I have only been going to Dr. Chotiner at Coastal Dental Arts for a few weeks but he is the beat best dentist I think I’ve ever had. I usually am super anxious about needles and he made me feel so comfortable and I hardly felt a thing. He always makes sure you’re feeling okay, doesn’t try to sell you on anything you don’t need but makes sure you have the best care possible. Financially they have options to help out where you need and I don’t feel like I’m getting ripped off or overpriced on anything. The office is state of the art, beautiful views of downtown, and it makes you feel like you’re going to receive quality care. The whole staff is so warm and sweet. I really feel well taken care of here. I highly recommend Dr. David Chotiner at Coastal Dental Arts!

After going to another family dentist my whole life I took a couple years off from going to the dentist when I started living in San Diego. A chipped tooth motivated me to find a new dentist in San Diego who could help get my teeth back in good health. I used my insurance providers search to find a dentist who was close in proximity to my downtown office. I called Coastal Dental Arts and it was easy to set an appointment for that week to get my teeth diagnosed. After a thorough evaluation the doctor told me I needed not only a full crown for the chipped molar but also a bit of other work to get me back in good health. His operations manager took me in an office before I left and let me know that I actually didn’t have any dental insurance which was a major bummer. She easily and immediately got me qualified for good financing that allowed me to get all the work I needed done scheduled. The most important thing she did though was ask me “Was everyone nice to you here today?” which went a really long way with me. And of course everyone was really nice especially the hygienist that ended up doing my teeth scaling. Since getting the bulk of the work I needed done completed it feels really good to know I’ll be back to 100% in no-time. I care a lot about my health and this dentistry seems to have an invested interest in it as well. The dentistry office is really nicely designed and I was comfortable to whole time during some pretty intense procedures. Let’s be honest nobody really likes going to the dentist but I’m happy I decided to give Coastal Dental Arts a call. They are also a mostly paperless office which I respect. The doctor has a really high tech led headlamp he wears instead of the old halogen light which is cool too.

I am a person who has recently resettled in San Diego from the Los Angeles area.  Having been without a dentist for the past six months, Dr. Choitner was recommended by friends who live within our condo building in the downtown area.  The walk to his office is within five minutes.  From my first visit, I was highly impressed with Dr. Choitner’s outstanding dental skills and his very amiable personality.  All of his staff are well informed and highly skilled in assisting him.  In my 60+ years, I would say that Dr. Choitner is the best dentist I have ever had.  I couldn’t be happier to be a patient of Dr. Choitner’s and would recommend him very highly!

This was the best dental experience I’ve ever had. I don’t know what the one star people are talking about. The office was clean, everyone was friendly and Dr. Chotiner was very thorough, both in his work and explaining to me what was going to be done. I hate needles, especially in the mouth, but I seriously could not even feel the novacaine injection. I live and work nearby and the office is really convenient if you are downtown or near little italy. My old dentist was old, with old equipment and an old school way of doing things. I am really excited to find this new dentist who can now be my dentist for life.  I highly recommend this office.  The girl that cleaned my teeth also did an awesome job.

As a confirmed “dento-phobe” I had not been to a dentist in 7 years…I entered Dr. Chotiner’s office with much trepidation. While I was pleased with the professionalism and friendliness of the front office staff, and the state of the art office, my greatest concern was what would happen in the dentist’s chair. I could not be more pleased to report that Dr. Dave was sensitive to my apprehension, and was attentive, professional, and most of all, adept with his care. That was 4 years ago, and I have gone into the office for my regular cleanings and check-ups every six months and have been more than pleased with each visit. I am so thankful that Dr. Chotiner was the ONE dentist who could get me back on a regular basis. I am thankful that I can keep my smile for a lifetime. It is without hesitation that I recommend Coastal Dental Arts for your dental health care.

We moved out of state a year ago, but recently when I needed dental advice, Dr. Chotiner returned my call and was responsive and very helpful. In fact I plan to fly back to San Diego to have him do the work, because I trust him that much! Everyone we have referred in the past has enjoyed going to his office and has received the same great care we have.

