I have a phobia of dentists and needles, like many other people, so I was very hesitant to go to a dentist at all. I also am in Hawaii for school, meaning that I had never been there. I called them around 1:30-2:00 in the afternoon and got a same day appointment at 6:30! They were super understanding on the phone, and got everything sorted in just a few minutes. When I went in, they were very kind and welcoming! They helped me through a few issues my insurance was having, and were all very patient with me despite the fact that most of my answers to their questions were “let me text my mom and ask”. They took X-Rays of my teeth, and found the issue to be a huge cavity. They did not make a huge deal of it, and didn’t make me feel ashamed about having a cavity (despite being 18). The doctor I was paired with was very kind and numbed the painful area within a minute of seeing me! He preformed a root canal during my appointment, and was so so kind and made sure that when I tensed or squirmed, there was no serious pain! The staff really work with you as a human being here, and do value your time and comfort! I can not express how grateful I am, and how happy I am with everything they did for me!!

★★★★★

I’ve had two visits in the past 12 months and my experience was awesome both times. From the receptionists to the dental techs, the staff is sincere and caring. It may sound cliche, but they really do go above and beyond because they were so personable. They are some of the best trained in client services I’ve ever met in any business. My dentist was also very professional and courteous. The only experience I didn’t like was that I felt like a number with the dentist. He came in checked my teeth and then was off to the next client. But I’d still give the entire team “two thumbs up.”

★★★★★

I highly recomend Dr. Declan and the other Doctors and staff. We used to live in Honolulu and had our dentistry done in the offices. They are a welcoming, helpful, caring, and friendly group of well qualified people. All work was performed to my satisfaction every time. They were quite understanding of my health issues and accommodated my needs and concerns with kindness and compassion. I have been away for four years, but they were so good that when I saw this page suggested, I just had to come leave a review. Thank you so much, Dr. D and staff. Aloha!

★★★★★

I had an appointment for a filling recommended by another dentist based on my x-ray,  but Dr. Devereaux did a more thorough visual check and decided that a filling was not necessary at this time, saving me time money and discomfort.   So I have to give Dr. Devereaux a big yelp for his honesty professionalism and integrity!

★★★★★

What an awesome dental office! Parking was easy, the office is super convenient and very nice, and the whole check up and cleaning was a breeze. The staff is really competent and friendly, both in person and on the phone. Dr. Mandich was my dentist when he worked downtown, and I was glad to find him again at Ala Moana Dental Care. I’m old enough to remember when going to the dentist was something to dread, so its really nice to know that the whole process will be easy and pain free.

★★★★★

Emergency procedure required. The angels at Ala Moana Dental Care responded,  immediately taking me with no appointment, processing all paperwork effortlessly, and most importantly, executing the procedure with unparalleled expertise.  I feel more pain brushing my teeth than I experienced with their extraction of a fused wisdom tooth.  Though I live in Virginia Beach,  I am switching my Dental care to Ala Moana.  It is worth the trip for this level of quality and patient care.

★★★★★

It has been a year ago, I lost my job, and was in need of dental work, which I could not afford. I had a free consultation with Doctor Dev. whom is very talented and skilled and would go over beyond his call of duty to asist people, of the less fortunate. Whom dedicates his busy schedule to accommodate with pro-bono cases, voluntarily to give back to his community, working out at Palama Settlement, Aloha Care program in the heart of Kalihi, youre a blessing & predestinated…

★★★★★

I haven’t been to the dentist in a while and I was quite nervous but when I arrived it was very pleasant. The front office was extremely neat/clean and modern. I was handed an ipad to sign in and fill out my information. I was then greeted by Dr. Declan and we proceeded to get my tooth extracted. (as per my wishes) He was so gentle with the novocaine I could hardly feel it. Before I knew it without any visual knowledge he had pulled my tooth without a flinch. I WILL be returning! Thank You Dr. Declan!

★★★★★

Dr. Devereux and the Ala Moana DC staff are simply outstanding! From start to finish this was the best dental experience I’ve ever had. Dr. Devereux went out of his way to make sure the work was completed in a timely manner while also making sure he provided an excellent quality work. I’m beyond impressed. Mahalo AMDC!

