I have been seeing Dr.Ali Sarkarzadeh for more than a decade now, and that was based on my late mother’s recommendation (herself a long time patient). I have always found him to be dedicated, thorough, and a genuinely nice man who fully explains every detail of every procedure. Many years ago, I was exposed to several different dentists and groups. There is absolutely no comparison to my experiences with them and my experience with Dr. Sarkarzadeh, both in the level of competency and the drastic difference in the fairness of the billing. I have always found Doctor S. to be honest and straightforward in both his services and billing, and I am rather shocked to see a negative review of him and his practice. I can only assume that this other reviewer didn’t have much experience with dentistry!

I started going to Congressional Dental Care years ago because it was convenient to my place of employment. Now, I’m a dedicated patient because of the quality care and service I receive. I don’t dread the visit. I’ve been a patient for years and wouldn’t go anywhere else or trust another dentist to do my dental work. The office is bright and clean and you don’t sit for an eternity in the reception area waiting for service. Excellent and professional service–everyone–receptionist, dental hygienist, and doctor. The doctor is outstanding! I’ve had fillings, crowns, bridgework and I’ve never had one regrettable, painful experience. The doctor provides details on your dental health and explains recommended future treatment to keep your mouth healthy. The doctor is very friendly and caring and puts you at ease. I highly recommend this dental office–especially for the skeptics.

What a wonderful experience. The front desk staff is not only professional and friendly, but efficient and kind. The x-ray technician was fabulous. The dental hygentst was great… best dental cleaning I have ever had. And Dr. S is a pro with great professionalism and friendliness. The office is beautifully decorated with fun art on the walls. Definitely recommend!

Having been through six dentists in my life and having multiple friends become dentists, I can say that no one even comes close to Dr. Sarkar’s level of professionalism, care, skill and friendliness. He fixed mistakes from years ago and helped my mother tremendously. I would not see another dentist in the DMV. He is not only the best dentist I have ever had, he is a role model for every doctor. I relocated to Italy and the thing I miss most about DC is…my dentist. Yes, that is how good Dr. Sarkar and his team are. I will schedule my appointments around my flights home.

This dental practice is great! Dr. Sarkar is highly-skilled, conscientious, and always answers my many questions patiently and honestly. I never feel rushed as he allots plenty of time for each patient. Galina is an excellent hygienist, and I look forward to seeing her every six months for my cleanings. The lovely ladies at the desk are helpful and good-natured, and they handle the billing and insurance competently and efficiently. The office is clean and well-lit, and the waiting area chairs are comfortable. I moved last year to northern VA from Takoma Park, but I stayed with Congressional Dental Care despite the longer drive. They are that good!

I’ve been seeing Dr sarkarzadeh for over 8 years and he is the absolute best dentist I’ve ever had. He has a great “bed-side” manner and explains everything he’s doing while your mouth is wide open. He excells at everything whether it’s a filling, fixing a broken tooth, crowns, and caps. I get my teeth cleaned by Galina, who is also fantastic and entertaining. You will never want another dentist after you experience the kind professional mastery of Dr Sarkarzadeh.

Over 10 years ago, I had braces. For some reason, my lost retainers were never replaced and so my teeth shifted back. What a waste! Not only did I develop a terrible overbite, my teeth became overcrowded. My mother convinced me to get braces again last year. I didn’t find them necessary and I wasn’t known to smile much anyway. But then I found Dr. Sarkarzadeh. I chose to go with ceramic braces because they were less visible than traditional metal braces. Exactly one year later, my teeth showed an AMAZING improvement. For 12 months, Dr Sarkarzadeh and his staff worked on my teeth. Even when he wasn’t personally adjusting my braces, he would touch base and check her staff’s work. Dr. Wiltshire herself is a very knowledgeable, and very nice orthodontist. The office is very flexible when making and changing appointments. I tend to schedule my appointments before busy hours (late afternoon and onward). His office is walking distance to metro which makes it super convinient. I no longer hide my smile or laughter behind my hand. Thanks to Dr. Sarkarzadeh, I have more confidence. Who doesn’t like that?

