WOW WOW WOW WOW!! Now, I didn’t want to write a review, because I wanted to see how my teeth and the entire experience would turn out, but I’m COMPLETELY amazed by his work!! 😀 SO HAPPY I came across him on yelp– so happy 🙂 I never wanted to smile and was ALWAYS in tooth pain!! Well, I guess that’s what happens when I don’t see a dentist in YEARS! But this amazing doctor not only straightened my super embarrassing crooked teeth, but he also took care of the overall health of my teeth!! I was VERY relieved, because my tooth health was REALLY bad! SOOOOOOOOO GLAD he was able to see me right away 😀 I gave him a call, and he set my appointment the following week– like wow wow! 🙂 and let me tell you, he was very friendly– just so easy to speak to 🙂 it made me feel really good and confident about my appointment 😀 Dr. Derek told me I had 3 cavities, MAJOR swollen gums, and of course the SUPER obvious — my embarrassing crooked teeth! Oh, and not ever having my teeth cleaned professionally for YEEEEEEEARS was really bad too!! Yeah– it wasn’t good!! But I felt REALLY good in Dr. Derek’s hands and spent a year under his AMAZING care!! And I’m soooooooo HAPPY I did — because now, my teeth are beauuuuuuutiful!! 😀 I want to smile all day and ALL NIGHT!! I probably smile when I’m sleeping!! Because now, guess what 🙂 I have NO CAVITIES 😀 , my gums are SUPER HEALTHY looking and they don’t bleed anymore 😀 No more bloody gums for meeeeeee 😀 YAY! My teeth are AMAZINGLY straight!! I keep looking at my teeth, because I can’t believe how STRAIGHT they look!! I actually don’t fear going to see the dentist anymore, especially now that it’s Dr. Derek. I’m maintaining my beautiful teeth now, by going to regular cleanings 2x a year.
Right away, I felt super confident under his care, because you can just tell he’s INCREDIBLY smart, and super knowledgeable when it comes to everything dental 🙂 You can really tell he cares about building a trusting relationship with you, and he will patiently guide you to make sure your teeth look PHENOMENAL.
I’m in love with my teeth! 😀 I feel confident to do a tooth commercial! Haha 😀 So, I’m always flossing my teeth now and brushing them 2-3x a day, because I want my teeth to stay like this forever!! 🙂 I’d go visit him, because you walk into the office, and the entire staff is SOOOOOOO professional and welcoming — they just make you smile right away! The office also has the technology state of the art equipment 😀 I can’t express enough how Dr. Derek has made me a VERY VEEEEEEEERY HAPPY GIRL 🙂 Dr. Derek EXUDES passion for making the most beautiful smiles ever!! I highly HIGHLY recommend Dr. Derek if you want a smile that everyone compliments you on, because I have received soooooooo many compliments about my teeth!! It’s incredible how my life has changed and improved with Dr. Derek! I couldn’t be more grateful. Side Note : if anybody wants to use me in a tooth commercial, I’m readyyyyyyy 😀 so I posted pictures to show I’m ready to be televised 😀 oh yeah :

5+ Stars for Dr.Duong and his staff. I had a deep cavity that other dentists weren’t completely comfortable treating (probably somewhat due to my fear of potentially needing at Dentist). With that said, its been about a a months since the cavity was replaced, and it’s feeling AMAZING with no issues. Dr.Duong even reinforced the walls of the tooth/cavity for extra support. Dr.Duong is specialized in the area of dental implant, bone expansion, restorations,oral surgery, and surgical microscope. He took his time and didn’t rush the numbing process, which made it a pleasant experience. In fact, he doesn’t rush any part of the procedure, which I appreciate fully. The staff was a wonderful and I brought them a pizza for lunch. If you’re looking for a new or better dentist, try Coastal Dental Group. 110% Highly Recommended.

I have been to many different dentist in my lifetime. Dr. Duong is one of the best I have encountered. He is very thorough in explaining the procedure needed and is very exacting in getting it done correctly. I don’t think I have met a better dentist, and I have known graduates from MIT and many excellent dentists around the country. You will not be disappointed with him.

I was very fortunate to speak with the wonderful Suzzana regarding an urgent situation. She and Dr. Duong worked with me over the phone to coordinate a plan for coming in. It was the Holiday week and everyone was away from the office. These professionals went out of their way to assist me. I can’t say enough nice things about this team. In the end, we were not able to keep the appointment, but let’s just say that if they are this awesome with getting you setup for a visit then imagine their awesomeness when you go there! Take care of your teeth folks!!!

I’ve been going to Coastal Dental Group for a few years now. I must say that, Dr. Doung and Dr. Phan are professional and are very knowledgeable on what they do. I highly recommend them! Dr. Doung is a funny cool guy, who likes to make sure his patients feel comfortable. If you are looking for dental implants you would want to consider this place! Overall, the dental office is always very clean and the staff is friendly… Susana does an awesome job in the front desk, I admire her hard work and skills! This practice accepts most insurances and has flexible scheduling. 🙂

Derek and Sandy have helped me overcome the fear of dentists. Having grown up with terrible experiences with numerous dentists, I avoided going to the dentist at all cost. It wasn’t until I was having symptoms of periodontal disease did I decide to seek dental help. First, I tried DIY over-the-counter kits like TheraBreath gum disease. It helped reduce the bleeding but couldn’t rid it completely so I knew that I needed to seek professional help. The first visit brought back all the childhood anxiety of going to the dentist, but Derek’s humor alongside Sandy’s calm and gentle dental skills helped restore my faith in dentistry. I’ve gotten my periodontal disease under control and have continued regular visits here. I highly recommend Costal Dental Group!

I have been a patient of Dr. Derek Duong for the past 10 years and I have never trusted any dentist more than him. Unfortunately, I have very bad teeth and have had numerous experiences with different dentists and no one has been as thorough/precise as Dr. Duong. He’s a man of science and he’s not in the business of being a pushy salesperson with unnecessary sales tactics. Coastal Group has a great staff and they are very helpful. I would follow Dr. Duong anywhere he goes!

After graduated from dental school, Dr Duong established "Coastal Dental Group" in 2002. He then went on to complete a year long Maxi-course for hands-on surgical and restorative implant training. Dr Duong's experiences and interests are in the area of bone expansion or bone manipulation techniques and minimal invasive sinus grafting or bone grafting with Advanced PRF (platelets rich fibrin) or Third generation PRF, and/or CGF for implant placement. He also completed an advance hands-on clinical training in restorations and dental implants.