★★★★★

The best dentists, staff and atmosphere you will ever see!  Everyone there is very helpful.  Their staff is like a well oil machine where the left hand knows what the right hand is doing to ensure your visit is the absolute best!  I would highly suggest anyone within a 1000 mile radius to go here without question!!  When you walk through the door and the soothing fountain catches your attention…you will thank me! 🙂

★★★★★

Super dental clinic!!! I booked an appointment and was in to see them the same day. I filled out their paperwork using tablets that minimized me repeating info I already put into the forms already. Very modern and convenient. All of the work was completed quickly, thoroughly, and professionally. Finally, the price for all services rendered was very reasonable and billed to my insurance company smoothly. Easy and affordable. 10/10 will use again, 10/10 recommend for family.

Had a tooth problem last night. Didn’t sleep racked with anxiety just thinking about having to see a dentist. Yelped to see who would be open on a Sunday and found Ala Moana Dental Care. Dr. Devereux, his assistant LeeAnn, treatment coordinator Katie and the entire staff all made me feel very comfortable and welcomed. I explained to LeeAnn and Dr. Devereux my fear of dental offices and dental work due to bad experiences from other offices. As the Dr and his assistant worked on me I have to say this was the best treatment and chair side manner that I have ever experienced. They focused on my treatment, and what I needed. Dr.Devereux gave the most painless injection I have ever had. LeeAnn followed up with the treatment necessary focused on being sure I was comfortable. I found a new Dr and office! I would highly recommended them for your dental needs

For the past year, I had gone without a dentist and kept delaying finding a new one. I was mainly searching for a dentist/group that provided routine check ups and cleaning but was concerned about the entire transition process since the former office that I went to had closed. Luckily, I found Ala Moana Dental Care who provided the easiest transition and best care possible! When I first called the office, I was expecting to schedule an appointment months out — especially with COVID enforcing so many restrictions. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the receptionist was able to schedule me within the week! The office is open every day of the week which is honestly such a pro for me due to being in school and my weekdays are usually filled up. In terms of the actual service, I went in for a simple cleaning. What’s awesome about this office is that they have their own insurance plans where they offer 2 cleanings in the year and a set of x-rays for less than $100 (even without dental insurance). This is honestly such a deal compared to other offices which would charge ~$300 for those services alone. My teeth was checked by a dentist after some routine xrays and then cleaned by one of their dental hygienist. The hygienist did a really great job in being gentle yet thorough and the entire appointment took no more than 30 minutes. I also want to note that there are so many stations for patients to be evaluated so the waiting time was extremely minimal! All the staff members were extremely professional and accommodating! From the parking attendant, the receptionist, the dental assistants and the dentist himself; every individual seems to be very invested in the care of their patients. Overall, I’m extremely pleased to have come across this practice and look forward to my 6 month follow up! Parking: Very easy and free! They have a parking garage attached to their office which is monitored by a parking attendant. Lots of spacious parking!

I just had an amazing experience getting my teeth cleaned. I don’t think I have been able to say that before. I haven’t gone to the dentist in almost 5 years (I am 33) – my son had a traumatic birth and I saw so many doctors I was good on seeing them for myself. I digress. Prices are up front, they work with your insurance company. Every one was exceptionally professional, kind – they frequently checked in on you to make sure you were doing okay. Insurance covers two visits a year. Go get taken care of here. Special shout out to Adrienne, Hanna, and the woman working at the front desk and the woman/team who took my x rays. The Dr. also. Nothing added more than necessary. Needless to say it was a team effort from the moment you walk in and I am very very thankful. Wish I had gone sooner.

★★★★★

I love going to my dentist” said no one ever. Except me, I really do love having Ala Moana Dental Care take care of me. They have the best schedule availability so I never miss work to go, and I dont have to reserve my days off to go. They are fast and efficient. The staff is always friendly and gentle. Even the vibe is different, front desk is like checking into a hotel, walking back is like getting seated at your own booth in a club, mellow vibe feels like a salon. If you dont have Ala Moana Dental… you’re not smiling as much as you would if you did.