We have been patients of Dr. Chotiner for 4 yrs & could not be more pleased.  His professionalism, his realistic approach for procedures & his excellent results will keep us with him.  Wendy Long, one of his dental hygienists is outstanding.  Thou rough, but gentle, she makes a procedure actually pleasant!  If you dread having a routine cleaning procedure because of past unsettling experiences, go see Wendy and your attitude and your improved dental health will be a positive result!  Coastal Dental Arts has  truly been a lifesaver for my husband and me!

Dr. Chotnier’s hygienist Stephanie is moving back home to North Dakota. She just had her second child and her husband who is also from N. Dakota, is the youngest of 10 children, and wants his children to grow up with their cousins. She worked for Dr. Chotiner for over 6 years and is sad to be leaving San Diego and such a good practice. I know this because I attended her farewell lunch last week planned by Dr. Chotiner. I worked as a temporary hygienist for a week and can give you the inside scoop. Most referrals are based on personality perceptions and the overall flow of an office. I, as a dental hygienist can see work up close and personal. Also I can tell if an office is goal based solely on production or patient care. I can only tell you what I experienced from the inside and how i felt. Every morning we have an office meeting for about 15 minutes to go over our day. I would prepare for the meeting by stating who of my patients needed x-rays and or treatment. Dr. Chotiner would then know when and why he should come in for an exam. Since I was new to the office things like latex allergies, fears, and concerns would be relayed to me, so as to offer the best care. It was also important to discuss when the best times to schedule any emergencies, and what a new patient was most concerned about before the day started. Dr. Chotiner is confident and thorough. His treatment plans are not aggressive, but are honest and clean. He truly wants the best for his patients as do the staff. His assistant Jennifer (nursing a newborn), leaves the office at 1:00 pm to attend to her motherly duties. Summer and Erika who work up front with appointments and insurance billing have 2 children of their own. Dr. Chotiner himself has 2 young children also. I do not have any children, but I find it endearing when a Dr. who is responsible for the business of teeth has the upmost respect and regard for his employees and their families. That tells me a lot about character. Now back to the ethics of dentistry and the skill of restoring teeth. It is a skill, and very detailed in nature. When preparing a tooth for a filling or crown your margins must be spot on! (by the millimeter.) This requires a finesse, repetition, skill, confidence, and a good lab. From my experience Dr. Chotiner has all five. He wants the best for his patients, employees, and is an excellent dentist and man. I have scheduled my best friend as a patient and plan on referring more. I have notihng to gain and nothing to lose by posting this review. I just wanted the public to know what is really happening.

I went in for my first deep cleaning and was pretty scared, it had been a long time. I was having both the scaling, root planning and the laser treatment in one quadrant per appointment. OH IT WENT SO WELL! I WAS MET WITH SMILING WELCOING FACES OF THE OFFICE STAFF AND MET Ally my hygienist who was so soothing, gentle, kind and had incredible skills. The numbing shot was painless and every bit of care was taken with me. I was comfortable, the bathroom was handy, and she waiting till I was completely numb which took a bit longer for me. They have an inspiring quotes on the ceiling. And a giant TV of humorous Seinfeld with captions at easy glance. I put on Beethoven 7th symph movement 2 which was very relaxing and my meditations on my mp3 and mostly closed my eyes. And while I kept deep breathing to remember to soften and relax, Ally did SUCH A GREAT JOB with all the tools and letting me know whats going on and asking me how I felt. I felt I was in such CAPABLE EXACTING CARE. While its not the funnest way to spend an hour, my only pain was my own emotional regrets at not taking better care of my teeth and gums, wishing my finances were in a better place and fears at hearing how “deep” my gumpockets were and what “could” happen. I did get some emotional relief in a Google search that night. I discovered a lady in New Zealand online called the “Holistic Tooth Fairy”. And it was so interesting reading her website, blog and videos about how gums”support” our teeth and how if emotionally in our lives we don’t feel supported, it can mirror and express physically in our gums. This so fit me and she also had a myriad of soothing techniques and pictures of both gum regeneration and bone regrowth over 4 plus months. This helped me immensely as a powerful uplifting focus of hope and possibility. As well as other practical ideas and nutrition and several books. She also mentioned “speaking your truth” as a powerful healing tool, hence my desire to write out this long review including her ideas. After the anesthetic wore off- I was a bit tender and relaxed most of the day, but it was SO MUCH BETTER than I expected. I ate some delicious pureed soups and added some collagen protein to them, and slept good and deep. I can’t recommend Ally and my Coastal Dental Arts group enough!! They are REALLY GREAT!!

