I have serious dental anxiety and finding Cosmopolitan Dental was the BEST accident that ever happened to me. The staff at Dr. Nazarian office is amazingly friendly, warm and professional. My first phone Helen answered was a dental emergency. Dr. Nazarian and his assistant Celeste are kind, calming and caring professionals. He was able to repair my pain. When the staff informed me that I could bring my young daughter – I switched her dental care plan to this office in a heartbeat. The location is conveniently located near Grand Central, the office is modern and clean with state-of-the-art equipment. Dr. Nazarian is always on time – unlike many other dentist offices that I have been to in the past. I look forward to recommending his practice to anyone looking for a new dentist. I went for a cleaning and had two cavities. I had a quick follow up appt and cavities filled quickly. I then had a horrible toothache and Dr. Nazarian went above and beyond to help me find a solution to fix my toothache and call other dentist who specialize in the procedure I needed done. Dr. Nazarian has been my dentist for the past several years. No joke, Cosmopolitan dental is a one-stop shop for all of your dental needs, at least it has been for me. I can honestly say that he is an excellent, thorough dentist who gives each of his patients the personal attention that they deserve. Aside, from my regular dental check-ups, Dr. Nazarian fitted me for an invisalign. I subsequently had my teeth whitened with Dr. Nazarian. His friendly staff and immaculate office make going to the dentist a pleasant experience. Not to mention that his office is conveniently located in midtown, about a 10 minute walk from my office. I have often scheduled appointments during my lunch hour or after work.

I have bad teeth. I have lousy gums. Inherited both from my parents. I floss, I brush, but it is what it is. The good news is that the folks at Cosmopolitan Dental are always there for me. Dr. Nazarian and his colleagues and staff are great at what they do and always have my back (mouth?). Dr. Nazarian gave me a nice smile. Dr. Suri is lovely. Dr. Zelig is their ace endodontist/periodontist (he’s both!) and has helped me through root canals and implants. Everyone from their hygienists (Colleen is mine) to their dental assistants (Danarose keeps me smiling) to their receptionist (Lem, who schedules, reminds and helps with insurance) are wonderful and extremely professional. I don’t know anyone who LIKES to go to the dentist, but since we all have to, I go here because they take good care of my smile.

As a child you’re afraid of no one coming to your birthday; getting picked last for… anything; and dentists telling you to brush your teeth more. As an adult you’re afraid of no one coming to your birthday; getting picked last for… anything; and dentists lying about fake cavities so they can cackle maniacally while they mine your healthy teeth for money. Or, those are things I worry about. I’ve thankfully found a wonderful and trustworthy dentist in the city, having found Dr. Nazarian through a referral from my childhood dentist’s office three years ago. The staff is always extremely nice and accommodating which makes coming here such a breeze. Life Tip: They’ve recently also implemented a program so that folks without dental insurance can get a check-up, cleaning, and x-rays all for $250. As an adult, that’s exciting.

I could go on an on: the people are wonderful, there’s not one person that works there that isn’t stellar when it comes to “tooth side” manner. Everyone is super knowledgeable and kind, and they make you feel like you’re their only patient even though it’s a busy office. garo is a fantastic dentist. He gave me two crowns over a decade ago that are still going strong and look so natural. He’s not only super talented, but he’s kind, in the moment, and takes pride in his work. He’s definitely in a flow state when he works and I love going to see him and watch him work. They move at a quick pace but never make you feel rushed. They have a lovely office and have stayed relevant technologically as the years have gone by. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend Dr. Nazarian to everyone! He is easy going, professional, and always caring. I had my first root canal with him and didn’t feel any pain (even though everyone told me that they are very painful). Helen, the assistant at the front desk, was super friendly and did an incredible job walking me through my plan, coverage and how the office bills. The paperwork on my first visit took about 15 min to fill out. The dental office is conveniently located by Grand Central so all mass transit is only a few steps away, also it’s on the ground floor so really easy access, no elevators to deal with. The office has a clean and modern feel, but not overdone. They use all the latest and greatest in dental technology and Celeste his assistant did a great job on x-ray’s and making me laugh. The dentist chair even has a massage feature to take your mind off of things and relax you. Dr. Garo performed my cleaning which was a first for me to have a dentist do a cleaning rather than an oral hygienist. He did such an amazing job was gentle and very caring. I would recommend him to anyone who needs good dental work done. A keeper.

Honestly, the team at Cosmopolitan Dental makes you want to go to the dentist. They are super caring with exceptional bedside manner. The hygienists, assistants and dentists are very gentle, professional, and effective. They are extremely accommodating to your needs and requests. You can relax and trust their extensive expertise. Everyone there will walk you through what they are doing. The dentists are very clear in how they answer questions. Dr. Nazarian is a perfectionist and he will go above the call of duty to make sure you’re happy with your results . “Good enough” doesn’t fly with him. No nonsense front of house. Scheduling runs very smoothly, they are on time, and you can always get someone on the phone. Bonus: they play great music in the office and it is very clean. There’s no “doctor’s office smell”. I highly recommend them. I used to hate going to the dentist, but now, it’s an opportunity to see some great people who make me smile.