★★★★★

I was very impressed – hands down the best dental visit I’ve ever had. My first experience with this office. I called on a Friday about a molar that was bothering me, and was shocked that they offered an appointment the same day! However I wanted to specifically see Dr. Declan since he had a reputation for being good with people fearful of dentists. I was able to get an appointment to see him my next day off which was 8am Sunday morning! I was impressed that: – the receptionist greeted me by standing up, shaking my hand and introducing me to the other receptionists at the front desk – that all the check in paperwork for me as a new patient only took me less than seven minutes and was done on a tablet – I didn’t have to wait, I was seen exactly on time – the dental chair area felt more like a spa than a dental office, it barely even smelled like a dental office which was a big deal for someone like me that is scared of the dentist – the intake nurse was sweet and told me that even though I only flooded two times a week that that was still pretty good! – then dr. Declan came and introduced himself. He was very upbeat, positive and shared that he too was scared of the dentist growing up and that my fear was totally understandable. That if he weren’t a dentist that he would probably only go to the dentist when it hurt too! He ordered some X-ray’s which were done right away (and very quickly) and he diagnosed me with bone loss around a tooth – my tooth needed to be pulled. -they were able to schedule me for a cleaning and extraction the same day! AND THEY HAVE NITROUS OXIDE FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE! Yay! – my hygienist was nice but the ultrasonic scale did hurt since I hadn’t been to the dentist in six years. She recommended a deep cleaning be scheduled. – Dr. Declan the blocked my mouth which didn’t hurt at all and extracted my tooth in like ten seconds. It was over before I knew it began – the last part of my appointment was a little disappointing, they forgot my meds and my estimate for future medical plans. I waited for twenty minutes before someone realized I was still waiting. – the person that went over my estimate, explained that my insurance would only cover a small portion since I had recent dental work. When I explained that I hadn’t been to the dentist in six years, she went back to double check and came back to reiterate that insurance would only cover a tiny portion (like $180 of a two thousand dollar estimate). I was a little irritated because I’m an employer and felt like I chose the best dental plan available to my family. Maybe I used it all up for a cleaning and dental extraction today? I asked if it would make sense for me to wait until next year to have the services performed. She acted slightly annoyed and said it wouldn’t save me that much more money and suggested I should look into financing options…..so I just my estimate and left. – on the way home I recommended dr. Declan to my under driver who also had not been in for six years for fear of the dentist. Overall even though my experience wasn’t perfect this was still my best dental experience and still warrants a five star review. I’m so impressed with their hoes and ability to see me the same day. I love how professional they are overall and Dr. Declan is the best. This office also offers nitrous oxide which is hard to find. will be going back. ———- August 2020 update Fantastic dental experience today with Dr. Nguyen, assistant Marta, hygienist James and Naye receptionist. I felt comfortable at every turn – and I didn’t even have the option of nitrous oxides due to COVID 19. Dr. Nguyen is extremely friendly, competent and not scary at all. James took great care to hand scale my teeth, was gentle and just did a fantastic job. Naye took the time to explain to me how my insurance works, no one has every done that for me before. Above and beyond. If I could give them seven stars I would.

Excellent hours, so close to ala Moana (you can get food or drinks after or before), clean office! Marilyn is the best hygienist ever! I’ve been going here for only about 2 years now, but this is an excellent dental office. They seem very high-tech with their headsets and their text and email reminders. There are so many employees and several dentists, so they are able to have very good hours EVERY DAY. The office itself is very clean and modern. The hygienists are as gentle as they can be and are always personable and are very concerned about your comfort and trying to make cleanings as painless as possible. I recently had Marilyn as my hygienist and she was AMAZING. I’ve always had one tricky spot that bleeds when I floss, even if I floss EVERY DAY. She said “there’s probably some build-up hiding up in there”, and she quickly got to work. She used some topical numbing ointment and really dug in there until she got it out! I am so excited to keep my mouth clean. Her chair side manner was excellent. She told me all kinds of dental hygienist stories and convinced me to be better about my oral care without being pushy! I think there’s parking in the building, but it’s right across the street from Ala Moana, so I usually just park there (maybe that’s not legal, but I usually shop at the mall after or before). Floss your teeth folks!

