Actually, Dr. Reed’s first name is spelled A-T-E-M. Over the past three months, I have had Dr. Reed perform two crowns, filled the gaps in my front upper and lower teeth where the enamel had worn off due to clenching my teeth while sleeping, and also made a mouth guard for me to wear while sleeping. The last time I had a crown done, I ended up with a frozen shoulder due to clenching my whole body during the procedure – that was with a different dentist. The fact that Dr. Reed is young, he is conversant in new techniques, and does his best to make the patient feel comfortable. We also scheduled different appointments to accommodate the work I needed done by priority. We all know how expensive dental work can be, but honestly this is the first time I paid the bill without a grimace. I am extremely happy with the care I have received from Dr. Reed, as well as from the front office ladies, the dental hygienists, and the dental assistants that work with Dr. Reed. I think it important to note that Dr. Reed took over this practice from another dentist, and the fact that the ENTIRE STAFF chose to stay with him speaks well of Dr. Reed and the way he treats people, staff and patients alike.

I am so thankful for Dr. Reed and his team (especially Leslie, my hygienist). I’ve been through a LOT of dental work, for a few different reasons – everything from fillings, crowns, an extraction, even a root canal – and I am very happy with the care I’ve received here over the years. Dr. Reed and his team are seriously SO caring. Each time I was fraught with anxiety before the appointment, and every single time my anxiety was so much worse than anything real at the appointment. All of my appointments/procedures have been so easy and painless. The root canal was, particularly, an absolute breeze for me – even though it was a complicated and bad case from the dentist’s perspective. Dr. Reed and his staff are all great at explaining everything that is happening or going to happen, and explaining your options. They have checked up on me after procedures and have recommended fantastic specialists when needed. It’s been over a year since my last procedure, some of the work he’s done is quite a few years old now, and the quality has held up. They have provided excellent advice. On top of all of that, the administrative staff at the front are always on the ball trying to make sure I’m receiving the most cost-effective care. I’m just truly grateful for everything they’ve done for me. The improved quality of life that great dental work provides is priceless. I have no plans of going to any other dentists as long as Atem is still practicing here!

I started going to Cherry Hills Dental Center a few years ago after my previous dentist no longer carried my dental insurance. I was impressed at the time by the welcoming and capable office staff and delighted with the dental hygienist I was assigned to. Leslie is a gem! She is very capable, professional, and treats each patient as an individual. She is also very “gentle” while doing the cleaning and works quickly when doing x-rays, which is a plus for me since my gag reflex is a bit hyperactive. I have also had a good impression of Dr. Reed, who took over Dr. Tilson’s practice. He is a very knowledgeable dentist and discusses your care options fully. He also seems better versed in modern dental practices than most dentists who have been in practice for many years. I have insurance, but felt their charges were in line with other dentists in the area. I no longer live in New Mexico, but timed my last cleaning for when I was back in town just so I could have Leslie do the work. She is by far the best dental hygienist in the area.

Cherry Hills Dental Center is the absolute best dental clinic I have ever been to! Due to some childhood trauma at the dentist’s office, I was always afraid to go to the dentist’s office. Everyone at Cherry Hills-from Virginia at the front desk, to Leslie, my hygienist, to Dr Reed-Everyone is wonderful! It is the ONLY dentist’s office that I have been to, and had ZERO pain! I highly recommend them!

Dr. Reed and his team at Cherry Hills Dental are truly outstanding. Before going there for dental examination, i had not seen a dentist for about 3 years. Lesley, patiently and with a high degree of professionalism, cleaned my teeth with precision. I had to go the following Monday for a second round of cleaning without paying a dime. I have had the opportunity to be treated by varied dentists in London and Maryland, but Dr. Reed is just awesome and outstanding. Our family has been going to Cherry Hills Dental for seven years. We started with Dr. Tilson. Shannon and Leslie are excellent hygienists. Dr. Atem Reed is the new dentist and our family thinks he is great!! The staff stayed the same and Dr. Tilson assists on a limited basis. Dr. Reed is knowledgeable, kind and gentle. Our daughter is graduating La Cueva this year and he donated a fabulous door prize for the Grad Rad night. We highly recommend Dr. Reed and his staff at Cherry Hills Dental in Albuquerque.

I actually signed up for yelp just to post this review. Dr. Atel reed at cherry hills is the best! Straight forward, proactive and really professional. I hate…truly truly hate dentists and this office makes me want to be more proactive with my dental care. The hygienists, office staff and of course dr. Reed are truly a step above. However, I feel this is something that I must do after recently going to Cherry Hills Dental to see Dr. Reed, DDS. I have never been so pleased with a dental office in my life! This team is just absolutely phenomenal. They recently bought the practice and TOTALLY turned it around. Their new lobby is much more comfortable and up to date and their staff (part old, part new) is so compassionate and professional. In general I have pretty good teeth, but with a few sensitive spots. After every cleaning I feel great. The hygienists are gentle and use a water pick first to break up anything sticking so they don’t have to scrape so hard or make your gums bleed. They also got me set up on a tooth whitening set that is specifically for sensitive teeth – which had always been my main deterrent before. In the past, I have had such bad experiences while getting impressions for a night guard, with assistants overfilling the putty and it dripping down my throat so that I gag, that I actually have recurring nightmares about having to do them again. This sounds ridiculous I know and is not a rational fear, but honestly are fears ever rational!?!. Their team did such an outstanding job making me comfortable and keeping me calm through the process and the worst, awful, most-terrible 2 minutes to get them done perfectly – and NOT have to redo them! I’ve been going to them for a little over a year now. In that time both my sister and my mom both chipped a tooth and with an after hours call, they were able to squeeze them both in the next morning and work over their lunch. They are just so caring and accommodating and just awesome! Another reason why I love these guys (and why I left my last dentist, that I also loved for every other reason except this) is that if you need any work done, they will actually run you through all the options, all the risks, and also check with insurance to see what is covered and what the best plan of action for your teeth and your pocketbook is. Then they let you make the decision. One time after my cleaning, while I was waiting to see Dr. Reed, I overheard a conversation of one of the team members with an elderly man. He was having some decaying teeth pulled (which were almost all of them) and debating about keeping his good teeth for partial dentures, getting them pulled for full dentures, or referring him to someone for implants. What I loved was how compassionate they were and how they told him about the recovery time for each procedure, what the best option was based on his diet (dentures vs implants) and also how his insurance cover things. They would only pay for dentures once in his life, so if he got partial ones and lost another tooth, he’d be out of luck. They don’t pay for implants – which he would need if he wanted to continue to eat some of his favorite foods because he would get frustrated with dentures with those foods, but he could replace the bad ones now and the others as he needs them. That type of information is key in making decisions. I don’t know what he ended up choosing, but I just loved how they presented all the information to the man and let him decide what is best for his lifestyle and budget. In conclusion, I absolutely LOVE this team. Dr. Atem Reed is phenomenal. Their office manager, Catherine, is also amazing. Their front desk ladies are so efficient in scheduling and billing insurance, and their hygienists are gentle. Is there really anything else you could ask for in a dentist? Maybe they could give foot massages while getting your teeth cleaned. That’s it, I’m docking a star for lack of foot massages. (Just kidding!)