Just an overall smooth experience- considering the pain in my mouth, beforehand, was not. Dr.G was even kind enough, to work on my root canal quickly, while explaining the details of what needed to be done. Despite spending my time doing the normal paperwork for a newbie patient… I literally waited, 10-15 minutes at most. I know 5 stars is for the absolute best, but truly- he did an awesome job!

Now Mayor Koch and Mayor Bloomberg have joined that group but Garo was the first and he set the standard. If he has space in his patient list you would be lucky to go to him.

I’m a confessed life-long “dental-phobe” and have NEVER enjoyed going to the dentist. I’m happy to say that this has all changed after a recent visit to Dr. Garo Nazarian. I was so pleased that I became a first time Yelper just to get the word out about this guy. Not only is Garo just a cool and friendly guy, he is an EXCELLENT dentist. He really listened to me and took extra care to make me comfortable and explain what he was doing every step of the way during just a basic cleaning! The office atmosphere is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in a medical setting. It’s beautiful, comfortable and state-of-the-art. You even get a back massage during your cleaning as the chairs have built-in massage settings. Frank Sinatra was playing in the exam room and I was given glasses to wear to block out the bright lights and water spray. The office is very conveniently located in midtown and despite the fact that I live and work in Astoria, Queens, I wouldn’t hesitate to travel to Manhattan for my dental visits. It’s well worth the trip. Helen (office manager) and Jessica (dental assistant) are both exceptional and made me feel right at home. Professional all the way but also extraordinarily friendly and proficient. I would recommend Dr. Nazarian to anyone. I’ve had some pretty bad dental experiences in NYC but can honestly say that I’ll actually be back for a six-month check up in six months – instead of putting it off for a year or two like I have in the past. Thanks for a wonderful experience and for anyone out there unhappy with their currently dentist or looking for one, call this office immediately. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been going to Dr. Nazarian for about 6 years now and continue to go even though I moved away from this area. I hate going to the dentist period – but Cosmopolitan Dental has a welcoming staff who is helpful, friendly and on top of it at all times. I have never had an issue with making an appointment or rescheduling. I go for a checkup/cleaning every 6 months and each time they take a full set of x-rays to analyze each tooth/nerve. THE BEST. I’ve seen Dr. Kang, Dr. Nazarian, and most recently Dr. Kim. All were wonderfully communicative and gentle. The ladies at reception, Helen and Eva, are extremely professional and sweet. There are never any surprises when it comes to billing and they’re great about getting you the lowest costs possible. They’re also very patient and helpful when it comes to scheduling/rescheduling. First let me say I have the absolute WORST fear of dentists, compounded by the fact I had a terrible experience with a quack doctor in Florida. I was referred to Dr. Nazarian by a friend who had absolutely beautiful teeth. When I booked the appointment with Helen, I tried to explain how terrified I was and she assured me it wouldn’t be a problem and that I was in good hands. I was skeptical. When I arrived at my appointment, I gave her my name and she asked if I would like a coffee and then took me right back to the hygienist, Dorrie. A doctor that you don’t wait on?! Where am I? I told Dorrie about my previous experience and we discussed my history and then she got right to work, making sure I was comfortable the whole time. It seemed like I was done in no time at all and it was truly a relaxing experience. Dr. Nazarian came in and went over my history with me, and looked over my previous treatment plan. He confirmed what I had thought, there was a lot of extras added on that I didn’t need by my previous dentist. He reassured me that he would fix me up in no time at all and asked if there was anything he could do to make me feel more comfortable during my treatment. He genuinely listens and takes time with each of his patients. I have never once felt rushed or like he wasn’t concerned with how I was feeling. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to finally have a dentist that doesn’t order excessive painful treatments and makes you informed on all of your treatment options. Dr. Nazarian has an amazing staff that works with you and understands how expensive dental treatment can be. They prioritize what needs to be done and I have never had to wait. My teeth are in excellent shape now and I am incredibly thankful for Dr. Nazarian and his awesome staff!

Cosmopolitan Dental was founded by Dr. Garo Nazarian, a graduate of Columbia School of Dental and Oral Surgery. Upon receiving his D.D.S, Dr. Nazarian continued his training and education by joining the general practice residency program at Methodist Hospital, with an emphasis on cosmetic dentistry. Since completing the residency program, Dr. Nazarian has since been keeping a private practice within the New York Area. As a member of the American Dental Association, New York County Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry and the New York State Dental Association, Dr. Nazarian has had an opportunity to work with many of the top dental specialists and cosmetic dentists from around the world. These experiences have motivated him to provide the best quality dentistry with the most advanced technology, all while developing a friendly and relaxed environment.
