As an individual who is terrified of the dentist, I must say my experiences with Dr. Afshar and Dr. Zand were painless. I had a cleaning, filling and extraction done by Dr. Afshar… and a root canal done by Dr. Zand…. both Dr.’s were extremely patient with me and were so friendly that it eased my fear! My teeth feel cleaner and healthier than ever. Overall, I had a great experience. This office is absolutely beautiful, the staff is friendly, and the fact that it is a family run practice makes it a warm atmosphere. I will definitely be coming here from now on.

Dr Afshar and his staff are top notch. I have been coming to him for over 5 years, and couldn’t be happier with their service. I recently had an implant done by him and I was pleasantly surprised at how painless and easy the whole process was. If you’re looking for a great dentist, don’t hesitate to visit them.

I hope this review will help those who fear seeing a dentist. My first dental experience was when I was in my early 20’s. My left molar was giving me so much pain that my mother ‘forced’ me to go to the dentist. She chose a dentist for me and I went. It was a horrible experience that I never wanted to go through ever again. Fast forward to now, I am in my late 30’s. My right molar was never removed. I have endured pain and suffering over the years in fear of ever stepping foot in another dental office. My husband got worried when I couldn’t tolerate the pain anymore coz I had splitting headaches, I couldn’t swallow and I’m just downright cranky. So he recommended Corbin Gentle Dental. My first visit was a consultation and a plan on how to proceed. You can’t imagine just how nervous I was. They had to recommend a surgeon to remove my infected tooth. After that procedure, I had go back to do deep cleaning. Dr. Afshar attended to me. I told him about my fears and he could tell just how nervous I was because I was perspiring in the well air-conditioned cubicle I was assigned. Dr. Afshar made me relax by explaining the procedure, talking to me about what he was going to do and that I could always tell him to stop if I couldn’t tolerate the pain. Once the procedure started, I hardly felt anything. It could be the topical but he has the lightest touch, in my opinion. He would stop to check on how I was doing, asking along the way if I was still comfortable and I was. I may have still been nervous but I slowly learned to breathe and relax during the procedure. My third visit, I still had the initial nervousness (I’m guessing is more psychological than anything) but as soon as I sat down and knew what to expect, I was more relaxed. The procedure went smoothly. Instructions were clear on what I needed to do and all I had to do was follow it and to see him again to check on how things are going along. Today was that day, my gums are healing nicely and I was told that if I continue with what I have been doing that I may not have to do deep cleaning again for some time, just quick check-ups. They definitely live up to their name. I may have had a bad experience to begin with years ago, but I definitely am not afraid now. I have another appointment to take care of other stuff and now I look forward to it. I want to have healthy gums and teeth but have always ignored the aches and pains for fear of a previous experience — no more. I highly recommend Corbin Gentle Dental. They’re not as expensive as you think and they are definitely 100%, no BS — gentle in every way.

I can’t say enough good things about this office! Dr. Afshar is the best! His staff is so attentive and make you feel so comfortable. Dr. Afshar has amazing bedside manner. They have a variety of entertainment options while you’re getting dental work. Highly recommend this office..you won’t be disappointed.

I love Dr. Afshar… seriously.   He explains things in a way that I always understand what he is saying.  He never try’s to sell me on something I don’t need and if he ever did suggest something, I know at this point he genuinely thinks I need it.   When I changed jobs and in turn got new insurance I even upgraded to PPO so that I could keep him as my dentist (it was worth it).

I love this place! Been coming for years.  Moved out of Tarzana but still drive the distance to see Dr. Afshar! He’s very gentle and patient. His staff is amazing too! I would definitely recommend this place for those that don’t like the dentist!