I loved my visit with Congressional Dental! Normally I’m a little weary about visiting a new dentist or going to the dentist’s office in general but Dr. Sarkarzadeh was so personable and welcoming it was a decision that I do not regret! The office came highly recommended by a close friend, so I called to schedule. It was very easy to find the office and there’s ample parking all over with no fee for parking. The front desk staff was very welcoming and warm and it was so easy to check in for my appointment. During the visit, I was happy to find that he was not one of those dentists that rush you out and speed through your appointment. Dr. Sarkarzadeh took the time to address issues that I had with my teeth and also re-educate me on different techniques to keep my teeth clean and healthy. Best of all I got to go home with a bag of goodies and a new toothbrush! I would highly recommend this office, it made me actual enjoy a process that I normally dread! I will definitely be back!

I have been going to congressional dental care for the past 10 years, have had a lot of work done by Dr. Sarkarzadeh, he has always been the most pleasant dentist. I always have a great experience going to his office , his staff is always very nice , courteous , helpfull. it is always a great feeling going to Congressional Dental Care.

Highly satisfied with the dental care I get here. Guys, thanks for putting up with me over the years – I can be such a needy patient. Dr. Ali is awesome and Galina the hygienist is a dream. Everyone is laid-back and I’ve been happy with my dental care (cleanings, fillings, night-guard, nothing major). What I appreciate most is that the dentist just tells it to me straight and doesn’t try to sell me on anything. Ever. Over the years I’ve asked him about freaking everything: should I get my teeth bonded? What about veneers? Why are my teeth so tiny? Why is my bite so messed up? What should I do about my jaw pain? He’s a conservative dude and if I have a non-general issue he sends me to a specialist to get a second opinion. He’s actually looking out for me, not just trying to make a buck. I appreciate it because other offices try to sell me on expensive procedures that I don’t actually need. Getting an appointment is relatively easy but be warned that you’ll probably get lost the first time you go there, it’s tucked away behind the Hilton. I’ve been a patient for around seven years and hope I never have to switch!

For me Congressional dental is one of the best in the entire area. Dr.Sakarzadeh and Dr Farzin are the combination you need for implants. They are highly dependable, very courteous and well trained as well as the staff working with them. I have also done crowns and used other services from that clinic and have always been impressed by the high degree of professionalism combined with courtesy. A very pleasant experience overall.

Did someone on here honestly complain that the dentist basically did too much? People just love an excuse to complain… Anyway, this place is great! And for the record, my teeth were cleaned by the hygienist, who was a wonderfully pleasant woman. The front desk/support staff was wonderful too. They are knowledgable and upfront about costs. They definitely understand the importance of customer service – which goes a long way in a field that generally requires a fair amount of out-of-pocket cost. Dr. Sarkarzadeh is awesome! He’s easy going and smart. I’m making my husband switch to this practice and when my baby finally gets some teeth, he’s going here too. The greatest part for me is that no one shamed me for going so long between visits to the dentist (I mean, really long). So needless to say, I needed some cavities taken care of (which went swimmingly) and I’m getting my wisdom teeth yanked in a few weeks. I’m completely confident the oral surgeon will do a great job based solely on my respect for and confidence in Dr. Sarkarzadeh.

How good is Dr. S? All three of my kids actually like going to the dentist – that’s how good he is. My 9-year-old had a cavity at her last checkup, and when we came back to get it fixed, he was so great with her. She was terrified and about to cry, but he worked with her, encouraging her throughout, and when it was done, she left smiling – well, smiling as best she could while still being numb from the Novocaine.

