I recently got a new job and needed to find a dentist in DTLA closer to work. I was referred to Dr. Chin — and I am thankful for it! I’ve gotten used to average teeth cleanings and exams, being plopped down into a chair, and being lectured to about not flossing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . There is nothing average about Dr. Chin and his office. The second I walked in I could tell this place is different. The office is brand new, has all the modern equipment/tech, and has a great view of DTLA. By far the nicest dentist office I’ve ever seen. I’m used to a quick cleaning/exam and am lucky if I get to see the actual dentist for a few minutes. Not here. Before you even sit in a dental chair, Dr. Chin talks with you about your concerns and goals for your smile. I’ve never in my life had such a thorough exam. He was very warm, funny, and was checking in to make sure I was comfortable (no shaming or lecturing!). He didn’t try to upsell me on things or push treatments on me. Instead, his treatment plan matched perfectly with my concerns/goals that we had talked about before. I highly recommend Dr. Chin and his office. The experience was above and beyond. Dr. Chin is a great dentist. He’s created an overall experience that eliminates any of the usual discomforts associated with general dentistry. I sought his services based on his location to where I lived (DTLA) and his reviews. The experience was great – I had a general check up & cleaning as a new patient. I will definitely be returning.  The office was extremely clean and I was provide Netflix during my appointment. I’m really satisfied with the level of professionalism and the calming experience I was offered. The only constructive criticism I would give is, if you can even call it that: I’ve been twice and both times my appointment ran close to two hours. (That could be *my* teeth though). The experience is personal with a small staff.  Overall, at 28, I can say this was the best dentist appointment I’ve ever had. 5/5

Because of a bicycle accident as a child, I injured my face along with losing teeth. My face healed but I was in and out of dental office for years. I never found a dentist who explained the process let alone performed the necessary dental work. I still recall one dentist in particular who gave me a shot it was so unbelievably painful his response the more it hurts means it is working! I can state countless stories about my negative experiences with dentist. So when a friend referred me to Dr. Chin I had no expectations I expected the same ole pain and frustration with the inadequate work. I was wrong, for the first time I experienced a dr who took the time to address my extensive history and explained what needed to be done to repair the past dental treatment. Most of all Dr. Chin understood my fear of dentist. Dr. Chin particularly with his modern equipment was able to gently perform my dental work. I smile now without putting my hands over my mouth it was a hard habit to break but I proudly love to show off my beautiful smile. If you are reading this too Dr. Chin thank you thank you!!

I’ll be honest. I totally came here for the name. Also I was referred to this dentistry by a friend of mine. City of Angels Dentistry is by far the most modern and awesome dentistry I know. They have an upscale and comfortable vibe. It’s gorgeous! From their waiting room, which feels like the comforts of a living room to the caring and friendly staff. It’s such a great team and I love how they are so relaxed and chill versus the adamant and pushy dental office people that make you book treatments. I seriously love how modern and luxurious it feels, especially with the tech. It’s like the place has amenities like a hotel. Dr. Kevin Chin does an amazing job and really takes the time to take good care of his patients. I cannot wait to recommend his office to other people. City of Angels Dentistry is perfect! Love the

My experience with Dr.Kevin and the whole team was amazing! He explained all the options I had for my treatment and what was the most important for me – he was never pushy like most of the dentistries I’ve been to and he didn’t try to just get the most of my money, he really cared about choosing the best option for me. He always followed up after my treatment to make sure it’s going well and I’m very happy with the results I achieved!

I was referred to Dr Chin by a friend, and I’m really glad I went. I’ve just finished my second appointment (haven’t been to the dentist in a while) and it was pretty fantastic. Dr Chin, and Jessica (his assistant), were nothing but patient and professional. They were flexible when I got my times wrong, and gave me lots of information and options when I was choosing what needed to be done. The office itself is clean, attractive, and pleasant. Both of them are thorough in their tests and the work they do. I had to get deep cleaning done (on two different days) as well as some fillings. They got them done quickly and I barely felt a thing. There was a screen with Netflix, and I caught myself laughing at the program, I was so relaxed. This has been the best dentist of my experience.