I’m from Seattle Washington and was a part of “Seattle’s Top Dentist” for 11 years and am very picky being in the field ! The office is well and sufficiently staffed with knowledgeable, friendly, and caring staff! Office is state of the art and paperless! I was provided laptop for check in! X -Rays digital meaning less radiation and better diagnostic quality! The male assistant was gentle with expert hands and again very friendly! I was told since I had a history of full mouth they would write off the difference something typically not done as it’s a loss of revenue for them but a bonus for the patient. The Hygienist was amazing! Better then even my own hygienist! The Dr exam was very comprehensive and thorough and nothing missed! He takes a conservative approach and offers options! The office fees are fair if not less than most offices but the same quality of work as well as a quality lab!cost we’re thoroughly gone over ! No surprises! No pressure! Payment options! Coming from a dental assistant your in very good hands!!

I had a discount for an exam with X-Rays and a cleaning from Living Social, so I called to make an appointment to go in. In the same day they had me come in because of the slight pain and did the exam and X-Rays. It turned out that my two old amalgam fillings were bad and needed to be replaced. Although I had to reschedule for those I still had my teeth cleaned that same day as well. When I went back in for my fillings it felt like I was in and out in no time at all. It was a great experience. I would recommend this dentist to anyone because of the professionalism of the office and because of the quick and sturdy work done. The staff and Dr. Chotiner were very friendly and made my visit a breeze. I’m not sure about the other people writing reviews on here, but there are quite a bit of 5 star reviews to go along with the few bad ones as well; that’s why we get a choice of who we see though right.

The last time I had my teeth cleaned it was at a place listed on my insurance in Mira Mesa, the facility was sketchy and they told me I needed a few fillings which surprised me since my previous checkups have been good with other dentists. The cleaning hurt and it was a bad experience so I didn’t go back for the fillings and haven’t been to a dentist since. Two years later……. I decided to try out Coastal Dental Arts because is it close to where I work and they do a x-rays, checkup and cleaning for $99. It had been 2 years since my last dental appointment and I was afraid of what they might find based upon the previous dentists evaluation. Dr. Chotiner mentioned a couple area’s to monitor but didn’t feel I needed to have any dental work or fillings done (direct contradiction from the last sketchy dental place I went to). I felt he was very honest and didn’t try to “sell” me work that didn’t need. He told me about invisalign, I asked him if it would just be cosmetic or prevent other dental issues. Dr. Chotiner told me in my case it would be cosmetic and entirely up to me. The staff is great, the location is clean and has the latest technology. The dental hygienist was very gentle and was great at explaining the proper technique and importance of flossing/proper brushing without making you feel like an idiot for having not done it correctly. I highly recommend Coastal Dental Arts!

I’m so happy with my decision to come to Coastal Dental Arts. The office is clean and modern, and if you’re into golf there’s a putting green in the lobby. My hygienist is Haley – not only is she so kind and knowledgeable, but her thoroughness is the best I’ve ever had! Teeth so clean I’m like a toothpaste commercial actress. So happy to have Haley as my hygienist! I’m also in the process of doing Invisalign and Dr. Chotiner is very knowledgeable and experienced in this. Jen has been so supportive and helpful through Invisalign and associated procedures – I’m very grateful for her as well!

I am a patient of Dr Chotiner and now I’m bringing my daughters to see him. He is so great with my kids, they felt comfortable and safe there. His staff did an outstanding job with my kids too. Every time I go there it is such a wonderful experience. The dental hygienist went over step by step how to brush so the kids understand. The dentist Dr Chotiner then came in and explained each case to me , told me exactly what needs to be done and I was set up already for our next appt My daughter even told me that this dentist is such a “happy and relaxing place”Thank I’m so glad that now I am bringing my kids here.