First off, I’m the weird one that loves going to the dentist! Nothing like getting your teeth cleaned I was on the hunt for a new dentist after moving here and I pass this place everyday so I figure why not look into it. They took my insurance so I made my first appt and I was sold. Their hours are very convenient, open 7 days a week from 6am to 8pm. As weird as 6am sounds it’s really helpful to have a place that can take you in early if you’re a busy body. The office is neat and clean and the staff is always really nice. I’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting, granted I do arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to my appt. All of the dentists kind of rotate, I guess unless you specifically request one person in particular. The assistants get your settled in your chair, then the cleaner dentist comes in and does their thing, then the dentist comes in and does their exam. Love how they explain what’s going with your teeth! They have cosmetic procedures available and seem very good about payment plans.

★★★★★

The front desk staff was super nice and friendly. I only had to fill out one sheet of paper (front and back) as a new customer which was awesome. My dental hygienist was awesome- quick, thorough, and didn’t stab my gums. The dentist then came in and checked everything out and I was good to go.The whole thing probably took 30 minutes. As some one who is terrified of the dentist (I picked them because they had the option of nitrous- though I opted out for this visit), it was very clean, calm, and nice atmosphere. Also, they are open all the time so that help with my hectic work schedule.

Im one of those people who dred going to any Dentist. Well not anymore!! I called them at to make a appointment for an upper back tooth that was in pain. This tooth was worked on over 40 years ago while i was in the Military. They took me right away, same day i called! I knew i had dinosaur roots and i was nervous as heck. The Dr. talked to me after the x-rays was taken and explained all my options and was very polite and professional. I decided to have the tooth extracted and have a bridge placed in its place. So here we go: some numbing medicine, some drilling, some pulling and ALONG DIDN’T FEEL A THING!!! The Dr. explained everything to me as he proceeded as to what he was doing and what to expect. The Dr. also made a temporary bridge right then and there and wala, i’m done!!! Ill be going back in a few weeks for my permanent bridge and also to have other procedures done. I never thought i would look forward going to a dentist but, after this experience, i am looking forward to the next visit. Thank you to all the staff at Ala Moana Dental Care!!

★★★★★

Have nothing negative to say about this office!! Love the staff!! All the girls are very helpful and friendly. And Loveeee Dr. Declan!! If are you like me, terrified of needles and pain, and putting of the dental visits because of the fear?.. I recommend my #1 dentist of all times.. DR. DECLAN.. Amazing!! how he does it… you can’t feel a thing and does such a quick and awesome job while he keeps you comfortable all the way and always has something interesting to talk about. Great personality, great attitude, satisfying results with easy healing-all with no pain!! I suggested to Dr. Declan to voice his experience and teach other dentists to do whatever it is that he does so that every patient has a wonderful experience each time!!

★★★★★

Excellent service, accommodation, professional work, and reasonably priced. Patient flew in from Washington State for extended periods because of Dr. Devereux’s professionalism and excellent work — extractions, caps, fillings, and implants. We are very grateful for the extensive work completed. We would recommend Dr. Devereux to anyone anticipating any dental work. It’s been a pleasure being one of his patients. Thank you!

Perhaps the best thing about being under the care of Dr. D for my dental health is peace of mind. Here’s an example from my most recent experience: When one of my implant crowns broke on Saturday night, I wasn’t too worried because Dr. D’s office is open long hours, seven days a week. In fact, his first available appointment was the next morning at 6:30. Too early for me, even with my emergency. LOL! So, I took a later appointment Sunday afternoon. I was concerned about the cost of the repair, especially after learning there were two crowns connected together, like a bridge. It turns out I didn’t have to worry. because Dr. D took total responsibility. Because the crowns were under five years old, there was not cost for the repair at all. He only charged me for an office visit. Relief! Dr. D said he will make me a very strong replacement crown made of zircon, which is the same stuff as is used in one of the Chanel wristwatch bands. So, he said it will be like having something from Chanel in my mouth. LOL! Dr. D puts me at ease and makes me feel secure about my implants. For example, when I called in and emailed him to report the broken crown, he didn’t try to place any responsibility for the break on me at all. (Some dentists might have told me I was chewing too hard on that side of my mouth, for example.) Not Dr. D. He just calmly accepted the situation and provided a solution that was painless on all levels. In fact, my experience of the office visit made me feel kind of like a magician’s assistant. Dr. D’s work was fast, efficient, and completely painless. It was even entertaining, listening to his explanations while he was working on me. In the world of dentistry, wherein most people dread an office visit, actually enjoying going to the dentist and having fun is unheard of pretty much anywhere … except at Ala Moana Dental Care. Mahalo nui loa, Dr. D!

