I am so lucky to have been directed to Dr Numa Cobb, Jr. for treatment of TMJ. For over one year I was having severe pain due to TMJ, resulting in limited mouth opening. My diet consisted of soft foods only (forcing most of it in my mouth with my fingers). My sleep was interrupted and the pain was excruciating. My dentist had replaced my old fillings prior to this pain so I immediately went to see him. I ask my dentist to remove them or pull my teeth. Thank goodness he didn’t! I was referred to a mayofacial clinic in Raleigh, but with not much help, I continued to seek answers. My weight loss had become very noticeable and a friend (who I owe my current life to) told me to check with Dr Cobb, a specialist in TMJ and right here in Greensboro!!!! Prior to my first office visit with Dr Cobb I had spent several thousands of dollars. I was reluctant to seek yet another opinion or treatment. But, my first office visit with Dr Cobb was one of hope (I cried). He knew what I needed immediately and treatment began. Dr Cobb’s mouth guard design is correcting my bite and allowing me to sleep without waking in pain. I am eating larger portions of food. I feel so much better and even able to exercise again. It has been 2 months now that I have been wearing the brace 24 hours, removing it only when eating. The brace isn’t noticeable to others. It took me a few days to figure out where my tongue should be placed while talking but it worked itself out! I am a nurse. My patients notice it only when I laugh (which is often these days). I am able to sleep through the night again (without medication), eating again (not back to normal but better – my first bite of steak in a year, last week) and I am enjoying life again.

Had a consult 1 year ago with Dr. Cobb and we discussed treatment options. Then COVID-19 took place and therefore I made a personal decision to wait to proceed. Revisited him about 1 year later and proceeded with plans discussed 1 year ago. Dr. Cobb and staff are pleasant and easy to work with. Very pleased and satisfied with experience thus far. I look forward to proceeding with ongoing treatment. P.S. prices and payment schedule are very reasonable.

The staff feels like family and are there every step of your journey making sure you love your smile as much as they do when the process is complete!