It’s been a long time since I have written a review for a business, but this place is worth it for me to come out of my yelp-retirement. When you walk into the office, you feel at ease. The office is nice, new, and welcoming. They even have essential oil diffusers that make the place smell like a high-end hotel. The assistant Jessica is awesome and very friendly. During my second visit, I was impressed by all the details she remembered about me. She was gentle with the cleaning and flossing instructions. And best of all, I didn’t get scolded for perhaps not always flossing twice a day… Going to the dentist is not exactly something I *enjoy* per se, but Dr. Chin has great bedside manner and a good sense of humor…which makes the experience much more tolerable 😉 He is gentle, honest and never pushy — a big reason why I have left my previous dentist. Here, I don’t ever feel pressured to get any (expensive) “add-on” treatments. My only gripe is that the parking could get a little tough (hellOoo, DTLA!), but just come a little early to account for that. Not a big deal. I can’t recommend this place enough and will be sending my friends and family here for some pearly whites!

Office: The office is beautiful, modern, tidy, and clean. A very pleasant welcoming area with coffee and cold refreshments if you need them. The dental equipment is new and you have all the modern amenities you need – even Bluetooth headphones to watch Netflix while you get your work done. Staff: Jessica is both the receptionist and assistant. She is really pleasant and fun to talk to.  Dentistry: Kevin gives a thorough exam and talks to you about what he sees and is totally transparent about your needs, if a problem tooth can wait to be treated he’ll say so. He provides you with a well organized treatment plan so you know what your getting into and how much it will cost. Once he gets to work he makes sure you’re ready to go by properly numbing and prepping you for treatment. His work is fantastic and you can tell that he is focused on doing excellent work. He cares about your comfort and about the health of your mouth; he’s willing to take a break if you need one. After the visit I had no unexpected soreness and there was no pain once the numbing agent wore off. Overall: A great visit with a great dentist who doesn’t make you feel bad for not flossing. Can’t wait for the Zoom whitening to get set up so my smile can really shine 

Dr. Chin is an excellent dentist and I would recommend him to anyone. He made me feel extremely comfortable. His staff, Jessica was very friendly and very polite. Definitely coming back, I finally found a good dentist! *highly recommended!*

Dr. Chin is really personable and gave me a super thorough cleaning. His office is really relaxing, clean, and welcoming. I’m so glad I found him as my new dentist!  He comes from a family line of dentists, so you know he knows his stuff.

I am a new patient of Dr. Chin’s and am extremely happy with the services provided. I had a dental checkup/cleaning and am really satisfied with my overall experience. The office is impeccably clean which is a huge plus during this time. I am really happy to have found this dentist. Oh! And they have TVs with Netflix which made the experience x10 more enjoyable and about x100 faster.

I went to COFA Dentistry after having a terrible experience at another dentist. I won’t get into that, but I will say that Kevin and everyone at City of Angels was great. I actually ended up paying out of pocket because nobody accepts my terrible insurance, but it was 100% worth it. The price seemed very fair for what I got (and less than 1/2 the price of a cleaning from another dentist 2 blocks away, I got estimates from a couple different offices before making my appointment). They were also able to see me just a 2 days after I called to schedule an appointment, and there was literally a 0 minute wait after I arrived. I was taken back as soon as I checked in. Can’t say that will be everyone’s experience all the time, I’ve only gone once. But it was the quickest and most pleasant check in and waiting experience I’ve had at a dentist. The office was very nice, clean, with relaxing “spa-esque” music playing.  All of the tools and equipment seemed to be new or very well maintained. Personally I’ve always kind of enjoyed getting my teeth cleaned. But if you tend to be nervous when visiting the dentist, I can’t imagine a less stressful office and experience. Overall, 10/10. Would recommend.

