Not even sure where I should begin, I had neglected to see a dentist for the last 3 years and was experiencing slight pain. I was referred to Dr. Salo through one of my coworkers and decided to make an appointment. Let me say, I have never had such a great experience at a dentist office as I did on this day. From the moment you walk in, the dental office is beautiful and welcoming, the staff was super friendly which helped with my nerves big time! Dr. Salo was able to bring an x-ray of my teeth up on a big screen and go over my dental hygiene with me in detail. This dental office has taken dentistry to the next level everything seemed futuristic and new age which is comforting knowing the person working on you has the most up-to-date equipment and knowledge. He was able to help me get my teeth back in order and I will be seeing him again in a couple of weeks.

I’m not embarrassed to say I am very particular about my teeth and have been seeing Dr. Salo since I first moved to the West Hollywood area. As someone who works in an industry where you are judged on your appearance, I like to say he is one of my best-kept secrets. I see him a few times a year and i love the fact that he has helped me create a strategy for my mouth to avoid teeth-staining foods and build strong enamel. I trust Dr. Salo with my smile. Also, the staff is absolutely lovely! Every time I go in I am greeted with a smile not to mention his facility is beautiful! Everything looks clean, new and up-to-date!

Three words that come to mind to describe Dr. Salo and his practice are integrity, caring and perfectionist. I have been going to Dr. Salo since he took over Downtown Family Dental in Torrance at least 10 or perhaps 15 years ago. He takes pride in doing the best job he can for his patients and stands behind his work. He has long time staff members who know what they are doing and work to the caring culture he has established. His assistant Lisa is gentle and top notch, the hygienists have given me important dental care tips and the office manager Quinn is warm, thorough and always follows up. My brother-in-law Rick was a “white knuckler” when it comes to seeing the dentist so I introduced him to Dr. Salo. I can’t say he will ever look forward to going to a dentist but they were able to help manage his anxiety, had him laughing and joking and, most importantly he stopped procrastinating and went back several times to get the work done that was needed. I recently had a new bridge made for my front teeth and was informed it would be delayed because Dr. Salo sent it back to the lab because he didn’t feel it was good enough. Not a problem for me as the temporaries Hector made the afternoon I was fitted were so good no one knew they were not my permanent teeth. Implants and restorative work are specialties of Dr. Salo. He likes to draw pictures of teeth 🙂 which helps answer my many questions! I have had several implants and gum surgery and he made the ordeal as comfortable as it could be. I really appreciate that all my dental needs can be served in one office. It doesn’t seem like a lot of dental offices can “do it all”. I always trust that any work done will have Dr. Salo’s personal backing and I will get the straight scoop on what I need. I have no hesitancy in highly recommending this dental practice.

I have been a patient at this office for over 3 years now. Every time i come, they do a great job. The front desk staff is friendly and efficient. They never waste my time. I have worked with two awesome hygienists (Ines and Ruby). I like them both. They have different styles, but they both do a great job… so much so, that i now like doing my cleanings more often. I always feel healthier when i leave. No drama. No alarming findings. The office manager Renata is very sweet and animated and fun to be around. She always makes me feel welcome. Dr. Salo is the the best part. He is cool and easy to talk to. He gets really passionate about his dentistry. You can tell he likes his job a lot. He helped me a lot when i first started, more than other dentists I have had. Now I am on cruise control, but he always checks in one me to make sure all is going well. Sometimes he even calls me with an idea about how to make my dental health even even better. That is what prompted this review. He called me out of the blue to check in on me and that I am following through on my tasks. One thing I like is that he has a 3 month vision for how i can improve little things (brushing technique, flossing, food choices), and then a 20 year plan (tooth grinding prevention, chewing, gum recession, bone health, etc). It feels very comprehensive. They make suggestions for what i should do and when i should do it, but there has never been any pressure to get it done (which i have come to appreciate). My schedule is busy but i eventually follow up on the things the team recommends. This office is efficient. I have referred two friends over the last few years and they also had good experiences. I have never had a negative experience in over 12 visits.
