PATIENT REVIEWS

Check out what some of our happy patients are saying about us:

★★★★★

Dr. Milliron has been my dentist since he began his practice, about 25 years ago. He’s the best dentist I’ve ever had: expert, friendly, and willing to explain procedures in as much detail as the patient wants. His work on me over the years has been outstanding, in both function and appearance. Although I can’t say it’s a pleasure to go to the dentist, Dr. Milliron and his office staff, led by Joe, make the experience as close to one as it comes!

★★★★★

I was very impressed by Dr. Milliron’s ability to walk me through my procedure. He told me step by step what he was doing and why he had to do it. I found this very comforting as it was my first time having real dental work done and I was a bit nervous. The office staff and dental hygenists here are very nice and accomodating.

★★★★★

I found Dr. Milliron on Yelp and I highly recommend him to anyone in the area that is looking for a new dentist. I had my first appointment with Dr. Milliron today, and I must say, I was very pleased with the service I received.  Everyone was friendly and professional.  First, the scheduling process was simple.  I called in and spoke to Leslie, who was very polite and helpful.  I got lucky because someone had just called and cancelled an appointment so I was able to get in to see the Dr within 10 days of calling. She gave me all the information that I needed regarding getting to the office, finding parking, and getting into the building. She followed up with a confirmation call yesterday to remind me, which was helpful because of course I had forgotten :/ When I arrived this morning, Anna was very pleasant and was a great help, she did everything from directing me on completion of my new patient paper work to doing my x-rays and giving me change for my dollars so that I could feed the meter.  Dr. Milliron came in immediately after my x-rays.  He was friendly, and personable.  He asked questions about my dental history and answered all of the questions that I had about random stuff going on with my teeth.  Also (of less import) I really liked that he was dressed in regular work clothes, something about that white dentist coat freaks me out.. He finished my consult within about 10 minutes and advised me of the next steps of my treatment.  Billing was a breeze, the staff (whose names I can’t remember..sorry) were informed about the nuances of my dental coverage and gave me all the information I needed to know what to expect for the cost of future work.  They scheduled my follow on appointment right then and there and sent me on my way.  I’m looking forward to my follow up visit, this team is great.

★★★★★

I love this office. The atmosphere is calming and clean, very much like a spa. They do a good deep clean and they also upgraded 2 veneers for me years ago which turned out great. Dr. Milliron himself really pays attention, asks thoughtful questions and takes time to explain everything. He does a lot of incredible volunteer work too, so it’s not surprising that his commitment to good care shines through. It’s authentic. It always blows my mind when I leave without so much as a copay (Delta Dental). I am so grateful for their care of their patients; we feel it! PS They’re next to the watergate, so budget time afterward for a walk through the Georgetown waterfront 🙂

★★★★★

It doesn’t get much better than this, folks. I actually look forward to going to this Dentist. They are professional, courtesious, and downright friendly. They also know that most of us don’t brush after every meal–as we should, and gives solutions for this lifestyle choice instead of berating us. They also are quite knowledgable of over-the-counter products, instead of pitching their own services. The only catch? In most cases, there’s a six month waitlist. Better get on it!

★★★★★

I’ve been coming to Dr. Milliron since I moved to the DC area in 2013. Both him and the staff are top notch. There is no unnecessary work done here – he’ll explain to you what can wait vs. what is priority. I’ve always had an easy and quick experience here. Keep up the good work!

★★★★★

I have been going here since about 2007. I absolutely love this dentist! He is very friendly and professional, and I love that his name is Dennis (the dentist…ha ha). I trust what he says and he doesn’t try to prescribe unnecessary procedures. I have always had dental phobia and this practice makes me feel relaxed and respected. The dental hygienists are also very nice. I recommend Marcella. The waiting area feels like a hotel with nice art and classical music. They are always right on time. Jose at the front desk is also super friendly. I have sent 5 or 6 friends to this practice and they all tell me they love it too. It is popular so it can be hard to get in with them for the initial appointment and if you have to reschedule they sometimes don’t have anything available for a month or more. Convenient location near Foggy Bottom Metro.

