In short: The best dental experiences I’ve ever had. Seriously. In long: I needed a dentist urgently – broken tooth acting up – and my erstwhile dentist was WAY far away in another town. Thankfully, the very-efficient and amiable Megan at Dr. Kussick’s office was able to get me in the same day. I’ve had some pretty awful dental experiences in the past, resulting in near-crippling dental anxiety. So hearing that I needed a root canal in any other situation would likely have resulted in heart palpitations and a tension headache. But Dr. Kussick and his staff listened to my concerns, addressed my anxiety and came up with a plan that would get me out of pain and fix my mouth. While I can’t promise that your root canal will be as painless as mine, I can promise you that Dr. Kussick will try his best to make it so. It’s easyish to find a dentist who can do good work. Maybe even to find a dentist who will be gentle and communicative. However, it’s more difficult to find those qualities in the same dentist. If you’re reading this review, then you already have; Dr. Kussick is your guy. I’ve since gone on to get a cleaning and a crown from Dr. Kussick. Speaking of cleaning… both of the hygienists I’ve seen were excellent as well!

Having lived all over the country I’ve had a lot of dentists but none have compared to Dr Kussick. I’ve been his patient for 3 years now. EXCELLENT experience! Very professional. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful when it comes to booking appointments, billing, etc.. Dr. Kussick and the assistants do great work and always make sure I’m comfortable and relaxed, whether it’s giving me a warm blanket or just explaining everything in an easy way that I can understand. The office is very clean and they even offer some refreshments while you wait. I HIGHLY recommend if you’re looking for a new dentist. I always used to dread going to the dentist and would get super bad anxiety but that has not been the case since I started coming here.

I’ve been coming here for a couple years now. I’m pretty neutral when if comes to visiting dentists but Dr. Kussick and crew really make you feel welcomed. They’ll take the time to actually get to know you and make you feel cared for. The crew here will actually go out of their way and talk to you and make you part of their family. These people are amazing. I hadn’t been to the dentist in years and was really nervous to back, but my fiancé recommended them to me. He was in the same boat and said that they did a great job and were really friendly so I decided to check them out. The receptionist, Sierra, is awesome. Very friendly and always on top of communicating with you regarding appointment times, billing questions, things like that. I also appreciate that she always offered me coffee or tea each time I came to an appointment which was three in total so far. My first appointment was X-Rays and a comprehensive exam of my teeth since I hadn’t seen a dentist in so long. Dr Kussick was very thorough and answered all of my questions and also went over exactly what they would need to do in my next visits. He made me feel very much at ease and not nervous at all. On top of that, he’s just a really nice guy and very professional. My hygienist, Crystal, was also great. She also, was very friendly and did a really nice job on my teeth. She made sure I was comfortable throughout the cleaning which was really nice, considering there was a lot of deep cleaning to do. Also, Larisa was wonderful as well. She assisted Dr Kussick during two fillings that I had done. I was also offered some Netflix while they worked on me, which I thought was brilliant. I can’t recommend this location enough, really. If you’re just looking for a new dentist or like me, hadn’t gone in a while and are nervous about it, then see them. I also didn’t have any dental insurance which was worrying since I’m on a tight budget. Sierra helped me get a CitiHealth card so I can make monthly payments instead. On a side note, I also really appreciate the quality of equipment they used which all seemed to be brand new. The rooms and lobby were also spotless. You all rock!!! Thank you so much!!! And also, thanks for the warm chocolately chip cookies at the end of each visit.

My mom had chipped her tooth in the morning and we frantically called numerous dentists to get an appointment to see if we could get it fixed the same day. The receptionists took all of our information and got us scheduled for the afternoon. The office was clean and the environment was extremely comfortable. Being from out of town you don’t know what to expect but I felt very comfortable that my mom was in good hands. My mom came out of the chair with a big smile all fixed up. Let me start by saying that I am terrified of the dentist. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate my level of fear at an 11. After not having been to the dentist in nearly 5 years and having tooth pain, I realized that it was time to face the music. The receptionist was friendly and informative, the hygenist and technician were cheerful and calming, and Dr. Kussick was very professional. This was my first appointment with Dr. Hal Kussick. Upon walking into the office I was greeted by the friendly staff at the front desk and quickly set up for my appointment (I filled in the new patient forms online to save time, but a few things still needed to be taken care of). The wait was a little longer than I would have liked ~10-15 minutes, but you cant really expect immediate service in healthcare these days, so I found this appropriate. I was able to keep entertained by admiring the beautiful interior design as well as the plentiful magazines for patient perusal. When I was called in for my appointment, I met the dental staff who was very friendly and helped me through the many (18) X-rays for first-timers. Afterwards the Dr. came through and was very personable, was very attuned to the patient concerns as well as giving detailed descriptions of the procedures he was preforming. Overall, I found this to a very pleasant experience and I look forward to my teeth cleaning later this week!

