on Yelp and elsewhere. Everywhere you will find reviews on Dr. Fletcher, you will find 100% 5 stars. Now, I know why! First, as a heads up, they’ve changed locations. Right now, the Yelp address still says Garland Rd. The office is now on Buckner, so make sure and call ahead to get the correct address. Every staff person in the office is friendly and polite. The front desk staff was very helpful and patient when I called and had accidentally gone to the old location. She said that with their new address, most GPS’s take you to the wrong place across the street or something. My hygienist was Sheila, and she is probably the nicest lady ever. She was very conversational, and I felt that she was genuinely interested in learning more about me. Then, she was telling me things about my teeth that no hygienist or dentist has ever said…not in a “this is everything that’s wrong” kind of way but things like pointing the results of the braces I had when I was younger. After the cleaning, I felt like I knew more about my teeth…it was kind of an enlightening moment. Ha! When I asked about whitening, instead of pushing their whitening options, she said that at my age I’d likely get the results I wanted from Crest Whitestrips. She mentioned their whitening options but said she didn’t think I needed that. I think that says a ton right there; most places would have very quickly tried to upsell you on their services. Dr. Fletcher is awesome! He overheard me and Sheila’s conversation about how I’m from South Louisiana as he was walking by and stopped to talked to me about Cajun food. He is as friendly as can be! He is very non-threatening and has a great sense of humor. During the dental exam, he didn’t find anything wrong (yay!) and explained how my existing fillings were doing. I can not see this guy ever making you feel that you need to buy unnecessary services. Again, I’ve never been to a dentist’s office where they’ve gone into detail about my teeth and then I left feeling like I actually knew what’s going on with my teeth, until now that is. He also wasn’t rushing around which was nice. I find that most dentists I’ve been to always seem to be rushing around and onto the next patient. He was very patient, and I felt like I had his full attention. Anyway, obviously, I would recommend Dr. Fletcher. If you’re looking for a new dentist or if you aren’t 100% satisfied with your current dentist, you should give Dr. Fletcher a try!