★★★★★

Dr. Milliron is an amazing dentist. I procrastinate when it comes to making dentist appointments, because no matter how many times I brush my teeth, floss, or buy the next “greatest” electric toothbrush, I always have dental work to be done whenever I go in. The great customer service begins when you call to make an appointment. Joe always does the best he can to accommodate your schedule. Then when you go for your appointment you never wait more than 5 minutes to go back. Dr. Milliron is always very thorough and gentle when doing any dental work. He is honest and instead of being one of those dentist who does full oral surgery when a filling would do, he is conservative yet realistic. Then you check out and Joe reassures you that if there are any questions about your insurance, he will let you know. Instead of you having to wait for hours on hold trying to understand dental codes and what is and is not covered, their office takes of everything. I feel like bringing all my friends Dr. Milliron’s office just so they can meet the great staff, much less suggest him as the best dentist ever!!

★★★★★

Best dentist ever!  Everyone is incredibly friendly and Dr. Milliron is incredibly skilled and relaxing.  These guys even submit to your insurance for you if they are not part of your plan.  When my implant came loose, they got me in the next day and were able to figure out what kind of implant it was (had the work done years ago elsewhere) and how to fix it.  I actually look forward to going there.

★★★★★

I hate going to the dentist, but the staff here are amazing…friendly, professional, but not stuffy.  It feels like a casual good time when in the office.  If you dread the dentist or just looking for a cool, relaxed atmosphere, I highly recommend them.  They don’t push things you don’t need and are committed to your health and wellness.

★★★★★

I’ve been going to Drs. Jani and Milliron for about 4-5 years.I would highly recommend this dental practice to anyone looking for a new dentist in DC. Two reasons why I think you should trust my opinion: 1) I have worked as a dental assistant in the past so I know how a dental office should work, how dental exams are done, sanitation procedures, OSHA standards, etc. 2) My mother was my dentist until she retired about 5 years ago and I had a heck of a time finding a dentist I felt was on par with her.  I am very picky when it comes to dentists.  This is a clean, well-appointed, organized dental office.  The dentists are excellent and know their stuff.  They keep up on the latest research, techniques, and procedures. They don’t try to up-sell and they really care about your health and well being.  The office staff is great and will bill your insurance for you even if you’re out of network (they’ll send a bill if there’s a balance).  If you’re in network they also handle everything (I’ve been in and out of network as my insurance changes sometimes).  They make your next appointment for you at the time of your current appointment so you’re always on schedule.  The hygienists are great.  One thing I really like is that Dr. Jani (my dentist, although I’ve seen Dr. Milliron on occasion when Dr. Jani was out) will clean my teeth himself every once in a while.  This makes me confident he knows my mouth and will notice if things change or there is an issue.  I love Drs. Jani and Milliron.  Highly recommend.

★★★★★

I didn’t think it was possible but I actually ENJOYED my visit to the dentist today. I rarely write reviews but I felt compelled after my visit with Dr. Milliron today. I walked into the swanky office in foggy bottom. The waiting room is tastefully decorated with really eye-grabbing art pieces. The coffee table was filled with fashion magazines like Bazaar, Vogue, etc. (I love leafing through these mags all the while internally hatin’ them for highlighting shoes that 1% of their readership can actually afford.) I hardly had a wait. Within 3 mins, I’m was in the reclining chair. BTW, I called a week in advance of this appt so they saw me really quickly. Dr. Milliron entered and he is the sweetest man with a gentle smile. And get this, he did the cleaning himself! This is UNHEARD of! He explained everything he was doing. He balanced the line between advice and comfort. I felt safe. My old dentists were tools who made up issues for the sake of charging more to my insurance company. This wasn’t the case with Dr. Milliron. He did my cleaning all the while checking for abnormalities. He didn’t push unnecessary procedures on me. He was just so sweet about the whole thing and I got the sense that he actually likes cleaning people’s teeth. Who knew one could be inspired by a dentist? I hope I have as much passion as this guy and his air-scraper thing.