Could not be more impressed!  Dr. Chotiner and his staff are professional, competent, organized, efficient, courteous and fast!  His work is top notch and his surgeon, Dr. Mac is also fantastic. I know every patient is unique yet I had NO pain after an implant.. very happy about that!   His office is very clean and updated… looks great!  He also has the newer X ray unit that does not hurt the roof of your mouth like most other places. Very nice!!!   I can not thank them all enough!!!

Dirty mouth, nasty swollen gums, a head full of bone impacted wisdom teeth & dental anxiety. I don’t trust dentists, I says. My teeth look okay, you wouldn’t know from the outside the dangers which lurk within, I rationalized. My friend talked me into going here “for a deep cleaning.” Since it was only $99 and included Xrays, I agreed. It was surprisingly cool… Dr. Chotiner took color pictures of my teeth with a tiny camera and showed them to me on a large screen. The cleaning was gentle and removed the stains from my teeth. My jaw has been causing me pain for years, day and night. Because Coastal Dental has an interest free payment plan I decided it was time to pull the bone impacted wisdom teeth! Oral surgery! I was really scared and showed up wearing heels… like a dummy. The last thing I remember before the IV took effect was Dr. Mac telling me that his brother was an architect. Then he nudged me and I mumbled something like “please get it over with.” It was already done! less than 20 minutes. It doesnt really hurt either, that same day I was up watching movies and enjoying “poor me” attention from all of my friends. Its been 3 days and I haven’t needed to take the Vicodin. Its not as bad as living with bleeding gums and painful teeth. He let me keep the teeth too, which came out whole, as a momento of the event. I would recommend going here if you’re skurred of the dentist, also I had a pretty good experience with their oral surgery.

Dr. Chotiner and his entire team are truly the best in the business. I initially resisted seeing any dentist after retiring from the military, let alone investing in things like Invisalign. I now realize the critical role dental health and this treatment has in my overall health and wish I had followed all of his advice sooner. I appreciate the explanation of all the work I’ve had done here and how its part of a comprehensive plan for my longevity. I highly recommend this team and glad I found them from reviews like this. Teresa has also been amazing helping me navigate what care plans are right for me and getting me set up.

Dr. Chotiner and his staff are the best. Dr. Chotiner takes the time to make sure you understand exactly what he’s doing and why and works with you to create a plan to fit your needs. He is honest and cares about the quality of care he delivers. I just went for the first time to his new office space (he was on the ground floor and is now on the 8th) and it is a beautiful calm and clean office space with state of the art equipment and a beautiful view! After dealing with some really horrible and dishonest dentists here in San Diego (and there are many) I highly recommend Dr. Chotiner.

Dr. Chotiner delivers world-class dental care right here in San Diego! I am a new patient  having moved to the area from the East Coast and my recent visits have been exceptional.  Dr. Chotiner is extremely knowledgable and quite personable as well, with years of experience he provides the best treatment plan and executes on that plan flawlessly.  His dedicated team and staff (Jen, Noel, Sandy, Erica, Ashley, Haley, and Venessa) are extremely professional, client focused and deliver personalized care which is truly top-shelf.  I would highly recommend Dr. Chotiner to anyone and everyone, he has an extremely steady hand and is one of the best dentists in my experience. Thanks again Doc!