Puja L. from Rockville, MD (Source: Yelp)

I hate going to the dentist.  But I really enjoyed coming here.  Now, granted, that may be because all I did was sit and talk to the dentist – but I loved that I could even do that!  The last dentist I went to (to whom I paid quite a bit of money because she was not in my insurance network) only came to talk to me for a couple minutes on each visit, and really made the whole thing feel like a business.  They tried to sell me stuff to build my enamel back (which most dentists agree is not really possible) and other such ridiculous things. I like Dr.S a lot.  Really friendly and personable, and really just left this place super happy.  Which does NOT happen for me at dentists’ offices.

My dental hygenist was very good–checked in multiple times to make sure I was comfortable, worked fast, and was very friendly. My dentist was similarly friendly, raised some concerns about my teeth and gave some suggestions to monitor some problem spots rather than immediately jumping in to “drill, baby, drill,” which I appreciated. Great experience overall.

Erica M. from Derwood, MD (Source: Yelp)

I usually have a skeptical view of dentists and it’s never really been a pleasant experience before, but everyone at this place was so nice, welcoming, and avoided judgments. They genuinely just want to make sure your teeth are in good care and that your insurance covers a good deal of the expenses. Everyone is very easy going and they send you reminders, via phone and email, of  your appointment times. I highly recommend going here, they’re great!

This is such a good dental center! My husband had lots of travel, but they fit him into the schedule on short notice, did the periodontal work that we’ve been trying to resolve for two years (and did it well – 4 months later, still no problems at all!), were clear about how billing would work, and resubmitted our claims to insurance to check if they could get us any more coverage. their location is also great – right across the street from Twinbrook Metro (through the small back lot, cross the street, and you’re there!)

Dr. Sarkarzadeh, is a very excellent dentist. I have had several procedures done by him, over the last few years, including several fillings, crowns, a root canal, and an extraction, and each time the procedure was an absolute success. He is always very kind and patient and seemingly relaxed, always making it easy for me to also relax, but he is also thorough with information as to what to expect and why the procedure is needed, including pictures and x-rays showing the problems. Also the office always works very well with my dental insurance, and in most cases, my insurance was able to cover the full price. And the staff is also always very pleasant and accommodating as well. I would highly recommend this dentistry office to anyone who needs help with their teeth,

Dr. Sarkarzadeh is amazing. He was so patient and descriptive. He allowed me the option to choose what procedure I wanted done. He kept me inform during and after the procedure. I was so scared of what the outcome would be and he understood and made me feel calm.

About a year ago, I was confronted with my first major dental issue. I decided to give Congressional Dental Care a call, because they were offering a first time patient deal on cleanings and x-rays. On the day of my appointment, I was pretty anxious, but it turned out to be a good experience. The office is really nice and peaceful, and they have TVs everywhere, which I love because they are a great distraction. The best part about Congressional Dental is the dentist. Dr. Sarkarzadeh is really nice, and he does not pressure you into anything. He simply explains your options, and lets you decide what you want to do. After about a month without improvement, I decided to move forward with the procedure. To my surprise, the procedure ended up being quick and 100% pain free. The recovery was also relatively quick and painless. The other great thing about Congressional Dental is its admin staff. The admin staff at Congressional Dental is very nice, professional and competent. I appreciate how they run the office smoothly and efficiently, so you can just focus on your dental issue. I recently came across a similar dental problem to the one I had a year ago, but this time, I did not hesitate to have the procedure done, because my previous experience was very positive. My recent experience was just as positive, and I am very grateful to Dr. Sarkarzadeh and his staff. I highly recommend Congressional Dental Care for their nice, helpful and highly competent staff, and I look forward to using them in the future.

My husband and I went here for an impacted wisdom tooth extraction and a root canal. They are excellent! Very good at what they do and they make sure you aren’t in any pain. They even do follow up visits to make sure everything is healing nicely. Just be aware that they need payment in full upfront (with reimbursement from your insurance).