★★★★★

I have been going here for 6 years and would not even consider going anywhere else. All of the staff are very helpful, very friendly, remember who I am, and go out of their way to help. The cleanings are always thorough and I never feel rushed or like they are just squeezing me in. I’ve had a few small emergencies (a crown cracked off once, and then I have really severe TMJ that flairs up)- and they always try to get me in right away. My TMJ has been bad and I even spoke with Dr. Milliron on the phone, right away, to get some quick suggestions for relief before coming in the very next morning. They are busy so if you have to cancel a regular check-up/cleaning, you might get bumped several weeks or even a few months. But usually I can get another spot when someone else cancels. Overall, it’s a beautiful, clean office that is convenient to the Foggy Bottom metro. The customer service and care is extraordinary! I also like that they seem to retain their same staff– low staff turnover– and that is really nice to see. You get to know and get to see the same people which is helpful. A GREAT place.

★★★★★

An exceptional dental practice. The patient is treated with courtesy at every point in the patient experience. Dr Milliron is an exceptional dentist with an exceptional practice. He treats the patient as a valued person. He is very skilled and knowledgeable. Dr Milliron listens to patient concerns and takes the time to explain options and alleviate concerns. He does not opt for the most expensive options and gives the patient a feeling that the patient is not a cost center but a PATIENT. I have never been to a better dentist. He is very knowledgeable and skilled, gorgeous office, consistent exceptional customer service at every point of contact, patience with patients, able to explain dental options and not trying to convince patients of the most expensive options and everyone on this staff exemplifies wonderful service. The Ritz Carlton is dental practices. I can’t end this review without commending Joe for his service. I keep using the word exceptional because it is true and accurate. Joe cares about Dr Milliron’s patients and manages the business side of dental care with such skill and a sincere warmth. I feel so fortunate to be a patient in this practice.

★★★★★

After a terrible experience with another dentist in D.C., I was lead here by fellow yelpers. As usual, I was not led astray. From being able to obtain a same week appt. to the above average skill and care given, this office was fabulous. It was my first appointment and it became very clear that I needed a root canal. Unfortunately my wisdom tooth was leaning against it and other complications arose. Not a problem! Dr. Milliron went away for a moment to make a personal call, came back, and told me that he had called his friend who was a specialist over in dupont circle. I walked over, had the procedure, and was on my way. All in all, I highly recommend it and know that all of my dental needs will be taken care of at this office from now on.

★★★★★

DR. MILLIRON IS GREAT! I moved here in the early 90s. A co-worker recommended his dentist in Maryland. He turned out to be very unsatisfactory. I responded to one of those ads for “free cleaning, x-rays, and dental exam.” What a scam. At the conclusion of the dental exam that dentist provided a list of work that was inconsistent with all previous dental exams. A friend recommended Dr. Milliron. After seeing him, there were two issues he recommended that needed attention. He did not find the other issues previously identified. All of his staff has been great and the location is very Metro assessible. I was pressed for time to make a flight on the last visit for cleaning. Dr. Milliron took me in early and did the cleaning himself. I only fear that he will someday retire, which I don’t see on the horizon, and I’ll be faced with finding a new dentist.

★★★★★

I LOVE Dr. Milliron. Having had an exceptional amount of dental work done in the last 5 years, I can say that my trips to Dr. Milliron have been the most pleasant, comfortable, and informative dental experiences ever. The staff is courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable – several people have mentioned how great Joe is, and I’ll echo those comments. I always feel like I come away with new information about my teeth – and encouragement about ways I can take better care of them. Joe in particular made me feel much better about getting a night guard by sharing about how he got one recently as well. And when I was overcharged for the night guard – my insurance paid more than they estimated – they had already sent the refund to the accountant by the time I called. Seriously, I’ve never been as happy with a healthcare provider – much less dentist – as I am with Dr. Milliron.

★★★★★

Unequivocally, the absolute top dentist in all of DC, MD, VA – I’ll recommend Dr. Milliron to all my friends and family, from the staff to the atmosphere to the care. Dr. Milliron is top of the line 😉 Even if you’re one of the many that have always dreaded visiting the dentist, throughout LIFE, Dr Milliron will make all your worries disappear, and with the rest of the staff, Leslie, Anne, Joe and others… it’s just beautiful Dr. Million FTW!!