I have been a patient at Coastal Dental Arts for over six years, and I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Chotiner and his staff. I have complete trust in each and every professional there. I am just about to move to Chicago, and I am devastated that I will no longer be taken care of by Dr. Chotiner and his team. I will be lucky to find a dentist half as good. My teeth have always needed a lot of work – fillings, crowns, special cleanings, etc. – and everything Dr. Chotiner has done has not only been high quality, but it has been pain-free! I don’t even feel the numbing needle ever, and when Dr. Chotiner works, he is calm and confident. He is personable and understanding as well, and will listen to any concern you have, whether it be about pain, money, or future treatments. You can tell he really knows his stuff. He always gives you all of your options up front as well – some of which include waiting to treat (he doesn’t put on pressure like many dentists do). He doesn’t do work just because. Every filling or crown I have had put on I know has needed to be put on to prevent further damage, and I have really felt looked out for in that way. He also has always been able to work me into his schedule on short notice, and I always appreciate that. I never have to wait more than a few days if I need to have more work done after a cleaning. I loved the old hygienist Stephanie, but the new one, Wendy, is just awesome. I had a cleaning with her just three weeks after giving birth to my second baby, and I just lost it and broke down when I was told I would need to have a consult with a periodontist. But Wendy was compassionate and understanding. She talked me through everything and listened to me as though I was her friend and not someone she just met. She just made me feel better about everything, AND she suggested a night mouth guard to prevent further damage (I now will not ever sleep without my mouth guard). She too knows her stuff, and she too did not ever make me feel pressured to spend money unnecessarily. She told me that if I didn’t want to invest in a mouth gaurd that day then I could always buy a universal one for much cheaper at a drug store to hold me off for a little while. I ended up getting the real thing, but I was really impressed by the fact that she put herself in my shoes and REALLY tried thinking about all of the things that I could do to help myself. FINALLY, the girls up front are amazing. They are cheerful, fun, and on the ball. They always show you the payment plan before you agree to anything. AND they babysat my son while I had a filling and a crown put on. What other dental office will be so happy to accommodate you like that? And my son had the time of his life over there! No one ever made me feel bad for having to bring him in. They suggested it right away. This office really puts the patient first. I didn’t mean to write so much, but I couldn’t help it. Thank you Dr. Chotiner and team. You will be missed!!

Love CDA! The Dr. and staff are very friendly and welcoming. I recommend this dental office to everyone! I’m not sure why people are complaining about their fillings. The Dr. only uses the white composite fillings which are WAY better that the silver. The composite fillings restore most of the original strength of the tooth. Silver weakens the teeth, making them more susceptible to breaking. Since broken teeth are very expensive to restore, composites can save a lot of expense over the long run. I would rather suffer through a few months of sensitive teeth than have broken and cracked teeth.

I’ve been coming to Coastal Dental Arts for almost 10 years and they have remained consistent with amazing service and care. They are always thorough in explaining procedures and take the time to review all details. Their office on street level was impressive and always in perfect shape, now that they’ve moved up stairs it’s better than ever! This goes to show that they care about the customer experience investing in the atmosphere and overall comfort for their patients. I would recommend them to all of my friends and family!

I have been a dental assistant of Dr.Chotiner for a month … Before I worked in an office that was not ethical, the Dr. (Unnamed) pressured employees and made us do things that were ilegal , even gave patients information that was not necessary and treatments not needed at all just to get more money and earn more fame … When I started working at Coastal Dental Arts , I realized that there some doctors that are honest , ethical , responsible , understandable and especially always help and educate patients why oral hygine is important and not just want to take money out of your pocket. Dr. Chotiner besides being a good dentist, he’s a great human being and very professional and if he’s professional… all his staff is professional too and we always try and make patients feel comfortable with us and always help, educate and serve them as they deserve… FULLY RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE !

My experience is that Dr. Chotiner and his staff are highly proficient and have sincere concern for their patients. The doctor recommended to have a look under a bridge. I was going to put it off because I was not feeling any pain. After Dr Chotiner expressed real concern, I decided to go ahead with the procedure. What he found underneath was a rotting tooth and was able to perform a root canal in his office. His concern more than likely saved me money. I highly recommend Dr Chotiner.

If you choose this or any dentist because of his Yelp rating, you’re a fool. Choosing a dentist, or doctor, or lawyer, or any professional requires more due diligence than reading a few reviews and picking the person that sounds the most well-liked. That’s the way we choose class presidents in the third grade, not service providers. But if you are someone looking for a dentist who knows his craft, and won’t waste your time with false promises or poor results, pay a visit to Dr. Chotiner. His office is state-of-the-art. The front desk staff is friendly but professional. Both he and his staff are thorough and caring. If you don’t have dental insurance, like me, he offers his own plan that will save you money. While I don’t need Invisalign, Dr. Chotiner can provide that service as well, Why live with crooked teeth? Only Austin Powers can get away with that….