It was with no small degree of trepidation that I made my first visit to Congressional Dental Care a couple weeks ago, and it will be with a great deal more that I’ll be back there tomorrow. But that’s the point of these five stars: after a decade of woefully neglecting my teeth, the fact that I am returning to a dental office, as it turns out to begin a brutally costly series of treatments, stands as the highest tribute I can pay to the quality of care and service I received at Congressional Dental on my first visit. From the moment I entered the practice’s quietly attractive office, I was made to feel at ease. Everyone I encountered at Congressional Dental exuded professionalism, efficiency, and competence, but just as conducive to the good first impression was how just plain nice each individual seemed, from the welcoming receptionist to Maria, the wonderfully personable technician who took my mouthloads of digital x-rays with notably gentle care, to Naz, the director of operations who thoroughly explained the cost options of each prospective procedure, to the quite impressive Dr. Ali Sarkarzadeh himself, who made clear precisely why each procedure will be necessary with a welcome absence of tsk-tsking. I am not the least bit happy about any of what is to come for my mouth over the next few–I hope!–weeks, but at least I feel confident that I made a fine choice of dentist in Dr. Sarkarzadeh. From the very first, his good humor and obvious smarts made me feel both comfortable and not condescended to, and he delivered what was in truth very bad news about my periodontal health in a way that made my prospects for dealing with it seem both undeniably urgent and also somehow less terrifying. What’s more, with dazzlingly efficient clarity Dr. Sarkarzadeh detailed precisely how counterproductively I’ve been brushing my teeth this last half-century, explained exactly how to do so, and since I have conscientiously remade my dental toilette into a downright Zen-like experience, caressing each tooth with gossamer-soft bristles in a delicate round sweep rather than violently scrubbing back and forth and ripping my own enamel off–which is not how Dr. Sarkarzadeh put it. Among the reasons I like him as a dentist is that he didn’t make me feel nearly as embarrassed by my poor dental habits as I should. What I liked best, however, was the matter-of-fact way he asked what my immediate goal for the visit was, before seeing the myriad horrors evidenced by my full-mouth x-rays. After all, I had gone to Congressional Dental Care that day solely because a foul back molar had shattered days before into such a sharp shard it had lacerated my tongue into pullulating agony–and within minutes of my saying so, Dr. Sarkaradzeh had slickly ground my razor-sharp remaining molar down to a nice rounded lump that instantly relieved the ulceration to my tongue. Alas, it is with genuine distress that I have to accept that the tooth cannot be saved, but I feel certain that Dr. Sarkarzadeh knows his stuff, and thus tomorrow morning I will be returning to Congressional Dental Care to have my hopeless molar extracted. After that I face deep periodontal scalings that promise to be as painful financially as they will physically, a mouthful of fillings for an embarrassing array of self-inflicted cavities, and the fitting of pricey occlusal guards to stop my grinding my teeth at night, which will no doubt prove even more necessary given the fresh stress over my dental health and how I’m going to pay for all this. But again, the point of these five stars is that I am indeed undertaking this hideous dental adventure I have dreaded for a decade, and that is simply because Dr. Sarkarzadeh and his staff made it clear that I must via thorough explanations and evidence, while putting me enough at ease to make the prospects tolerable. I quite like that no one at Congressional Dental tried to sugarcoat anything–neither the extent of my dental woes nor the hit my pocketbook will take to fix them. My only concern is that Dr. Sarkarzadeh may not agree with my insistence on at least a temporary prosthodontic–a removable partial denture, say–to replace my soon-to-be-missing molar virtually immediately, for which I have many reasons I trust he’ll take the time to listen to. In the end, that is the main reason I’m going back to Congressional Dental, and pledging my own all-out effort to listen to my new dentist and do everything I can to improve my dental health: I have the sense that Dr. Sarkarzadeh is the sort of high-quality professional I can work with, and who will do right by me. So far, so good, and we’ll see. As my treatments at Congressional Dental progress, I will update this review regularly to let readers know whether I still believe Dr. Sarkarzadeh and his staff deserve these five stars for a very reluctant new patient’s impressively confidence-inspiring first visit, bad news and all. Here’s hoping for a whole series of great reports!