I’ve had a few painful experiences with dentists and I’m apprehensive every time I go…which isn’t as often as I should. I don’t enjoy going to the dentist, but I do like the clean feeling I have after the hygienist scrapes all that tartar from my teeth. With my infrequent visits, it can be a lot of tartar. And sometimes, though not often, I need a filling. Especially as I get older. I decided to try Dental@888 as I was doubting my previous dentists for various reasons. I liked the reminders Dental@888 sent; for those of us who are busy and electronically tethered, it’s nice to have these reminders. The office is bright, tastefully decorated, conveniently located in the South Lake Union neighborhood, has free coffee and an on-top-of-it receptionist. The hygienist who saw me was conversational and interesting, thorough in her work, careful with my sensitive teeth, and knowledgeably responded to all my questions. When Dr. Kussick saw me he wasn’t rushed, he took time to answer my additional questions, and as we looked at my xrays, explained his thoughts on my existing fillings and places to watch, as well as gum recession, teeth grinding, stress, etc. I left feeling good about my experience, that my teeth were clean and doing okay, that I wasn’t upsold on anything I didn’t need, and that my dental health and well being are what matter most.

This is a practice you can trust. There is a lot of trust needed when going to the dentist. You sit in a chair and have someone poke at your teeth for a while. Then the dentist comes in gives you a diagnoses and you sort of have to go with what they say. Like taking your car in, you never know how thorough or how switched on your mechanic is. Well, technology seems to have helped to change that. When I visited Dental@888 I was impressed with how thorough the hygienist was with my teeth. She refused to let a piece of tartar (and there was lots) remain. She scratched and rubbed for quite a while making sure no corner was left unseen. Then some cool UV photos of my teeth followed by an analysis with Dr. Kussick. He quickly spotted a little tooth decay on one of my molars and rather than describe it to me (which would have meant me having to trust what he said) he showed it to me with the UV photos. Super cool. So I need to go back and have this little problem worked on but it seems like no big deal. I know I will be in good hands. + Very thorough, cool use of technology, ultra modern office, free coffee, friendly staff – You may just find you have something in your mouth you don’t want to find. Like a cavity!

I have found there are good dentists and bad dentists and then there are dentists you go out of your way to go back to. I was particularly impressed when he noticed a small problem with a cavity he put in and offered to repair it free of charge, it sounds simple enough, but considering how many cavities I have had break due to previous dentist incompetence only to be charged to fix it I am pleased with Dr Kussicks workmanship and honesty.

DENTAL@888 is a state-of-the-art dental practice conveniently located in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood. Dr. Kussick specializes in personalized, high quality, high customer service general and cosmetic dentistry. We use the most up-to-date equipment, materials, and techniques. With over 25 years of experience and a dedicated staff, you will be in good hands. The son of a dentist, Dr. Kussick graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1993. He spent the next twelve years with Aesthetic Dental Associates in downtown Seattle. There he practiced comprehensive dentistry including crowns, fillings, oral surgery, and cosmetic smile design. In 2005 Dr. Kussick had the opportunity to join a dental practice in the ultra-modern country of Singapore in Southeast Asia. He spent five years practicing with a top dental group there. While in Singapore Dr. Kussick became involved in volunteer dental work in the neighboring country of Cambodia. In 2007 he became a founding board member of the Lake Clinic (www.lakeclinic.org), an organization providing free medical and dental care to people in some of the poorest, most remote parts of Cambodia. He spends up to a month every year volunteering there. In 2010 Dr. Kussick moved back home to Seattle. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association, and the Seattle-King County Dental Association, He has taken advanced training and has developed advanced skills in many areas of dentistry. His brand new office employs the most advanced technology available to help facilitate his goal of delivering top quality care with an emphasis on comfort and customer service. When not working Dr. Kussick enjoys climbing, skiing, running, and cycling.