My appreciation for Dr. Afshar continues to grow!  As a result of my first visit, I opted to go with a dental implant, which means the original tooth has to be extracted; something that had been a bad experience for me in the past with my wisdom teeth.  Not the case this time!  Calm office.  Gentle, thorough work.  Minimal post-op pain.  Additionally, Dr. Afshar removed an impacted tooth for my wife, who has had even worse experiences with dentists than I have.  She LOVES the professionalism and calm demeanor of everyone associated with this practice!  She also had an extremely positive experience with her extraction, especially with pain management! I know drive time is important for people, but practices like this are hard to find.  I’d willingly drive an hour if I needed to just for their services!  Best dental practice that my wife and I have ever experienced!

I can only say amazing things about this place. I love the whole office! To start off it is very clean and well kept. It is also a very professional environment. The doctors all have great people skills which is an unusual trait to find in dentist as I have visited quite a few and it was not always pleasant. The pricing is fair, and you get amazing results and to be honest, you get what you pay for. I shopped around before I came to them and did my research and they are reasonably priced. I love working with Dr. Afshar he walks his patients through every step of the way which is very important to me as a patient. You can tell he gives above 100% to the patients in his work. He is also a bit of a perfectionist which is not a bad trait in someone when they are doing work on you! He checks in during treatments and procedures to make sure if you are doing ok or need a break. He really puts the gentle in Gentle dental! A true MVP. I can not say enough good things about this doctor. I also love all the assistants because it feels like they know the patients and they do! I always work with Matt who is uber professional and is always friendly. Matt is consistent and confident in his work while assisting the Doctors. I call them the dream team. I have had fillings and extractions and Dr. Afshar made it seem so effortless when I was nervous and anxious. He is also very good at relating with his patients. I am now in the process of orthodontic treatment with Dr. Zand. Since I am new to braces I have been having trouble with my wire and they are always glad to help if I need it. I am glad to be taken care of by a team of true professionals and I highly recommend this office for all dental needs. I am always talking about Corbin Gentle Dental and all of my friends and family. All are excited to go get their work done there. Bonus for patients: They offer Netflix and Pandora to keep you distracted during procedures. Always a plus!

This Dental Practice is by far the best I have ever encountered. Everything about this place is superior to every Dentist I have ever seen in the past. From the very first visit; The Office itself was clean, organized and welcoming. The office staff is articulate and accommodating with everything from scheduling to payment plans and explaining the process in its entirety. They are always prompt, organized and on time, not to mention very, very friendly and blatantly transparent about how straight and clean their intentions are as a business. The biggest perk to me though is The Dentist Himself. Dr. Afshar is by far one of the most professional, intelligent and articulate doctors that I have ever worked with. He has a very no-nonsense, results oriented approach but also a cool, calm and laid-back demeanor. He’a simply and solid, well-rounded guy. He prioritizes my comfort and education on the procedures above all, which is very important to me. He and his staff really take the time to explain everything to me about the process and options in a very coherent way. Nothing happens here until YOU feel well-versed on it all and comfortable about moving forward. YOU pull the trigger and feel in control about everything that happens. This dental office is the first EVER to have made me feel truly educate on my oral health, it’s maintenence and longevity. I really can’t say enough about how much Corbin Gentle Dental has transformed the “dreaded dental work” into something not only manageable, but enjoyable as well. I don’t easily hand out compliments but this place deserves every one a then some!

I have been a patient at Corbin Gentle Dental for about 10 months for orthodontics treatment. They are really great with maintaining a relationship with their clients. They know your name, you don’t feel as if you are just another customer. The staff is great they seem to always be happy and the assistants are knowledgeable and make the tightening process (taking off and the putting on of the ties) painless. They have great pricing and they don’t nickle and dime you after you have broken something. They also don’t  over diagnose you like my previous dentist (he said I had six cavities and i was suspicious so i went here for a second opinion and it turned out i only had one). The office is comfortable, it is modern and clean on the inside, they have a variety of technology for dentistry at their disposal. I didn’t know what to expect when getting braces but, they have made is easy and convenient for me. This is a great office and I highly recommend it to anyone.