★★★★★

Dr. Milliron and his assistants provided the best general dental care I have had in a long time. After filling two cavities, he gave me a prescription for a special toothpaste to prevent dental decay. His dental assistant, Sandra, held my hand while he applied the anesthetic. He had me come back for a check-up and did not even charge my insurance company. I feel so fortunate that I found him.

★★★★★

I am a self proclaimed “dental-phobe”… but Dr. Milliron and his amazing staff have put me on the road to recovery. From the extremely family- friendly environment to the modern office decor to the advanced technology they utilize, to the amazing chair-side manner of Dr. Milliron I am on the road to recovery. Thanks to Joe and the amazing staff there for the wonderful experience they made for me in my dental visit. Rest peacefully fellow “dental-phobes” you now have a place you can feel at ease with too.

★★★★★

I have been going to Dr. Milliron’s office for dental work since the early 1990s. I can tell you with all the confidence in the world that he is among the best dentists in the D.C. region. I have had several dental hygienists over the years and only one was a little rough. All others were excellent. And Dr. Milliron himself is kind, caring, and has a sense of humor. I have never felt pressured to do unnecessary procedures, for example. I recommend Dr. M and his team (shout out to Joe!) unequivocally for high quality dental care over all these years. Thanks, you guys!

★★★★★

The best dentist ever! Dr Milliron is amazing and has awesome shoes! never hurts you and is gentle and funny. Leslie, Evelyn and Joe are all dolls-I sometimes just want to hang out at the dentist office. Whaaat a British person likes the dentist!! Well yes I do! they have done root canals, crowns, cleaning, a little cosmetic stuff. They are considerate, helpful and just downright great. If you’re a nervous person I highly recommend this practice.

★★★★★

I went to 3 different dentists in DC prior to switching to Dr. Milliron’s office. I was nervous going in at first because I had really terrible experiences at the other offices, but I feel like this practice deserves a category of its own. The office itself is very peaceful and clean (as other people have said it feels like a spa), and all of the staff are genuinely friendly. It’s nice to go into a business and know that the people who work there love their jobs–it really shows! The office is super convenient to get to (Foggy Bottom metro). They do schedule 3 months in advance, but as other people have said, there’s a reason they are so popular. My appointments have been with the same hygienist (Masha) and Dr. Jani for the last 3 years. I am not just Patient 3424 to them; it’s a personal experience. They know me by name and and ask how things have gone since I last saw them, bringing up things we discussed in previous visits. I think very highly of Dr. Milliron’s practice, and I couldn’t recommend them more.

★★★★★

I sought out Dr. Milliron for a second opinion after a disastrous appointment with another practitioner. Not only did he provide great dental care; he calmed my nerves, patiently answer my questions, and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. His staff are professional, courteous, and extremely inviting. His office suite looks like it belongs in a West Elm catalogue. I found my dentist (and they even accept my insurance), what more could you ask for?

★★★★★

Dr. Dennis and his staff are amazing! I dreaded looking for a new dentist when we moved to DC, however, Dr. Dennis came highly recommended. I was glad to find a good dentist on my 1st try! The staff is super attentive, they go over charges with you and are always available to answer any questions. I had 3 procedures done fairly quickly in preparation to start an Invisalign treatment with an orthodontist. Pricing seemed fair when compared to other dentists in the area. The ONLY downside is the parking situation, but then again, that has little to do with the office and the services they provide. PMI will charge you an arm and a leg – its DC after all.

★★★★★

I hate, hate, hate going to the dentist because of those skull-numbing drills and finger-cringing pick tools! And don’t forget the syringes that make your gums go numb when they want to extract a tooth! Well, my first appointment here wasn’t at all bad! Really! Not. At. All. The receptionist was very friendly, welcoming, and quite informative. She did her best and went beyond when I had any questions and boy, it was smooth sailing from there on out. Marcela was the one who took care of me and did a superb job. She was patient and courteous! I was in there for a check up and a cleaning and it went well. I won’t put in the details, but let’s say it was surprising that I wasn’t cringing or flailing about wildly. Afterwards, Dr. Milliron came by to elaborate what was going on with my teeth. He was professional, friendly, and patient 🙂 I didn’t feel at all rushed! Keep up with the lovely work!

