As another reviewer stated previously, Dr. Alzona’s dental practice is the reason I don’t switch to HMO. Find a dental practice you like and stick to it, because it’s very difficult to find one that’s upfront and honest about what needs to be done, what I can postpone, and every option I have depending on my coverage/out-of-pocket costs. I’m happy that she was recommended to me when I was searching for a dentist in south OC. Also, the whole staff is fantastic. I’ve been going to this practice for 6 years now and the level of work is still excellent. The dental cleanings are incredibly thorough, either done by Amber or Dr. Alzona herself. Very good people to give my business to.

Best dental experience I have ever had. This is a premium practice with a very nice, modern, beautiful office. I have been going to see Alzona for a few years now and have always looked forward to going back. The amount of confidence she (and her entire team) has given me in my smile is immeasurable. The staff at her office is very polite and friendly. They take the time to explain everything and always give me multiple options. Their office is very modern with flatscreens, massaging chairs, x-rays, and windows with a view in every room! The Dr makes this experience the best I have ever had for multiple reasons. Not only is she very meticulous, but she is very quick and gentle. She does all of this by still making you feel like a welcomed person and shows a genuine care for your well-being.

Best dental appointment I’ve EVER had! I’ve had some pretty bad experiences with dentists throughout my life, so I pretty much just expected all dental experinces to be crappy, and I was OK with that. I’ve been to douchey newport dental offices and I’ve been to strip mall dental offices and they were all the same, just different decor. Dr. Alzona changed my view of dental care entirely! Her all female staff was friendly and awesome, they treat you like an old friend. The office has a warm winery decor. Dr. uses an intraoral camera to show you what she is seeing and work with you on what you need done. Dr. has a gentle touch–I didn’t feel any pain at all. I didn’t feel like she was doing or recommending anything I didn’t need either. She’s got a great personality too–she gets to know you and makes you feel welcome to be there and come back again. I’m definitely going back to her and will be bringing my children to her too. I highly recommend Dr. Alzona for women and children especially!

I will never have an HMO dental plan ever just because I don’t want to see anyone other than Dr. Alzona for as long as I can. In my lifetime I’ve been to 4 dentists, 2 oral surgeons and 2 orthodontists, Dr. Alzona is the best dentist of all the oral related doctors I’ve seen. Her office is warmly decorated with custom paint and nice leather couches. They have a magazine for every taste, not just pure golf. The dcor is grapes and wine without being tacky. Her staff is amazingly friendly, from the receptionist and dental assistant to the hygienist. They are all women too, go figure. Dr. Alzona remembers who you are and makes it a point to remember and learn more about you. They have high tech instruments including the ability to let you watch movies using headphones in the event you have to sit in “the chair” for long periods of times. They brought to my attention and corrected things that other dentists didn’t take the time to care about. They send you birthday cards and if you refer someone you get a referral gift certificate of $25 (ours was to Ruth’s Chris because they remembered I liked it there!).

Crisanta Alzona was born and raised in southern California. Inspired to become a dentist by watching her mother, also a dentist, she strives to ease her patients’ pain, improve their dental health, the appearance of their smiles, and ultimately their quality of life. “Dr. Cris” received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of California, San Francisco in 1998 and her Bachelors degree in Biology from Chapman University in 1993. It was at UCSF that she did research in Alzheimer’s disease and how to care for and address the needs of our elderly patients. At UCSF she also had the opportunity to assist in general and specialty clinics giving her a better feel for all aspects of creating an operable and efficient dental team. As a private practitioner she volunteers extensively in the Su Casa league for underprivileged patients. In the ever-changing field of dentistry she knows how important it is to provide her patients the most current, technologically advanced, and personalized care possible. To fulfill her commitment to you Dr. Cris thrives on continuing her education advanced dental courses including Invisalign orthodontic application and treatment, the Seattle Institute of Dentistry’s advanced study of occlusion (the relationship of teeth and how to form a better bite), and the treatment of a worn dentition (when a bite relationship has caused problems over time). Dr. Cris is an active member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Orange County Dental Association. She and her husband, also a dentist, raise their two daughters here in Orange County. She spends most of her time continuing her education spending quality time with her family but squeezes in biking and cooking whenever she can.