Needless to say. I have had many terrible dental experiences. I am so glad I chose City of Angels Dentistry. It was the best service ever. I felt no discomfort, and Dr. Chin explained in great detail my dental plan of action. I also let him know that I am always anxious about my dental visits. Throughout the appointment, he kept on asking me if I was doing ok. Highly recommend him

I had emergency on my gum after taking off my braces. I called several offices to try to get appointment as soon as possible. I was so lucky that I got a spot in the same day here with Dr. Chin right after I called the office in the morning due to no show of a scheduled patient. It was my best dental experience in LA so far. Dr. Chin and his assistant was super good. The environment of the office was very clean. Will be back next time if needed.

New to Los Angeles, and needed to find an dentist that was close to my office. Upon searching online, I noticed that Dr. Chin was super close and had very good ratings. After booking my appointment, I was grateful to find the visit, the office, the staff and Dr. Chin were just what the reviews were stating. Anyone looking for a great Dentist, try out Dr. Chin! Being new to LA, I have been looking to find a dentist that was modern and convenient. I had tried making appointments at other dental practices, but had little luck in getting to them to return my calls. It was so easy to make an appointment with him, and both Dr. Chin and his staff are incredibly nice and make me feel welcome. I had a great experience and would highly recommend Dr. Chin to anyone looking for a new dentist!

As far as going to the dentist goes, this is going to be the best experience you can find. I was referred by a friend and I’m so glad he turned me on to Dr. Chin, the office is spotless and brand new. The staff is fantastic, all were super friendly which made it feel more like a spa treatment rather than the dentist with eucalyptus hand towels and Netflix.I never felt pressured into getting unnecessary procedures and the prices were reasonable. The little cosmetic work I had done on my tooth turned out great and I’m super happy that I found my forever dentist.

Love coming here, the place is extra clean and vibrant. It really makes you feel at ease. It’s always a pleasure from the moment we step into their office’ The front office is professional, courteous and goes out of their way to accommodate our schedule. We once came here on the wrong day and they still took us in, very classy of them. Dr. Chin is kind and friendly, he thoroughly explains his procedures and provides feasible options. After his examinations he details things that are of concern and provides a pathway to healthy teeth. Things we can do at home to be preventive before they become issues. This office isn’t near me but I go out of my way to come here because of their overall level of professionalism and personal concern for the welfare for healthy teeth!

I have now been to see Dr. Kevin twice and have had an excellent experience both times. He was very informative about what my procedures and made me feel I wasn’t being over sold on anything I didn’t need. I was able to get a same day treatment and booking online was very easy. Aside from the pleasureable experience, the best part was being able to watch Netflix during my service which made for an overall enjoyable dentist visit.

I found Dr. Chin because his office is near my apartment. I called and setting up an appointment was a breeze. His office is really nice, everything was brand new and state-of-the-art. I’ve always been a little anxious about the dentist but he was super friendly and laid back and definitely put me at ease. He could tell I grind my teeth at night so we talked about getting a mouth guard, and he explained everything to me in detail. You can tell he really cares about his patients. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a new dentist. I’ve already referred a couple of friends to him. I’ll be back in 6 months!

I, like many people, have a  fear of the dentist. Even a regular check up can make me very nervous. Dr. Chin and his assistant completely alleviated all of my fears. From the moment I stepped into the (incredibly beautiful) office, I almost forgot to be nervous. The assistant was not the cold and clinical dental assistant I was so used to. She was kind and personable and completely sensitive to my needs and issues. She and Dr Chin work so well together and seem to anticipate each other’s needs. For the first time…maybe ever…I understood perfectly what was going on in my mouth and what needed to be done to my teeth. He didn’t just tell me what I needed to do, he explained it and showed me in pictures and x rays why I needed to do it. Usually I feel about my mouth the way I feel about my car- I don’t know what’s going on but I have to trust that the mechanic isn’t screwing me over. With Dr. Chin I was completely on the same page and left confident that I understood what was happening. Plus, they validate parking and I have been to many doctors and dentists who force you to park in their lot and charge you an extra $20 just to park. Overall, amazing experience. I’ve already scheduled another appointment with him to do the work I understand needs to be done.