This was a very pleasant experience fore me. I needed a cleaning, had just moved to Honolulu, and didn’t have a regular dentist. I called (at around 6:30pm) and they were still open and scheduled an exam, x-rays, and cleaning the very next day. They have a plan where if you don’t have dental insurance you can pay less than $200 to get all of this service plus another cleaning in six months. And when I was done and I was paying them, they said I get 1/2 off this deal if I paid it all up front. So that’s x-rays, an exam, a cleaning, and another cleaning in six months for less than $100. You can’t beat that and I am very happy with the dentist who answered all of my questions and the dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth. And they validated my parking which was in a garage right above their office!

★★★★★

I have no dental insurance, but I HIGHLY recommend this place for anyone, with or without insurance.  It’s $49 for a cleaning, and that includes an evaluation and x-rays.  They found that I have a small cavity, but because I didn’t have insurance, they offered me a variety of options without forcing their services down my throat, so to speak.  “It’s small, so you have some time to make a decision,” I remember Dr. Devereux telling me regarding the cavity.  I also suffer from vertigo, and they were extremely accommodative.  The dental hygienist asked if I wanted to sit more upright during the cleaning so that my vertigo wouldn’t get triggered.  Overall, excellent business, excellent service, clean and professional setting, highly recommended!

I am one of those people that gets so anxious at dentist visits that my heart races the entire time and I usually end up going years between visits because of my anxiousness. I am new to hawaii and had a tooth that was really hurting me and didn’t know what was wrong so I searched for emergency dentist. After reading some reviews I called ala moana dental care. They were able to fit me in the next morning! I arrived to the most pleasant and welcoming staff with an impeccably clean office and up to date technology. I have an ultra sensitivity to dental work and pain (I mean who doesn’t right?) so when he said he had to take out all the old fillings from a tooth and replace them I thought “Oh God” . I cannot stress this enough… When they were numbing me I swear I barely felt any pain because they were so good at trying to eliminate any pain and discomfort. The Dr. was able to perform the procedure fast and his dental assistant was so calming! I have a lot of work I need done and I can assure you I will only go to ala moana dental care from now on… may even go on a regular basis! Plus their rates were so much cheaper than I was expecting! Kudos go out to the whole staff at Ala Moana Dental Care!

★★★★★

I have had a bad experience before with dentists when I was a kid. I have always had a horrible physiological response with things in my mouth, gagging essentially. For that reason once I became an adult and I didn’t have to listen to my parents anymore I stopped going. Well I got married and now I have a new lady in life who sort of runs my life, and with her recommendation I gave Ala Moana Dental Care a try. I haven’t had a professional teeth cleaning in over twenty years. I explained my physiological response, my concerns, and what I can and can’t do. They approached everything with so much compassion and patience, that it put me at ease in a way I’ve never experienced before. Every step of the way was calmly walked through, and being told what they’re doing next… And before I knew it, it was over! Twenty-plus years of anxiety of visiting a dentist all alleviated in one visit. I would give ten out of five if I could with how pleased I am with everybody who helped me today.

I’m currently recovering from my wisdom extraction as I write this review LOL! But let me just tell you that… I hate going to the dentist! BUT I actually love this dental office! Everyone there is super friendly and they always make sure you’re okay and comfortable! One of my wisdoms have been bothering me so I needed to go in and get it pulled. Since we’re still going through the covid pandemic, they take your temperature when you check in. And they ask you to wear your mask at all times, except when they’re working on your teeth. There’s about 6 different doctors in the office and I haven’t seen all of them yet, but I do have 2 favorites – Devereux and Mandich. They’re actually both really cool! Fun fact: Devereux is the owner of Ala Moana Dental Care 🙂 and I requested to have him work on my wisdoms (once you find your favorite doctor, you can request for them!). If you don’t have dental insurance, don’t worry! They offer an in office dental plan for $96+tax which will cover 20% of the dental fees. I know it doesn’t sound like a lot, but with covid and a lot of unemployment, I’m sure it’ll help with whoever needs it. Also, if you’re bill is high or you can’t afford to pay it all at once, they can set up a payment plan too 🙂 make sure you get Desi to help you… she’s the best!!! Honestly, I still hate the dentist, but this dental office is super cool. The most important thing is that they care… and always make sure you’re out of pain!