I always dread going to the dentist, like most normal people, but really liked the feel and hospitality at this office. The front staff is very nice and Jenna knew the ins and outs of my insurance, helping me choose the best treatment plan for my insurance. Dr. Chotiner was really nice and straight forward and helped me make the best decisions for my teeth with the money I had. I HATE needles, but he is really good at making the novocaine injections seem like a walk in the park (i.e. no tears from me). I thanked him for not hurting me and he thanked me for being a great patient. Jose was very helpful, answered all of my questions and was very clear with me on how to take care of my temporary crowns, what to watch for, etc. Scheduled a cleaning and actually can’t wait. Best dental experience for me ever. Very happy I found them.

I must say that Coastal Dental Arts is really doing a great job, especially with all the hoops they have had to jump through during this pandemic. It’s obviously already a super-sterile place, but they really have a great system, so if you’re hesitant about getting your dental care taken care of, do not wait and go now, they really have it all squared away and will handle business. I have been going to this practice since Dr. Dave opened and I must say I feel spoiled being able to be a patient & customer there. Doctor-Dave is always ready to attack the mission and get your teeth where they need to be, which is to keep them in your head. Coastal Dental Arts has a beautiful 8th floor dental office, top of the line dentist and staff. Today I want to extol on the virtues and class that my dentist possesses. David Chotiner, is an impeccably dressed dentist, a well groomed & manicured man of integrity and intensity. He proudly displays his framed degree and credentials in his waiting room. I guess one thing that stands out to me about David, is that he has always WANTED to be a dentist since he was just a child, there is just something so special about this, some chuckle or write that off, but what did you want to be as kid? a ballerina? There is personal-vintage artwork done by him, of when he was a child displaying his curiosity and desire to become a dentist. This simply cannot be taught, he is passionate about what he does, and that passion comes through when he is handling business. I’d venture to say it would be safe to assume most dentists have to WANT to be a dentist. But his passion for perfection is very apparent while attending an appointment. Here is the thing, if you take away just one fricken thing from this review, PLEASE remember this. Dr. Chotiner is at his practice every-damn-day, early. He deals with everything from actually performing big time dental procedures, invisaline shit, fillings, crowns, root canals, whatever else dentists do all day, including dealing with product, technology, outside agencies & insurance issues. He has a whole staff that he manages. The entire business is on his shoulders. I am not asking for you to feel sorry for him however, keep in mind he is drilling a tooth or dealing with serious procedures. He isn’t ALLOWED to have a “bad day” or an “oops” Think about working in someones mouth…with a drill, that is no-shit pressure, sharp things in tight places with that person with their tongue flopping about like Mr. Ed, yeah he does that everyday. Rank breath, rotted teeth, shitty customers that do not want to pay. And in all this craziness, he still finds time to say hello, ask you how you are doing, catch up with your jacked up teeth that are fucked up because you eat bit-o-honeys all day and drink gallons of red wine, then bitch about the 103 dollars your insurance didn’t cover. What amazes me most about Dave, is that he is learning, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, learning NEVER ENDS. EVER it is for the rest of his life, until he retires or dies. Would I recommend Dave, you bet your ass I would. Dude is serious about teeth and knows his shit. I would also recommend my hygienist Haley too SHE IS GREAT!and she keeps my teeth clean and in my dome.

Dr. Chotiner and his professional staff are wonderful! I appreciate their explanations of certain procedures that need to be done and why as well as what my insurance will cover. Marissa is always so welcoming and the office has a great set up! Dr. Chotiner uses the latest technology and keeps you relaxed while in the chair. I’ve never felt uncomfortable or nervous while in his office. I appreciate that tremendously! That’s something that not all offices have accomplished by any means. I trust his judgment and work. I’d recommend Coastal Dental Arts to anyone searching for a professional and modern dental office!

