She’s absolutely fantastic! Wonderful bedside manner — one of the very few who don’t make you feel awful about having to visit the dentist. She even went out of her way and personally called an endodontist colleague after hours to ensure I got an appointment the following day. (The endodontist she referred me to was similarly super kind and compentent.)

I went to the practice at my husband’s recommendation and I am so very glad that I did. Dr. Bolding is exceptional. Smart, thorough and genuinely caring. Although the initial exam made it hard to tell exactly what was wrong with my jaw (loads of pain), she addressed it in a methodical manner and stayed connected with me over the weekend, adjusting the approach as needed. Ultimately I she referred me to an endodontist who was also fantastic – it is great to know that there is a network of local “dentists” who provide outstanding care. She is now my new dentist! 🙂

Dr. Laura Bolding was referred to me by a highly competent and respected periodontist because of my unusual fistula resulting from degradation of bone from radiation to treat oral cancer. I’ve had five different oral surgeries (not counting the radiation) and my mouth is anything but normal. So Dr Bolding’s standards for creating a perfect oral appliance and partial for me gives me great confidence in her professionalism and expertise treating patients with radiation. I have seen Dr. Kaplan several times and she too is very easy to talk to and takes time with patients. Only complaint is always running late, probably because she takes time with patients!

I am one who has been quarantined since March with my immediate family and remain that way til this day. I visited TMJ specialists today, reluctantly, I must admit. I was astounded by the lengths to which this office has gone to protect us, the patients and the staff as well. It only took me 5 minutes to relax and feel comfortable after seeing the safety measures they had in place. Masks and gloves, temperature and oxygen levels, affidavits of health status…… ONE person in the waiting room at a time whether it be checking in or checking out…….sanitizing each room and leaving it vacant for 30m between patients and even an air filtration system throughout the office. I made another appointment on my way out as I would have NO CONCERN returning. Kudos to Dental & TMJ Specialists of Greater DC for the efforts. I wish others would take heed.

Been a patient for over 15 years now and not sure I would have gotten through the radiation and chemotherapy aftermath without the guidance of Dr. Kaplan and her team. Dr. Kaplan has been a godsend. The issues for patients like me run deep and she has been there every step of the way to restore “law and order” to my mouth! Always there when I need her and love that I can text her a picture of my mouth whenever I bust a tooth playing basketball or eating the wrong thing….again. Love the staff, Dr. Lauren Boulding is terrific and I would recommend this group to anyone needing top shelf dental care, Look forward to the big move to Skybridge Towers in July 2021. Going to be beyond awesome!
A WORD FROM YOUR DOCTOR
Dr. Bolding earned the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry. Passionate about specialty dentistry, she went on to obtain a certificate in Prosthodontics as well as a Master of Science degree from the Prosthodontic Residency Program at the University of Maryland. Once completed, her advanced training continued having been accepted into the Maxillofacial Prosthetics and Dental Oncology Fellowship program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Bolding is a Board-Certified Maxillofacial Prosthodontist, a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, having passed all the clinical exams, peer reviews and extensive clinical hours that are necessary to achieve these prestigious accomplishments. In recent years, Dr. Bolding was the recipient of the Joseph B. Barron Award that acknowledges an elite group of Maxillofacial Prosthodontists for their exceptional ability in the areas of clinical, educational and research as specialists. She was also voted top doctor by her peers as the 2019 Top Invisalign Dentist in the Greater DC vicinity. Dr. Bolding specializes in the restoration of oral and facial structures lost to cancer, trauma and birth defects. Currently, she is the Clinical Associate at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, where she treats patients having undergone surgery and/or radiation therapy and Chemotherapy for oral and head/neck cancer. Additionally, she treats patients and oversees residents treating patients with complex prosthodontic needs. Dr. Bolding is the current President of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) – Maryland Chapter. Additionally, she held the position of treasurer for the ACP from 2016 – 2018.