★★★★★

Our family has been going here the last three years. I highly reccomend to anyone regardless of the age. Its managed very well and it’s clear they respect your time. I have always been in and out. Parking is paid for in the building of the location. I love that they are open 7 days a week. I don’t have to miss work for an appointment. It’s a nice and clean professional place.

WHO ELSE AVOIDS THE DENTIST??? me me me! For years I avoid going to the dentist.. It’s horror to me. In elementary, my mom always makes me and my brother get our teeth cleaning, cavity checks and such… But each time I sit in that chair I start shaking and shivers go up my spine. Once High school hit I was like NOPEE!! I will not go dentist my teeth are fine… Now as college comes by its been 8 years since I last had a teeth cleaning. Then one of my friends (I’ve known since 3rd grade) was undergrad major in dental hygiene at UH Manoa and needed people to practice before her graduate date. She asked me and I hesitate told her ummmmm I’m scared. She told me don’t be and offered to waive the cost too. I gave in and went, she did X-rays, cleaned my teeth. Told me “you’re one of them lucky peeps who don’t have wisdom teeth” me: SWEET!!! all of you who need to get them pulled I sorry. I won’t know your pain. But I was fine cause I knew her and she reassured me my teeth were clean and cavity free even after all those years of no dental visits. Then few years after, my cavity cap I had filled in middle school broke. I worked across the street (AMPC which is the building above Shokudo) from here and I decided to make an appt for that cavity fill. They do cosmetic fill only (white) to match your tooth. Insurance doesn’t cover that so you gotta pay out of pocket. I was still nervous and shaking. Some of those Dr. are cute HAHAH! I forgot that I needed a teeth cleaning this year and they nicely called to schedule one for me immediately. I got a text the day of for reminder of the appt. Went in and they were quick on checking people in. Someone arrived to help, took my X-ray and asked about my concerns. I was worried about my gums bleeding and being sensitive. After cleaning was done they told me, it was due to plaque build up and that my teeth are fine, no cavity still (hey hey with my sweet tooth. you think I have cavity also right? lol thankful!) They schedule me in for my next 6month cleaning.. No more running away.. This place is so friendly and welcoming. Being scared of dentist no longer applied. I don’t have dental insurance so they charge $67 for X-ray and teeth cleanings which isn’t so bad. You’ll always get a goodie bag with tooth brush, floss and tooth paste for your visits. don’t forget to check in on Yelp! You’ll get a free 16oz mouth wash. Freebies that will have you set till the next visit! If you’re like me and hate coming to dentist, give this place a try.

Hanna was very helpful in giving me the peace of mind during my visit for a root canal. I was initially there for an extraction but the doctor advised against it. The dentist wanted me to keep as much of my teeth as possible for my future health. I wanted the pain to go away but they understood that a loss of tooth, while I’m still young, is not something to take lightly. So I decided to go for a root canal rather than an tooth extraction. Again, I wanted the easiest and cheapest way out but they were so good attheir jobs that I decided to keep it. Thanks again guys!

I had a very good experience with Ala Moana Dental Care. I was looking for a new dentist and I started with a routine check up and cleaning. The front office staff were professional, organized, and knowledgable. I was in between insurances and as a courtesy they assisted me in contacting my providers to prove my insurance. My xrays and cleaning were thorough, I left feeling good about my smile and I could feel the difference. I decided to come back for my fillings and to fix my two front teeth that were chipped. Dr.Inoue and Brandy completed my dental work and answered all of my concerns in one hour. The staff and customers are required to wear masks due to Covid19, the facilities were clean and constantly maintained.I am very happy with my results and I will be returning for my 6 month cleaning.