★★★★★

I have a tooth! It looks real.. It doesn’t hurt. I can eat. I have a tooth! And a new dentist. The staff is great. Doctor Milliron is great. The waiting room is comfortable but they are always on time so don’t get to comfy. Did I mention I have a tooth? Cheese!

★★★★★

Dr. Milliron, his technicians and supporting personnel are all just wonderful. I have been a patient for many years and will continue to be a patient whenever we return to the U.S. for home visits. I trust their judgment on everything related to my teeth. They are all friendly and super helpful about billing/insurance matters. It seems like they can almost always fit you into their schedule when needed. The office is neat and comfortable. The best dentist office!!

★★★★★

Dr. Milliron has been my dentist since 1997.  I really can’t imagine myself going to anyone else, even if I had to pay everything out of pocket.  Yes, he is that good.  But behind every good dentist there is a great staff.  The administrative staff is friendly and professional.  My hygienist, Masha, does a great job at education; things like proper flossing and brushing techniques. Recently, she discovered during one of my routine visits a potentially serious abscess…and I had no idea of it, as I had no pain or discomfort.  All this resulted in a referral to an endodontist, but the staff made sure the Dr was a member of my PPO and even gave me a printout of my insurance info to take with me to facilitate with the verification of benefits process.  The office is very nice and close to the GW Metro station.  I particularly like that the business part of the office is separate from the waiting room, and you don’t hear any conversations between the staff and patients.  Over the years the practice has grown and gotten fancier but the staff, particularly Joe and Evelyn, have never lost that special personal touch that makes this practice special to me,  almost like family.  I strongly recommend Dr. Milliron!

★★★★★

I don’t write many Yelp reviews so you know that when I do it’s either for really good or bad service. This is a special case of really good service. Dr. Jani at Dennis Milliron, DDS is extremely knowledgeable and helpful without being judgemental at all. They got me in the door within a couple days for an appointment and took care of everything I needed. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about handling and processing the insurance paperwork and claims processes and really just made the whole experience super fast, easy, and painless. You can’t ask for much better than that for a visit to the dental office! Do yourself a favor and the next time you need a visit to the dentist call Dr. Milliron and Dr. Jani’s office or visit the super easy to use website with online appointment boking tools.

★★★★★

I’ve been to Dr. Milliron about 3 times in the last 6-7 months so I finally feel qualified to write a review about him. I have experienced no glaring negatives – Dr. Milliron and the hygienist are both friendly and personable, and the staff is helpful in explaining everything else. While the front desk does like you to call ahead 24 hours if you have to cancel or change your appointment, they did it for me on short notice once, which I appreciated. My first encounter with Dr. Milliron was a root canal, which we all know are never pleasant. Though he doesn’t do them himself, he has a friend over in Dupont Circle (Dr. Fonseca, another good dental specialist) that he called and helped me set up an appointment with. He prescribed me medicine for my tooth pain and to my knowledge did not charge me for the x-rays to see what the heck was wrong with my tooth and what was causing such great pain. Dr. Milliron even explains to me what he’s probing my mouth with and what the tool does (though most of it goes over my head since I’m not a dentist), and constantly checks to see if I’m doing ok in the chair. He doesn’t hassle you if your teeth are less than stellar on your visit. Also, the office and waiting room is really nice. It reminds me more of a hotel lobby than a dentist’s office. A word to the wise – I would suggest finding a parking spot out on Virginia Ave or taking the Metro instead of parking in the garage across the street because it can get rather expensive. Recommended – as long as I’m in the DC area I see myself being a patient of Dr. Milliron’s.

★★★★★

I have been going to see Dr. Milliron since 1995. I hate dentists, but I have to admit, Dr. Milliron’s approach is incredibly calm, comforting, and professional. He explains things, makes me laugh, is patient, and doesn’t make me feel silly for asking questions. He always, always makes sure I’m comfortable when he is working on my teeth (and I have needed a lot of work). It is because of him that I go to the dentist regularly. I have recommended him to everyone. At one point we used to joke that half of my co-workers and that of my partners were seeing Dr. Milliron. He has even checked up on me during the weekend and once while he was on vacation to make sure I was okay when I had an unexpected infection. The hygienists are superb. On my last visit, one if them took the time to teach me about biology of the tooth and gums to explain sensitivity, for example. The office staff is also great to work with. They handle emergencies and last-minute requests professionally. I can’t say enough about them. Over the years, I’ve gotten to know the whole staff and really appreciate how much they care about their patients, running an efficient and welcoming practice, and ensuring that we all walk away with a positive experience. Love, love, love this place.

