I did not have to wait to get examined. His assistant did a thorough job cleaning my teeth and taking X-rays. Dr .Mihalos did not pressure me to make a decision about possible dentures that we had previously discussed. He did not find any cavities. I am very satisified with Dr. Mihalos being my dentist.

Doctor was timely, courteous and thorough. He does the cleaning himself (not a hygienist) so I felt like he knew my teeth more when he recommended different courses of action. I also appreciate that he didn’t pressure me into filling my small cavity, and agreed watching it first was okay. The front desk staff processed my insurance without any issue too. They accept UFT Welfare Fund. Overall, a great dentist!

I have never had a dentist more skilled than Dr. Mihalos. Moreover, he is not an alarmist. I mention this because I have had many dentists who terrified me with my “possible” problems which usually turned out to be minor. And his staff is top-notch: fabulous and painless cleanings, for example. I previously reviewed Dr. Mihalos (about 5 years ago) and said he was the best dentist I had ever had. Still holds true!

Dr. Mihalos was very inviting with a warm and welcoming smile. His team of Medical Assistants are extremely sweet, nothing but welcoming and kind! Check-in was so smooth because they verify my insurance before my appointment, so I didn’t even wait a minute in the waiting room (except to fill out my paperwork). Dr. Mihalos answered all my questions, addressed all my concerns and made sure I left with a smile on my face. Happy to say I just found my new dentist!

Dr. Mihalos was kind, explained everything he was doing, and was very competent. The assistant took X-rays and then he did the cleaning and checked for cavities and reviewed the X-rays. I went to Dr. Mihalos at the recommendation of my boyfriend’s mom…her whole office actually. I had a wisdom tooth coming in that was bothering me, and Dr. Mihalos diagnosed it right away. I was a little too nervous to have it pulled the day of my appointment (and he doesn’t do it in his office anyways) so he cleaned my tooth out and gave me antibiotics. It was my first experience as an adult at the dentist and while I was terrified, he made it such a great appointment. He made sure to tell me exactly what he was doing and to speak up if I needed more Novocain. His assistants were all incredibly friendly and the atmosphere of the office was great!

Very good! I had not seen a dentist in ages-about two to three years so you can imagine how nervous I was and scared to be honest. However, he was patient, calm, and made me very comfortable from the very beginning. During the cleaning he would checkto make sure every so often that I was ok. I need most likely a deep clean and to fix a few cavities and probably will still be nervous but, I know im in good hands:)

Very satisfied with my appointment. The office is conveniently located in a building close to the 59th street subway stop and is easy to find. I came in early on a weekday and was greeted right away. Even though I forgot to bring my insurance card, they were able to confirm my coverage quickly with my insurance company. After filling out a few short forms I was brought back for my appointment. Dr. Mihalos is very professional and kind and I had no problems trusting him with my care. He was very personable yet efficient. I will continue to see him as my primary dentist and would recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist in the area.

Easily the best experience I’ve ever had at the dentist. Clean, beautiful offices. Friendly women at the desk, with well-designed (clearly custom) forms. Dr. Mihalos is by far the best dentist I’ve ever had work done with! Before I’ve had reservations on getting work done as I’ve had bad experiences with dentists. But his professionalism and experience in handling my teeth gently has helped me feel completely comfortable! His staff is warm, welcoming and prompt on following up on appointments. Dr. Mihalos helped guide and encourage me through the process of getting Invisalign which I wasn’t sure if I was eligible for since some of my teeth were quite crooked. Through his help and thorough explanation of the steps my smile changed completely and I couldn’t be more happier with it. I’ve gained so much more confidence through his dental work! I strongly recommend getting him as your primary dentist!

Visiting Dr. Mihalos’ office was an absolute delight! From the moment you walk through the door, you are greeted with a warm smile and can tell that those employed in the office genuinely enjoy their work. As someone who has not frequented the dentist in quite some time (years to be exact), I was trembling with fear as to how painful the experience would feel or how bad the news about my dental hygiene might be. Dr. Mihalos and his staff, on the other hand, were incredibly professional. Going in for a teeth cleaning to remove months—or even years—of calculus, Dr. Mihalos was gentle, but thorough; his steady hand, and calm demeanour truly eliminate nearly every fear one could possibly have as a patient. Further to that, I was pleasantly surprised to find that each person I met with took their time with me; with a 5:15 p.m. appointment in an office that closes at 6 p.m., it was really comforting to find that every one from reception to Dr. Mihalos, himself, isn’t preparing to sprint out the door; I did not feel rushed, but welcomed, in fact. Visiting Dr. Mihalos’ office was such a relaxing experience; after running around the city all day, it was the one place that I finally felt at ease. I cannot wait to return.

This was my first time finding a dentist via ZocDoc and I was fortunately not disappointed; the office is clean and pleasant, and Demetrios is even nicer. He showed me where my x-rays indicated tartar buildup, which is the first time a dentist has taken the time to walk me through what’s going on with my teeth. He also let me know how much the tartar-removal procedure would cost with my insurance…unprompted, which is nice for those of us who feel awkward asking about the price!

I originally chose Dr. Mihalos because he was conveniently located near my clients and he was on ZocDoc (and he had a cute pic!) But I keep coming back to him because he is very personable, he lets you chose your own music, and he is a really great dentist. He does the cleanings himself (as opposed to handing you off to a hygienist after the first consult) and is extremely thorough. Demetrios Mihalos is by far the most conservative dentist that I have ever met. I went to him for a second opinion and he saw me right away. What would have cost me a lot of money he came up with a reasonable, money saving way to deal with two teeth that might have other wise needed two crowns, He is practical, excellent bedside manner and as he said gave me the same treatment as he would give his mother. He is a rare find in this big expensive city

My visit to Dr. Mihalos’s office was one of the best dental experiences I’ve had. I was greeted by Dr. Mihalos by name the minute I walked into the office, and he was the one who gave me and reviewed my paperwork. I was immediately called into the exam room, and after x-rays were taken, Dr. Mihalos came in, chatted with me, reviewed the x-rays in detail, and gave me a thorough dental cleaning and consultation. He went over both mine and his concerns in detail, even zooming in on the x-ray while explaining. And despite all this, I was in and out of the office in a half hour. I am so happy to have found a dentist where I can receive a thorough, efficient, and personable appointment.

Dr. Demetrios M. Mihalos received his D.D.S. degree from New York University’s College of Dentistry. Upon graduation, he received The Dr. Bernard E. Rudner Memorial award for demonstrating superior performance in providing oral comprehensive care and administering a dental practice. Following graduation, Dr. Mihalos continued his training at Maimonides Medical Center where he completed a General Practice Residency program. After completing his residency, Dr. Mihalos has practiced as an associate in private dental practices in New York City and Long island, mentoring under the top restorative and cosmetic dentists in the region. Dr. Mihalos is dedicated to continuing education and has completed extensive training in restorative and cosmetic dentistry at The Rosenthal Institute for Aesthetic Dentistry at NYU. Ever year, Dr. Mihalos participates in countless hours of continuing education, honing his skills at reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry and also keeping informed on the latest breakthroughs and technology in dentistry. Dr. Mihalos is also a Preferred Provider of Invisalign (clear braces). He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The New York County Dental Society and the Hellenic Dental Society.