The one dental practice that’s open on weekends AND before and after work. Medical care can be challenging to get, depending on what you need. Yesterday (Saturday) I spent all day dealing with a nasty toothache from a back molar I should’ve gotten treated months ago. I was in a lot of pain and needed a practice that was available on Sundays that could free me of this misery. Nothing I did could keep the pain down. I googled hoping to see if there was a practice open on Sundays, and this was one of the few that popped up. The Yelp reviews are very “you either hate it or you like it” sort of deals. I suggest to other reviewers to tell you *who* they had their experience with when it comes to dentists. “A younger dentist” doesn’t mean much when I don’t know who they are. I was extremely apprehensive about using this place as my usual dentist wasn’t open on Sundays, and more likely than not they would’ve referred me to an endodontist. However, I had little choice. I was up practically all night with extreme pain and I value my sleep, so once it was about 6:40 AM, I called these folks. They picked up immediately. A nice soft-spoken receptionist took my call and they said that they had a spot open at 7 AM that same day after I explained to them that this was basically an emergency request. I was in pain and needed them to look at it ASAP. They were unsure if I was going to make it but I live very, VERY close to them, so I went in. If you take a super early appointment before 7 AM, getting into the parking garage will be tricky; luckily the office workers have a view of the parking garage entrance and will let you in when they see you. After 7 AM there are no problems. Front office staff took me in and everything is computerized with wireless communications. I had no literal paperwork to sign, all of it was done on their tablets and it was VERY minimal. I told them about my dual insurance coverage and how I didn’t have the membership card for my second insurance and they found it by the time I was done with my paperwork. Paperwork took 10 minutes on a touchscreen. A minute after I was finished I was immediately taken in. Alyson greeted me and had extremely good bedside manner. Took my x-ray and it took less than a few minutes. I was in a dentist’s chair from my entrance in about 15 minutes as a *new patient*. Dr. Phillip Nguyen took me in and I explained to him my situation. I told him I’m in immense pain and that if they could take care of it today instead of me having to wait until tomorrow I would appreciate it. He stepped up to the plate to do so. Alyson applied a numbing gel and Dr. Nguyen got to work. Since I’m used to dentists, I knew what to expect. The first local anaesthetic hurts like a typical vaccine shot, but I don’t know what kind of magic touch this guy has but the rest of the numbing shots (he did 3 more), I did not feel a *single* thing. Usually when they do these shots I would feel pinches but the way he applied it I did not feel *anything*. He mentioned to me that the procedure is much harder since it’s a back molar, and I could see him putting a lot of effort into it. He is a “younger” dentist but he has great confidence and pride in his work. The whole procedure took 3 hours, from the numbing to the temporary crown and molding they have to make to send for the permanent one. You will have some downtime because like a lot of practices, this dentist floats between his patients. You will also have to wait while their bean counters get you an estimate. I was hesitant to get the gold crown for my teeth because of how tacky it looks, and I expressed my hesitancy to these folks. The “porcelain/white” crown they were going to give me was going to cost four times as much as the gold crown! And I was between paychecks so I could not even afford a single installment of it. The lady who took care of the billing, Desi, went back and did some office stuff and came back to me saying Dr. Nguyen was willing to give me the Porcelain crown at the price of the “gold” crown, which was about $200 with the dual insurance coverage I had. They even set me up with a financing plan where I can toss them $50 a month until the whole thing was paid off. Fine by me! Alyson did defer to a more senior coworker on occasion, but I was fine with that, I’d rather people be double checking their work over going in and messing things up. The process was a bit challenging as they had to stick this thing in my mouth to keep it wide open and I have post-nasal drip so breathing could get a bit difficult, but they were able to work around it. After the procedure I now have a temporary crown and that wracking nerve pain is gone. Yes, you will be a bit sore from all the poking and prodding they’ve done, but it goes away after a day or two. I guess it really depends on the dentist you see – Dr. Nguyen was excellent, and I read Dr D himself is very knowledgeable. Recommended for their hours!

I have been to this office now for 2 cleanings and 1 dental check. I have not had any major events taken care of here yet so I am only speaking about cleanings and dental check. The out of pocket portion for patient to pay for cleaning is only $67 and the hygienist I had both times did a very good job. The dentist seemed efficient and professional. One thing I will mention is that they are pretty insistent upon you seeing the dentist for each visit, however, since I do not have any problems I wanted only one dental check per year. They will comply if you insist, however, I can see their point for prevention if someone does not do proper dental hygiene or has had a lot of recent issues. I would recommend this dental group based upon my experience so far.