★★★★★

I had such a wonderful experience today that I owe it to Dr. Milliron to write a review. This dentist was recommended by a friend, seconded by Yelp Reviewers, and confirmed by me — First, the office: Clean, comfortable, welcoming. Equipment is modern and appears more up to par than my last dentist. Large viewing screens for the dentist to closely examine teeth. Even the bathroom is nice! Second, the staff: Friendly, polite, informed, pleasant to speak with; they treat you as though they have known you for years. They value opinions and care about the client. Third, Dr. Milliron: Very knowledgeable and patient to answer questions. He told me exactly what he was looking for to determine the health (and problems) of my teeth as we viewed the screen together. He told me which of my supposed “problem teeth” needed to be worked on soon and which could wait (or had no real issues). I had four problem teeth (I had just seen my previous dentist a few weeks back, who was no help and I thought may have caused the issues). Two teeth were causing me pain. Looks like I need to come in for some minor work, so I will be back soon. Looking forward to it. He also perscribed a special mouthwash for me — to help with one type of issue I may have. His assistant Anna is very competent and pleasant to speak with. Additional pluses: The office was able to see me on such short notice. I can see why they may not be accepting new clients, as they are continuously booked with happy customers.

★★★★★

I went to Dr. Milliron’s office for the first time today and want to provide an extensive overview of my experience. MAKING AN APPOINTMENT: I called the day before my appointment. Lucky or not so lucky for me, having a dental emergency [broken tooth] may have pushed me to the front of the line. After reading the reviews on Yelp that stated 3 month waits, that is what I was prepared to hear. Thankfully that didn’t happen. THE OFFICE: It is true that this office looks more like a spa than a typical dentist’s office, or at least not any dentist’s office I have been to in the past. The staff is very friendly, and efficient. For those who may be afraid of dentists, the atmosphere is immediately calming, right down to the soft lighting. MEETING DR. MILLIRON: Going in I knew from a previous dentist that I would need some serious dental work – root canal, crown, maybe some gum work – and I expected Dr. Milliron woud do a preliminary once over and schedule me for another appointment. To my surprise I got a same day root canal, not because it was urgent, but because he was willing to do it. It was as simple as me asking, and him saying, “Oh, I think I can move a couple things around.” About an hour later I was done with the root canal. On top of that Dr. Milliron and his staff were a joy to deal with. They explained everything I needed to know, and were espeically helpful at breaking down how much my insurance would cover and how much I’d pay out of pocket. In addition, they were very clear about explaining what my options were. I could have also opted to remove my tooth, but I didn’t want to deal with that. On top of all of that, they were great about giving me information on additional resources, like websites where I could get even more information about the procedures I would be having over a series of visits. THE DENTAL WORK: This was my first root canal and it was practically painless. I don’t know why I got so lucky, but I did. I’m sure it had to do with the fine work Dr.Milliron and his assistant did. Each step along the way, he explained what almost every aparatus he was using was, and what he was using it for. I really feel that I have a learned a wealth about the process of conducting a root canal. Once it was over, he gave me some prescriptions for antibiotics and painkillers, but I havne’t felt any pain yet. The work also looks really nice. I am still waiting to be fitted for a crown, but the temporary filling was nicely done and I don’t feel self conscious about my dental work. Overall, Dr. Milliron is great and I can’t wait to see him and his staff again!

★★★★★

Dr. Milliron and his staff is the best in the nation…period! The staff is cordial and professional. You can tell that what they do is more than just a job to them. Dr. Milliron is personable and well-versed on the best options regarding dentistry. The office space is more like a swanky lobby in a 5-star hotel. The wait is not long and the visit with the dentist does not feel rushed. I wish all medical professionals would use Dr. Milliron as a benchmark on how to run a medical practice.