I’m not a fan of the dentist, but Dr. Ali and his team have really made going to the dentist tolerable for me.  They are pleasant, responsive and helpful.  They are often willing to see my family or me on a same day basis for items of particular concern or that are emergencies.  Dr. Ali has a good manner and is direct about what he thinks, and Galina has helped me at least tolerate the x-rays (no small feat).

Awesome service. I love Galina and Dr. S – they truly are the nicest people in the dental profession. Dr. Sarkarzadeh is an honest dentist, and probably the best dentist in the Rockville area. He has taken care of me and wife numerous times, and every time we have our appointment, we are greeted with smiles and hello like we are family. It great to be in such great care and company. I’m glad their website let’s people like us, that are always on the go, book appointments online. Makes life so much easier!

Let me first say this is the most fun I’ve had at the dentist in years! Dr. S and his team are the best! They made me feel right at home and took great care of me. The dental hygienist was the best! Dr. S was very informative and told me everything I needed to know about my wisdom teeth and some other cosmetic things I may want done…invisalign(sp)! I encourage you to go to this dentist! You won’t be disappointed! Go right now! Eat yourself some Oreos and popcorn so that you can have the most enjoyable cleaning your mouth has ever had in life!

So I hadn’t had any dental work done in some time(over 5 years) due to financial and other personal reasons. I was referred to congressional dental by a friend after I’d broken my tooth flossing. I was in tremendous pain and they were able to see me immediately. I ended up needing a root canal in which Dr. Ali completed with no issues at all. In addition, they have worked with me on a plan for my upcoming dental procedures, in which I will need many. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They are honest, and the work they do is top notch. Would recommend to everyone 10/10!

Dr. Sarkarzadeh and the whole Congressional Dental team have a great combination of professionalism and congeniality. I always receive warm, friendly welcomes when I come in and they are all very compassionate and sensitive to each of their patients needs and circumstances. I have gone here for several years now and would recommend them to anyone. The convenient location across from Twinbrook, near a bus stop, and just off of Rockville Pike (as well as close to multiple pharmacies) is a major plus. Lastly, they have some nights where they stay until 7:00PM for those who need later appointments and sometimes open as early as 8:30AM.

Great dental service! I was impressed with how well my issues were explained to me, but I was more impressed with how nice the staff is. They worked with my insurance company to reduce my costs for surgery which was a huge help. On top of all that, the very helpful staff up front is very easy on the eyes!

I had my first ever dental procedure done by Dr. Sarkarzadeh. Since I had not had any major dental work done, I did not know what to expect. The procedure ended up being quick and 100% painless. My recovery was even relatively painless. Dr. Sarkarzadeh also talked me through every step, which made me less anxious. Congressional dental also has an excellent staff. The staff is competent, friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Congressional dental for a positive dental experience

I have been going to Congressional Dental for over 8 years. The staff are very friendly and warming towards their patients. Dr. Sarkar and Dr. Farzin have worked hand-in-hand around my dental issues, from night guard fittings to root canals. At first I was scared to have my mouth numbed and two teeth pulled, but Dr. Farzin made me feel so comfortable with his jokes and saying, “this is going to be so quick, you won’t feel a thing!”. It was quick and it was great to have that reassurance. My experience here has been great and I highly recommend this place! Also, because I work in Bethesda, it is nice that Congressional is right across the street from Twinbrook station.

I had a very good experience. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Dr. Sarkar explained everything clearly. Ultimately, although I came for a second opinion and he agreed with my regular dentist, it became clear that Dr. Sarkar will become our new regular dentist; he was able to give pros and cons of various options. He made me feel I would be in more capable hands.