I started coming to Doctor Chotiner five years ago after a horrible experience with a previous (and unnamed) Dentist in the area. He was so thorough on my initial examination date and took the time to sit with me and explain all of the treatment I needed. The thing I really liked that set this Doctor apart from other Dentists I’ve been to in the area was that he just stuck to exactly what I needed done. He didn’t try to tell me about unnecessary things like cosmetics or add-ons, it was just strictly the necessary work. After talking with the Doctor I met with the Operations Manager. She looked into my insurance for me and was able to give me an estimate as to what my insurance would cover and what my out of pocket would be. Because I have two small children at home, obviously out of pocket expenses are a concern for me. I told her what I could afford to pay monthly and luckily for me she helped me get into a payment plan that works for my family and I. After undergoing treatment I was able to finish up my monthly payments and decided to go ahead with Invisalign! Because I had initially signed up for monthly payments I was able to utilize my Care Credit card for my invisalign treatment too! I was so happy that I was not only able to get the work done that I needed, but now I am able to get the work done that I WANTED! I sent my husband, children, and mother to Dr. Chotiner as well. There is no other Doctor I trust to do my work and take care of my friends and family. If you’re looking for someone who is honest, upfront, and flexible – this is the place you should go. It’s just an added bonus that the staff members are so friendly, so accommodating, and tech savvy. The facility is brand new and it’s so nicely decorated, modern, and impeccably clean. Anytime I ever had a scheduling conflict or a question about insurance his staff always takes the time to help me understand.

That time of year again….. teeth cleaning! I always panic and get extreme anxiety over having my teeth cleaned. For as long as I can remember I MUST have laughing gas for a teeth cleaning (yes just a teeth cleaning, you can stop laughing now) I went to Dr. Chotiner and had X-rays, exam and cleaning. X-rays: normally I almost choke and gag on the adapter but the technician was so quick I didn’t have any issues. Exam: informative and painless. I need an implant done (previous issue) and will be scheduling that in the near future. He even recommended an oral surgeon for me. Cleaning: here is about the usual time I leap out of the chair, dig my nails into the arm rest or keep raising my hand because I think every movement will cause pain……. the technician asked if we would try no laughing gas. (Internally I wanted to cry like a 6 year old) but I told her suuuuure???? She used the electric hand scaler and went to work. She was so gentle and made sure that every time she moved to another place she gave me a little break. She was good at making sure the suction was on point and not causing me to drown! LOL This was the first time I had a cleaning with ZERO LAUGHING GAS and it won’t be the last. If you have anxiety like me then this is the place to go. They have funny quotes on the ceiling to take your mind off of what’s going on and also a TV in the room. Did I mention it’s in the heart of downtown, great views and the entire facility is new with a putting green in the lobby??!! On a side note I don’t have dental insurance, this place offered in house dental coverage with payment plans that allow me to still come in twice a year for cleanings, exams and X-rays and I get discounts on other services.

Best dental office by far I’ve ever been to. Dr. Chotiner and his staff are great. I never wait more than 5 mins in the lobby! What stood out to me and which is the reason why I felt compelled to write a review is because of my last visit. I brought my 2 month old daughter to my appt with me in hopes she would sleep through my appt and that was not the case! She was teetering on the edge of a melt down. While I was getting my teeth cleaned and I was stuck in the chair trying to soothe my daughter in the stroller next to me, a young lady who works there came up and asked if I minded if she pushed her around. She pushed her around the office for about 15 mins and put my daughter right to sleep! I thought that was so sweet of her to go above and beyond her job to help me out while I was stressing if I was going to make it through my appt with a crying baby. I highly recommend this dental office. You won’t regret it!

Coastal Dental Arts My husband and I first went to see Dr. Chotiner at Coastal Dental Arts out of convenience over a decade ago. They’ve taken exceptional care of us both and our two sons ever since. Chottiner and his team are consummate professionals and run a very tight ship – none of which prevents them from delivering the most concerned, customized personal care imaginable. If you want a beautiful smile, strong teeth and healthy gums, look no further
